Pwnage StormBreaker Gaming Mouse Review (basically a magnesium wireless Zowie EC2)

If you want a top tier light weight wireless mouse, basically the shape of the Zowie EC2, this is definitely worth a look. Pwnage has been around for a long while now, I've tried their mice before and they've been good, but this one seems a lot better (build, features, etc). Plus it's like the Finalmouse Starlights, which are amazing. Expensive, but if you want special mice like this, you have to pay the extra for them.
Around 52g, long battery life and all that (you can check their website for all those details), was a lot of fun trying this one.
As for ranking, I think the shape of the Viper V2 is still better for aim and I guess Razer would be a safer bet technology wise and all that (Razer is doing amazing work), but if I couldn't get the Viper and this suited my hand size, I'd be choosing this. That's how I try to figure out the ranks, what would I choose if hand size didn't matter (and depends on what's available, I'd have chosen the Starlight shape from Finalmouse instead of this).
No bias of course, no affiliation with Pwnage, here are my actual affiliations...

  • Great review, thank you! Do you still mainly fingertip grip? I have been using fingertip grip for a while but to mix it up recently I've been trying claw. I bought the EC2-CW as I'd never tried the shape before, I think I should have waited for this as I love my starlights.. and it does look pretty good. Also about the side cutouts, I don't know if this is the reason but over the years I've seen a lot of people complain about honeycomb shells or shells with cutouts because of feeling them/gripping them or even because they think sweat and dust is going in through the holes. I have quite a few mice with cutouts and can honestly say it's never bothered me, but maybe that's the reason why they used a different shape cutout on the sides?

  • The two things You mentioned, left side having this huge back flare and right side not beeing slanted, so there is no ledge are the reasons why generally ergo mice don't work for me. One thing I would like to have from an ergo mice is that right side gradually gets wider, like on the g303 but not as extreame. My pinky sticks out from the other fingers which makes me cramp on basically any mouse, and especially on mice with front flares. Thats why Rival 110 shape worked for me because I rested my pinky on that back flare but the flare on the left side hindered my movement so much. After more than a year of trying different mice now I know why I can't find the perfect one for me, there is none at the moment. OP1we is close, and the Lamzu Maya will be the closest but for now I have to wait. Thank You for a videos, they helped me realized some things about grips/shapes, keep the good work.

    • The g502 really is the best all-round mouse I've ever used. The newer iterations on it are great too (lighter and more modern switches). The only other thing that came close for me was the steelseries Rival 5 - It fits in the hand similarly, and I think the "lever" style extra thumb button on it is an actual genius design that feels better to use than the g502 extra index finger buttons. Sadly, the wheel on mine started misfiring inputs, so I had to go back to the 502. No beating Logitech's wheel tech, I guess.

  • I have run into an issue with my back thumb knuckle, It made me leave small mice. Basically I naturally grip things by pushing the last thumb knuckle and it goes into a position like if you're pinching salt or something. I'm afraid I will have to consider the grip because my mom just visited and she grips everything that way too and she just started getting big pain from it and the joint sometimes dislocates and she has to pull it back to place. Apparently doctors said that it's because of how women grip things, imagine seasoning for food. Unfortunately, I grip mice exactly like that and I'm thinking that egg shaped mice might break the angle for this issue to happen.

    @333moon7@333moon77 ай бұрын
    • Also to add: my hands are 19.5 by 10.5 which is pretty above average and using mice meant for hands a bit smaller in size. It is also painful for me to have wide backs in mice. I tried to 3D print an FK1+ shell and the grip width is perfect for my hand size but the back is making me push the back of my palm to be wider. It kinda feels like an egg or a fairly "rectangular" mouse is the way

    • @@RocketJumpNinja I have loved a G102 and aimed my best after leaving an EC1 but then I tried other small mice and they didnt work for me with the "hourglass" shape which most mice have. That started giving me pain over time and made me go back to large. I'll try to find my G102 and give it a go. I also use an mm720 for work and the thinner back feels nice but it is a bit too short. I wish someone made an egg as long as the G102 because the orochi and its copies are short too

  • how about a pulsar xlite v2 review?

    @three36ixx@three36ixx6 ай бұрын
  • Sorry for going off-topic, but I have a bone to pick with you, Mr. Rocket Jump Ninja (if that is even your real name, 🤨😄). I saw your video about the small mouse challenge. I have relatively large hands (20x11.5cm), and have always used medium-to-large mice. Your video made me curious about small mice. I wanted to try your Xtrfy MZ1, though you suggested that it might not work for larger hands. But the Pulsar V2H Mini was recently released, and I relented and bought it to try out. At first, it was indeed a bit uncomfortable and fatiguing to use for long sessions. But after a couple of days, it became progressively more comfortable. However, after using it for a couple weeks, I'm finding that my large mice - including my Razer Viper V2 Pro and Deathadder V3 Pro - now seem somehow a little too big and unwieldy in comparison. In fact, I'm finding myself preferring the V2H Mini, especially when playing my shooter of choice, Destiny 2. Micro adjustments just seem easier with that mouse. So, I'm blaming you for my large mice gathering dusk on my desk. 😡🤣

    @meame6945@meame694523 күн бұрын
    • I've been using my current mouse (MZ1) since it came out over a year ago, no issue with the holes. And benefits of magnesium mouse... they can be made really light weight while remaining strong. And other than that, just the cool factor I guess? Probably some others but those are the two that come to mind.

      @RocketJumpNinja@RocketJumpNinja23 күн бұрын
  • Honestly, it doesn't really FEEL like an EC2. It resembles. Also, would be rather cool if you included the EC2 in the shape / size comparison - as you compared these two throughout your video

    @sjofelumsk@sjofelumsk7 ай бұрын
    • Feels like an EC2 until the top left area, the "feel" of the EC2 is higher than this one. Otherwise it's basically the same. That's mouse design though, subtle changes can make a big difference in feel. That said, even with the EC2 next to it, I doubt I could even show you what I just said. The differences are more obvious to the fingers than the eyes or camera. That's one of the things I struggle with in these reviews ... I know what I can feel but there's just no way to show it properly with the camera, other than showing each individual measurement but given how little that will mean to people, there's no real point putting that much effort in.

      @RocketJumpNinja@RocketJumpNinja7 ай бұрын
    • @@RocketJumpNinja I have both right next to me and the EC2 has a thicker feel to it compared to the Stormbreaker. Overall dimensions are rather similar, then again the variance in shell curvature naturally has an impact on its own. Both share that gradual slope from top to back bottom, overall same same but different. I do agree on the cutouts though, they should indeed have been different directional-wise. Doesn't bother me in actual use though but definitely worth a mention as pointed out in your video, happy that you included that

      @sjofelumsk@sjofelumsk7 ай бұрын
    • For sure. And yeah when I say the top left feels higher that's what creates that thicker feeling too, I think. I had them side by side so I know what you mean, it's just not easy to explain or show why when most of the dimensions are the same. In the end, it's basically an EC2 so that'll do hah

    • It's justified because its main feature is that it's using magnesium, and magnesium mice are expensive to make. If you're just looking at tech specs and all that, then yeah obviously not much better than other top mice. But you can't just dismiss its main feature and say it's not justified, that's not fair to the makers.
