  • This helped me a lot! My mouse scroll was stuck in free spin. the button to switch it on the mouse did not work. So I opened it up following your video and moved the small gears manually to get the scroll back to tactile. Its gonna be tactile permanent now, but that is a lot better than permanent free spin

Now my battery indicator keeps blinking the battery low led and in synapse show 0% battery. It works just fine without the wire, on wireless mode , but the led is blinking red and the software do not shows how much percentage i have on the battery. Did i pinched something when i changed the switches? thank you !

  • had a pretty bad spill on this mouse (whiskey and half a bottle of Dr. Pepper) and have had it for over three years going from laptop to desktop PC I already spent $50 on a new mouse which is pretty nice (logitech G502 Hero) but i figured i would fix my Basilisk and have a spare mouse to game on if either one ever totally craps out. so thanks for showing where the security screws were. i also used a liquid chain oil not exactly WD40 and it worked just the same so make sure the grease you use doesnt gunk up in cold temps. it should be standard clear not opaque whitish liquid. if unsure spray some onto a plate and hold it next to your AC, if it gunks its no good.

  • I spilled tea on my mouse an hour ago and it stopped scrolling. Was so frustrated cus I don't have the money right now to buy another. So I opened it up, I did what you did ,and voila, not only is it scrolling perfectly again, it also solved another problem that I've been having for almost a year now: When pressing the scroll-wheel (Mouse button #3), usually it would not even register the clock unless I pressed hard, and even then it would work only sometimes. It ALL works as well now as the first day when I got this mouse. Like brand new. You sir, are a held; a hero! :) Thank you kindly. Subscribing because you've earned it

  • Fixed my multi-click issue. I was clicking once, but 2+ clicks were being registered, sometimes as many as 5-6 would be registered in rapid succession. At first I didn't put enough WD-40 and it still double-clicked, but I didn't fully re-assemble the mouse so I just quickly took the top off and put more, this time I held the switch in with the long red spout and sprayed with it held in so that more could seep into the actual switch. A tiny keyring type flat head worked for me as the only torx drivers I have are absolutely minute, for phone repairs. Luckily my tiny flat-head worked. One question though, I only realised this after performing the repair but aren't you supposed to use dielectric lube for things like mechanical switches in electronics? They mechanical keyboard community told me to NEVER lube my key switches with WD-40, to ONLY use stuff like Super Lube. Is WD-40 definitely ok or might it eventually damage the insides of the switch? Either way thank you for the video, I'm just glad that my mouse is usable again in the immediate, even if I end up buying another one soon, I kinda needed a functional mouse now.

    @HeyItsKora@HeyItsKora Жыл бұрын
    • That is not necessarily the case,while special lube does exist,that is for more expensive and sensitive equipment. We,the common folks,using a mouse that most of us will replace in let's say 5 years are more than fine with WD-40,as it just libricates and prevents corrosion for a short duration,because the WD-40 is made to dissapear after a while anyway. It is more like a cleaner than an actual lubricant,offering you just that one time solution(or as many times as you need),so don't be afraid of using it,there is no harm it can possibly do(speaking strictly on peripherals,not power supply parts or GPU),altough it is okay to spray it inside the fan's motor in case it squeaks or makes a funny noise,if at that moment you don't have money to change the fan.

  • Ok, this method works. However, for anyone who faces the same issue as me: applying too much WD40 on the push buttons (the clicky things) can make them very sensitive and easy to press while also losing their specific clicky feeling. You didn't screw your mouse, just let it dry for a couple of days and it should be fine.

  • Razer is just pure evil, so lucky that my dad had a T6 screwdriver, otherwise I would be screwed. Why can't they use simple Philips screws or anything that works with a basic screwdriver set and not mini torx where the smallest one in my set is T10. Will never buy their stupid products again. And thank you Tech & Lifetstyle, had the mouse for half a year and the middle mouse button would audibly click but do nothing, I then pressed really hard and it worked. Now after spraying some WD40 on it, is works as smooth as before.
