Vaxee XE Wireless and NP-01S Wireless Quick Review (Familiar Shapes)

Not too in depth on this video because the shapes are pretty known at this stage, you can easily watch the full in depth reviews of the shapes of either the Logitech G Pro Wireless or the NP-01S Wired (size guide and shape analysis): • VAXEE ZYGEN NP01-S tho...
Anyway, some great quality mice from Vaxee as usual, reminiscent of the Zowie days when the team worked there, but with some nice modern improvements on features. A little heavier than what's usually recommended, but still worth checking out if the shapes suit you.
Just a note, I thought "XE O" was the name, but the "O" just stands for Orange, the versions I have. I'm so used to mouse names being a bunch of letters I just assumed it was part of it. :D

  • the NP-01S is a godsend for people that hold the mouse at an angle. never had a mouse that just was compfy on first setup. its not perfect for me, the curves could be more agressiv, but at that point you could not sell i to people that have clawgrip or fingertip anymore. So this is probably the best shape for people that have a "angled palmgrip" for a prodution mouse

    @the1sH0@the1sH09 ай бұрын
    • Interesting take, so that extra length with that height allows for angled palm for you? It feels good to me, just I think the NP-01 shape is better with the 2:1 ratio, so if they just made that smaller and lighter, essentially it'd be an improved Zowie S2, which would rank really highly if the weight was right. Great shape, really like it, just the other mice are a fair bit lighter. That said, had a lot of fun playing on the NP-01S wireless so can definitely understand the appeal. Button height is a bit high though, would be good if they lowered that somehow, I'm used to the MZ1 height.

      @RocketJumpNinja@RocketJumpNinja9 ай бұрын
    • @@RocketJumpNinja its not even the height for me, its the curves on the side the slight S shape it has in combination with the hump just falls better into my hand. i think "palm" is not really the right term, its something between finger and palm -> but i think a full "angled palm grip" will still benefit from the NP-01S Wireless greatly holding it with fingertip and supporting with the palm at the knucklepart of the ring and small finger at the hump . I support the mouse with thumb under the lower sidebutton. Imagine putting your hand flat without twisting it, bending your fingers a little (wrist on the desk and fingertips on the desk) and than putting your hand over the mouse without losing that position. only middle and point finger will be slightly elevated and thumb at the lower sidebutton. as if im pressing the mouse into my ring and small finger with my thumb (ofc not with a lot of force, just that it is stable) the mouse naturally will be angled to the left (as righthander). only the fingertips and the knuckes of ring and small finger will touch the mouse the handposition is similar to useing an ergo mouse, withot useing an ergo mouse -> but those are to big because i still use my fingers fingertipstyle for recoil and microajustments you can do it with many mice, its more compfortable if you use smaller mice (lamzu mini is good too). sadly the MZ1 and the X2 are not as nice, because the shape forces you into "straight fingerstyle". for me the finalmouse is also not good, because it actually causes cramps for me (the only one that does for me)... something about those outward shaped mousebuttons i think (my ringfinger usually rest at the top right side, right next to the right mousbutton) only downside for me is, that i have to compensate for the angle by either: pulling the mouse up if i wanne flick to the right, or use rawaccel to change the sensor rotation (what im currently doing with about -7°)

    • I think I might be the same, more of the underside of your knuckles rest on the mouse not the actual palm?

      @Sizzling420@Sizzling4209 ай бұрын
    • @@the1sH0 same way that i've been griping it. i like how narrow it is, so im quite precise, and a bit extra length which puts it away from 2:1 ratio actually makes it more comfortable for me, since all small mice feel too short for my 21cm long hands. I also touch just a little bit with my small and ring finger knuckle so it adds a bit of stability and point of rotation.

      @TheMirzaProduction@TheMirzaProduction9 ай бұрын
    • @@Sizzling420 yes, most of the time only the underside of the knuckles rest on the mouse, only time it doesnt is, if im doing spraycrontroll or do small flicks down, than only the fingertips hold the mouse, up until the back of the mouse hit my actuall palm near the wrist, than im starting to move my arm.

  • I've had my XE wireless for close to 6 months now and it is end game for my hand size (21*12), its comfortable so I can palm it for work while still easily switching to a claw/fingertip for games. Build quality is second to none and every time I hear my friends complain about g-hub and whatever Razor software they are forced to use being bloatware or causing problems on their systems it makes me appreciate the route Vaxee took and I don't even mind the 16g difference.

    @Fifty_Two_Hz@Fifty_Two_Hz9 ай бұрын
    • I have the same handsize, the bloatware is a bit of a non-argument nowadays imo, the 16g is too much to pass up for me. I do think this is the best mouse shape you can buy, so there's the tradeoff for me. Does it hurt you at all at the wrist after prolonged gaming sessions?

    • It will most likely be delayed, as there are some new versions of it coming out soon with 4k Hz, optical switches, and a nordic mcu = Longer battery life, no idle delay, presumably really low latency on the clicks with minor chance of double clicking.

  • I understand the take on weight meaning they are pushed down the top mice list but ranking them below the Fnatic Bolt feels criminal to me

    @aversiveac6459@aversiveac64599 ай бұрын
    • Agreed. The bolt is a subpar mouse in comparison

      @mikethekidd_@mikethekidd_9 ай бұрын
    • So trying to rank them mostly by shape, but giving a nod to mice with better tech and features or lower weight. The Bolt has a really good shape, I think even better than the NP-01S, so that's why it gets the nod. It's similar to the MM710, while technically not as good as other mice, the shape was one of the best for aim for me. Razer Viper Mini still ranked pretty high because of that too, despite being wired. So many great mice, it's hard to get the list perfect or really consistent, they're all good in different ways and suit different people, which is why I generally say ignore the number and find what has the right features for you, but at the same time, looking over the list, it looks pretty good. A few more tweaks and I think we're there. The problem now is I gotta go back and test all these mice so I actually remember why I ranked them where I did (it's been a while!). I bumped up the Vaxee mice a fair bit but that's mostly because I don't remember why I ranked them where they were ... pretty sure it was higher weight and cables, but now they're around that weight and wireless, so it makes it harder. Also the NP-01 overall design is really good, other than the button height being a bit high.

      @RocketJumpNinja@RocketJumpNinja9 ай бұрын
    • @@RocketJumpNinja I appreciate the well thought out reply and sticking to the philosophy. I agree the bolt got a lot right with the shape but I would imagine it's getting left behind by it's competition in all other aspects. I understand the list isn't to be followed in a completely rigid way which allows for a lot of personal preference. I would say as an extra that the pulsar x2 mini is similar to the bolt and likely beats it in most categories. Id love to see you review the new v2 pulsar mice. I suspect you'd likely main the pulsar x2 mini if the mz1 didn't exist.

    @DeusKite@DeusKite9 ай бұрын
    • the less contact between mouse and mousepad, the faster the glide in my experience. so bigger feet = slower glide. small feet = faster glide.

      @twixy..therianz@twixy..therianz8 ай бұрын
    • Small feet on hard surface are usually faster while larger feet on soft surface are more consistent. If you do not have weight on your mouse small feet will usually be faster (if you use the material for them). Harder material is usually faster then softer material. But then again ptfe feet usually have a more consistent wear then glas or saphire scates.

    @toastymctoastinson@toastymctoastinson7 ай бұрын
    • Unfortunately video aspect ratios are not dynamic, so no, it's either one or the other. If I make the footage standard while the rest is ultrawide, all it's going to do is add even more black bars on the sides as well, instead of just top and bottom. On an ultrawide monitor or phone, these videos fill the entire screen. I'm using ultrawide these days so it's awesome watching videos that fill it. That said, most people are still on standard, so yeah I can put it to a vote and see what people want to watch.
