Shinx has a form difference between male and female with their hind legs. So I believe those are the two form they’re talking about. The luxio that evolved was the other gender before it evolved.
I looked into this for the analysis video, and it's gender difference is the hair on its head! lol
@@AustinJohnPlays i think you’re both correct. On a female Shinx, it’s hind legs are black and all four of its paws are blue and it has shorter hair, while the hind legs and paws of the male are black, and it has longer hair

In Japanese Galaxis/Galactic are the same (both "ginga") and in the Presents they said it's the predecessor of Team Galactic :) Not sure why they changed in English.

I have an interesting theory. I think there is going to be a one of each of those red eyed boss Pokémon for each one of the elemental plates, when you defeat one of these Pokémon you get the plate E.G gyrados gives you a splash plate. Then you put all the plates at a shrine and you get an arkoos.
That’s a good theory, it reminds me of pixelmon in order to summon arceus on that you collect all plates and place them on a shrine

I literally don't think I've ever been more excited for a pokemon game since Sun and Moon. This has open world, plot, crafting, completing stuff, pretty locations, new mechanics, everything that I like and everything to keep me occupied.
From the part of unlocking new areas it sounds like it’s a Semi-Open world where their are large areas to explore but each part of the region is a different section. Which honestly makes sense from a game balancing perspective where the game revolves around catching Pokémon you don’t want your players to become over powered too quickly and ruin the game for themselves, so you cut it into chunks so you can have the game open up in a more natural way.

@@ultmewtwo because it specifically said in this video that more areas will open up after a certain goal is met. It’s more than likely tied to story progression. Again I think it’s a good idea given the gameplay. If you were able to go anywhere immediately and catch Pokémon from that area we’d run into balancing issues.

@@ultmewtwo i can easily see it. Grind a Pokémon to a good level then B-Line it to a better area and snowball until you get an OP Team quickly. Especially with the new battle system where with a good move set you could just hit them more often and widddle down tougher Pokémon. Alternatively they mention how some Pokémon can be caught without needing to fight them at all. In which case their might be some docile Pokémon that evolve to be much stronger or get good Pokémon through alternative means not yet explained properly (because again you don’t always need to fight them as mentioned) the Wild Area in Sword and Shield was much smaller and it was incredibly easy to get OP in that place. They probably don’t want to recreate that problem and are being more careful.
The trainer being able to take damage will make nuzlockes waaaaay more interesting.
For real man super curious to find out more of the mechanics to know how we’ll make Nuzlockes work
Oh boy, I can see the first rule update now: your trainer gets KO'd, it's counted as the player died. Instant loss, and delete the whole save and start over, regardless of the actual Pokemon team's status.

@@aaronlefebre5060 ha ha. what intrigues me is that if the trainer getting too damaged is what actually triggers blackouts rather than the team getting wiped, then it seems like they are suggesting if you can get your character away safely at the end then you could go revive your team. Depending on how hard it is to actually get away in those situations and from there to get safely to a camp, I could see some interesting rule adaptions that could allow a team wipe but continuing if you managed to get to camp safely, etc.
Something I have been wondering is that will the player be able to travel the cold area without any special gear? Or maybe you will need a fire type pokemon or you would have to shear a wrydeer to make clothing
We know we can get materials so shearing Pokemon is possible.

perhaps if you go in an area thats to cold you slow down and cant react as fast and cant sneak as easily thats only if you arent wearing the correct clothing for that eviroment only time will tell

One thing that peaks my curiosity is that, even though Cindaquill, Oshawott, and Rowlet have evolutions that we know of, and should probably be on the website, they aren't on the website. So, does that mean they'll have a different evolutionary line in the Husui Region?

This is amazing and all, and maybe it's just me, but I need there to also be trainer battles. I can't be the only person in this world that's able to craft pokeballs
Its not that you are the only person who can catch Pokemon. Its more like, the concept of a Pokemon trainer doesnt exist in this game. Trainer battles are some sort of sport games, like boxing. In those times, Pokemon are your assistant and not a battle companian. Hope I could explain it decently.

I wouldn’t put those expectations on this game. It’ll be fun no doubt but it’ll definitely suffer graphically and I’m gonna assume speed wise too. It will definitely be open world but other than that I don’t think it will have many other similarities to BOTW. It’ll still be fun as hell in its own way tho and way better than the last few Pokémon games hopefully

What if the Hisuian Growlithe line is similar to the Galarian Zigzagoon line, in that they add another evolution after Arcanine? Is it likely? Probably not, but I can hope.

i believe the dots next to the scroll (on the attack bars ie close combat) are the options for what style you can use with the move. the 3 attacking moves can use agile and strong style but for calm mind it only shows the one scroll so id imagine you can only use agile style with calm mind which is shown later in the video 11:53

I was talking to a friend I wonder if you have to build your team around certain situations or boss battles. In the trailer you see Crobat Vs. Gyarados in the water, I’m pretty sure you couldn’t use any other type that wasn’t flying or water.
It will probably be like that for certain bosses, but it would also be cool if they allowed specific Pokémon as well. For example: IF mega Metagross would have been in the game, he would be able to fight in said battle, despite not being a certain type or having an ability that would let him

I figured out what the little dot on the attacks mean. That is where it indicates if an attack is Super effective, Effective, or Not very effective and that's why it was only there for the attacking moves and not there for the status. The scroll denotes for strong or agile but the dot represents normally effective moves. In the trailer when he send out Vulpix against hisuian growlithe we see that Quick Attack and Flame Wheel have a NVE Triangle in place of the dot while Hex just has the dot which makes sense since a Fire/Rock would resist normal and fire attacks but has no resistance or weakness to Ghost attacks.
This battle system was on Digimon Cybersleuth as well (good game btw) so I'm very glad game freak add this mechanic even if this battle system does not apply on ranked battles

With growlithe being my favorite Pokémon, I must say that this new one will take getting used to. Ngl I was visibly confused but happy when it popped up.
you can transfer normal growlithe from other games and even go. So you can enjoy having both in your party
This excites me the most because I’m getting fossil fighters level of strategy vibes from this. I like the idea of Pokémon stats determining who goes first and whether or not their fighting type, besides Pokémon type, effects how you will attack.

i love this so much!! i’ll have BDSP for the casual stuff i know and we’re used to (and also diamond and pearl are the two main series pokemon games i never actually got to play growing up so it’ll be fun for me to get to experience them in any capacity tbh) and then this game to experience pokemon in a whole new way!! i cant ask for more personally, i’m so freaking excited!!
and the cool thing is: if they make more of these "legends" series we can already kind of figure out what the story is gonna be about. like for an unova legends game it is 100% going to be about the original dragons and kalos legends game will probably feature AZ and his entire story
What if the way Basculin evolves is you have to have several fainted basculin in your team when the one you're leveling up reaches the proper level?
12:20 I believe the dot denotes if the move is an attacking or status move. A little later into the video, bulk up appears to not have a dot next to it.

I’m guessing the research tasks, along with trial and error, will help you determine how you will have to catch Pokémon, ie, just throwing a ball vs battling it first.
Imagine if you craft clothing equipment from pokemon and each set gives you different effects that will help you in the wild, like sneaking, faster rolls and movement, etc. That will be dope :O
hey Austin thanks for the content as always, so now Cyllene is the ancestor of team galaxys leader in D&P the face looks identicall and both are heads of team galaxy, that will explain where the name comes from in the future
In regards to crafting, the icon on the right hand side in the necessary materials section looks almost identical to the item box found in the Yakuza games which acts as a place where items are stored elsewhere rather than on your person
Austin in the trailer you can see the pokedex entry and that pokemon apparently can drop items
It’s interesting that on the website it says “previously discovered form of Braviary” even though the Hisuian version of braviary would have been the first form discovered since the Hisuian region takes place before any of the other regions.

So urshifu was a sneak peak for what's to come with its dark and water forms. That's cool
What would be exciting is that when we complete a pokemons research tasks to 100% we get a map location or a special quest line that leads us to its shiny form. Shinys are a lot less valuable now with Home and PoGo integration so they might as well make it interesting to find them instead of just RNG.
For what I was able to get from the video, I don't think the map is an open world sand box, the village is a base of operations, and from there you fast travel to a límited sub area, there, you start from the camping site to investigate what is needed, going back to the base in the city from time to time....this doesn't mean that those map are little, they look massive, but they are not interconnected in real time ....te make references to this in te video, where the leader of the survey tolda us that we can explore some areas that we have unlocked... Or something like that.... And the map layout that shows a delimited area in the map when we move our cursor over it... Showing the extension of the area.... I don't think this is bad thought, is like older monster hunters maps, but with massives areas.
If this region becomes sinnoh then you can bet they’ll make this style game for the other regions. Can you imagine pre-kanto?! Amazing
The one thing I hope for is for co-op. I doubt they will but man wouldn’t it be fun to be able to run around and catch a Pokémon with your buddy.
The dots next to the move names denotes type effectiveness. This can be seen in the trailer; some moves had a triangle, denoting not very effective moves. The Golduck on the kimono is a reference to the Japanese mythological kappa, an amphibious yokai that Golduck is based off of, making the reference come full circle. And we got character ancestors. It may sound odd, but Laventon reminds me of Charon, the admin from Pokemon Platinum.
@Austinjohnplays I think that tentacruel you pointed out is Uxie could be wrong or one of the legendary spirits. Also calling in it now the leader of the survey corps is a ancestor of the leader of team Galactic D/P

The way it talks about gaining Hisuian Growlithe's trust makes me think the Evolution will be friendship based? Like Eeveelutions or Togetic.
Has anyone told him that the dot or triangle is the effectiveness of the move against the opponet? Calm mid does no damage = no symbol
I'm really curious how these "past" Pokémon could be implemented into future games, since they're going to have HOME connectivity with this game.
Probably similar to fossil pokemon, or areas in the game that create simulations to help make these pokemon adapt back into these forms.

With this game, im pretty sure in the future we will have pokemon legends zygarde that explains the story on what happened in kalos 1000 years ago. We will seee how Ash greninja and zygarde protected kalos. Or maybe pokemon legends kyurem that tells us the story of the lone dragon before it was separated.
Is there going to be trainer battles ? I hope so but I didn’t see anything in what was revealed
Just watched this again the moves with dots are moves that cause damage if they dont have a dot is a move that does no damage. cause if you look at calm mind and bulk up in the differnt scenes they both have no dots while Crunch Close combat and Aura Sphere all have dots.
Wyrdeer comes from the Anglo-Saxon concept of wyrd where we get the word weird from and roughly means destiny or personal fate.
My guess is that the alternate form thing is shinies, mainly just because other pokedexes have shiny forms and it doesn’t talk about shinies anywhere else. Forms probably include actual forms too but also shinies I bet.

Doubt it. At least not in the main game. Site has said since it was announced that pokemon training has not been popularized at the time. At best I would expect maybe some key moments where you might battle some unexpected antagonist. Next down being battles exclusive to player vs. player
The agile/strong style sounds interesting. Though I can’t help but feel like agile style is going to significantly outclass strong style. In the gameplay they showed, the Lucario was able to use a calm mind and an aura sphere before the Gastrodon could do anything
they made slow pokemon even worse.
