Man, I should have checked out the Basilisk Ultimate gaming mouse earlier. As a G502 lover, this feels right at home but is lighter, has better a sensor & switches...but more $$$.

I use this mouse for creating graphics and illustrations at work and it's absolutely phenomenal. I've never encountered a mouse that felt so natural to use. But there's only one reason I bought this mouse for and that's to ensure I never get double clicks again. This is the only mouse on the market with optical switches that never suffer from d-clicks and have a 4x greater lifespan compared to traditional micro switches. My 13 year old Razer Lachesis is still going strong but this is whole different ball game. If you're serious about productive or getting an edge in your games, get this mouse. Screw spinning wheels and flimsy micro switches.

Just bought the V2, I too have over looked it, still using my Naga since I play MMO's and realized I don't use all the buttons just need 3 total TBO. So I ordered my basilisk V2 wired, and boy I was pleasantly surprised at how well it fits in my hand, a lot better then my Naga which I have never liked how it's shaped like a egg, not comfortable at all. But I used it for the multi function of the button layout.
Your production quality is so great. I would watch you review a cardboard box and still be in awe with your visuals
Razer: «can I copy your homework?» Logitech: «sure, just dont make it obvious that you copied»
They copy but they copy for a better version, by far. G502 sucks, bad plastic, rigid cable and overweight.
J@ckHoror you can change the weight of the g502 can’t you?
@@totallykai1828 you can but even the lighest setting is too heavy for many
Sphage oh
@@akira8-customkeyboards17 I wonder why razer give only 2 year warranty for the mouse compared to logitech 3 years then. Specially considering it cost double of a wireless g502 and almost quadruple of the wired version. Weird huh?
Here's a tip for the sniper button/paddle: bind it to middle mouse click! It's much more ergonomic to use the button on the side for scrolling through webpages. Additionally, you can set it to push to mute discord and push to talk in-game!
Does it work for app switching by binding it as alt+tab?? Or it just open the task switcher then i choose?
I do a lot of 3D work, and having an extra button to map to middle mouse is a must. Clicking scroll wheels sucks.
@@jwork5680 I'm pretty sure you can set this up, yeah

love the underlighting on the box, good idea
I bought this alongside the firefly v2 mousepad and can safely say it's amazing. Battery life is no issue at all(with RGB). Amazing grip and very comfortable and smooth. You can tell this is high quality right out of the box.
i can safely say the mouse glides like a brick across asphalt
I love love love the G502. Was using it for YEARS and tried a ton of other mice and could not find one as perfect as the 502. Then the Basalisk Ultimate came out and I switched and I love it.
Randomfrankp thank you so much for all the set up ideas and giving me an idea of what to get for my gaming set up!
I got the X Hyperspeed a couple of days ago. Feels very nice for gaming A little too heavy for me but I adjusted to that quite quickly. The only thing I'm missing is just a little bit of RGB or lighting. I always think that the mouse is turned of when I look to my right side😂😂
I've got the basilisk x hyperspeed. I came from the G602. Basilisk is lighter, but only has enough room for 1 battery, and overall battery life isn't as good but I do love it. I like that you can use either Bluetooth OR the dongle. If I'm traveling and don't need the hyper response I can use Bluetooth, or use it on my tablet or phone
I got it today, and it's so nice. I used it 2:30h and the battery is almost full. Such a nice mouse
I believe that the Basilisk Ultimate has a Bluetooth option as well. There should be a switch on the bottom just like the Basilisk X Hyperspeed.

Finally you made a video of the Razer basilisk Ultimate. I have used it since it came out, and I love it.
Holy shit, This review is amazing, Especially thank you for clicking the middle mouse button quickly, I'm using the razer viper ultimate right now, and the middle mouse button feels extremely slow and inconsistent to click, so you showing you can click it quickly really helped me.
I'm currently using a G502 and I only had it for two months and I'm having double-click issues with it. Apparently people have been having that issue with certain G series mice so I'm glad it's not just me. Great mouse and all but honestly, since I have a Overwatch edition Razer keyboard, I might switch over to this and try it out.
lol i had double click issues on razer death adder1, then moved to the g502 lightspeed, i had issues of the left click plunging and stucking i broke it trying to pull it outside, so now i will go back to razer with the basilisk x
Im using now the razer deathadder elite, and now when i see the features of the basilisk ultimate ( the ergonomy + the wireless feature ) im thinking about switching for it cause i need a wireless mouse that has an ergonomic design . Thank you randomfrankp for the review !

Its too expensive i thought when i bought it a month ago, used it for an hour this is really underrated. Hands down the best mouse i ever owned, and i had a lot of mice.
@Mushroomstamp I've used a deathadder for years before getting a g pro wireless that after a year started to develop clicking problems so i decided to look for a new mouse. Got a deathadder v2 and its good but i've been spoiled by wireless so i ordered the viper ultimate instead and its also good but definitely not as comfortable as the deathadder in the hand because its ambi. Would you recommend Basilisk Ultimate for someone thats looking for an ergonomic wireless mouse? The 107g weight is a little worrying after getting used to lighter mice around the 80g mark, but i did also use a G903 for a short time and that one was 110g.
@@Malinkadink If I'm not too late, the basilisk is almost the same shape as the G502, if your hands aren't any wider than 9.5cm, you should be comfortable. If they are, wait for Wireless Deathadder v2.
@@MillerTM I'm just on the deathadder v2 now im okay with wired till they give us a wireless DA or logitech makes a mouse where the buttons dont stop working after 1 year lol
@@Malinkadink Well you're in luck, the Deathadder Pro or whatever they're calling the wireless model, is coming soon.
it's also the best mouse on market
Heavier mice are severely underrated. The mouse i performed best on, was a super heavy mouse, with a metal base (so it's lowest weight was quite high), multi-adjustable scrap metal looking thing, with weight rings (to increase or decrease the weight of the mouse based on how many weight rings you put on the mouse). I was damn near invincible on TF2 back then. Though of course, the mouse i was using was terrible, but that was for different reasons than weights, the gliding plastics undernear were paper thin and peeled off after a week of use, but i found a way to keep making use of it for a year after that anyway, lol. I wish i could have the same mouse and model, but with improved gliding plastics and a design more optimized for long-term use. Atm i'm using the basilisk ultimate, and it's basically the next best thing... Not as heavy as i would want it to be, would be nice with some weights, so i could choose to make it heavier, but in every other aspect, it's a fucking great mouse. :)
my razer basilisk x hyperspeed stopped working so imma probably get the ultimate now. thank you for the review :)
I just got this mouse today instead of the viper and G pro. It feels amazing to my hand! It’s light and god so precise! My gaming skills improved right away!

@@SouthernCannibal the mouse has been great man! The battery life is super long, I’ve gotten a few software updates and made the mouse feel a bit smoother. Check everywhere! They always have it on sale.
@@musclehead1992 Compared to a G502 or similar Logitech ones, how does the wheel click feels?. Stiff?. Like you cannot spam the hell outta it?. No issues with the clicks not being registered? Also, can you just save a single DPI "step" and hopefully RGB in the mouse's memory and uninstall Synapse and live without the app itself?
@@DVTHEFOX honestly I have not tried the g502 before but, I did tried it in the Best Buy store and it was heavier than the razer. I have not experienced any issues what so ever with clicks not being register. On the contrary its an amazing mouse to use. I use it to play COD & overwatch and honestly my skills did improve tremendously. The dpi can be programmed on memory I believe and it has a DPI button I hit to switch between my saved settings but I always keep it around 1k-1200. I have synapse on my laptop because I also have the wireless black shark as well as the razer wireless keyboard. I wouldn't know if uninstalling it would prevent me from switching between my DPI settings.

Basilisk V2 is wired, but its 13 grams lighter than the ultimate, youll like that more for way less price as well
I have that one. I don't regret a little bit. It's awesome, it feels a lot better than a G502
@@TrVx_ just bought it over my deathadder elite, and i love it
Lighter isn't necessarily better, if the object has no presence or mass, then aiming accurately becomes hard, because of a lack of feedback in weight. Lighter weight means faster movement speed of the mouse, but it also means over-aiming, that stopping the movement in time for good shots is also harder. I actually prefer heavier mice, the basilisk ultimate ironically isn't heavy enough for me, lol. :P When it comes to gaming, lighter isn't necessarily better, neither is heavier, the weight needs to be at the precise sweet-spot for optimal performance... Natually the sweet spot may vary from person to person, it is in no way universal. : /
I have the razor basilisk hyper speed. I think its the best one out the the whole range. For the price its an excellent mouse if you like wire less stuff, and I prefer using alkaline batteries in my things because if, they are easier to recycle than lithium ion. I also don't really care about changing a battery about once every two and a half months
I consistently switch between the Basilisk and 502 on my PC partpicker list because of that damn scroll wheel. Tried it in store and fell in love. The only thing is I wish the 502 was a tad wider...brb gonna do an eenie meenie minie moe

My five extra buttons on the left side of my G502 is vital for me during FPS games. Can't imagine replacing those with keyboard options. The basilisk looks beautiful though.
My right click on my basilisk feels weird, I don't know if it's just me or if the mouse is difected? My old mouse was the corsair harpoon. Can anyone tell me if this is just something, where I just need to get used to it? Or if I should replace it for a new one?

@@ZachGatesHere Just got the same deal for about $70. There's only one thing wrong with it.. the left click button kinda wiggles left and right a little and makes noise when it does that. Is it normal or just poor quality control? Maybe I'll get used to it, idk

Does the scroll wheel on the Basilisk have incremental snap or click forward and back like the 502 when you scroll? What I mean is the scroll wheel sort've lightly snaps it has ridges is not completely smooth on the G502 and it's good for gaming in my opinion and I'm wondering if the Basilisk has a similar scroll wheel?

I made the switch from the G502 to the Basilisk Ultimate v3 after four G502's died on me. The Basilisk lasted about a year before it started double clicking with the middle click. Rather than rebuy one, I went with the Glorious Model D, and I've since moved on to the G Pro X Superlight. The Glorious Model I is a similar shape to the Basilisk, so when they release a wireless version of that I'll probably pick it up. Right now the Model I2 Wireless is slated for a 2023 q4 release, so maybe I'll grab one then.

Gets a 3rd one bc i loved g-hub and didnt want to adapt to a new mouse...scroll wheel moves on its own...SMDH the QC issues NEVER got resolved with the G305...since 2019...ive had one every year...so now im going with a more premium/basilisk ultimate. No more AA batteries...and optical switches. The G604/hero EATS AA batteries like 1 a month...compared to the G305 sensor which is 3m+ per battery. Granted the G604 is always on sale...even 50$ currently...the feet dont last 6m on a hard pad....and the rubber grip is now peeling off bc its my laptop/daily driver mouse...so even the "HERO" would be premium logitech mice....fall apart like nothing. IDK how the shroud or G-PRO X hold up....but for 100$+ not worth my time if they will have the same issues experienced with other logitech mice. For 68$ for the basilisk or 60$ for the viper ultmate both with charging docks...its hard to beat that value aspect or look at 100+$ mice.

a question please, will the basilisk still be usable when we connect it with just the wire (aka not using the dongle)? my 5 year old logitech G900 can't, and will still need the dongle to be inserted to the computer, the wire is only for charging. so it is quite annoying, especially on my 5th year of use since its battery reading status is started to get drunk.
