A review of The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff, Presented by EA Game Changers. This is perhaps the most gameplay-heavy stuff pack as it seeks to incorporate an entire haunted house system. What does it feature, and how does it hold up in the long term? Let's take a look.

the Sims 4 in a nutshell: "there's some good stuff here but hey, don't expect it to be complex."
thats pretty much every sims 4 expac in a nutshell
People will buy it wither way, why make the effort to make it good? Thanks ea, greed will ruin everything good
They could have merged this with spooky stuff. Worth 10 dollars, at that point. But meh! EA GAMES!
None of the previous Sims games were complex either. Sims 3 packs were ocean wide and shallow as a puddle. Good example is Supernatural pack, all life states were shallow as hell with barely anything to do, but hey you had numbers to show!
Sorry sims was never complex
It's only five levels because it's a Medium Skill...if it had 10 levels, it would be a Large Skill
Nice
gdi 😂😂😂
Took me a while to get this lmao
Ok, that was pretty good.
Wow now I'm in love with you
“Get messages from the dead” Yeah it’s not like my dead sims and their dead friends always message me through the phone to hang out anyways!
I once had a dead npc offer my Sim a job.
Right! Like why?
@@SlimSamari bruh
I don’t take this ghost seriously the creepy people in stranger ville are scarier. Why does this look like they stole the little ghost from animal crossing
Because some people could have a phobia towards ghosts.... I personally have never played strangerville because of how creepy the possessed people are. I think that’s what they’re taking into consideration when making the scepters looks cuter. Also by the few early access videos I’ve watched, I think the sounds are making it feel a bit creepier...
Thats because they probably did. Animal crossing was hot and Corpo EA saw that and threw it in.
@@siapayah9345 If someone has a phobia of ghosts they probably wouldn't buy the pack at all, so I don't think that's the reason.
@@SomeoneBeginingWithI for reallllllll that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. I have a severe phobia of sharks you wouldn’t catch me buying the Jaws stuff pack lol
@@SomeoneBeginingWithI and that is exactly what ea is aiming for. They want the pack to be able to sell for everyone.... making the ghosts scarier would only harm the sales...

There's been at least one dev/sim guru who said things like "oh that's cool, I've never noticed that" for a pretty basic feature most players were aware of. So I think that may be more likely than we think. Or they play it just for work and don't actually like the Sims
@@merchantfan that’s so upsetting, hopefully there will be a lot of firing when The Sims 5 era starts
I just hate that they keep reusing the animations so that they don't have to make new ones. Kicking a creepy doll to remove a cursed object?? WTF??? even children know not to do that, it's so stupid
Because animations are difficoult to produce and overall expensive. Plus finding an animator skilled enough to animate a human being that doesn't move like a piece of cardboard Is really challenging. Every software house recicle animations, even Disney recicle animations. It's not a sin and saves a lot of stress for the ones that work on the project.
@@RedBloodyGirl finding a skilled animator is not even remotely difficult. There's tons out there desperate for work. They don't want to spend money, that's literally it. EA is just an extremely bad company.
@@RedBloodyGirl gurl, there are games out there in 2020 that sell $20 DLC packs that have over 60 new animations, EA ain't no indie, underground game company. They have a whole team of professional game developers and they couldn't even bother to add more than 10 new animations for each pack. We barely even get 3 for each new pack now

I’m a little turned off by the cuteness of the ghosts. Even when they’re evil they look harmless. Pack seems well packed though (pun intended). A lot of stuff but not my jam.

Take a panicked poop? Really. Because Angry Poop was such a well used option. This game is getting so childish. We knew this when they added Care Bears to Freeplay, but it is becoming so apparent. Missing the actual saucy content from past games. Bet the next Sims game will be E for Everyone. If you want to make a kid's game, just go the whole way EA. 😒

@@samd8872 your comment made me legit laugh out loud but also, good point haha
Have you seriously never watched stuff like Casper? Its normal
Needing to summon Bonehilda every time you want her was definitely a choice, not a result of EA rushing the developers, because they already made Patchy. They could have made Bonehilda a re-skin of Patchy, with an upright coffin instead of Patchy's stump and she prioritises cleaning and repairs over gardening. They chose to not do that, and not give the community what they expected. I don't personally care about Bonehilda but I find it weird how they are either out of touch with the community and don't know that people wanted her to be a live-in maid, or chose to disappoint people.
I think is both, they don't care about what we ask and definitely they don't care about what crap they give us
This is why I'm looking towards Paralives instead. I never owned the Sims 4 for this very reason, they just don't give a crap
honestly i prefer having to summon bonehilda rather than having an admittedly pretty unsightly looking coffin in my sims' house all the time. i can understand why people are upset but it feels weird to just assume that they did it because they 'dont care' about what we want.
I feel like she's always been a summon to work kind of thing, though, and her coffin is now just the seance table. I think the let-down is that you need the skill level 3 to get Bonehilda. I think in the past you just needed to buy the coffin.
I agree. I don't want every sim to use the medium skill. I'd rather that be special to a few sims in my game but I would like Bonehilda in my general occult gameplay just because that's how I like to play her. I think there should have been an option to buy her coffin maybe for a high price to offset the need for the skill.
I wish they had actually expanded on the pre existing ghosts rather than just having you be haunted by blobs. Like, I would've liked to see this in a bigger pack with some sort of actual ghost world, ghost life states etc
I like that they're finally making things difficult, I just wish hauntings were dangerous instead of just disruptive
lol imagine dying from working
True I hope someone can make a mod like that
Well, the real problem is difficulty in Sims 4 feels so cheap to avoid, you have too much control over everything, like emotions, lot traits and most things just take into account just your skill level so, having an high skill in cooking would make fires to almost never happen with that sim. Cooking and Handiness are by far the skills that seems to imply some "regular" and actually punishing difficulty (because how easy things can go out control and end up with a Sim diying or things burning or broken up).
@@ScudForEver robotics from discover university is where the skill difficulty spikes. get zapped every hour building anything and straight up die if it happens twice.

God this game is awful. These ridiculously goofy ghosts are a perfect reflection of how much this game has declined in quality. In Sims 3 ghosts were so comprehensive.. so many cool ways to die (shark attack, performing water grave trick, time anomaly).... and the grim reaper was so well designed and interesting to watch.. remember in Pets how he would hug and comfort the dogs and use a toy mouse to send the cats off to heaven..and he even rode the horses into the sunset! TS4 is an empty vessel.
I LOVED when he rode the horses it was so majestic and didn’t make me feel as sad, plus grim is scarier in sims 3, in sims 4 he seems done with his job lmao
Grim use to scare the crap out of me in sims 1 and 2. Mainly in sims 1 i use to get so creeped out I'll cut the game off 😂

I think that kicking haunted items would aggravate the paranormal activity even further. Apparently, The Sims has other ideas. 😕
That's how reality works apparently
It certainly pisses off the gnomes
No ghost busting/capturing job the way sims 3 did it? 😕
@@seby826 Yeah, ghostbusting or a proper exorcist career would have been great. But I always said they couldn't do proper justice to this in a stuff pack
@@YAUUN EA is lazy, everyone wanted a real paranormal dlc not cute ghost, Sims running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, and hardly any real danger. The "She's coming" could have summoned a banshee that could kill your Sim.
So the new patch dowloaded last night and I was playing and my sim was running around the house terrified because he had “thalassophobia” (fear of the ocean) except he was no where near an ocean and hadn’t been anywhere near the ocean. Legit crying under the covers and I couldn’t get him to stop. So this patch is already great. Love it
That’s been happening to my sims too even before the patch update but they got an intense mood let instead of terrified 😩
Lmfaoooo
That also happened to my my sims before the patch update. They were tense even when not near the ocean. I haven’t played with that particular sims again but I assume that she’d be terrified for no reason too after this update.
Messages are smashed and purple for parent alerts. It's great!
Hold on, sims can get that moodlet? How? Which trait does it? I've never seen it before!
Adding Sims 1 burglar with the scary theme should be haunting enough. This pack seems too soft to create a proper haunting experience.
These packs are made by devs who got "anxiety" attacks from the burglar in past titles. Dont expect them to break the mold the entire ts4 has been a huge let down from the start
The sound that played in TS1 when ghosts appeared was also properly spooky
This is made for kids
I never thought I would miss that guy.
@@jj2002ful Heck, vampires actually attack your Sims (though I've at most had them show up they never do that). Burglars just took your stuff if you didn't have the burglar alarm or weren't able to just fight them off. How is "someone took my table, guess I have to buy a table" worth an anxiety attack?
“who is she to knock on my door uninvited? you call before you show up Janice!” LMAOOOO this part had me cracking up
I feel that this pack was a huge missed opportunity, everything is just so lackluster and tbh I'm really tired of all the reused animations. The Sims 4 just feels so lifeless and like the developers just don't care.

@@officialldfryi298 I just want tp see some effort to be put into the game and not make packs only look nice and shiny on the surface so that people will buy them only to find out that they lack any real depth after the fact. A new game would give them a new chance with a clean slate, but honestly the Sims 4 has just left me with such strong a bitter taste in my mouth
The developers DONT care. Its obvious they are just in it for the money. The reason sims 4 is still going even after all the bad stuff is because mindless consomers will still buy what ever Maxis sharts out.
@@loupblanc7944 honestly it’s not the developers probably, it’s the lead and designers who tel them what to make. Sims already has an amazing skeleton (foundation more like) to work with for code and to make a game, so a lot of them would probably be excited to do new things. But they can’t code and add things they aren’t allowed to
I think they could have made this great like add a trait like Scaredy-cat that makes Sims easily scared or a trait called Intuitive that makes it easier to do the job or level up in the new skill
The paranoid trait is similar to thid
ooh, this may not make total sense, but what if there was a skill that is for sims who don't believe in ghosts/paranormal stuff could have synergy with magic too. Maybe it would give a negative modifier for the medium skill or make them ignore the ghosts. Idk just a random idea

@@meikahidenori you can have the haunted lot trait which has been renamed to “spooky” on the new haunted lot type.

@@DarkeningDemise The career literally sends you to any lot and configures it to be haunted. Also, you can thank the flip-floppy Sims players for this idea of sectioning off occults.
@@arieltroncoso3871 Ah yes, it’s definitely the Sims players who enjoys realistic gameplay fault. 😐 & not a company who created the game.
If you become an investigator with a license, why the hell would you get scared?! Why wouldn't you be able to get a brave trait that eliminates this? 🤦🏻♀️
What makes me roll my eyes is every time someone goes on about something like this only to then complain "oh, it's too easy now" when they get their way. Also, as someone who deals with a lot of 'spooky' stuff in real life and for fiction - the idea is foolish that just because you do something professionally or at a high skill level does not mean "you don't get scared" - fear is natural and vital, and there are many ways to cope that don't amount to just 'oh, I'm just brave!' Believe me, some of the conventionally bravest people still absolutely go bonkers with fear. Bravery is not the absence of fear, it's the discipline needed to push on in spite of it, and it is NOT everything.
@@arieltroncoso3871 right, hang on a second! It's really not that deep. You're talking about real life. I'm not delving in to a conversation about paranormal things in real life so let's not even go there. I'm talking about in the game. It makes sense that, if you're in a job that means you'll get the scared emotion a lot, that your bravery trait would go up as you level up in the job BECAUSE otherwise it makes game play difficult and/or annoying, which is basically what was said in the video but not as bluntly.
@@arieltroncoso3871 Wut?
@@thefuneraldirectorsdaughter84 Okay but then I cycle back to the first thing I said. It might "not be that deep" but it's not like I was pointlessly rattling off about real life, lmao. The Sims is supposed to be a life simulator - or at least, a kind of life sim. My point in this case is that the answer isn't to "develop bravery" or just slap on a trait to "be brave" because it just doesn't work like that in real life. And in basic game mechanics, it'd invalidate any sense of challenge or difficulty in the game career, when the biggest thing wrong with the Sims 4 is its lack of complexity or challenge. What the aim should be is to iron out the annoying bits and make fear a more compelling gameplay loop to deal with, rather than nerfing the existing loop or setting the player up to conquer it entirely. Because then it becomes boring and people complain that it's too easy despite them being the ones to scream for these kinds of things the loudest. Oh - also, I never intended to get into a conversation about real paranormal experiences, if I wanted that (which would never happen with strangers for a whole variety of reasons, my own superstition included) I would have been way less vague. And, rest assured, I don't deal with ghosts!
@@arieltroncoso3871 I'm not redding all that. It's a game, it's my opinion for a better game play experience and is pretty much what was said in the video. Lots of people agree with me. I'm not getting in to a debate or argument with you so let's just leave it there. As I said, this whole thing is not that deep 🙄🤦🏻♀️
XD kicking a haunted doll in real life is a bad idea, just ask anyone who is dumb enough to kick Robert the Doll or Annabelle. 🤣
Exactly what I thought lol 😂
It would be a WILD night to say the least
Yeah kicking the gnomes feels higher stakes because kicking one makes all of them angry. Kicking the dolls should be something that creates more problems, not solves them.
@@SomeoneBeginingWithI In demonology from what I've learned, destroying the vessel is a terrible idea, the spirit will possess a new vessel, there are various other ways to dealing with a haunted object than destroying it.

Imagine a little girl sim ghost appearing each time the voodoo doll popped up?! Now that..I’d buy it lol these “ghosts” are far too cute.
I wish they would have made this a proper expansion and put the time and effort this type of system deserved, there is so much they could have done with bonehilda and the ghosts, and like you said in another video this would have been perfect for developing a graveyard system. But these days thats all I feel about sims, giant missed oppertunities with systems where minimal effort was put in, a basic themepark with little complexity and connecting tissue. It just feels like every pack in sims 4 is less then the equivlent sims 3 expansions, pets being a perfect example, in sims 3 we had the equestrians, horses and just a wide variaty of options compared to sims 4, and then with island living, in sims 3 we had house boats and actual underwater places to explore, I just hope in sims 5 they do better, thar or paralives does well. I know its EA, but it seems they are trying to put more effort in these days, so maybe theres hope for sims 5.
Gosh, I was thinking they put more into this than they did the last expansion. I mean, less CAS, less wallpapers and floors, but overall... looks like they put just as much work into it as some of the expansions.
As expected of EA. it's 2021 and im still enjoying sims 2 like it's new.
I’m a S3 player but I’ve tried soooo many times to get into S4. It’s just a shell of its former self. I hate the cartoony look, the emotion system and the lack of depth both the “worlds” and Sims have. Even after buying expansions...it seems nothing can make S4 appealing to me. :(
they could have added this stuff pack with the other supernatural packs and made a whole expansion pack about supernatural things. but there's no news that EA always divide packs to get more money
@@Alex-ir5jt yup and then they’ll try to turn it into a positive by saying it “allows the player to more carefully choose what items and gameplay they want in the game” 🙄
I guess what's worse is this might as well be for kids...theres nothing really screaming 'spooky' or 'scary' in this pack. It's mindless fluff that doesn't make sense and like we all expected, doesn't work with any other pack, the ghosts are WAY too cute ( a phrase i never would of thought to say about any ghost), The career and skill is disappointing....and the furniture is so colorful and yet so bland?? nothing screams "hey im a spooky pack about ghosts!". At least with sims 3 i would freak out if i heard the ghost sound near my house because it could genuinely be terrifying. this does not give me anywhere close to that feeling of dread because my sims is freaking out that a ghost flew through them or that a ghost possessed their bed.
You’re the OG of The Sims Carl. Your guides have been immensely helpful for me the past decade if not longer. You mentioned complexity in the video which I agree with. I had to study your sims 3 guides and look at your website constantly to complete challenges and things in that game. Sims 4 is so basic in comparison. Even this stuff pack, the mediumship skill is only to level 5 and you have a ghost tutorial. Wheres the challenge? Probably going to be the shortest skill write up you’ve ever had to do!
I'm so sick of 5 level skills. Pretty much all of them I wish took longer to master bc then you could have a career focusing on those skills. They always just come off as lazy
Imagine Selling one of the Careers from Sims 3 Ambitions as it's own dlc. don't buy it. Make EA and Maxis work for your money.

And its not even half as extensive as the Sims 3 version!
Sadly, with every pack release I see so many people saying "this pack is disappointing but I'm going to buy it anyway lol" or "this pack looks fun but I wish they'd fix the problems with the base game first" (and then they buy the pack anyway)
There are many many many people unfortunately, that don't want to see how bad EA has become and really don't care if the game is good or bad, what they don't understand is that because of people like them the game will never improve, 6 years of TS4 and this is what we get. It is so offensive...

Why is this game so... goofy? I mean The Sims has always avoided adult content but they can't make a paranormal stuff pack be remotely spooky? The haunting ghosts look cute, not scary. The game is rated 13+ (I think?) but this content looks like it was made for really young kids. I'm so disappointed, I thought this stuff pack might gives TS4 a bit of edge. A haunted temple without having to live in it could have been fun...
pretty sure you could (in theory) do that.. yes it has to be a "residential haunted lot" but that doesn't mean anyone has to live there.. or maybe just have one "caretaker" for the place. i can't remember if there is anyway to visit the lot if nobody lives there.
Maybe you could move in some actual ghosts... Build a story around it, have them also haunt the place. Idk. My trust lies in the modding community, someone will hopefully make this into a lot trait.

Imagine wanting to buy a STUFF pack that had actual stuff in it. I think EA adds minor gam play things like this because they didn't want to be bothered to make an ACTUAL expansion pack that would give us several careers maybe even a new world and actual LOT traits we could apply to other locations, and let us not forget about Bonehilda, I mean the fact that we can't keep her as part of the family really bothers me. This is just another lazy move on EA to do a little as possible to try and keep people interested in their game what should have died after they pulled Journey to Batu on us. I hope people are starting to realize that EA is ALL about aesthetics, ALL of their games are like this, not just Sims. The only reason most people are just now seeing it is because they may not of ever played TS3 when MAXIS still had creative control, or they were blinded to what was really going on with this game. It's like playing with Barbie dolls with reused animations/recolored objects and random pointless emotions. At this point and I feel like they are trying to gear their game towards the younger crowd because most of them either are too young to have played the other Sims games so they don't know any better, or they just don't care, they will buy anything just because.
Yeah, I think they don't care about the older players (like if we weren't a large amount) but try to make everything baby friendly
@@Kolibri71 I couldn't agree with this more.
I don’t understand why they didn’t include purple color swatches for the items. Seems like a no brainer 🤔
Yeah, the max level for paranormal investigation is kinda stupid. I miss how it was in ts3 where you could just join the ghost hunter profession and learn as you go :/
I know right? I'm glad I'm not getting this and get the university dlc
but it makes sense, like HMM TIME TO BECOME A WRITER DESPITE NEVER WRITING BEFORE IN MY LIFE! its realistic you need skill.
@@ZizzleTheKakapo *insert writing skill and writing books at level 1*
@@ZizzleTheKakapo It all starts when your sims are a child, those "A" grades of theirs? They've got the basics, just need a few smaller jobs to work their way up to becoming an author.
They could have done with the ghost sucking device like the one with Eco Lifestyle
The paranormal investigator career and the medium skill interested me when it was announced but it looks like you just clean up stuff and there's nothing to the medium skill outside of the "seance" stuff.
I'd love to see how pets interact with this sp. This feels like a separate game.
They’ll probably just get scared like when they do with tvs computers stoves etc.
Pets was such a let down nothing like the sims 3 pets..
I just hope there’s a way to make it so certain sims don’t get scared in a haunted house. I have a vampire and I want her to live in a haunted house, but it would be silly if she, a literal monster, was afraid of ghosts lol
it looks like one of those packs in which you play the career once and then you're stuck with the annoying things from the pack
Yup.
I won’t buy this pack until they update this later. The map isnt that pretty, the gameplay is too limited. U play it once and you’ll get bored, whats the point of buying. Its only a small pack but they can really do better. Why cant they increase the depth of each pack?!
@@katckwan6274 EA only cares about the money and not the quality of their work.
@@katckwan6274 it's simple: they don't have to. ppl buy their packs anyway
Jokes on you if you had expectations
Okay I'll get it. But seeing all those reused animations just makes me salty. I love Sims 4 but come on. I've played the ghost hunter career in Sims 3 again BECAUSE of that pack and it's just amazing. I feel like I'll just use my imagination to make it more interesting than the game actually makes it
Yeah it feels incredibly lazy that they just kick the totems and mop up the other things, like come on
Then why will you get it?
Let’s face it, this could easily have been a game pack adding in new occults, but instead it’s a heavy stuff pack with shortcuts.
“You call before you show up, *Janice* !” 😂🤣
Toggleable difficulty!! Haven’t we been BEGGING for this?!?
The King has returned finally it's time to learn some more knowledge about the Sims
I wonder if you can be scared to death?
I heard that one of the gurus said you can't
Thatd be kind of ridiculous if you can laugh to death but not be scared to death lol
They have confirmed you cannot be scared to death. Totally a missed opportunity.
Nope you cannot.
@@_JS__ so after all EA is still EA
Thanks for the review! I really would've preferred if they'd made this a game pack so we could've had more CAS items, more B/B, more traits and an aspiration, tarot card reading, a fortune teller freelance career, etc. this type of gameplay is right up my alley though so I probably will be buying but I might wait until it's on sale. I'm also a little disappointed that the Medium skill is only 5 levels, and that Bonehilda doesn't have a coffin so she can stay in the house permanently. These things are probably the biggest cons of the pack in my opinion.
I'm still waiting for more occult races to come around, so they've got ample reasons to build up from this pack (and others for that matter)
Instead of bootleg Harry Potter pack, we could have gotten all combined supernaturals but ea will keep being ea it seems..
@@rerolieu8909 If you mean RoM, it's not even CLOSE to being called a bootleg HP pack.
Do you mod? I have psychic, fairy, witch (not spellcaster) etc in my game. EA just copies the most popular mods / CC from the community instead of empowering and encouraging the community by paying modders for their work and using reviewer simmers for their live walk throughs like yesterday
@@mirandasullivan17 I do. 👍 Doesn't mean I wouldn't want it to be in the game though. Mods are great until they break or when a modder quits and then it's a matter of time before their mods break. And, of course, there's the upkeep of your Mods every update. Just prefer if there was more that was already part of the game than something I had to mod in and risk losing entirely.
Still waiting for them to properly rework werewolves like what they did with Spellcasters and Vampires
Great review! I feel like I really know what to expect with this Stuff Pack now
I once again made the mistake of letting myself get excited for this pack 😭 how disappointing! I really hope they fix things... hopes aren’t high however :(
Great review Carl. One of the most in depth I've come across. Thanks.
Can I just say, your blender animations and characters are a big highlight from your videos and I love seeing what you come up with!
i’ve really been thinking about buying this, but i just cannot stand how silly they made the ghosts look. i really don’t understand why they chose that
Thanks for the review and awesome video as always. 🙂
I'm honestly impressed with this pack. For a $10 stuff pack, it's really detailed. The gameplay has more depth than the career we got in Snowy Escape, and there's a lot of stuff as well. Compared to the earliest packs Sims 4 had, this looks more like a gamepack to me (I'm comparing to like Spa Day, Cool Kitchen Stuff, and the earlier packs, not anything released after 2017). Most of the time I wait until stuff packs are half off, but I wouldn't mind paying the full $10 for this one. I love occult content in The Sims and this has plenty of that for what my expectations of a $10 experience would give me! Also, I really love the cute ghost design. I know not everyone loves that, but it reminds me of that Ghost Duet meme, and just general cute spoopyness which I love. ♡
Thanks for another in depth review Carl! I mentioned you on an official sims survey that popped up in game for me. It was inquiring about my satisfaction with Snowy Escape and I have to say I was very frank and honest with them about the lack of gameplay Sims 4 has compared to its predecessors. Thanks as always, much love my man!
Thank you for another great review Carl 💗
We just want Bonehilda as live-in maid please.
I like this pack, the furniture is so cute and it comes with a tiny cow plant. That’s honesty why I got it.
I'm still excited for this pack because occult play is my favorite. That being said "it sure is a stuff pack" is such a good descriptor and I genuinely lol'd at that.
Hey remember the Ghost Hunter career from Sims 3? Yeaaaa..I was hoping to have that again in 4 😐 now people are just gonna get weird with Bonehilda 😥
Awesome video. Thanks for showing and sharing.
Happy to.
Man, I love your English! You speak so clear, so correct! You really have talent for to work with your voice. 🥰
Carl you seem like such a good dude and I enjoy hearing what you have to say in your videos! Thank you for everything you do and all the work you put into making your game guide. I whitelisted your website so the ads on the page will help keep your work afloat and accessible! Thank you again, man. Have a great day.
Pretty sad about bonehilda. I genuinely would have bought the pack for her and build buy. I like her coffin from TS3 and my rich vampire sims needed a quick bell they can ring to summon her :/
cant believe dying from fright is not a thing ...
Also thank you for taking the time to review ✨✨🙌💖 loved and appreciated the time.
Great review as always Carl. I appreciate you covering the sims. I feel that while I still like the game, part of me is just really tired of the same formula. Even a paranormal pack doesn't feel different enough anymore.
This would have been the perfect opportunity to add the brave and coward traits to CAS
The "brave" reward trait is not in the pack, it's part of the free update!
I absolutely love other Sims youtubers like Plumbella or James Turner for let's plays or other types of content, but your reviews are the only ones I trust. The base game still needs so much work, so it is impossible for any game packs or stuff packs to be really well done. They are trying to build on a foundation that is shaky at best. The only reason I still play the game is because I enjoy building. I stopped enjoying gameplay a long time ago and the new packs never add enough to change that. I feel like your reviews are made in the same spirit that I feel about the Sims right now which is "Yeah, this is a thing that exists, and I am technically here for it, but I don't really know why I'm here anymore."
it seems the best pack they released in ages. I have not got excited by anything sims related since the Vampires GP but this got me hooked!
Im interested to know how the job works if your sim is already a ghost
Why did they have to make the ghost look so cute!
For all the issues in Sims 4, I'm glad we're at least getting new challenges. I'm going to see if I can leverage the roommate system to do a "Haunted Landlord Challenge". Basically get a haunted mansion, fill it with roommates at the start of the week, and try to keep them from leaving before bills come due.
Love your reviews. Making Bonehilda an aspiration reward was SPOT ON.
I wanted ghost hunter. not paranormal investigator... T_T I even recreated (back when the voting for the pack was, when crafts won :P ) the Ghostbusters fire station. and finally happy hauntings is here. and it's the side of paranormal investigation I don't care... mystical. and they even botched Bonehilada ... I might need to see more gameplay of this pack before even trying it. as always thanks for the Info Carl :)
Yes because I act like that when I’m scared 😂💀
“You call before you show up JANICE”... when I say I DIED😂😂💀
if this was a game pack it would have so much more, maybe tarot cards, spirit boards, a new world, maybe even those fortune teller gypsy caravans. But man for a stuff pack, she's absolutely filled and im loving it
My thoughts exactly! I think this is so good for a stuff pack, but also it's such a promising premise that I wish it were at least a game pack :( I'd love a new, more "bohemian" world to match the vibes, and a fortune teller career 🥺 I just want to run a fortune telling business from my house, would be so cool 🥺🥺 I also wish Bonehilda's appearance was a special life state and not just a costume so we could dress her in other stuff too if we add her to our family, and even have bone babies with her 🥺 They could've done so much with this, and I'd honestly still get a game or expansion pack if they improved upon this concept!
The fact that they let you go to other Sims houses makes me hopeful they bring back the interior designer career soon!
I was just thinking it’s been a while since your last video!!
I think it'd be cool if toddlers & children could pick up the dolls & keep them, but it wouldn't just turn into a normal doll, and adults can still get rid of them (if that makes sense)
i wanted brave to be an actual trait in cas. perfect for this pack or meaning a sim will not panic when there is a fire etc
I feel like for TS4 this is okay. However, people would've gotten so mad had they sold something like this for 10 quid during TS3. A whole, rich paranormal expansion pack could've included so much depth. :( This game is so shallow, it's sad.
I honestly feel like there should have been more variety in the animations for this Pack. How is mopping going to completely clean off a haunting? It should not be that simple; Make sims have to buy special equipment in order to get rid of the haunts. DIFFICULTY! There should have been more variety in the Spectres as well; I feel like we should have gotten some lore for how the ghosts came to be. Make some missions that require players to travel! Maybe a partially new world. Maybe a BOSS Battle.
Hey Strangerville had a boss battle- I don't know why they couldn't have made that "She" more scary. I thought the motherplant was at least visually impressive.
If you're terrified and talk to Guidry he'll give you sacred candles. Sometimes ghosts will give you the wax to make them. I enjoyed making a Lydia from Beetlejuice character to make a paranormal investigator. Gifts to give the sectors need to be homemade.
If they could have mixed in a dangerous living pack or the other monsters with this and turn it to a EP this would have been awesome.
