The Sims 4 My Wedding Stories is a new Game Pack coming February 17, 2022. I've summarized the EA Livestream of its new gameplay features to save you some time.

I like how during the stream, one of the gurus said “let me see if I can get the sims to sit together over here....” Yes, let’s see if you can successfully get sims to do an extremely basic feature that came with the base game. I mean, you’d think something like that wouldn’t be an issue, but here we are.
"This was working yesterday!" Yeah, if the developers fix the spaghetti code and simulation lag, it might actually make sims sit in 10 sim minutes instead of 40..

And it didn't work! I cringed when she wanted the couple to sit next to eachother on the fountain, and they end up on opposite sides of the fountain. She forces him to change place, and he sits there for a few seconds, kissed her and then got up to sit next to a stranger to chat
I was very skeptical of this pack since the speculations of it began. This stream and the summary really confirmed that this is not for me. It really should've been a romance pack instead of just weddings. Online dating, honeymoons, weddings planers/matchmakers to name a few features. Also this pack would've have been perfect for a town's fair with a ferris wheel, kissing booth, rigged carnival games, tunnel of love, etc. What we seem to get instead is another example of events that look pretty for screenshots but have very little gameplay.

Bless you, Carl, for not even attempting to hide your disgust at what is now - apparently - a "game pack". Shouldn't there be some... you know...Game in this "game pack"? That the livestream couldn't even avoid showing the bugs tells me all I needed to know. My money is staying in my pocket, sorry Sims team, you're good folks, but EA/Maxis must try harder.

@@cerenylmaz3497 There's a fairies and witches mod that is great! If you look up "fairy mod sims 4", you'll find it (it's on patreon but it's offered for free!) I have it in my game and it works great, and probably done a lot better than maxis/EA themselves can do at this rate 😒

Yeah this is ridiculous at this point. And the fandom will continue to line EA's pockets and nothing good will come of it. EA is scamming us and laughing all the way to the bank. I've deleted TS4 and I'm done.
But that's what everyone tells us, they are trying so hard (yes, hear my sarcasm) and all that rigamorole they did last year just proves they do not understand what The Sims is supposed to be and all the rigamorole they went through so supposedly understand seemed to have told them nothing or they did not listen or maybe they are all autistic or something (and I'm not saying that in a derogatory manner, my neice is autistic and thats how she acts, she just doesn't understand).
I'm so happy carl's channel exists. Here are the people who are sane, who doesn't glorify this kind of lackluster of whatever this is, as if they are on gun point.
This should've been a base game update. The world should have been for a different pack.
What they gave us: a window to give sim roles that we'll have to manually choose either way, food, clothes and furniture, maybe slow dancing and a generic world that doesn't look special What we could've get: wedding planning career (just reuse house designer system), synergy with get to work dlc with baker career, synergy with get to work with a wedding shop where sims can try on dresses, copy a lot from the sims 3 generations (dancers on bach parties, home movies camera), add a whole divorce process, honeymoons... ... I know that this is just a game pack but weddings are something more than just parties and planning, this pack is as cheaply made as possible and will be bugged 100%, they should've give us just another 10000 kits and then release a full wedding or generations-like dlc
and i bet the autonomy on any of these things will be 0. While autonomy for the 'view a piece of art' is at 100 :,D :,D

you summed it up perfectly. Also it was a way for them to create arranged marriages or (let's say it's too much for the audience) to ask the parents permission to marry someone before you actually can propose... stuff like that from different cultures
People say the HD career is kind of wonky, right? What if they made the exact same mistake?

Better this than paying full price for a pop up screen and a world with no unique features 🤷🏻♀️ if I have to pay for bugs I'd prefer to have something significant to bug not autonomy for the 1000th time. Also they should sit down and actually focus on fixing things instead of adding more fuel to the burning garbage that is bugs in sims 4, with each new pack they only add more bugs that make this game almost unplayable. like damn sims 3 is bugging a lot but I can actually play it for a couple generations while sims 4 drops frames on one family for no reasons. EA promised too much and now they are doing as always, baerly anything

I see the pattern in these packs. Reuse - add a couple new functions to existing assets, throw in leftover assets not used in previous packs. Reduce - limit assets and functionality for "the player's computer enjoyment". Not because of a lack of coding. Lastly, Recycle - I think we've seen all the recycling in this pack. It's irritating that ALL of this stuff should be in the base game, except the world. Sitting is basic. Where's the "woo-hoo" honeymoon pack?
I saw someone describe this as just getting the Generations pack of the Sims 3 divided into 10 different packs in the Sims 4... For full price each.

As soon as they gave us make "vacation lots" or whatever I made a honeymoon lot on Sulani, so there ya go. I bet they think they already have that covered
It's ceaselessly irritating to see the wedding cake & dress shops as.. wall vendors. Because the Retail & Restaurant features are separate pieces of DLC, ideas such as these can't develop. It's also salt in the wound, considering those packs are plagued, PLAGUED with bugs. Now, they're pitching a wedding pack? A situation where Sims are expected to enact a queue of activities? I'm still unable to convince my Sim to use the kitchen sink, as opposed to the upstairs bathroom, to wash plates!
exactly this. i got so tired of my sims washing dishes in the bathroom that now, whenever I move a family into a house, the very first thing I do is sell all the sinks and give them a trashcan to throw their dishes away instead :/

At least they could put the vendors in some kind of mall or make a wedding themed fair. These just look off.

what I found is they in the sims 4 they always advertise every last feature in the livestreams - "you can draw in the sand!" in sims 3, they had so much content that they were able to leave the player to discover more post livestream

there are still things in sims2 and 3 that I haven't done or discovered
Ok, so we did get some variety. The guru's said "It's so pretty" instead of "It looks so cool". I always say but what is there to do? And they said your sim could take a walk, even though there is not an option for sims to take a walk only go jogging. You did miss my favorite part, wherein they had to MANUALLY tell everyone to do their part of the wedding. My question is (and I think I don't really want the answer) what if the entire wedding party is not part of my household, how do I get them to do their part? To play their role. This really is for people who do stories. They gave a good backdrop for it and created roles for sims to play. The only good things I can see is that there IS a world we can move sims into and slow dancing.
And the tea set..Though that might just be me cause I like historical game play so I get more excited to see items I can finally use. You have no idea how excited I was about that type writer in cottage living lol.
I kept thinking, we can make it look good on screenshots for our stories, but it's very robotic
I'd say a simmer who does stories could set up a wedding on their own and get the same results as with this pack. I have the same worry (what happens when sim is not part of your family).
I think they should incorporate the group action. For weddings I’ll have a sim grouped w/ wedding guests, and make the group sit to watch the ceremony or dance so they’re not acting out of pocket.
@@songsayswhat well, they TRIED to show how that works by directing the child using the mother. The action was "ask to walk down aisle" or something like that. But if they are not in your family and they decide something is more important at that time, then you'll be out of luck!
After all this *riveting* new gameplay the sims team is showing us, I have to say... whens Paralives out again?

it's still in pre-alpha, so a couple of years :) they're working on live mode already tho! soon they'll be in alpha
@@ember9361 I know! I've been following development ever since I first heard about it, I was mostly just joking at the sims expense lol
Except paralives so far hasn't shown us any gameplay, only building and character creation
you make a good point about the art department being hands on deck and the coders seeming busy with something else. this pack is definitely filled with lots of nice aesthetics, lore, and customization options... but in terms of new solid gameplay it's lacking. there were also a lot of glitches and mishaps in the livestream alone. i wouldn't be surprised if they were dedicating more of their core gameplay resources towards sims 5
if they were dedicating to FIXING the packs I would be happy and forgiving, but its obvious they are not. My paranormal career is still not working
first off, just wanted to say that i really love your gameplay mod and all the little tweaks, keep up the great work! secondly, i was extremely excited for this pack, which is rare for me. but after that live stream, hoo boy. all the glitches and “it was working yesterday!” from the simgurus felt familiar, and curbed my enthusiasm a bit. seeing the bride hold the bouquet like a dang glass of water was hilarious and upsetting. and my gosh, the gurus really did seem to be allergic to highlighting the new features properly or even halfway focusing the dang camera to the right area! or even just making this pack look nice. if this had been a player livestream, i wouldn’t have been impressed lol. i really do wanna enjoy this and i hope with mods ( to even going to try this vanilla lol) it acts more smoothly. thanks again for the roundup carl! love your stuff.
Yeah. I don't know why they don't hire someone who is use to streaming and knows what they're doing. They are plenty of game changers( or whatever they are called now) to chose from.
Yes! I couldn't even finish their stream because it was a boring mess. I feel like we were catfished by that wonderful trailer (it might have just been the effect of the song tho tbh lol). It looked like they actually put tons of effort into this pack yet they then proved that it's just more of the same. It's depressing because we have 3 previous examples of how great this game could be
Yeah I couldn't tell how much was bugs and how much was incompetence. They kept mentioning features and not showing them. The flower girl not going down (if that was like a niece you couldn't x out the interaction), the bride wandering off, and people not noticing the toast weren't great though- hope they fix it. I will likely wait a bit for bugs to be ironed out. It seems like they did do a lot of work for this, they just left out a lot of stuff and did a lot of telling not showing
I am so glad to hear about his Mod! I downloaded it but couldn’t get to download properly!!! I do however love the idea and wholeheartedly support it!

"you can draw in the sand in Sulani, the ultimate crossover" 😂😂😂😂 I was wondering if I was the only one who not exited to have my sims do a generic hand gesture and have symbols appear on the ground! 😂
Thos basic animations just killed me. The sim wooshing their hand and the teapot appears while he is some distance away 😑 I was playing the sims 2 recently and just amazed at how they have proper animations for everything. Most objects that are interacted with have actual animations for their use. I was expecting them to actually be shown picking up the kettle and taking a stick to walk around and draw.... guess that's too much to ask when a game from almost 2 decades ago could do it.

It would have been dope if they had already included this with island living to begin with. The money grab is strong with EA tho. Someone’s going to still buy it, sadly.
this pack looks nice but in terms of gameplay there could've been more. attraction system, event planner career, online dating, death by heartbreak. sims 3 packs would be filled to the brim that you were left discovering new things each time you play.
Plus Sims 3 kept bringing in new things with each pack. I can't remember ANY reused animations in there. Even if one pack had a title like Ambitions it added MULTIPLE fleshed out careers, different outfits for all Sims, many objects, a world and a lot of gameplay. When they made Vampires I got excited because it added a lot of gameplay and objects for Vampires, as well as the world. Nowadays it just feels like their focus is on the world and to do as little as possible
Really love how they once again gave us big neighborhoods with very few lots in them
Well, its the same number as Del Sol Valley, and more than in Vampires or RoM, so its serious improvement in that area actually. Which is really really sad.
Honestly all I can think at this point is "Is that it?". Comparing this to other game packs, this is kinda disappointing, I was really excited for this pack when it was announced but it honestly feels like more of a free update than an entire game pack. I prolly won't buy it. Thanks for your review carl, you're legit my go-to person to watch when trying to figure out whether or not to buy a pack!
I agree. All these features can be added via free update. Just compare this game pack with vampires and RoM...
They've taken one main feature from a Sims 3 pack, added a medium sized world and called it a full game pack.
I know it will be given to me eventually, so I figure I'll get a new world and slow dancing and ignore the rest
Free update for the wedding event, rest is just a stuff pack. World might be nice, but nothing will be lost without it.

I'm just happy we can buy wedding cakes, not everybody wants to bake their own. I kinda wish the devs had shown the new foods, on the buffet table. They're obviously different then the foods from Luxury Party Stuff.
I almost always plan weddings for my Sims, after much trial and error I literally learned how to make them happen without any issues and it's fun for me. I personally will get use out of this pack (probably will pick it up during a sale tho). Realistically there's not much in terms of wedding gameplay? Except a new menu, new titles for same old parties and couple of new animations? And you can't hold the WEDDING bouquet in both hands? Pay for the cake but not the clothes? Wedding dresses being super expensive is a part of the whole process. It lacks details as usual.
Could you possibly tell what you do to get your weddings to go smoothly? Still trying to figure that out for myself.
@@ayanaivory5472 Oh sure thing! I'd like to point out that my strategy is more oriented towards effectively doing things for a goaled wedding event, but it should be helpful either way. 1. I started out with building a wedding venue, usually go for the Park lot type and place everything required for a park in an inaccessible basement. I go for smaller building, so Sims don't stray too far. I have loads of decorations, little gardens and stuff outside, but never anything that can be interacted with, like a chess table or a bench. I make the ceremony area with a wedding arch and seating. The second area is where the reception happens. Got my stereo, dance floor, bar, tables for guests to hopefully sit and eat at and tables for food and the wedding cake. It'll be good to have at least 2 toilets, more is better. Absolutely no kitchen. Not even a hint. 2. My advice is not to hire a caterer or an entertainer, but ESPECIALLY the caterer. I have never had caterers work properly in any setting. Make all your food beforehand (including the wedding cake) or use the buffet table from luxury party stuff if you have that stuff pack. Making two meals yourself I think is cheaper, if money's an issue. 3. I do all my weddings in a community venue. My Sims and guests load there together, in close proximity with each other. Guests take a while to arrive and some never arrive on time if the wedding/party is held at home. Once we're loaded in, I make a group. Either one big group, or I divide guests somewhat equally between the spouses to be. When I'm going for the goals half of them can do having bar drinks and half of them can eat. 4. I always put food/cake out after the ceremony, so Sims have less incentive to wonder around aimlessly. 5. Before the ceremony, I tell the group to either go closer to the wedding arch together or tell them to "Sit together". Once a good chunk of guests are either sitting down or closer to the arch, I immediately start the ceremony. I feel like the arch has an area of effect and if Sims are too far away, they don't get the memo that the ceremony started, but this is just my assumption. This gives you a good chance for most of the guests to sit down and watch. It will never be all of them, but it will be most of them, if it's a lucky day 😂 After the ceremony it's all about "Call to meal" for them to eat and then "Dance together" for some fun. I'm less controlling during the reception. Since the venue is really a park, you always get random sims joining in, but the new base game wedding lot type should help with that. I am sorry for this huge essay 😂 It still takes a lot of micro-management, but it's definitely less infuriating once you do it a couple of times. I hope it helps a little! ❤️

The livestream just made me more infuriated over the fact that we got this crappy, barebones pack over the original Love Life idea (that by theme alone was already fleshed out enough for a full GP) they proposed a couple years back via a survey. No, of course we had to get the smallest of crumbs possible, yet again. They clearly spent most of their time on the world. It makes me laugh how Paranormal, the last SP we got since the Kit-armageddon, has more new interactions and animations than this half-baked GP. The way they desperately tried to hype up the tea ceremony made me think we'll at least get new wedding traditions from around the globe, but nope!
What i would really like from the sims is the ability to remove things from the game i never use, without having to remove an entire game pack or expansion. Being able to keep what i like and remove/disable what i dont use would be good to help the game run smoother and have less stuff i have to scroll through. Itll never happen but itd be nice.
Sucks because I love how you can choose what you want to do in the wedding, the world looks great, and I like the many options to decorate the cake, but the wedding itself looks so laggy!! Sims are just standing around and looking bored... Not to mention that the CAS looks very early Sims 4, there are dresses from Cottage Living, a pack about living modestly in a cottage, that I would rather use for lavish wedding than all of the white dresses that was shown so far. CAS is such an integral part for this pack because it's wedding and I want my sims to look gorgeous but looks like I'm just gonna use my CC dresses again :/
The wedding dresses were so disappointing. Where is the lace? The layered skirts? The formal jump suits? The different shades of white?
Right? I thought I was the only one who didn't like the wedding dresses. They look so blah. And where are the tiaras and veils? I didn't see any although it was mentioned. Smh.
It would be nice to sew or knit your own wedding dress as well. I like the option to have a simple diy or a money-is-no-issue luxurious wedding for whatever way you play, but it doesn’t feel complete.
Glad I'm not the only person really disappointed in the CAS here. I thought the Modern Menswear Kit was a one off for bad CAS but this pack also has flat meshes and ugly textures. This genuinely looks like CC from over 5 years ago. I hate when clothes are just a solid colour with no texture, pattern, visual interest etc to them. It's especially disappointing when CAS is supposed to be a high point in this game. The Carnaval pack had an AMAZING top with 3D gems. Where was that effort for the wedding dresses here?
Thanks for the review, from what you have shown the game pack just looks like what a fleshed out complete base game should have had in the first place. Buildings being intractable rabbit holes, being able to walk around the world and interact with it and planning things in a calendar are all things that should have been base game. Its not to say I am not interested in the pack though, but it certainly doesn't feel like an exciting "game pack," instead it feels like a "its about time" base game patch. lol

@@sobruhkey I know it is, but I mean the new feature they are adding for events to it. That should have been base game feature, technically the whole function of the calendar should be base game with new packs not expanding on it, but making use of it.
@@anomalytenacious I agree your point. I wasn't saying that to undermine you. The base game is still **** and still needs improvement. I don't know how anyone plays without packs or mods. That being said, I wish they had had a lot in the middle of town--a new apartment building or something you could build a retail lot on.

Its funny to think that Arnie has inspired SimGuru devs to add open-world type of exploration in The Sims 4
I know right, who would have thought that making each individual world open so players could explore would have been a nice feature to make bikes meaningful. lol
Thank you so much for this! I was thinking when it was leaked that this should just be a free update not a whole pack. The fact it glitches out on the live stream is just a joke, proving yet again stuff is being released with bugs. This should not be a game pack and I will not be buying. Thanks Carl!
We are finally getting slow dancing. I just hope you can use it for more than just weddings.
Yeah they didn't really explain how it works. Is it tied to the music channel or dance floors or something? Can you make everyone slow dance at once or is it an interaction you have to choose? They were also dancing together in a different way it looked like before they had them slow dance
@@merchantfan it looked tied to the dance floor cuz they clicked on floor for it to start. There goes having my sims slow dancing in the kitchen 😢
@@gothbunie4932 I will be so bummed if this isn't tied to the stereos...and is included in the base game update. I mean, I can totally see them asking us to pay for slow dancing, but ugh, that would suuuuuck.
I wish there were more opportunities for a wedding or spouse related parties/activities to go wrong, like if you were to order a cake to be made and brought to the wedding its the wrong cake, or thr cake could be dropped and ruined during transport, to the groom losing a wedding ring to the bride getting into a fight with the maid of honor. Idk… SOMETHING, that signifies that this is a life simulator. Oh! And wedding rehearsals maybe going good or wrong too!
Yes! The Sims 4 lacks real life's unexpected events and chaos. It is so boring to play without mods installed. I'm not even talking about "supernatural" or "fantasy/sci fi" mods, just mods that make it more like real life.
The sims 3 had those, especially with the unlucky traits

Am I the only one who thought the gameplay mucking up during the livestream was embarrassing? The AI in this game is so dumb. Guests don't show up, people ignore toasts and of course the guests leave their dishes on the floor.
I'm hoping the pack turns out to be decent, goodness knows this is one of the few packs I DID ask for and I'd love to see it change how I do weddings in all my different saves. That livestream was as dry as unseasoned turkey and them not showing diff gameplay or making it look exciting is sad though, they REALLY should get content creators (AND PAY THEM OFC) to play these for these special streams so that way we can be entertained and also get a look at everything because devs aren't going to want to show it all in one go.
Tbh if Plumbella did these streams I'd at least be entertained. The gurus are so cringey
It's nice that you can have rich happy people having a fancy family friendly wedding, but I want TRASHY shotgun weddings, weddings on a major budget, the ability to object, cubic zirconia or even vending machine rings, and sims 1 strippercakes too.
When reading about honeymoon and bachelor parties all I wanted was strippers. Come on Sims, I don't want a certain mod to experience that

I have a feeling you'll be adding "making wedding stories suck less" to your to do list. I'm buying it for the world. I'll probably do a wedding once just to try it out and then elope immediately for the rest of time because that's what my sims usually do.

@@middleeasternforhire8985 I'm really confused (and scared) why they didn't show *that* in the gameplay because it was... literally in the trailer... like... no one cares about the flower child. Especially if you aren't at least going to give them a super cute outfit and long aisle to toss flowers on. but like... the trailer *showed* a best man and someone walking the bride down the aisle, so why not... show that off... unless it's one of the major bugs in which case... why do the livestream... I'm just very fearful and tired, please Sims Team... just... please.

I'm absolutely not getting it lmao, I meant scared for the people who *do* get the pack, whether traditionally or a bit less traditional, and it potentially ends up like the Eco balcony where everyone was like WE CAN FINALLY HAVE APARTMENT BALCONIES!!! only to realise... apartments got hella borked and it was a lie lmao. But yeah there was a lot of potential but I'll definitely just be waiting for the modding community to deliver like they always do and light a few candles for our console brethren;;;;

I think I know why they didn't count the cake, it's because the front of the cake is facing the platform behind the table, making the interaction not work!

I'm looking forward to the pack, but the one thing I really care most about is that currently we can't construct a guest list from both sims families. I was really hoping they'd provide a solution for that. But the world looks gorgeous and I will love to have a new vacation world (no my sims are not vacationing in NewCrest!). I do have mine vacation every so often in Sulani. And I have a 'honeymoon' lot in Sulani. That's the extent of it, I think.
I still don’t know why they went with wedding stories as the title when there doesn’t seem to be any story telling elements to this pack, especially when they’re attempting to try and add more “story mode” esq. features to the game. For example, they could’ve incorporated the base game system so that when a sim calls to ask you if they should get engaged, they would also invite you to the wedding. Though the event would be completely autonomous, it would be a good step in the right direction so that it feels like a story is being told. I think they should hire someone to do the live streams for them, because while the sim gurus designed the game, being able to present it is a whole different skill. I think they did their best, but they didn’t really showcase the potential of the pack and what it had to offer in the best way. As someone who does a lot of virtual presentations it’s not easy to engage and inform a virtual audience while also marketing a product. I’m still very excited to play this pack, but there’s also room for needed improvements,
Couple things. They don't want a story to be told, they want YOU to micromange to tell a story yourself. Which is really what their point of ts4 is, why they used to always say "I can't wait for the stories that people will tell with this." Second, if you've watched previous livestreams, they WERE enthusiastic and excited, just about the wrong things and everyone was upset. They were always talking about how cool things looked and instead of what the sims could actually DO. This time they said "It's so pretty" but no difference. Now, if they had incorporated the 'hike' option that is in the outdoors pack to, say, 'take a walk' then their little comment in response to people like me saying "but what can they do?" was "your sims can take a walk" would have made sense. So they are trying to respond to the things we criticize with some of their little comments and it doesn't come through, because they know darn well they are doing the exact same things they have been. Lastly, (though its really carrying through that second point there) many of us hearing their lackluster comments and thinking that they are sounding that way because they KNOW its got problems, they KNOW they didn't do anything different in regards to the world, they KNOW and are not enthusiastic themselves. So they should hire someone else to present that wouldn't really understand the game and would totally be faking it? No, at least let me read into it to know they at least feel bad about it.
I agree the Sim guru who spoke most of the time didn't sound enthusiastic at all, I did feel bad for her though. But the livestream was so bland and pretty disastrous in my opinion. I also agree they should either hire somebody else to do it or maybe even just not do it live 🤷♀️
Great review Carl. I still prefer Sims2 weddings even though they lack structure, but things like NPCs who turn up will attend the wedding and will auto sit plus I loved the cutscenes.
The SimGurus didn’t sound enthusiastic at all, it can be a really good pack but I agree this livestream was all over the place.

They're really good at turning a game pack that could have had great possibilities into a disgraceful and boring package. I don't regret deleting the game at all.
I'm still playing (I just haven't updated my game because there is definitely no need to) and I have to heavily mod it AND come up with a storyline just to entertain myself. If I don't have a good story for myself, I will not play. Meanwhile, in TS3, I am doing a completionist run. Buy all the buildings in all the worlds, complete all skills and their challenges, max out all careers, get all degrees, explore all dungeons, complete all lifetime goals, and start from rags, all on one Sim. So much fun. No creativity needed and STILL more interesting things happen in that game organically (I've just recently discovered how much fun the fireman career is, having never tried it before) than they do in this game. It's clear this game is meant for pre-teens and such and not for people who enjoy complexity and depth.
It really does look boring to death. It's amazing to me they have the gall to put this up for sale. Lmao and people will still buy it...

The tea set animation shocked me. I don't know why, because nearly every animation in TS4 is totally lackluster.
if any other sims game had a wedding pack it would be so centred around making all those functional shops and fun interactions inside them, but in this pack they're just more rabbit holes? what's the point? Edit: to be clear I'm not against rabbit holes, but when like 85% of the features of this pack you have to pay for are essentially glorified text boxes, it seems quite lazy right? is it just me?
They can leave out the rabbit holes in my book. What really is the point of them anyway. I hated Sims 3 for that main reason, on top of many other reasons. I don't recall any rabbit holes in Sims 2 nor 1 for that matter. Now the village/ town areas, I guess are the new thing for them is awful leaving the packs that have things to do with interacting with other sims useless, unless you want to put, retail, cafes, restaurant, movie theaters, bars, nightclubs etc. on an isolated lots. No more of a street type area. Just stalls and a dresser dresses up as a building. Cheat and lazy on EA's part. Any one hoping that Sims 5 (if it will even happen) is going to be better is living in a dream world.
I was excited for this pack, but after seeing everything in it... Yikes. I guess I'll just make a wedding party with seasons and have roughly the same experience.

..... I hate saying this should have been in base game, but is this really that different from the weddings already in the game? Is the gameplay really that good? I'm tired of being disappointed with the Sims, I want to actually enjoy something they put out since I love the Sims. I've been here since sims 1, and want the Sims to succeed. But man they're making it hard to not be disappointed.
💯 they literally have 3 blueprints for what was popular yet continue to keep choosing to go in the opposite direction. At this point I'm not even considering getting sims 5 when it first comes out because I don't trust them
Honestly, it IS a lot more in depth than base game weddings. It seems like it’s way more involved and customizable and needs more planning like an actual wedding, which makes it more of a lifetime event than essentially throwing a house party with wedding vows that the guests may or may not get to watch. It makes a bunch of wedding interactions that are usually left up to the player to imagine and made them into actual gameplay.

Also omfg, I love a few of the systems in Sims 4 but why do they have to repeatedly repackage old systems in new packs??? the world is pretty, i guess, but this shouldn't have been a pack. remove the world from it and it's basically just some basic features that could easily be in base game. i always do the elope option for the weddings, because i cba with all the wedding stuff, so this pack is definitely not for me. it's also giving me journy to batuu vibes with all the rabbit holes

Um yeah. The way the wedding went in the live stream was EXACTLY WHAT YOU'D EXPECT in a Sims 4 wedding. Sims not doing what they're told, running off randomly, showing up randomly, barely getting through it. I was just laughing by then. Head desk. I'll buy the pack eventually (on sale), because I want the world and I like some of the build/buy stuff. I don't have weddings often enough in my game to care about that, but I'm always up for a new, pretty world. I'll just bulldoze what I don't want, and carry on with my regularly scheduled game. This is the only video about this pack I was interested in. I couldn't care less about the pack. I just wanted an attraction system. The moment I realized that's not happening, I lost any interest I had.

this really should have just been a free update and they should have overhauled the retail system so we could create our own wedding shops but oh well it's ts4
As long as you have Get to Work, you CAN create wedding shops, fill them with cakes, flowers bouquets, and mannequins, and go to those instead of the stalls…You’re not limited to the stalls for any of that if you don’t want to use them. If you’re running the shops, you can bake the cakes (or just stock them) or make the bouquets with the flower arrangement table. You can even sell whatever furniture/decorations you want. It’s 100% going to be possible. I’m sure some stuff is going to be a free update, like they mentioned the wedding venue lot and a bunch of new base game swatches for CAS and objects. They didn’t talk about it because they were focusing on the pack.

Carl coming through with the only review we need. This GP looks highly skippable, though I might pick it up when it's on sale since that would be a far fairer price. Though since it seems to just be a bunch of things we can already do with some buggy new interactions and a new world, maybe ten bucks is still too much. And to think, there hasn't been anything gameplay related released in the better part of a year--and, really, calling Dream Home Decorator gameplay is already a stretch--and this is still the best they can produce. Doesn't bode well for the rest of Sims 4's lifespan (not that there was any reason to be hopeful before this). Honestly, much more excited to see how Carl makes Dine Out suck less.
I'm so mad they didn't add the dancers for the bach parties. But then again, the Sims 4 doesn't have a proper attraction system. In the Sims 3, the gender of the dancers depended on the host's sexuality. Like if your sim was a lesbian than a couple of lady strippers would show up.

At this point I think their intentionally not creating in-depth gameplay because the game is so bloated that new content will break it.
A new world was not needed for this GP despite how beautiful it is. They should have concentrated fully on gameplay. Also, weddings are more hard work and, unless one is a youtuber who does Sims videos, it's not something to appreciate. I'm fine with weddings as they are.

I am excited. I’m not Luis other stupid fools complaining everyday being ungrateful. The only thing I’m mad and complaining about is how SimsGuruRad was rude, she rushed things , she did not show enough like she suppose to . She dissabled the chat just because The Russians trying to be heard but it’s not ok to spam but does not make it right for guru rad to disable the chat,She acted like she did not want to be here,and she did the stream wrong. That’s the only thing I’m complaining about about . Somthing about SimsGuruRad and other people like her I don’t like and she needs to be fired . I miss the people that use to work with sims life stories,sims 2 and sims 3 . They know how to sell. They know how to do walkthroughs even though it’s just the trailer. SimsGuruRad need to be fired . She can’t show and sell right and I’ve been selling stuff a long time sence I left high school and I was thought business at a young age and I have my own handmade jewelry business and natural body scrubs and foot soaks and I’m a artist that paints my original artwork and I have 2 KZhead channel and TikTok to show my stuff. Thank you Carl, I was hoping you would do a short overview of this new pack and as always you came through. I’m not too excited about the build items, although the arches are very nice. There are base mode chairs and tables we can use that are much nicer than the ones offered in this pack. Nice to have an official wedding venue lot type. Now we need official honeymoon and reception venue lot types.
A new world packaged up in a...wedding pack??? That seems so.....blatantly money grabbing, especially at Valentine's Day. Things look nice and pretty but the updates should've been free and the new world bundled in a different type of pack. I haven't played TS4 in ages though as my interest in it has taken a steep dive as it gets a little same same for me after a long time. And the new worlds/features/packs haven't really done anything huge to completely put a new spin on the gameplay experience imo
I always wonder why they keep adding new worlds when they ALL feel the same but just look different. stop adding worlds and just start expanding and flushing out the ones we have so they can feel different.

I really dont get the hype about this pack. It feels like it should just be an update? Marriage is already a normal part of the game, it was just broken and this attempts to fix it. I would get it if it were like a wedding kit or something maybe with unique dresses, cakes, decor. The functionality really feels like it should be in the base game. But then again they did literally sell their customers dust so… Eta: the world is beautiful but tbh none of the worlds will excite me until we can make our own. They just feel lifeless, despite being pretty

The thing that I was most surprised about was the huge amount of wedding cakes. The rest...was what I was expecting, sadly.

Tartosa looks so good for a game pack world, I'm dissapointed in the amount of lots but not really surprised. At the very least it's 9 lots instead of the usual 5 like in vampires and realm of magic
I'm so glad sim youtubers like Carl exist to counter the 'yes men' of the sims 4 world...
I'd only buy this pack on sale... and for the new neighbourhood. Then I'd probably rebuild the whole area... because that's kinda what I generally do... putting in businesses and houses that I like rather than leaving the places they make... which are usually crap. As for the whole wedding thing... most of my Sims stay single or elope so it's not something I'll probably use.
When I get a new world, the very first thing I do after loading it is to bulldoze everything. The default builds are usually bland and uninspiring. I can see the appeal of weddings for those playing the whole life of a sim but it's not something for me. Also, I guarantee a modder has or will do it better.
I'm not buying it but I'll probably own it by end of the year. I'll enjoy the build/buy items and extra lots the world gives but thats it
Video is great as always!! But the pack feels the same as previous packs: too little too late with bugs and nothing to actually care about enough to make me buy it.
After the trailer I got quite excited which is rare in terms of Sims 4. Watching your review my face went from "Ooo!" to "Ewww" very quickly. It seemed like during the slow dance the next interaction just canceled the dance like... Can't they keep dancing WHILE sharing a kiss? I won't get it now and just wait a bit longer and honestly? I'd rather get Journey to Batuu once again rather than this.
Meanwhile in my head; "Oh, they're still making stuff". I just gave up on this game already, and hope Sims 5 will get my enthusiasm back for the Sims franchise.
This could have been a good pack to add romantic preferences and an attractive system… but I’m sure the nine slightly different colour cakes are nice as well..

Honestly, seems like it should be a base game update instead of a game pack. This game would be a lot more fun if the AI wasn't so flawed, and immersion breaking.
