Huh, that may be a cheaper alternative to repairing my broken Switch's screen lol
My work around for my psp for years was a video out cable till I finally fixed it last year
People who like handhelds but cant read small text are gonna love this. I still feel switch games need better accessibility especially for text sizes

Brings back the days of old when we would do this with the OG Gameboy Color.
I remember doing this with the GBA SP. And the screen thing was basically just a magnifying glass. Worked pretty well for its time.
Main thing that makes me not super into this, is that it looks like my switch would overheat super easily in that thing.
Imagine it's docked, that's what it's doing.
Meaning it's less strenuous on the switch

@@natedagreat95my switch oled does overheat while it's docked. I got a brand new switch oled as a Christmas present from my mom last December. I rarely connect my switch oled to the TV because of that reason.

This reminds me of those gigantic Gameboy accessories where you had to put the whole thing inside huge box with bigger buttons and a magnifying glass for the screen.
I am low vision adn can literally play Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing on my actual switch, everything else has to be on the TV. THIS is a dream come true for me
I have more context to add to this!! So I think the reason for the dog tags is actually because this is an item typically sold at USAF bases at the base exchange-- and companies like to do cheesey thing like that when selling things to airforce bases. This was probably an item that was bought by someone to be resold..... (source: stationed at an afb and was looking at like 20 boxes of them today while checking for a GAEMs portable screen) Its one of those items that usually doesnt sell because the store buys them in bulk and its a kinda odd accessory.... so it tends to be passed over. Especially because its usually placed near the GAEMs cases... and if youre gonna deploy with your gaming systems, youre probably going to want a GAEMs case instead....

Apparently the screen is 1366x768 according to the reviews, which is why you can see the individual pixels on it. Interesting product, though I'd rather just use my TV.
I did something super similar for myself! I saw portable screens were on sale for like $60 at micro center and picked one up, then got a little portable dock, its not quite handheld but takes less than a minite to setup while on the move!
I definitely thought this was going to be one of those big magnifying glass things 😄

Looks good. I tried undocked yesterday and had a hard time seeing inside a TOTK cave. (I'm 46, my eyes aren't what they used to be.) Something to ponder for travel, or when I need a backseat display for kiddos.

I think if we werent so close to the Switch 2, I'd consider this because I just so happen to have a portable charger for laptops(which works with switch) but I'll definitely keep things like this in mind

2 Concerns with this: 1.) How is the airflow to the Switch while it's inside? 2.) Switch notoriously doesn't play nice with third party charge cords. What are the odds of this basically bricking the console the way that those do? Both of these concerns are an obvious "make it or break it (literally)" deal for me.
something with a buckle that can pass through those straps and be adjusted but also not take a lot of space wound be perfect.
It reminds me of the original Game Boy with ALL the accessories attached. All this needs is a shoulder strap, and you're good to go!

So I went to this game shop a while back and he had what he called the switch heavy, what it was was a Nintendo switch taped to a dock that had a mini generator hooked up to it and duck taped on, he even made it to where the joycons were in the sides aswell, this video makes me see a mini switch heavy XD

You can try a v V-mount battery from Smallrig with a belt attachment to power it if you already have one, obviously, getting one exclusively for that purpose is too expensive.
This would probably get me to use my switch out of the house and in hand held more. I’m sure I’d get used to the weight and it would be awesome.

This seems to be designed to sit on a flat surface propped up with the kickstand and played with the joycons off or with a pro controller. I feel like that would be the optimal experience.

I think the only game I own that I have a total hard time playing handheld would be Hades due to the layouts and texts looking so small in the og Switch. However I rather just play it on the tv than spending 200 bucks on a screen that will make holding the switch super heavy considering the few times I play it handheld is laying fully down on the bed. But hey it does seem convenient if you for the most part exclusively playing handheld and have poor vision and such.
This would be a good idea if you had the joy-cons off and had the screen propped up on a desk or counter to play. Especially a multiplayer game
You should be able to see what resolution this thing is running in the build in setup menu. But that aside, did you check if your TV Output Setting in the Switch is set on automatic? It doesn't make much sense aside the performance, but you can manually change the resolution to 480p, 720p and 1080p. Automatic should set it on the resolution the TV got, but maybe you can give it a try to manually set it to 1080p and see the outcome. A Problem i see with the straps is, even if you can use them to fix it onto a seat in front of you, where do you put the battery pack? With this in mind, you probably also have to carry a longer USB Cord with you, since there are also these little ones. Overall i think this is mostly thrown out cash, since the usage is so specific. The only good use i see is, that you could permanently install it on the back of the driver seat, if you have kids. Of course this also depends on the temperature the car usually got in summer or winter.
