Hilltop said they were extorting them and that they killed a 15 year old kid just to show how serious they were. "they said we needed to understand right off the bat". I get so sick of people talking about the stalite outpost killings as though ricks group is evil for doing that or even close to being on negans levek ethically just because it was in their sleep. Yes killing someone who is asleep makes it sound alot worse but you gotta look at rhe Bigger picture. Also those people sleeping had pictures of smashed heads from negans bat hanging over their beds. • Also, like you said, in Neegans flashback episode we see that he loved Lucille (his wife) more then anything. He fought like hell to keep her alive when she had CANCER during the apocalypse. I think losing her turned him into the Neegan we first meet and the end of the show is the arc of him returning back to the person he WAS- protecting his current wife years later and finally understanding the impact of what he did to Glenn. The whole basbeball bat wielding viscious era was a direct cause of losing the true Lucille.

We were already annoyed with their dynamic being drug out in the main show and then to just rinse and repeat it again in a worse written scenario really just ruined their characters a tad and leaves a sore spot for me personally in where the lore of the world and overarching story for Negan and Maggie is heading.

I guess that's all fine and dandy if you can sit idly by and watch as an audience member. But, I highly doubt anyone would ever find this guy as "charming" if he existed in real life. I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan's performance, but the guy is hardly redeemable and probably shouldn't have been by our main cast. • Although Simon may have gone rogue this doesn't excuse the fact that Negan knew he was a child murdering psychopath and is just as guilty by association for letting him live and of all things making him his right hand man, which gave him the opportunity to kill more children, which he did. Negan's I don't kill kids I find so funny because he literally gets so many killed because of his inability to actually lead.@@the_neo_crusader

  • I do wish his defeat was handled differently. Negan realizing he was wrong and his way of doing things was wong then getting captured the it's done in the comics would have made his redemption a bit more believable. Having him going "oh I still think my way of doing things was correct but I like the cut of this 8 year old's jib so I'm good now." Was a bit jaring

  • 20:00 i hope this is sarcasm, because at this point both carol and (especially) gabriel are also among *these best* ones since rick disappeared. Either way, personally i find *Rick* to be the best character, because he never lost himself like negan did, and as understandable as it is, it is a sign of weakness. Considering how rick has dealt with at least as much loss as negan, but he adapted to the new world and kept fighting for a better future, instead of turning evil and started ruining & leeching off others. Oh, and im pretty sure anyone with an army like negans could effortlessly make *anyone else* look like a wuss, so thats not really a fair comparison... I also wanna point out when negan leaves maggie for her "death". im sure he did it for the obvious reasons, but like, what if she was alone..shed have to survive on her own either way. And in *her* defense later on, that was a much more intense and risky situation than with negan ngl. Most of us would open the door for sure, but i dont blame her in that situation.

  • People who defend Negan and the savious haven't watched the show or read the comics, this is mostly because it's been a long time since season 6 and his redemption made people forget who he really was, he was a tyrant dictator even before he met Rick's group.

  • I think the 'here's negan's story made negan naming his bat after his wife even deeper. He didn't just make the bat after someone he loves and misses. Lucille died because this guy kidnapping negan while he was trying to get medicine for lucille.. then negan killed the guy with the bat and named her Lucille.. like Lucille got her revenge. It almost makes sense why he treats the bat like it has its own personality
