My Welding Table: • Welding Table Build wi...
My Sheet Metal Bender Video: • DIY Sheet Metal Bender...
In this Video i build a battery powered Welding table, it works with a 18volt battery. The Batteryplug on the side is a 18v Lamp. The Motor is a 24volt windshield wiper Motor. The Gearwheels are from an old lathe and the Control regulation is a PWM-Control (About 10-15€ in eBay or Amazon). Please mind that i don't Show any cabeling in this Video, you shouldn't do any thing of this if you are not to 100% sure what you're doing!!!
I Tig Brazed everything to gave my Turntable a industial look, with the holes in the Bottom I'm able to screw it to my Weldingtable to secure it.
This is not a step by step Explanation Video and i build everything with my personal skills.

  • You should somehow prevent the welding current from flowing through the bearings. The copper band inside the housing is supposed to do just that. However, it should be spring loaded because the copper will eventually, quite soon actually, stop making a decent contact with the shaft as it looses the original tension. Being battery operated is a great idea !

    • Nice work I especially like the battery powered wiper motor I’ll have to look into that I just powered a bead roller with one and am thinking of a sheet metal roller powered the same way Than depending on how they last was thinking of powering a tube bender/roller

  • I'm building one of these currently. Wish I knew those all in one speed controllers with the direction switch existed. Would've saved a lot of time, but I've learnt a bit about electronics doing it the way I have. My rotating chuck is being made out of s/s so drilling & filing out a square hole is a chore. The gears are cool too. I used a motor bike chain & sprocket in hindsight the gears would be the way to go. Watched this video 2 weeks too late, but saying that. If I run in to reliability issues, I can change the set up similar to yours.

Be a team player and post your diagrams. I'm willing to donate for your effort as sure as others will. It's worth it. Thanks in Advance, an admirer. Phoenix One.

  • Great job, I wonder given the slightly golden color of the welds if you have used silicon bronze as a tig -rod. I understand that there is no benefit and it is just an increase in costs. But from the color that can be an optical effect this idea comes to me. In case I thought it was for purely aesthetic purposes giving a line close to INDUSTRIAL STYLE or STEAMPUNK? ..... looking at it well, it seems to me it could be an optical effect due to the warm light and perhaps also to the reach of argon.
