Well the leopard ambushes dogs ,catches them unaware or sleeping they dont have a chance to fight . It's not about the dog ,its about the stealth and power of the big cat ! In this case the dog managed to be alert in time and retaliated. Big cats usually walk away from most animals that fight back. Big cats also rarely make noise when being hurt, take lions, when they get horned by buffalos, they don't scream at all, bcs they can't really scream like domestic cats do, even domestic cats don't scream when they get mauled by a dog. The dog obviously loosen the bite, the dog itself is scared, so when the leopard jumped, it knew the leopard wanted to run away and didn't want to take risk, so it releases and run away too. If the leopard wasn't hurt, it would've killed the dog on spot. Oh yeah and notice that when the leopard jumped and ran away, its nose is still bitten by the dog until the dog chose to release it, it really wasn't a weak bite

Its like when you get your nose pinched by a lobster, your first reaction would be, well, kinda like "paralyzed", and slowly you regain your strength to pull it off, except this time, your nose is extremely sensitive and the lobster pinchers have long sharp teeth and is shaking your nose. Its either that or the leopard knew it can't pull off immedietly and once the dog has a loose grip or it knew it had no other chance, so it jumped, the dog may harden its grip then released when it jumped, since the dog got picked up too.

The fact that the dog does not appear to be a Pit Bull makes this even more impressive. Pit Bulls were bred and used for fighting purposes and used against many different creatures from bulls, wild pigs, badgers, other dogs, etc. The fearlessness and willingness to grab and hold a big, powerful opponent is something Pit Bulls are bred for. People that know what the term gamebred means know what I'm talking about. But a dog that is not a Pit Bull doing something like this against a leopard is more impressive to me, because the dog is not bred for going up against big and dangerous creatures and not game but still faced a leopard and even got the upper hand.

This is one of the few dogs that would bite back. Maybe the dog was used for hunting and was already on guard. Dogs that are killed by leopards in India are either sleeping or caught off guard. I've seen multiple and even smaller stray dogs who chased leopards away because they were awake or on guard.

In general, most breeds can't kill a regular leopard alone, it might need 2 or more trained dogs(varieties) to pin down and kill a regular size leopard in a cage match. But Kangals from a hunter could kill a leopard with high difficulty, they usually live in different places so it's rare for these animals to meet.

The leopard ran a lot faster. Once the dog saw it wanted no smoke, it let the leopard go and disengaged.
When my dog was taking care of a newborn kitten at home, he was always by the kitten's side, watching over it. He was always by the kitten's side, even when giving it milk or letting it pee. This was the dog lucky day. He's hanging on for dear life from being eaten. Normally a dog will be unable to move or run from shock just by the presence of the leopard. This was one in a million he got away.

It's impressive, but not so surprising for me. Each predator can make a mistake, and many dogs are actually very tough and skilled animals. Obviously the cat was stunned, maybe really by the pain, or also by the whole situation, but managed to escape from the bite very quickly. If it was a fight to death (f. e. female leopard protecting cubs), the fight would most probably continue. Anyway, good for the dog, that it realized the danger too and ran away quickly - I mean that he didn't get some blind over-confidence, which could end theoretically fatally in some next leopard encounter.
This is leopard is probably dead before fight Or there's been a similar situation. Dog cant beat animal like a leopard. For example, clouded leopard is small leopard with 20kg in average and he can beat easy dogs who has 60kg or more. Leopard from this video is way larger than biggest clouded leopard. It is not possible that the dog won a clean fight. Kangal literally can beat leopard like this 1 in 70 fights
@@stojmari At the end, the cat simply slipped from the dog's bite and both animals ran away. Honestly, I would give my money on leopard, even here, if it was a fight to death. But this was miles away from a death fight, it was a failed attack on prey - and cats prefer to ambush the prey, they don't want to fight with prey and risk injury. If the prey fights back, at least according to videos I've seen, they occasionally get hesitative, defensive, or even quickly run away.

The leopard had to have been young and inexperienced. They can take down a cape Buffalo and other big animals. They can even kill and carry a dead zebra up a tree. I seen this before on you tube and couldn't believe my eyes. Unbelievably strength 💪

Big cats are apex predators and dogs are first or second teir predators(depends on species) and these are rare cases where the big cats are usually abused before anything starts or even poisoned (by some traps or food)since a match in the wild will always get the big cat as a winner it is normal to see these comments people are just trying to understand stuff using there own explanations when the real one isn't known I respect ur opinion tho but dogs are friendly and day creatures and leopards are night so it doesn't make since there is something behind the scenes (that we are trying to understand)and excuse me for my bad spelling I have a problem with my keyboard 😅

This is the only video which proves that there still are some brave dogs. And that looks very much like a mutt to me. My grandpa always said to me that a mutt is the only dog to go for because they don't eat much and are disease free and as brave as it gets .
I have a mutt and she is very beautiful and intelligent. I dont have a lot of problems friends have with their dogs, they just seem really sharp and intelligent with strong good instincts
I’ve had mutts my entire life and they are fantastic dogs, but we have a pair of pure breed American bulldog terrier’s now and knock on wood they’re both really healthy, arguably the bravest dogs we’ve had and both have awesome personalities and I can tell you they would die trying to protect me. Pure breeds aren’t to be avoided but some breeds do have more problems than others you just gotta be aware

All the people focusing on the cat are oblivious to the same thing happening with a polar bear and a sled dog. A polar bear is much more powerful than a leopard. Same result. Wild predators are not used to potential prey biting back. So they get "nervous". Get educated people.

idk what breed it is but we have gaddi dogs up in the mountains in india. We have had many of them over the years..they were bred against leopards and bears.just a few days back 40km from my home 2 or 3 of them killed a leopard.But this guy here is alone.
