Welding & Cutting rotary table - BUILD

This time I decided to make a device that I needed many times in the past. I tried to use simple materials and components that I had in the workshop. I wanted this device to be mobile, but unfortunately it came out very heavy (about 50 kg), so I will have to find some place for it :)
If you have any questions, write them in the comment and I will try to answer.

Trzeba mieć główeńkę nie od parady by zrobić jedno by wykorzystać do zrobienia czegoś bardziej złożonego. Widać plan rozwoju warsztatu. No i nie się mu darzy!

  • Good job. I like the wiper motor. I would improve it by having different type of grounding. Now the welder grounds the workpiece through the bearing units and the bearing surfaces any big amperage might weld or heat up the rollers. You could have some electric motor carbon brushes on the rotating shaft. It might protect the rpm adjuster from the HF-plasma/welder high voltage spark.

    @jaba512@jaba5124 жыл бұрын
    • Incorrect, He has the ground affixed to the centre pipe, through to the chuck mounting plate, through the chuck and into the work piece. The current does not go through the bearings.

  • I like what you have done here. A friend of mine and I built something very similar years ago for fabricating pipe spools. On the thing does give me pause for concern though and that is your grounding system. We did much the same thing and found that it was hit or miss and the power flow could end up going through the bearings. What we ended up doing was getting some large brush holders and brushes that were meant for an electric motor. These were mounted on a plastic base to isolate them and the brush, which was spring loaded, then rode directly on the shaft. Current was carried to the brush via a piece of welding cable with grommet ends on it and it in turn was connected to an electrical bulkhead fitting to the outside of the gear box where your ground could be connected. After making this change we never lost another set of bearings.
