Sheesh sarada
I’m hoping that Pokémon Legends introduced another new mythical pokemon, because in Generation 8, we only have one mythical pokemon zarude, so if there’s a new mythical pokemon, I wanted it to be a fire type mythical pokemon that resembles a leopard or jaguar that opposed zarude and basically zarude is the prey of the fire type leopard mythical pokemon and it will have type advantage against zarude, the new mythical pokemon will be the predator of zarude, because Generation 8 is the first Generation since Generation 1 & Generation 2 to only introduced one mythical pokemon, so introduced at least one more new mythical pokemon would have been awesome. And zarude is a mandrill/ape, apes are usually the preys of leopards, so introducing a leopard mythical pokemon would have been the best way to counter zarude.
@@kerrywien6775 It should be a bug type. They've never done a bug type mythical before.

I'm fairly certain the "box" looking thing that appears to hold 6 pokemon is just a stylized backpack. Same function of course, but a backpack makes far more sense given the time than some sort of gadget.
Yeah but you look at the icon below and it’s clearly berries, and items, etc. stuff you’d also hold in your backpack. So it’s clearly some sort of separate compartment
@@Nathan35077 probably the pokemon status menu then
The icon bellow showa berries, pokeballs etc. so must be the backpack
To me the box with the 3 circles look like an incubator
guys that’s clearly a phone and i’m not even joking. that’s a phone
The Dots and triangles theory is correct more than likely because they use the same icons in Pokemon home (at least on mobile) if you look at what your POKEMON is weak to it gives you those same explanations.
However, dots or circles in Pokemon Home mean it's super effective whereas regular damage uses no icon. Would be interesting to see what icon is used for super effective in PLA
Wait really? Never noticed that the more you learn
And I have a type matchup chart from an official Pokémon guide book that uses triangles to represent not very effective moves and large circles to represent very effective moves so it goes along with this theory
Don't forget Super Mysery Dungeon and Rescue Team DX had super effective symbols next to moves when selecting as well.
Dialga's chest piece features it's signature diamond, Palkia's shoulders hold two big pearls and there are 4 small jade crystals embedded in Arceus' golden cross-wheel Remember, Hisui = Jade
The fact that it's confirmed the Legends games can have new pokemon now, I can imagine a future Legends game based on Unova that introduces the Ancient Dragon that the legendary trio of that region split from
I imagine the ancient dragon is pure dragon but with lots of ice , fire , and thunder moves . Or maybe it’s pure dragon with an ability that gives it one of those 3 types under specific conditions
I reeeeeally want them to do this, I'm playing through Black rn and just seeing that lore play out would be incredibly cool
I really hope we get to meet/catch that original dragon. I’ve wanted that for so long!
The comment about ancient sinnoh being jade with the rest of the games also being minerals and more modern era was awesome. I’m glad someone put that together and I got to learn something new from it
The gears on the bike was the best fail I have ever had the pleasure of watching live
My guess at final forms for the starters would actually be to lean into their original themes. Rowlett > Grass/Flying (i.e. actually a grass bird type this time) Oshawott > Water/Fighting (a samurai otter) Cyndaquill > Fire/Rock (volcano theme) Flying > Fighting > Rock is also a rock/paper/scissors type trio.
makes sense
I'm sorry, but if they really do make samurott walk on two legs and look like a for real samurai, the other starters can beat it
This plz
It would actually make sense for Decidueye to turk into a Grass/flying type, since it’s originally based on an extinct owl (correct me of I’m wrong). And since this game takes place in a time long ago, maybe that owl hasn’t gone extinct yet.
This would be great but I wouldn't expect anything from Game Freak
i’m glad he’s a youtuber who actually reads him comments. when people don’t it makes them feel so disconnected from their fans

It's ok
I just wish he actually played all the Pokémon games. He’s a poketuber, who hasn’t played a lot of the games.
@@MagicalBread he’s not just a poketuber tho he just does games in general
Omg I just realized, with Legends: Arceus, we're opening the door to Legends: Kyurem, where we might get to see a complete Kyurem before it splits into the 3 Dragon Pokemon :O
Rhydon can historically use surf so theoretically it might be able to do water battles. It's one of the only ground/rock types with this ability.
Yeah right totaly forgot that but what would happen to a Onix though would it drown or like it is know just kinda standing on water
@@albedo4008 probably the latter but the former would be brilliant or even just not letting them out of the ball. It would be nice to see this go other ways, like no flying in a sandstorm or no grass or water types near lava (I don’t know if there will be any lava on this map, it’s just an example)
The access to Surf is mostly based on typing in Water and Normal but also has a massive group based on body shape. The "monster"/"Pokémon with a bipedal, tailed form" body shape Rhydon, Tyranitar, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Aggron, Haxorus, Druddigon, ... need I say more, share all get Surf and make up almost all none Normal/Water -type pokemon to get access to Surf, with a handfull being Humanoid shaped pokemon like Pangoro/Beartic/Slurpuff who also have a tail but are put into humanoid shape. It's a trend of inclusion, not a rule of implication so it doesn't work both ways, for example Electivire doesn't get Surf despite being of the Monster shape but of the pokemon thet get surf, almost all that aren't type implied are monster shape.
Prediction: when you defeat the boss pokemon(the one with the glowing red eyes) they will drop a plate of a specific type and once you collect all of the plates you will be able to catch Arceus.
that would be cool but arceus probably won’t be able to be caught
@@nateadem525 his name is in the title; so if he’s ever gonna be catchable, It’s gonna be in this game.
I love this and want it to be real..like when we had to collect to form zygarde I thought that was Hella cool
@@murlocmasher3368 as much as I want to but I hope we can’t. You cannot catch God.
@@mohdebrahim91 In August 2017, Arceus was handed out for free to X&Y/ORAS players. For doing absolutely nothing! You hope Newer fans wont be able to catch Arceus, after they purchased a game LITERALY centered around him?? F*ck your sh*tty opinion
I'd suggest playing Platinum over playing Diamond, because those are relevant differences.
i actually MEANT to SAY platnium, but brain fart. lol
@@AustinJohnPlays I figured as much, but in the BDSP video you sounded pretty unfamiliar with Sinnoh and I didn't want you burning 40 hours for no reason.
Rowlet could easily lose the ghost typing b/c the only reason it was ghost type was there is an owl species in (Hawaii) that went extinct. If we are far enough in the past, those owls could still be alive.
That can add fuel to the new evolutions for the starters
This is the reason it is a ghost type? God that's terrifying
Maybe the starters gets hisuian evolution since they are not sinnoh pokemon?
I don't really want a non ghost decidueye. They'd have to give it a new design and signiture move. Plus, do you think Z-Moves might tie into this?
@@sorenmathieson11 nah z moves are probably gone forever, plus theres no cutscenes for battles, its all in real time. we dont know yet [that im aware of] if we even have held items in this game.
Not to plug, but to give another thing that I saw, when the portal on Mount Coronet opens in the trailer, red, blue, and green energy pour out of it, much like the red, blue, and green energy that flows when cyrus summons Dialga/Palkia in DP on the same mountain. I made a video about this on my and my sister's channel called the "red chain" theory. I love your videos Austin and wanted to share this info with you.
If you've never played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky (which I cannot recommend enough; pick Sky because it's basically the Platinum to Time and Darkness's Diamond and Pearl, so it has a lot of quality of life updates and amazing extra content including a post-game that's basically an ENTIRELY SEPARATE GAME with how much content it has), then you don't know that the progression points in that game are based on completing certain story missions- stuff comes up that's obviously story-related and you and your best friend are sent in to investigate it, or bring back a specific item, etc. Sometimes the game gives you all the time in the world to do those missions (during which you can complete regular missions to earn money, items, and explorer points towards your next rank) and other times the game kicks off plot beats based on how many in-game days have been completed. As mentioned, there is also an explorer rank in that game that the whole 'points until next rank' thing IMMEDIATELY reminded me of. Mystery Dungeon Explorers didn't base their progression on this rank for the most part, but I'm also not going to be surprised if Legends does. Basically I'm expecting any of these. The fury pokemon are probably used in SOME way to measure progress- my guess is that they will be triggered to appear by something else happening in the game- either you completed a story mission you were given, or you ranked your pokedex up enough, etc.
The rage Pokémon have a totem Pokémon vibe no? It was also a non standard checkpoint system because alola didn't have gyms yet
im not reading all that

17:21 if they did do that reverse direction would be a nice reference to torterra, infernape and empoleons respective ground, fighting and steel secondary typings and that each of the 3 has a response to each other in d/p/pt and BD/SP
The fact that Hisui means Jade is very thoughtful. Very nice detail
Every time a trailer, Pokemon Presents, etc. comes out, almost the best part for me is all the Austin John breakdowns afterward. Appreciate ya
Love to see that he actually cares about the comments and the people watching, plus it's all super informative which is a massive plus
Fun fact hisuian Pokemon are just literal de-evolutions of the future Pokemon.
OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH
This was something I was really excited about and I hope that many more Pokémon have de evolutions because it’s interesting to see.
At 14:05 the Wurmple has an extra yellow horn in the back of it’s head which a normal Wurmple would never have. I wonder if Wurmples in ancient times had this extra horn behind their head? 🤔
Really like how Austin actually praises and notices his community/comments, not many big content creators interact with comments
Because most comments and people posting them suck (me included)
I hope that after the release of legends of arceus we get a dlc where we can dig up fossils in BDSP of the hisuian forms and get to play with them
This! I see so many ppl in the comments sections on videos about LA being all "don't you realize that Hisuian evolutions/forms must be extinct?", and I'm just like....literally when has that ever stopped us before?? Resurrecting extinct creatures from fossils has been in the games since day one, so even if the Hisuian Pokemon are extinct, there's no reason to think that they're barred from appearing in any future game, or as DLC in the current games (as SwSh has set the precedent for both DLC and adding in new Pokemon w/ the expansion, so you can bet that these new games are probably going to get some form of DLC as well). I think the only questionable ones appearing in BDSP are Hisuian Braviary and Basculegion, but only bc I don't think they've confirmed whether any Pokemon past gen 4 will be in the dex or not.
Yes!!! Fossil mons have always felt underused to me, this would be a great moment for fossil pokemon to pop back up.
The problem is these Pokemon would need to be DLC for sword and shield because that is where competitive will be staying. So it will be interesting to see if they drop the new pkmn in swsh & bdsp. But I’m betting they won’t drop them in either and just wait til the new games drop. (fingers crossed though)
The Pokemon Journeys anime featured both Stantler and Braviary in season one and had a sand surfing rig that was very similar to the way the rigs look in Arceus, plus it has the secondary storyline of Ash and Go learning about Pokémon behaviours outside of what's in the pokedex. The anime is dropping clues
They've been doing this for so long with everything they release..weather it be a video game..a new tcg set or even in pokemon go or in the anime..they have what I like to call "theme"pokemon..the most recent I can think of is smeargle..who they showed in Pokémon snap and then also had a card for him in the recent tcg set
Like they sit down and decide on certain pokemon that they're going to place their focus on for all the new products or updates that thy release
Many people missed that wumple had a horn at the back of it's head.
Just googled it and you're right. It's either an old variant or they simply made a mistake when colouring it.
HISUIAN WURMPY
It's a horn it always has, but in the trailer, the horn was beige instead of red like the rest of its body, as the horn usually is. Edit: But yeah, good example. Joe from Serebii even pointed it out on Twitter.
Oooooooh! Good catch, thanks!
new gender difference?
I love that in the map, you can see Snowpoint Temple. It’s possible you might be able to encounter Regigigas once Legends gets Home Support and you could transfer in the other Regi Titans to trigger an in-game mission
Austin John “What happens when u send out a rhydon in the water” Bro rhydon can use surf lol 😂
hahaha
Even though it’s 4x weak to water, it can surf ? Man, some pokemon makes no sense right ?
A rhino that can swim is weird and the fact that the rhino pokemon’s main weakness is water.
I’m really looking forward to this game, it’ll be such a different experience to other Pokémon games
Think I’m looking forward to Legends and Dokev (hope Austin does a reaction video to the newest trailer) the most.
It would be cool if they made a regional form of unknown, since this game is from back when the world wasn’t friends with Pokémon it could be an ancient form or unknown that protected wherever it was (forget where they are found) and as the bond with humans grew they devolved into the harmless things they are now
I've always wished for a form/evolution of Unown that is a literal swarm of them. We have Dugtrio, Magneton, Exeggcute and the like. Why not an Unown swarm?
@@dsaerno yeah! That has a lot of potential to be really cool and gives them more use then just aesthetics
That wouldn’t make any sense? How would they be different if they’re the letters of the alphabet?
@@MagicalBread they devolved into the letters or something, I don’t know, I didn’t put much thought into it, I just think it would be nice to make use of a Pokémon that doesn’t get used often if at all
@@MooCow765 I thought the lore was that written language was based off of the unknown?
1 thing im praying for in this game is a link character with a green electric wobuffet as a little Zelda Easter egg hidden in some cave somewhere
Or at least one npc saying “It’s dangerous to go alone”

The reason I feel strongly about the starters (mainly Rowlet) getting regional variants is because it’s set in the past. Decidueye was made Ghost because of the creature it’s based off of is extinct in Hawaii. I’m eager to see what new typing it gets for when the creature was at its peak.
What was Decidueye based on?
@@dweebicusmaximus it’s a mix of both the Pueo or barn Owl and the Grallistrix (stilt-owl), the latter being extinct
I think like a lot of people are saying it would probably remain Grass/Flying but even in the final evolution or they could even go a different route, though you never know what we will have in store.
@@robertleighty4217 very true, never would have thought the typings for the new regional forms.
16:15 also jade is characterized as a gemstone of the gods, I believe in some Asian culture (I don't know which,) the main creation god made other gods out of jade. Which lines quite well with Arceus.
The more I see about this game the more excited I get for it! Can't wait for it to come out
I'm really excited about this game, I think it has the potential to take the Pokemon games to new heights and I can't wait to play
I can't stop think what the story is going to be, just excited about it. I feel like as the story progress you meet more enraged pokemon and learn about arcues. with the story showing arcues to be the villain, cause the enraged pokemon. however later in the story it is reveild that it is not arcues (with something like an enraged boss battle or something) and it is actually graitina causes them. which then shifts the story about how arcues banished garitnia to the distortion world. as we know this happens in ancient times. i feel like darkri could work a bit with this but graitna fits better. why i think this is when you watch the legends arceus trailer at 2:16 when the enraged pokemon is spwan/caused it like the power is causing a rip in time and space unleasing it on to a mon. what do people think of this?
I do recall in the movie..Arceus was very opinionated on humans..so I could see why in this game he would be sending enraged pokemon to attack the humans
@@nerdymidget7484 I've not seen the movie xD, maybe this what caused arcues the be like that they way it was treated but the humans

I just found your channel after recently purchasing my Switch and I've fallen in love with it. I purchased Pokemon Sword this weekend and I've been burning through your old videos to pick up hints ans tips and it's been awesome so far. Thanks for all your hard work.
Since you have to use more Pokeballs in this game than normal the price going down makes sense. Just like let's go
I think the theme of the starters is the tradicional fighting styles in some RPGs, swordsman (samurott), archer or ranged (Decidueye), and brawler Typhlosion. Maybe they have form or type changes to match these categories more than now.
I was thinking Typhlosion would be a mage.
@@MrTayseanpwns Wouldn't that just make it Delphox then? But still, I suppose it'd be better than it turning into the 4th Fire/Fighting type starter.
@@kiryn5977 true, idk then
But that was gen's 6 theme, chestnaught being tbe Knight, delphox being the Mage and Greninja being the Ninja
Austin John, I think much of the credit for having such a fun and respectful comment section goes to you, as well. You provide wholesome content, you're real with your viewers, and you don't engage in drama like so many other content creators do. You just seem like you're a genuinely good person.
The reverse relationships among the starter Pokémon’s types make a lot of sense. In the Alola region where we’re first introduced to Rowlett, they did a similar thing with the starter Pokémon where Primarina was Water/Fairy, Incineroar was Fire/Dark, and Decidueye was Grass/Ghost, where Primarina’s fairy was strong against Incineroar’s Dark, who was strong against Decidueye’s Ghost, who then was strong against Primarina. They could do a similar relationship with Ghost/Dark/Fighting, where Decidueye remains Ghost, Typhlosion could be Dark, and Samurott could be Fighting.
Have you ever looked at Lockstin & Gnoggin's videos? He and his Team have done an excellent job covering all the lore about the Pokemon franchise.
I wonder how they’re gonna fit the Switch into this game, since it’s tradition to have the game console the Pokémon game is on in the game
This is a spin-off though....Coliseum didn't have a Gamecube anywhere
@@packofweaviles1027 maybe the real GameCube is the friends we made along the way

I really like this type of video! Very nice to see the detail you took in sharing the viewers comments and their takes on your video! 100%
Isn't the connection between the starters based on their inspiration? Samurai for Samurott, Kyudoka for Decidueye, and then there's an opportunity for Typhlosion although I've seen some point out his Sumo pose. Hisuian starter variants seem primed to lean into traditional Japanese warriors.
That makes me think that they'll all be given dual fighting types
@@nerdymidget7484 That'd be the worst.
Nah bro..Another fire/fighting starter is just what we need 😂
I feel like people in general do not give enough credit to how much details gamefreak puts into their games. Yes the games aren’t perfect but one thing we have to admit is that they put in the work when it comes to lore and research.
Well if they put a bit more effort into making games fun and work well then they might get more praise. No matter how much detail is given in lore if the games not fun no ones gonna praise it
@@TheDeadEnderpe To be honest Pokémon Sword and Shield and most other games are pretty fun. Sure, none are perfect but still fun and running fine.
@@TheDeadEnderpe i never saw anyone really ever saying that the games weren’t fun, it’s the same concept every gen with little updates every time. People are more complaining about the graphics and stuff like that.

@@echotechgames8680 thanks

Lord arcoos
John, one thing to think about is the typing of the travel pokemon we can ride. Wyrdeer, Basculegion and braviary. The reason wyrdeer and braviary are psychic type is so that those pokemon can sense/read the players mind and anticipate when the player needs a ride. So braviary is ready to pick up the player as they jump off the cliff Basculegion is ghost type because the player needs to summon him through any body of water, therefore Basculegion can travel beyond the physical realm and appear in any body of water even if not connected to the ocean such as a lake. This is why I don’t think the travel pokemon will necessarily be pokemon in our party.
Just want to say love your videos bro I know it can be time consuming breaking down every detail but you do it well thanks for good content
Hey Austin, one thing that I haven't been able to get out of my head since I have seen the trailer: with regard to the - (minus) button, and what the heck that mystery icon could be, the shape of it just reminds me so much of an incubator from Go, could it maybe be how we hatch Pokemon, what do you think?

I love all the things that you pointed out from your viewers. So cool that you made a video dedicated to your community about what they think could be in the upcoming games.
14:14 The symbol is also over on the right with the lil text blurb talking about Research Quests, it seems like you can track a specific quest or your next Big Story point with it.
I'm enjoying this format a lot! You should do these more often!
I wonder if the third icon in the lower left is the pokedex notebook? Or if the story behind Aceus relates to japanese legends/myths in some way. Love how you take the time to accuratly give your views on the information given and how you take the time to connect the dots with a lot of these things. You're one of the few youtubers i watch that actually does research then discusses everything while taking others suggestions/opinions into account! ❤ Was late watching due to irl stuff but now i'm all caught up 😊
thank you for the new video! i have so much fun watching them.
A little detail that isn’t in the trailer but is on the pre-order page on the eShop is that Heavy balls cannot be thrown as far a regular poké ball. This (IMO) seems to indicate that other types of poké balls could have similar effects like speed (quick ball), distance (net ball cause the net could extend the range to catch a pokémon) and numbers of the same species caught (repeat ball).
I think that when you battle a gyarados like in the presentation it’s like a sky battle where you can only use flying types but in the water you can use the additional water type Pokemon in one of these battles
Best episode of yours I've seen yet man. More of this.

A channel like this is usually about the "star of the show" (in this case, Austin) sharing their theories and knowledge. So it's really amazing to see a content creator (who obviously loves their community) shift the spotlight to the people who helped them make it all possible, and allow them to share their own theories and knowledge in the video.
Personal headcanon, Dustox is going to get a Hisuian form based on Klara's from S&S DLC, and we didn't get to see a single Dustox in the trailer, while we have seen 3 - 4 Beautifly. Wurmple has a sus yellos horn, which it didnt have before. Some think it's a gender difference or a form indicator, but all 4-5 Wurmple we have seen in trailers had the horn. This means it's a common feature for their species in the Hisui region. It's worth noting that it would make sense to change Wurmple too much, since the Beautifly line stayed the same. Another interesting thing I found online was that the number of dark coloured moths increased after industrialization ( currently happening in the Hisui region) and Klara's bow shows a white coloured Dustox. To note, again, it's a personal wish for it to happen anf therefore seeing patterns that might not be there.
Wonderful video Austin!
Great video man looking forward to more videos in the future
This video was amazing, great work 💪
Another awesome video Austin!
I love that you come through here and read these comments. I often read through them as well, and other people really help inform my opinions on things, knowledge about a subject, and so on. The comments can be a wholesome, informative place sometimes and it’s nice that Austin reads through them. Thanks dude. ❤️ I didn’t catch you playing through Pearl on Twitch but imma go toss you a follow now!
Good work Austin as always
10:16 When you're in the shop and you see the rice, maybe it would heal YOU after you get hurt by a pokemon. That way you have a way to take care of yourself, amd you don't have to run back to the vase camp if you're about to die.
kind of like making curry will restore your team's health so you don't have to run to a pokemon center in swsh. i like the idea
This video is honestly heartwarming cause it shows Austin is going through and carefully reading and appreciating each of the comments, as opposed to just trying to boost engagement numbers or something like that
Thanks for this format, do that more often 👏👏👏👏
14:15 that symbol is a quest icon, and it will presumably be wherever on the map your active quest is. In this shot, you can see that the player has an active quest called "getting to work on research tasks" which says you need to talk to the professor in the field somewhere. It has the same icon next to it, and then the icon is also present on the map in the field where that quest implies it would be located. So it's just the generic quest marker icon, not something that tells you the region that a specific quest is located in. We already have different region icons from the pokedex and that icon doesn't match the icon we saw for the obsidian fields there.
14:14 Wow! Neil you really nailed that one. Impressive dude.
Love your videos man don’t comment often but I’m glad you enjoy your community
18:27 - Austin hovers over my comment. Me: Gets nervous, but yet excited if he would say anything about it. I am glad to be apart of this amazing community!
This is my new favorite Austin John vid 💯
Nice video, very interesting info and insightful.
14:11 wurple has a new horn on its back witch in other games it only has one horn it could just be a tiny change it it can be a minor regional form like alolan diglit.
I still think that instead of there being gym leaders. We'll be going throughout Hisui to various native villages and colonial settlements; the equivalent to gym leaders being like village chiefs or town sheriffs or something like that. Maybe there are story-quests and mini story-lines that help build-up the story itself. Maybe it's because I like the aspect of building up towns and settlements, but I hope we get to build up the towns and villages that turn into the cities of Sinnoh today. Like, we build the lighthouse in Sunyshore, the church in Hearthome, the statue in Eterna or the old Chateau in Eterna forest, etc.
hi austin great video but theres one part that made me think. At 17:55 you talk about that pokemon battle. Now what instead of only flying type and water types only able to fight there what if that is a quest and they give you rental pokemon to let you fight against the pokemon the quest wants you to do?
I love this type of video i hope to see more in the future
The frustration with the bike...I felt that. I've done things like that so many times. Also, super excited to see if the starters actually get new final evolutions. It would make a lot of sense with the theme of D/P being evolution. Rowan specializes in Pokemon evolution and a lot of older Pokemon get new evolutions in 4th gen. Not even just evolutions but also baby forms.
Looking at the icon from 8:30 it seems to be an incubator to me. Looks just like POGO incubators and would be a much more convenient way to store eggs than in the players party. Especially since having to cycle through Pokémon on the right would feel clunky with eggs that you can’t send out being there.
Hi Austin love the content keep it up
