    • Fans cannot really understand what goes into television. I get it, people just want to watch the show and have a good time. However it's not a comic book, you can't make them do what you want, you're dealing with real life actors, who have a personal life and are doing their own thing. You can only make a contract last up to 7 years in the USA. Now, it so happens that Carl was a child and so you'd need a child actor, obviously there's no such thing as an established 7 year old actor, so you make do with what you've got. We kept following the story and the actor grew up, but if we're honest with ourselves, I think every movie enthusiast could clearly see how bad of an actor he was. Many scenes with him in it were cut, and you could see why. To keep the actor on payroll when he was 18 would mean give him that extra pay, and then the question becomes, why pay so much for a bad actor? You wouldn't, so you kill of the character.

While James and Brian gave breathtaking performances emotionally Andrew Lincoln was emotionally and physically breathtaking he put his heart and soul into the role of Rick Grimes destroying himself psychologically if you watch the behind-the-scenes of him before a scene he was always in a corner listening to depressing music and thinking of awful things to give that much more authentic performance. Say what you want about the walking dead but it is honestly mind blowing that not only did he not win a Emmy or a golden globe but he wasn’t even nominated 😓

I Only don't mention JK Simmons at 9.9 because his TV show Growing Up Fisher was canceled after the 1st season (dumb ass executives). • Another great thing about Rick is that he's not an infallible Mary Sue (like Daryl). He fucks things up, doesn't win every fight, and has regrets. Anything that goes wrong with Daryl is completely out of his control and unavoidable, otherwise everything within Daryl's control he executes flawlessly to the point where it's tedious and predictable to watch. Whilst the show does slowly decline in quality after Season 1 with it's change in showrunners, it is otherwise still decent viewing material right up until Rick's departure. After that, it just nose-dives. Then you begin to realise it really doesn't matter how hot Rosita is, because it was in fact just Andrew Lincoln carrying the show the entire time.

  • Something I love with Rick isn't exactly really about him in particular. What I love is that they decided to move Rick and everyone from Kentucky to Georgia and thus made Rick part of the Georgia State Patrol. This means that they could give him such an iconic weapon as the Colt Python, which was actually issued to GSP officers until recently, without sacrificing realism. That Python is as iconic to the The Walking Dead as Rick himself.

    @randomlyentertaining8287@randomlyentertaining82878 ай бұрын
    • Rick was part of the King County Sheriff’s Department, not the Georgia State Patrol. King County doesn’t actually exist, but I would say the realism of being a small town sheriff’s deputy with an outdated duty weapon is believable.

That would've been interesting to see, but when you think of a character and the image of the actor comes in your mind before you remember the comic book counterpart, that's when you know you hit the jackpot, Andrew Lincoln could never be replaced.

    • Ya I am glad Thomas Jane didn't get it. He was busy with another show on HBO that lasted maybe 1 season. Frank Darabaunt wanted Thomas because he worked with him on the movie "The Mist" along with Melissa McBride and Dale. But IMO Thomas Jane couldn't pull off Rick Grimes nearly as well as Andrew. Not only is Andy a better Actor IMO but being the lead of a show this massive and having to reinvent the main protagonist from the 1st 1/2 of the season to the other 1/2 for 9.5 seasons takes talent. One also has to be a cheerleader for it off set. Interviews, and comic cons, panels, photo shoots etc.. Andrew has a great personality and humble and sweet and relates to the fans and he is LOVED by both cast and crew. Thomas couldn't carry all of that. Imo.

  • Andy Lincoln has been absolutely snubbed by the lack of Emmys for his performance. Even when the show wasn’t great in seasons 7 and 8, he was always on fire. The writing ironically did get a little better in the whisperer era, and it frustrates the hell out of me bc I think he would’ve nailed that arc. The commonwealth stuff wasn’t the best, but it was also pretty dull in the comic too so god knows how that would’ve turned out.

  • Hear me out…Andrew Lincoln in a Mad Max mini series. Another apocalyptic performance but he would get a chance to have a lot more badass moments in a series more based on vehicular combat then fighting the walking dead. He showed his chops as a bad ass in the earlier seasons battling terminus, and who can forget the scene with Joe and his gang. In my opinion, the world of Mad max always deserved a long, fleshed out and gritty series similar to TWD. Who better then Lincoln to fill those shoes. It’s almost too perfect. In another reality it has happened
