Presented by EA Creator Network, I will be releasing a mod that fixes a lot of The Sims 4 Wedding Stories right around its official launch. This is not the final build of the pack, but some of my fixes will be relevant regardless. Here are my first impressions and the things I tackled immediately in order to make weddings work much better.

"Hollow" is the word for describing this gaming experience indeed. There's no feeling of magic or wholesomeness, and love is NOT in the air. There is dead silence, a feeling of total disinterest from the guests - A far cry from the smiling, crying, clapping people we were sold in the advert. It's joyless, dull, and robotic. Where's the heart?
i know right? i bet they only made those happy crying animations for the trailer but i'm not so sure. :( it sucks! they're literally just like: 😐
Glad to know I’m not the only person who noticed this issue. I watched Pixelade’s live stream for this pack and commented that the engagement party felt empty and disjointed. If EA wants to push back their release date even further and fix all the bugs, I’d be okay with that.
That's a good descriptor for The Sims 4 period.
@@symbdich literally came here to say this
Um... the heart is sold separately 🙄
Okay, at this Point the vanilla weddings seem to be working a lot better than whatever comes with this pack 😳😬
Yes. They work a lot better.
The guests in my vanilla wedding actually sit down most of the time, so this pack looks like downgrade for me 😅
I was thinking of buying this pack when it goes on sale in the future because I liked the clothes, but if it’s gonna break weddings even more then no thanks.
@@CarlsSimGuides At least there's music while they're getting married. It's really quiet while they're saying the vows?
😂 iconic, isn't it?
I mean, we should know at this point that EA is great at making trailers not gameplay
To be honest, I'm surprised the trailer managed to work for this pack.
@@corabeani I cannot imagine how long it takes to make the trailers if the gameplay is so unresponsive
@@TheShowerofSlime Well, they do pay animators for new animation that is only in the trailers too. That's the workaround.
@@j.stanley1669 I think Luumia is behind this because he hired by EA long time ago
@@j.stanley1669 that was probably half of their budget for this pack..
This is where rehearsals should have come in. Rehearsals should have been used for players to set a time slot for everything so on the wedding all you have to do is watch it unfold. Wedding at 9am, toast at 2pm, etc. I tested the base game wedding lot and sims only ran in a circle on the lot as if they had no idea about what to do on it.
This is a really cool idea. I was sort of interested in the pack but if it's just a click fest for screenshots with no spontaneity and barely any new animations or anything then seems like a wait for deep discount for me lol. Not worth the very big price tag we get in Canada for basically just a world with only 9 lots.
That's a great idea. And if you choose not to/ can't have a rehearsal, there should be an increased chance of things going wrong. Like dropping the rings, the guests doing rude interactions at one another, flower child having a tantrum, people being dressed wrong, etc. I don't like how sanitized the game is. It's like nothing bad ever happens to my sims! But alas, that would take an actually functional game to implement.
@@ob1634 Love these ideas too! I mean to be fair at the end of the video we saw none of the guests dressed according to plan which I assume happens during the event planning stage lol
@@thestellarelite What I want to know is where they get off having a trailer about leaving your spouse at the altar and running away with the maid of honor and then the actual gamepack has zero drama allowed and even sims that hate you are overjoyed to participate in your wedding (participate being a strong word, of course, given the bugs).
@@Solutad This x1000000. They are going way too far creating these teaser trailers that are a complete LIE. This pack brings some CAS, Build Buy, an updated event planner, a world, but very little game play which is the most important? I feel like they've completely forgotten what that means lol.
No one suspected a thing when that kid brought a full pantry worth of random cooking ingredients to the wedding in a bulging backpack. The time to strike was at hand.
It shouldn’t of made me laugh like it did
🤣👌🤣👌🤣👌🤣👌
Honestly wish they would just bring back Sims 2 cutscenes. Made special events like first kiss, births and weddings WAY more special. Plus then you wouldn’t have to deal with all of Sims 4 frustrating bs. (Not taking seats, doing random stuff like push-ups or just not doing anything at all!)
No random getting water from a public bathroom sink!!!!
Oh my god I completely forgot about those cutscenes. I forgot I liked them so much and it actually felt like an achievement to get them. Whereas in Sims 4 you can meet someone fall in love and get married within the space of a day and none of it feels special.
The animations for the activities in general outside of the cutscenes we're so much better in the sims 2...
@@veanell the sims 2 is so cartoonish that looks way more alive than TS4. Sims on TS4 looks like robots.
The amount of micromanagement in this pack is crazy. The Sims 4 usually looks like a movie set and now you actually control it like one, telling all the actors what to do
i remember that my fav moment of the sims 2 and 3 was when i had a big family to run and have fun with and now i can barely handle parents + kid because of how useless they are at handling themselves
Micromanagement is fine as long ss they work but they don't even work 😐
Micromanaging has been a thing I have done in the Sims 3 willingly to keep things smooth - It never really got too much. I could actually trust them things. Sims 4 however made micromanaging hell. I HAD TO DISABLE mean, mischievous, and now even FLIRTY interactions through MCCC because no Sims 4 sim seems to understand what the hell boundaries are!
@@KH0LRA yeah, I don’t get why Sims 4 sims have a hard time doing what you tell them to. It’s lowkey disrespectful. Is it the multitasking feature? It was nice going back to playing Sims 3 since they all do what I say when I say to do it
I wish there was variation in the sim's reactions at the wedding. Like family/parents with good relationships might cry over their child getting married, some sims might imbibe too much at the toast and become dazed... Sims that help the spouses get ready in the bathroom. And if one spouse sees another's wedding outfit early, "bad luck" as in a chance to comically fail some or all of the wedding activities. And if the activities dont go perfectly, a chance for one of the spouses to lose it and become a "x-zilla" and rage in a unique way. Oh yeah, and little things like "jumping the broom" Also, where's the unrequited love possibility? The trailer seemed to imply that'd be a feature but I've yet to see it. I thought there'd be an attraction feature added (like bolts from sims 2 maybe?), to provide depth to relationships..? But maybe that was my assumption? There are so many little ways they could've been creative with this pack. And the fact that its mostly set dressing, and that cake decorating isn't even a career too... Like, c'mon.
So much yes to ALL of this! And this would make the events so much more interesting. At this point there’s no difference between a bach party, a rehearsal, and wedding because it’s all like….eat, make toast, talk, leave. Zero personality :/
I want guests to look at the groom and bride while they walk the aisle and watch them when they exchange vows. I want everything in that trailer but none ever works 😐
I would love a feature where if one of your sims still has a romantic relationship with a sim that they are not marrying, that sim shows up and tries to break up the wedding. I think the sims 4 needs a little more chaos in the game.
Yea I mean they have traits??? They can have reactions differ based on traits
Honestly i love your ideas. That would make the pack worth buying. I would rather have these gameplay options over the world
You know what would've been nice? If *everything* in the trailer was actually part of the GP. The planning. The preferences. The drama. And where are the other wedding traditions? They made such a huge deal out of finally adding functional tea sets... but even that is just a skeleton base instead of something nicely fleshed out, and barely any different from the drink trays...
WHERE ARE THE ONE SIDED CRUSHES
@@Orangecataura something i want for gameplay so bad !!
I really want to make a compilation of simmers when they are yelling at their sims while playing this pack =)))
I'd watch it
I'd watch it too
Please do
That would be funny. Pixelade had a great reaction when he saw his wedding cake was expired and already had a piece missing. 😂
@@faithssims6159 OMG that was too funny😂😂
we all won when Carl started making mods
The best comment right here, Jesus...💀
we lost when people even had to mod stuff that's supposed to be essential in the game... and for free too.
Won what? Celebrating unpayed people working their butts off to make a mediocre game decent for free? A win for who?
"and the child is probably going to make a mess" never fails to happen 🤷🏼♀️
I love that they make sure everyone says "this is not the final product" even though we all know that functionally it is.
Why they don't hire modders to do the scripting in the first place is beyond me. I mean, you're better than whoever actually works there, and you're used to working for peanuts. Unless their scripting is done by garden gnomes or something, I am not sure how they could lose. They have already left a lot of the house building to KZheadrs in recent packs, I see, and it got better finally.
They only hire game changers to give them fake good reviews.
@@saltycat662 Still, the houses are better now. Admittedly they were rather terrible in the past.
@@saltycat662 Plumbella has been really open and honest about how trash this is
Because they/EA seemingly aren't willing to spend hardly anything on the game. It's getting worse and worse. To hire modders would cost money just like giving the current team the time and resources needed to make the game playable. I don't think the problem is incompetence at all.
@@saltycat662 Vixella is a game changer and she has many things to say about the new pack 👀
It‘s kind of odd that they don‘t watch the first dance on their own, because in a way it is much like the dance battle from gtg (dance floor gets cleared and everyone gathers and watches) and those usually work for me … or worked, now I scared to check if they still do.
I appreciate your amazing modding skills but they shouldn’t release a broken game and rely on modders to fix it. I will pass on this.
Exactly! For the prices they charge for these packs, we shouldn't have to mod them just to play them 😑
This ... I'd rather pay a modder then them I am more than satisfied with ten worlds in my game so pretty world can't get me to buy pack anymore From now on I need more
Especially when they add an update after the mods were released just to make them obsolete and unoperable.
The line has to be drawn somewhere, i wonder when most simmers will draw that line because i'm beyond over watching other people enable EA. Things will never change if the community wont put their foot down and it's stupid.
I can wait for the sims 5, i like other games anyway in the meantime. If the same people end up on the sims 5 team then i'll quit the sims 5 too. Since they don't intend on fixing the game, only offering dumb stuff that most people don't ask for also making useless updates and nothing but packs, broken packs at that, then i don't need to play their mediocre game.
It seems insane to me that a pack is so close to release in a state like this. In a normal game, a wedding is next to impossible to do. Nobody will ever sit down or do the (only) available interaction, which is watch the damn ceremony. This is true for a lot of group activities, Sims would just stand around and either talk or literally go to sleep in your bed for hours instead of doing the activities. They never bothered to fix any of it, but release a pack that assumes it all works? Sure why not who cares, they're all gonna buy it anyway...
It seems sims are compelled by the code to just talk... What happens if you outright disable free will? Does this still happen exactly like before?
@@Wiimeiser No. Playing with free will off massively improves the game.
I forget where I saw this suggestion, but seeing how messy the event was even after you fixed things made it so much more apparent how needed this is. The rehearsal dinner should be for arranging the order of things to happen at the wedding, and the wedding itself should run as a playlist of actions like a cutscene. That would leave the player space for photos, screenshots... or a whole album like in Dream Home Decorator where they make a montage with your pics... or just an auto-generate album of preset wedding photo poses with your sims copypasta-ed in.
omg, i love this idea so much !! now i'm sad that we'll probably never be able to actually play it like that... if you compare your suggestion (or whoever came up with it) to the actual game play, i'll without a doubt never be able to fully enjoy it... even if it was bug free - it's shallow and boring...
Can EA just hire you already please. This is ridiculous, how much you're showing them up. You're a blessing to this community.
EA should try to hire him and after that he should answer "NO" just to demostrate that a single game changer can do better works than a multimillionaire company with thousand of programmers and a design company behind of a big project.
@@joseangel4524 And, no, he doesn’t want free ear buds either.
I don't know if that would do any good. If EA were to hire him, he would have to play to their rules...
and you want him being controlled by them? really? for me, it's a big NO, I also said this over an hundred of similar comment like you, it's better for them (modder, cc creators) to not hire by such greedy company like EA.
@@joseangel4524 Haha..multi-million dollar company? Try $37 BILLION dollar company, that is the valuation of EA as a company.
This makes me nostalgic about my Sims 2 weddings. The nice music playing, the cutest cut scene of couple exchanging rings at the arch, other sims watch and react. Then cake cutting, toast, sims dance, slow dance, eat from buffet table and talking to each other. After that couple gets a memory of a great wedding. Or you can easily sprinkle in some drama 😏 It was so much fun every time and wait… IT WAS ALL BASE GAME. And if you have bon voyage expansion couple goes on ✨actual✨ honeymoon in one of the THREE different vacation worlds with a lot of unique activities and omg HOTELS. And the best part of it is EVERYTHING WORKS PROPERLY! Now, my question is… do we really need Sims 4 in our lives? 😂
Moral of the story, i am gonna go play Sims 2 if you don’t mind
@@MayLina honestly i would love to see the community come together to try and make an unoficial remaster/spiritual sucessor to the sims 2. we've got so many great designers and programers
@@AreweAble it wouldn't be really hard to do I guess? I'll be honest I have pirated ultimate collection and it works perfectly fine, all fixes it needed were 4gb patch, resolution (quick fix in game files) and definitely, it needs a lot of clean up and fixes preventing corruption. It is such a perfect sims game, I wish it had been introduced to more new players
@@AreweAble and they should also bring in other people who would each specialize in certain important aspects. I'd gladly help with fleshing out gameplay ideas if this were to happen!
Yeah I’ve gone back to playing sims 2 as well. I have to do too much work to create stories in the sims 4 and sims 3 is too laggy and crashes way too often for me to enjoy (I just need a better pc tho). But sims 2 is such a great game, way ahead of its time.
It's really disappointing this is not only a lackluster pack (Really, EA? Just wedding functions?), but it's also another buggy mess they'll probably take a few months to patch up, or... not at all, just look at Dine Out still. Sigh.
Oh dine out.... so broken..... 😭
@@stefanied3219 the upcoming pack (before it become like this - this situation) is actually the dine out 2.0 if anyone didn't notice the glitch
Yeah im real sad they have no online dating or somethinh
Yeah, and at least Dine out add something new, this pack recycled same ideas, or new interactions, that you could have done by gathering people in groupe and have them eat at the same time the cake, sit on the bench, or make a toast, or dance... there is only the slow dance that is new, and may be the toast glasses, the cake cutting, although we already have the feed a bite to your significant other base game... I don't know, for a gamepack, this is super shallow.
They don't care about this game anymore. Haven't for awhile. Sims 3 was the last game they actually tried on
The fact that a mod is needed at all to make the scenario actually work is kind of sad.
I expect they will fix some things, but I also expect that my straightforward approach to knocking Sims off their autonomy bs will be more desirable to players. Since they took the 'player tells Sim everything to do' approach, then the Sims need to be responsive to those commands. That's my take, anyway.
The way the sims throw rice at the bride over on the toilet was hysterical. It was like they were cheering for her poop success. Lol
“Hollow” has been the gold standard for The Sims 4 since release day.
Carl in Thanos' voice: "Fine, I'll do it myself"
This to me just further shows that the bulk of the big important devs at the studio has been moved to TS5, and only a skeleton crew is left to scrounge up what few content areas are left.
Well tbf the Sims 4 was always a hot mess. The AI is insanely stupid.
I'd believe you if lackluster packs like island living, broken packs like dine out, and the bare bone and shallow base game didn't exist. If the bare bone base sims game is the best these so called "big important devs" can do then these smaller devs who were allowed to make the paranormal stuff pack are vastly better and under appreciated.
@@anomalytenacious think of the quick profit that kits have brought, vs paranormal which likely required way more dev resources than previous stuff packs (and it shows as it's still the best one), they have shuffled the teams in the past but I think they're really messing it up right now
Id rather a whole completely new team work on the sims 5... I dont want anything or anyone from this game touching it.
Am I surprised? No. Am I disappointed? I MEAN HELL YEAH. HOW IS IT SO BAD?!?!
I’ve always wondered if EA has ever taken note to how much Carl improves the Sims. I also wonder why and how they never thought to hire him onto the team. The franchise as a whole would be so much better
Child sim - You didn't choose ME to be the ring bearer, have flour and chocolate all over your floor, repeatedly as i stare into your eyes. I know they say they're gonna 'fix' it, the day it releases, but that's gonna have to be one hell of a patch to fix all that, though watching those who got this has been both amusing and kinda what the hell in general.
Great Job Carl!! But I’m starting to think nobody on the Sims team can program for jack or they need a better testing phase before getting stuff out to the game changers so the dlc in question is in a better condition than what it is. Cuz Wedding stories is a disaster from what I’ve seen so far.
I'm thinking they might have contracted out this pack. The pay there is notoriously low, and the pressure as high as any AAA gaming studio. They may have pushed people too far and been left with too few developers when they needed them most and had to hire randos who didn't know the codebase to build this. It's the only explanation that would make sense for me.
remember dine out? this is just a dine out 2.0
This is why I can't get back into Sims 4, you did a great job, Carl, fixing the broken wedding release, rallying the sims attention, and making them sit in and go to their proper places, but you're 100% right about "busy work"; there's no soul, there's no expression, it doesn't really feel like anything is happening, it feels like a bunch of robots doing what they were programed to do, in the most mundane way possible. The Sims 4 is the first game I've ever played that made me feel like I was playing a game; a LIFE SIMULATOR, the first game in my 29 years of life, to make me think "X can't happen because the game didn't program it", the first time I've ever contemplated a game's limitations, and I've played Pong. The older sims had personality, you can get the sims to listen and participate, but their reactions were unique to their personality and relationships with all the parties involved; when sims didn't pay attention, it was to do something silly like start a fight, or slap a cheating partner, or monkey around with friends because the adults were too boring. It was annoying if you wanted a uniformed, magazine wedding, but it was drama, it was funny, it was REAL. No mod can simulate this, because the game didn't program it; the sims doesn't have personality, the "depth" we've all been screaming for. You won't have parents crying at the alter for unique reasons (happy their child is growing up, or worried their child choose poorly), or ex gate crashing, angry cheaters delivering slaps, or drunks acting a fool once the they had one or too many. Sims idles are to just dance, swish their hips and tap their feet, or grin like idiots, even the cellphone fiddling just seem lampshaded as "idle"; and since there's no personality, every. single. sim will do this, even the crotchety scrooge or the intellectual elderly, which makes it feel hollow and pointless, no matter how buggy or fixed the finish product is.
This is poetry. Thank you.
love your post, just wanted to point out that cheated on partners do slap their spouse (only if they do it to their face lol) sorry if it seemed like a nitpick, i do like your post!
@@ladyarmourlapras No, you're good, it sounds like they updated and "fixed" it. I haven't played the sims 4 since 2019 (for the very reasons I listed, that I believe still stands today), I'm still watching content, and watching as many simmers whine and complain about the soullessness of it, and the last I heard, cheating was barely acknowledged (sometimes the sim would cry, but after, would smile in their cheater partner's and the side pieces face, and joke about llamas, or something); I'm sure it's been "updated" now, but go and look at Sims 1, 2, 3, & 4 comparison videos to see how cheating is regarded, there's a few from Pleasantsims in regards to cheating (she does it with the Pancakes, and the reaction is... lackluster at best); there's another account I can't remember, because I fell out of caring about sim history; and I've seen a few example from Whiny Brit, who I still watch today, but they all show how a lacking towards a sim's response to cheaters are (I'm assuming the "sentiments" update is what "brought the life"). It's still hollow, it's still empty, and it still lacks any drama, all surface level pretend. But it's okay, I don't mind you pointing out when I'm "wrong", even if it's minor, I just want you to know that this post was a full reflect of my own game experience (which, of course, was pretty dated at that time), but I'm confident saying it because even a year ago, when I made this post, the sims 4 still didn't slap their cheating lovers (maybe it was a bug, and only some simmers experienced it?). So, in light of the times, I was 100% right and justified, then. I'm glad they do now, I guess, but what I say to a lot of Sims 4 content: "Too little, too late"...
The sad part is, even when you fix the pack to work as it’s supposed to, it’s hollow like you said. My base game wedding has more life and personality. Like these sims look like they’re having no fun. It’s sad because I would like some of the new parties and clothes, but it would totally ruin my weddings. Absolutely not getting this pack
I'm so sad. I've been dying for more family gameplay and this is what we get. Thank you for all your work on this game!
once again we praise carl
As a mom of two can confirm kids will make messes or get into things no matter the environment and they will make eye contact. 🤣😂
I don't even like or care about weddings in the game but I clicked on this because I knew you would be entertaining and probably give me some ideas on how to enjoy them. Thank you for continuing to make content.
Tbh I immediately elope all my sims. It saves time especially when I am trying to move out sims. I just wish they would let me choose which one is the main house.
@@SilkKimono I do the same.
In Sims 2 the guest and wedding party (bride and groom) automatically changed clothes. What happened to the meter that would show you how well the party/group/date is working out and how long you have to fix it. I thank EA for adding this to Sims 4, but they did it better in Sims 2. Oh, and somebody need to "talk" to that child on how to act in public.
i think it would be nice to make sims watch the first dance and then give them a push to slow dance the couple’s done
Yes! It would be nice if the other guests clapped or something and then started their own slow dances afterwards.
I don't even know what to say Carl. You've been saving me with this game for years and years. You're like the king of the Sims franchise. Thank you!
Wow. This is just upsetting. So many love this game and EA expects us to just hand over our money for hot mess, to be fine with the bare minimum…. I appreciate you and all the mods in this community. It wouldn’t be a playable game without you all. ❤️💕💜
EA expects us to pay money for this mess because it has always worked until now. Think about it...
"and EA expects us to just hand over our money for hot mess" Why wouldn't they though? They don't have an incentive to do anything better because the community always ends up buying junk and EA dont expect them to demand better.
@@benn8793 Until now? Dude they still ended up getting what they wanted. Even the live stream of the pack sucked and people still bought it falling for the hype. Complaining after when anyone with common sense could see it coming a mile away does nothing, they already made their money and they don't even address anything. I had hope for the game but the community killed it because you can only do so much when there are thousands upon thousands of other people doing the opposite of you making it harder for change to happen. The community are enablers and it will never change. Even if this pack worked perfect in the promotional videos i still would not buy it personally because I WANT THE BASE GAME AND OTHER BUGS FIXED. I'm not supporting them through their packs when they have a broken game.
@@citrusbutter7718 Yes. I always find it hard to believe when I read all the hype comments under a trailer. People should really know better. I haven't bought an add-on on release since Sims 4. I buy most of them, if at all, on sale. I usually stay away from the smaller packs. Not to mention the kits.
@@benn8793 They're even disrespectful of what people ask for. I'm late to the party so i haven't been aware of anything about the sims 4 up until 2 years ago. My brother got me the game in early 2020 during the lockdowns, but around late 2021 ive seen people complaining about the lack of stuff for male sims, like their cloths look sloppy on them, there's too little clothes for them and what they do have is too boring and standard, that whenever they introduce things to the game females get most of the new items, and seeing people asking for more male clothing. After a while then i heard sim streamers talking about a new pack with masculine clothing and everyone getting excited, only for them to offer clothes from a designer who designs ugly clothes like frumpy sweaters with holes cut into them with skirts...... So people been saying for years they want more male clothes and that's how it translates to them? And they cant claim it wasn't on purpose because look at all the packs they've had since where the females still get most of the interesting new stuff, and this dumb wedding pack is the cherry ontop with only 1 male hair.
I am here to watch this even though I know full well it’s going to make me sad because I can’t use mods seeing as I’m on console 😂😂 but I also want to support your work so here I am!
I'm not buying this pack before it's on sale, and then only for the world, but thank you! I'm very curious to see what happens at release, because this is just embarrassing. And, am I imagining it, or is the walk different when sims are wearing the big, floofy dresses? The bride in the livestream seemed to have a...cowboy walk? Like her feet are miles apart. Is that new, or has it always been that way? I mostly build, but I noticed it bc it looked so ugly on top of everything else.
At this point it’s embarrassing to be a sims fan. I wish that the kits were just different worlds that they released. If they did that I’d likely never buy another game pack or expansion pack.
Might have to keep an eye out on CD keys. Wanted to buy on release but it has to be basically bug free before I buy it
I noticed that too. Looked a bit like a pregnant sim's walk, but I don't think the sim actually was pregnant. Yet another weird thing...
Don’t buy it at all. It’s a vicious cycle.
@@grngoblin1015 I saw the pinnacle of them in Lilsimsie's comments. "I only got the pack because i only want the teacupt set"..... Claims to buy a $30.00 broken game pack for a lousy teacup set. But wonders why EA thinks they're idiots.
Taking your seats, watching bride and groom exchange vows and then throw rice on bride while she's sitting on the crapper. Sounds like traditional ceremony.
Thank you for releasing your fix for free. I appreciate that. I'm your Patreon, and I was just thinking how irresponsible of EA/Maxis is to release a pack that is not even functioning properly. I mean this is one aspect of the game, and they couldn't even expand that aspect of it without bugs and glitches. Or at the very least have it function decently. I remember when they released Cats and Dogs, they said they wanted to focus on those two pets, so that they feel more than before. But honestly, Cats and Dogs don't feel more than Sims 1,2 or 3 cats and dogs (my pets in the Sims 2 can have careers). And I feel this is the same thing with this pack, I initially would have loved this to be more of a romance pack rather than just a wedding pack. But when they announced it to be a wedding pack, I was honestly excited-- especially when they said that you could ask for parent's blessings, which by the way, I have not seen yet in any video. Is that even something you can do? But now after seeing (SOME) EA game changers highlight the bugs and glitches I am very much so disappointed at this pack. I am not buying it until they fix this pack. I know it's "not the final build", but c'mon, let's not kid ourselves, we all know they're not gonna fix anything when this actually release. This pack feels more like a stuff pack.
I'm sure the blessing is a thing but no one has checked it out yet because everything else was so awful. It's probably exactly like the children asking for a parent's blessing at the child festival in Snowy Escape. But I also wouldn't put it past EA to just drop that idea cold.
YOU'RE MY OFFICIANT! 😂 AAAAAAAA that laugh killed me. Love you Carl!
I will not be buying this pack as it is pointless, however you are a true gift Carl, honestly Sims 4 does not deserve you!
Carl, you are so appreciated! Thank you once again for your stellar performance on this ever-buggy game.
Maxis is a shell of the amazing, creative, quality company it used to be. Thank you Carl!
You really are a godsend to this community. Thank you for all that you do to make the game better!
What would EA do without Modders? Seriously. Thank you for clocking in, when EA clocked out. You've saved this pack for the whole Sim Community. THANK YOU !!!
Honestly, we need an INSTANT RESPONSE mod/fix for the entire game. Like every time you ask any sim to do anything or perform any interaction with an object, it should have an instant response - like yours did with the champagne bucket. That should be the whole game. EA should spend a whole year not releasing crappy packs and just work on that if they need to. It would already make the game 100x better.
Instant response? They need time to fix stuff properly or it'll just be broken garbage
Carl, this community would be lost without you. Your amazing guide for Sims 3 and 4 and now your mods. ❤
"isn't it great? They've shut up!" Too true 🤣
It’s amazing what you did, and I know it sucks how broken this is…but the kid making the messes (plus your commentary) made my whole day, and I can’t stop laughing.
I really miss the cut away scenes we used to get in Sims 2! That really added something to story progression!
As soon as I saw how buggy this games was when Game Changers started releasing videos, I instantly thought "can't wait to hear what Carl has to say" and "can't wait for Carl's mod fix for this," haha! This pack is a horrible mess, I've seen outdated mods work better, smh. And the fact that they focused only on weddings and nothing else is extremely disappointing. No honeymoons? No better proposals? No proper wild "bach" parties? No one-sided crushes/unrequited love (like in the trailer)? No dating or romance overhaul? This would have been the _perfect_ pack to finally implement an attraction system! Not to mention, no wedding drama?! Where's the objections, for heaven's sake, or getting left at the alter! A wedding planner career, black widow aspiration, a bridezilla trait, a hopeless romantic trait, a monster-in-law trait/sentiment, nectar, etc. would have been great to add to this as well. Even wedding traditions from other cultures would have been neat. Not even a heart-shaped bed or hot tub, smh. Honestly, they really dropped the ball with this, and not just because of the bugginess. I'm so glad you're putting in the time and effort to fix this mess of a "pack." I don't know if this possible, but it would be neat if the Sims could be smarter in _where_ they stand during the interactions; for example, during the first dance, if the guests could stand around the edge of the dance floor (instead of on it) and the couple could stand directly in the middle of it (would also be neat if the guests would start slowing dancing themselves once the couple finished); or during cake cutting/toasts, if the guests would leave the area directly in front of the object clear for just the couple/the one giving toasts. An option for giving seated toasts at the dinner tables would be neat too, with the requested toast giver being the only one standing; I don't know how possible that is, though. With the mod allowing guests to actually sit on a timer, would it be possible to just implement a queue for the wedding, if only for that small area/portion of the wedding around the arch? Like, after the guests take their seats, to queue up the flower pal, ring bearer, walk down the aisle, vows, kiss, and rice throwing, so that it happens more smoothly and without the couple moving away from their spot or running off to do other things (like use the bathroom 😅). And maybe to give the kids something to do instead of defaulting to making messes, maybe they could blow bubbles instead? Or dance I guess, haha.
Don't worry; it's such a buggy mess that it'll take all day to get the vows out and then one Sim in the couple trying to get married will autonomously leave the venue because they're exhausted. THAT'S how they get left at the alter; no need to fix anything, it's a feature. /s (lol Seriously it happened in Dr. Gluon's first wedding episode.)
Bless you Carl for doing what EA doesn't: care
I just can't believe you have to fix their broken code! It's amazing what you've done for this community. I have a genuine question: do you have back pains from carrying the franchise on your back all these years?
As a console player, thank you for your condolences. Much appreciated 😂
They need more fun wedding party activities there’s no gameplay. And more romance options. A cute boat date and dinner on the boat with an engaged or just married couple would have been great in this new ocean world like… there’s no new gameplay I swear it’s almost all reused animations
right? it would’ve been the perfect place to have your sims honeymoon too! :(
I'm dying at Lonely Recess during the wedding. I'm getting this pack because I just want the new world.
I am absolutely thankful for your videos and input.
With how you have to tell everyone to do literally every step screams of Sims 4 as a doll house rather then an actual game. How can anyone besides 6 year old girls find this fun?
Actually if this was a full doll house it would have been fun, but this is $0.99 picture of a doll house at best. A full doll house game would have let players control everything from what sims appear in what world and do certain things, you'd have control of festivals and when they would appear and you'd be able to design their set up, you'd have control over what worlds had what weather. If this game was a full on doll house, MCCC would pretty much have been a feature of the game where you can set up the entire world to act a certain way, and then play in the world you created.
6 year old girls won't automatically have fun either; the point of a video game is it's interactive. They could find an electronic doll or a toy pet with better AI.
I'm not gonna buy this pack, but thank you for your work as always! EDIT: Just like DHD, the "gameplay" in this pack is hollow and borderline nonexistent. Most of these things already existed in the Base Game.
You're amazing! Thanks for all you do!
Please re upload this, my wedding stories are still beyond broken without it
Appreciate your work here man! We all thank you for this
I love your work. Thank you for putting so much care into this!
Such a shame that the sims team can not do what you have done themselves! Well done to you!
The Sims community is so lucky to have you! But all bugs and things not working at all aside, I find it very troublesome EA will ask 20 euros for a pack that lacks depth, only revolves around a particular event and adds minimum gameplay. Broadening up weddings should have been a basegame update or a feature of parenthood. The world is beautiful but I want to play this game for the gameplay not just for nice views and good lighting..
I feel the something extra is allowing the player to set the players and have this turn into a fully animated cut screen where players just sit back and enjoy the wedding progress after the planning is done Seriously Commence ceremony Gather for toast and cake Watch first dance With close ups of the animation they are selling us
My thoughts as well. I'd prefer planning the wedding and then sitting back and watching the whole ceremony go from start to finish without needing any input from me. One long animation where everyone does what they're supposed to do. Is it possible to assign guests a number and then each seat during the ceremony and at the reception is also numbered, so Sims don't have to route using AI? They just go to their assigned spot and then act appropriately. Great work Carl, I love your videos and your work to improve the game.
I really don't know what we would do without you. Wow, this pack is an even bigger mess than I thought, but I really appreciate your fixes - this will make it so much better!
Basically it needs a “everyone on their best behavior” command 🤦♀️
Thank you for all you do Carl!
I love how you immediately knew the kid was going to start making a mess. I really enjoy learning about how the sims works too. The terms you used like “routing”, “broadcast”, and how you figured out that sims were trying to sit but then picked a seat that was already filled and that’s why they go into doing random stuff
Carl fussing over everything going wrong in the wedding as if he's the bride 😂 love your reviews and guides, they're the only ones I trust cuz u do them with total honesty.
Thanks for the fixes Carl. You're the best and your laughter is genuinely heartwarming.
Can't believe EA actually is selling you a feature that probably the 90% of time is skipped because of time wasting since you can just wed by selecting a single conversation without event.
If weddings were interesting people might bother with them in game. That was the idea for selling this pack but it failed.
i used to throw weddings in sims 3 all the time!
@@j.stanley1669 Is the problem with weddings, it's an event you do once in a while, you don't engage all the time, unless you play all the families or divorce and marry again every single time, but that's a kind of "fun" to specific to try, there's not an actual gameplay in that, it's not like becoming a vampire, a playable job, a watching how the season change time by time, that's actually gameplay in a way, you're always there or optional, not once.
@@parkouremaster Yeah. In Sims 4, it might be better if you're playing family legacies on a short life span and some rotational play, gives it more impact, but then there's a time constraint too so having it this messy and micromanaged doesn't help. It needs to be more fluid and easy or at the very least engaging in some way. EA built it for videos and then failed that lol.
Carl, you are awesome, thank you for the fixes you have done.
Thank you so much for these fixes! You’re an angel🙏🏽🤘🏽
Carl should be a Guru at this point, he’s doing the work the sims team should be doing, all out of the kindness of his heart. Carl you’re the sims savior right now.
Thank you for doing the improvements!
All hail our Sims 4 saviour, Carl 🙌 Great work as usual, and thank you for everything you do to make the game playable. You make a really good point about the fact that kids don't have anything to do on the pre-made venues, and so they default to making a mess; it's pretty similar to what happens in reality, to be fair! Perhaps it's an unpopular opinion, but I actually don't mind kids occasionally making messes - it can sometimes be fun to have a little bit of Chaos or can make for some good storytelling. The problem is that there is no way to have your controllable sims manage the situation if that's not what you want. It would be cool to have a "BEHAVE" button, like the "LEAVE" button you made for dates, that automatically causes the child to stop making the mess and clean it up. Again, thank you for everything you've done!
Just recently found this channel and it is a very healthy mixture of funny, helpful, and informative great content and keep up the great work
Wow, nice improvement! And yes lights, outside does not always light up, their appearance looks like they are, but no light projected on surfaces. I have notice it mainly but not exclusively in the Snow festival in Mont Komorebi, there are supposed to be blue and pink lights that make the landscape look stunning at night, now, its a pitch of darkness.
This pack is BUGGY AF, why do the Gurus think it's smart to show this off while it's in the buggiest mode ever, the AI in the Sims 4 are the dumbest AI in any of The Sims Franchise and that is saying quite a lot about the AI.
Exactly. It was buggy even when they were doing the livestream. They should be embarrassed of themselves.
The whole game is buggy as hell
@@saltycat662 They probably are, but they too scared to show their embarrassment.
@@Orangecataura Fair enough and it has been like this since 2014 and it's only gotten worse as the years went by.
Yeah, what is going to happen if they keep releasing more and more packs? At some point the game will be unplayable for litteraly everyone. And yet they don't want to let go of TS4 yet. I love the game but I can't help but think of how disastrous this game is becoming... Imo it is time to realise that the game has reached its limits and EA has to move on to TS5, which hopefully will have a better optimization.
You are a god! I haven't even tried to play it without this mod.
Thanks for all your hard work making the Sims4 experience better. I'm on console so it won't help me but still love the channel and appreciate all that you do!
lmbo this is the funniest video I've seen in a while. thank you
Thanks so much for your hard work in fixing this! Debating whether or not I’m going to get this even though I was sooo excited when I heard the announcement. This fix will help tremendously if I do get the pack.
Well done for trying, every thing I've seen about this EP is bugged but I am still keen to try it. I am sure that your fixes will make the entire gameplay easier and more natural just like you fixed the restaurants.
Bruh, thanks so much for this mod you really put so much work and effort into this mod for functional weddings, thanks once again mate you were there for us simmers when EA wasn't~
I'm just watching this video for the wedding stories drama but I never realised you made mods! I'm going straight to your page to find these and install ASAP Thank you for your efforts
This fix looks so much better than the actual gameplay I have seen. I cannot believe that you were able to do so much in so little time. You deserve so much praise for even attempting to make this game more playable. With that being stated, I love the mods, Carl! Thank you so much for helping us out.
Our hero, as usual. 😄 I wish it worked like clubs, where you can set requirements and they actually comply...adding an order of events would be great so you could sit back and watch instead of orchestrating in the moment...you know, PLANNED like a real wedding.
You are a genius! They haven't even reacted and you already solved most of our problems...
I have referenced and used your site for cheats for YEARSSSS and I never realized you had a KZhead until today!
I think it’ll be cool for the cake cutting to have the sims take photos, like how they would for celebrities.
How come ive never heardof Carl before? thank goodness for this!
Love these fixes, thank you!
