I used to often handmade build bicycles. But those were very eye-catching bikes, “beach cruisers”. The last one was probably 12 years ago. Back then I wanted to build a bicycle frame made of polished stainless steel. Although stainless steel is not the best material for a bicycle frame. Now it turned out that it had worked. It was an e-bike, I thought it would be more complicated, especially with the wiring, but it was really plug and play. The polishing was actually the most complex part of the construction. Next time I would choose larger pipes and put all the cable stuff in the frame. But the whole construction was a lot of fun.

  • Your use of basic tools and few jigs makes this project look really approachable. I’ve seen so many frame building videos that make it look more difficult than it is. Thanks for that!

    • All these keyboard warriors who all made their last bike frame with two hand files, some emery-cloth and a paraffin blow lamp. Sheesh! Give the man credit… he built most of his own tools, welding table etc. on which he constructed this frame. I wouldn’t want to ride anything that heavy, but… give the man credit, for goodness sake.

  • I was a tad confused by one of the shots were you already had the wheels put on, before finishing the rest of the assembly. And I have to ask if the only thing that's holding the battery in place is a series of tie-wraps. In my opinion you still need to add a kickstand. But overall it looks very nice, with a sleek design.

  • Nicely done. Yet the frame is quite heavy, should have used better/lighter tubes though the electric motor compensates some of that. And the overall size seems a little compact for the rider, like a youth size on a grown man. If this was the first frame project, it's a nice start, can make it better next time.

Aber all in all richtig schönes Projekt!

@TheMetalist@TheMetalist5 ай бұрын
