The G4ME line from Sennheiser has been upgraded with two new headsets, the ONE and the ZERO. The ONE is an open style design with excellent drivers and incredible comfort while the ZERO is a closed acoustic headset, implementing unique features like collapsible ear cups for travel purposes, appropriate clamping force with soft leather padding and specifically tuned drivers with an outstanding soundstage.

I Love your reviews so much! I can allways count on you to give the best reviews
Best reviews over here. I love the camera work, graphics, close ups. You pushed ''making a review'' to whole new level!
When making videos, aside from delivering critical reviews, i think of these as productions to expand my quality to the next level. Any feedback is always appreciated on how we can improve :D
HardwareCanucks You could make a 20 min review of the top 5 dog turds and I would happily watch the whole thing and applaud at the end!
Brandon Friend please make Dmitri do this for an April Fools Joke!
The cable is removable on mine, you also have another 1 jack cable... , I don't agree with the sound frequency response though....

What a good review. So many reviews just state the obvious like the physical characteristics but this review actually talked about what matters to gamers, like how the distancing in game sounds, the bass and treble pitching of this headset etc. Maybe a little more discussion on position accuracy might have rounded out the review but otherwise this review covered more than a lot of the other reviews out there that just rehash only the physical characteristics, well done!
Best camera work on KZhead to date! Excellent review :P
I absolutely love your review videos. You just take it to the next level.
really nice reviews dimitry , they always make my day , really really professional filming man , its much appreciated !!
You guys have literally the best reviews online !!! love the audio and dat cinematography stunning.
Thanks so much! Stay tuned for our weekly reviews and shows.
Been following for ages ! I enjoy the keyboard, headsets and mouse reviews !!! Keep up the awesome channel PS please try do a review on Roccat KavesXTD
WOW! Watched 10 reviews on this model, but your review is not only the best, but the most professional, informative, clean, modern and straight to the point that ive ever seen! Top-class reviewing mate, ty! Really helping me make a decision between 2 models that im having a really hard time deciding due to completely different features (Zero or PC 363D)
Zero!
love your headphone reviews
Mic Test at 1:55
Thomas Rico THANK YOU
thanks captain
a real MVP. Ty
Thanks
Thomas Rico thx m8
Your videos are so amazing and futuristic feeling 10/10 would play again -ign
Something additional to mention. Sennheiser seems to have it *updated*. The Game Zero I got has a removable cable and comes beside the normal cable (1x for speaker, 1x microphone - each one 3 conductor connector) with a cable that has a 4 conductor connector (i.e. for your phone).
I would like to see that comparison with the ONE and the 558 as well. Cheers mate.
I was worried about the white color too. Turns out I prefer it now that I have them. They really kick ass in sound and comfort. I forget Im wearing them and look around for them.
Love your vids, really detailed, and you just got a new subscriber!!
+Robert Newnes welcome 👌
Awesome review, and very thorough.
Finally got me a black pair of the Game Zero! Very much happy with my purchase and back here to confirm my bias.
I would love to see a comparison video as in in the market for a new headset, and these two are on my watch list.
I'm looking forward to a review of the new Kingston hyper-x cloud headset and see how it compares. Great review!
Can you do a review of your HD 558s so we can have an idea of what you're comparing these (and other headphones) to, and why you use them as your daily driver?
For me, I already have a dedicated amp, separate mic and Beyerdynamic headphones that are all great. However, I still picked these up for gaming and skyping when I'm in a somewhat noisy environment. For quiet times and music, I use the open Beyerdynamic's
As an owner of these, I have to say I absolutely love them
Man one thing I love about your videos is the music! The sound quality is nuts! Sounds better than Google play music. What's your setup? You might have to start thinking about music production if it sounds this good and it's being played on KZhead.
@Scott Ster For me, I already have a dedicated amp, separate mic and Beyerdynamic headphones that are all great. However, I still picked these up for gaming and skyping when I'm in a somewhat noisy environment. For quiet times and music, I use the open Beyerdynamic's.
i purchaded the newer edition that has 50 ohms and they sound great on my older pc!
compared to a few who i have seen review 900 dollar in ear sennhizer ear buds who never even mentiond the sound once when i asked him he said sound is subjective , well peopledont bye 900 headphones because sound is subjective i know the earbuds he reviewed and know their sound quality is amazing audiophile quality , so thanks for your review how refreshing a reviewer who talks lots about his products sound quality thank you .
Great review, as always. A question. Are the PC 350 SE always from Sennheiser similar in terms of specs and performance to the GAME ZERO? I'm asking this because, desing-wise they are pretty identical.
u guys always do the best review~! THE BEST man !!!! keep it up !!
Thanks so much :D
can u help me pick a gaming headset? the Razer Kraken 7.1 or the Kingston HyperX Cloud? please~
cwh758 HyperX Cloud
cwh758 AKG Q701 / Philips Fidelio X1 + Blue Yeti Microphone
excellent vid, as allways thx Dima though the price tag seems to be a little bit on the higher side, would rather stick to a good pair of headphones + "on-desk" micro
Id like to see a review of the G4ME ONE too
I would love to hear a straight up comparison of these from you. I really can't decide which ones to get. On one hand, I prefer open cans for when I'm at home for the positional audio, but on the other, when I play on LAN, I'll want the sound cancellation from being closed. Also, which do you find more comfortable? I know the leather pads are dual layer memory foam, but I don't know about the cloth pads.
very nice review
How is the sound stage compared to the g4me one, obviously it is a bit more cramped but is it a highly noticeable difference? I prefer noise isolation over a slightly larger sound stage,
Wonder why the WD dual drive idea never took off.
Do you think you could review the Audio Technica ATH-AG1/ADG1? They are spectacular and the only quality reviewer I've seen review them is Linus, do you think you could sometime? Thanks:D
Btw, there is a newer version that's been out for a while of the ZERO that has a 50 ohm output impedance on the cable.
These look great, and I would get these for my gaming laptop and consoles. Are they worth it for that?
Very Pretty Review. Not even interested in product, but the shots were great!
Toy-ish design and color scheme - You nailed it HC!
Hey HC what song is playing? Good background choice!
did you notice that the cushion pad is uneven. It is thicker in the lower part and thinner upper. cheers
Comparison video would be appreciated. ^^
4 years later this still seems like one of the best alternatives out there for the 250$ budget. However, it does seem like everybody might prefer a good amp with amp with that and it doubles your required budget. It does feel worth it to me and I do love both the design and what it can do. Too bad the cables don't detach completely.
7 years bro, still nothing better for games lower than 200$
G4ME One comparison video please!
game one needs a dedicated sound card to get remotely decent sound. also, it barely isolates. i hear my pcs vents and anyone around me hears what i hear.
Jürg Nobs game one is only 50 ohms so not really. And it is open back. It isn't supposed to isolate noise.
and still, the sound is pretty damn bad and the bass barely existant. even Sennheiser themself say agree that it is only good with a dedicated sound card. i bought one a few weeks ago and sent that crap back
@Ivan Martinez-Kay no. 50 ohm. but still shit quality.
can you do a comparison between the zero and one i think it would be a interesting comparison
Main difference is the zero has closed earcups and the one has open earcups Sorry if i'm late
I'm actually debating this with the Astro A50/A40 and Turtle Beach XO Seven, but this might help me make the right choice.
Would you rather choose the Game One/Zero or a combination of the Beyerdynamic DT 990 pro + the mod mic v5 ?
Just became the proud owner of a pair of these earlier today. So far so very good.
+Lafeel Abriel nice, enjoy :) love the Game Zero pair. May I ask why you chose these over the open acoustic pair (Game One)?
HardwareCanucks Simple really, the game one was only available in white, while the zero was available in black. Do like the extra portability too though :D
can you make the G4me zero vs Game one please
Ss
I have just bought a pair of G4ME ZERO's, and i previously had PC 360. But while using my old PC 360 i got a lot more bass than with my new G4ME ZERO's. Is this because I don't have any DAC or amp?
This or Audio Technica ATH-AG1? Awesome review, thumbs up :D
Lower price, removeable cable and they might actually be worth a try for most gamers - this way, though, I feel they're too expensive. You can get several high quality mid- to hi-fi headphones at this range, be it your HD 558, the higher end HD 598, AKG's K612, K701, Q701 or even Beyerdynamic's DT 880 or DT 990. Admittedly you don't get a microphone with those and mostly need an amplifier as well in order to not miss out at their full potential (which even might be the case with the GAME ZERO to a certain extent, although I don't know how sensitive they are at their 150 ohm impedance), but you'll get (at least!)0 the same quality at a lower price or an easily superior product spending the same money. It just is the typical pricing for a "gaming product", which people tend to believe is worth the steep pricetag - just look at what is being asked for quite simple mice these days - or for keyboards, which, aside from the styling and some specific features like lighting, were considered standard a few decades ago ...
please do a comparison video for the game zero and the game one
Hey Dimitri! Do you think you can review MSI's new GS60 Ghost Pro?
does the headphones leak sound over to the microphone a lot? that's very important for me to know as when they leak sound like that you have calls with people where other people's voices will echo back through you and create a headache inducing situation for everyone else... *please let me know* and thank you for the review.
Hey Dimitry, do you prefere beyerdynamics (from Germany :D) with a amp or specially game headsets? for gaming and music? Greetings from Germany ;)
Dimitri, a question: these are stereo headsets, so how does it compare to the surround enabled rivals like the Astro A50 or Turtlebeach XO Sevens or equivalent? Shame that the mic isn't removable, but I think the Germans have their reasons :)
Hey hardwarecanucks, will you guys be reviewing the mionix nash 20 once it comes out?
Yes, a sample is on its way!
2:34 is that a crack in the upper left corner??
That's actually a removable piece of plastic you can use to disassemble the headphones. My SH HD650 headphones have that too. You can use that to slide out the piece of foam on top and change it.
dante4d thx
The cable on my Game Zero is removable. I must have the updated version. The sound and mic is amazing and no sound card is needed on the updated versions. The ohm on these is 50 now from what it used to be. Thank God the cost was cheaper too. These are the best gaming headsets out there in my opinion. I just chose the closed backs over the open back. Just my preference.
Scorpio Gamer I want to buy these I have Asus motherboard with supremeFX. Will it handle the headset with full power?
Merciful Hearts Of course it will. I love these cans. Just remember these are closed back cans. If you want open back get the game one. I love these headsets.
I' m seriously considering these. My previous setup was Beyerdynamic DT 990's 250 Ohm, Antlion ModMic 2.3, and an Asus Essence STX. I really couldn't ask for something better sound wise and mic wise. Everything was amazing. I just hated have a built on mic and another cable to deal with. I will be pairing the Game Zero's with the Asus Essence STX so I'm sure they will satisfy them power wise. Currently on Amazon prime for $199.
same here my current sennheisers mic is not working completly shot :( bad luck i guess but I will be getting this headset and pair it with my Asus Xonar Xense sound card. :)
Isn't there a black/red variant of the headsets? I saw them on the product page on sennheiser but can't find any retailers that have them.
The mic is removable!!
Maybe the new model. But the older model did not have removable anything
Could the cups break or deteriorate with the time in the future? I want to have my headphones for many years, so don´t know which one buy for best cuality and duration: Senheiser Game ZERO or game ONE??
Do they have their own driver for modification for customizing sound like software?
hey man, I jjust got these headphones, and guess what, I have the ASUS dx 7.1 aswell. But I just cant figure out what settings and which one I should plug my headset into. Could you maybe tell me where you plugged your cables and what options you are using? :)
Comparison video please!
Alright, so I have a quick question regarding this headset g4me-zero They are technically only a "stereo headset" but I have purchased a Sennheiser PC323D headset in the past which uses a 3D G4ME 1 Dolby 7.1 USB adapter to produce the 7.1 surround sound. This adapter is the same one that their highest end model (PC 363D headset) also uses. Same drivers, same adapter, everything. Basically both of the analog 3.5mm connectors from the headset connect into the adapter, which then connects to your computer through USB in order to produce the 7.1 sound. So my question is: If I were to buy the Sennheiser G4ME ZERO headset (stereo), and connected it into the 3D G4ME 1 Dolby 7.1 USB Adapter, would I get stellar 7.1 surround sound (as good as the PC363D, for example) or would the sound be off because the headset is not designed for 7.1? I'm not sure if the 7.1 designated Sennheiser headsets have mini speakers inside of the earcups in order to replicate the positional audio better or anything, so I was hoping someone else could answer this for me. Please help me!!!!! Thanks!
Do the built-in volume control produces crackles and block sound from coming out from left or right speaker when you spin them? I have this problem on PC360 and it's very dissapointed.
basically the PC350 Third edition
What mic did you use at the beginning of the video (not the headsets mic)?
Hello, just wondering if any of you would be able to recommend a pair of thicker earpads for these headphones, the stock ones are not thick enough and my ears touch the drivers.
I think it's good to have a loose volume controller :) It's easier and faster to put the volume down when needed :)
Dmitry, How do the Zeros compare to their predecessor, the PC 350? All that's different that I see is the click on mute/ raising the mic boom, on ear cup volume control, and odd colour scheme. Which one (if you have tried them) do you prefer more?
I remember my first PC 350 pair. It was THE headset that introduced me to Sennheiser and from what i remember, PC 350 were brighter, but the ZERO are more comfortable as the leather cushions are different. I realize now the ZERO comes in black, so that would be the ones i'd prefer.
please compare them with the audio technica ath ag1, hyper x cloud and steel sires sibiria elite.
will the MSI M5 Audio Boost 3 be sufficient for the Game zero? Now since its is 50 Ohm, razer synapse would work fine with it right?
hi! im planning to buy this headset, question, do i need to buy an amp if i already have a soundcard? i have an asus pheobus rog. do i still need an amp to run the headset for its full potential or my soundcard is enough? sorry kinda new to this stuff
How is G4ME ZERO to gamers who have a big head? What are the best AMP/sound cards for it? As now is 2018 and 4 years after this review is the G4ME Zero being updated or is it a old-tech or not so good comparing with these new ones?
sir plz do one review on onboard audio.the new trend of high grade onboard audio chip and headphone amplifiers...which is best does discrete card perform better like if someone wants to buy highend headphones like game zero from sennheiser and also hd8 dj does onboard sound like asus maximus vii formula or other manufacturer board perform best with these headphones or these type of headphone will perform better with decrete audio card like creative zx sound card or external headphone amplifier etc.is it worth it to send extra money on that? does highend onboard audio is only best for low to medium level headphones..
they changed something with the foam, there is a static noise now coming from the foam when it breathes
How are these vs the older pc350? I suspect very similar
I don't understand because I have a game zero and the mic is quieter than it is in the video, what are your settings?(I know this is the old video, I have the 150 ohm version)
Its just a 350SE in white. And the 350 SE is loads cheaper if you shop about. And looks better IMO
how does this compare to the beyerdynamic DT990 Profesional 250ohms?
To Dimitri: would you say that the onboard audio of a mobo like the maximus VI hero would suffice for this headset or even the game one? Thanks in Advance! Also, +1 for a comparison video!
it would but getting a dedicated amp+dac will increase the soundquality but it will also cost you about $250 more at that point you could also go for a maximusVI formula wich has even better adio altough not as good as external solutions
it wont you'll need an amp or sound card
Just got them and I have a question. I've been using Sennheiser's HD448 for gaming after my old headset got broken, and those have much more bass and better lows than my Game Zero. I need to mension that HD448 are known for low on bass but man, they are powerful compared to Game Zeros. Is It supposed to be like this or is It broken or smth? For me HD448 sound feel much better, and game zeros kind of "unpleasent". I use them with Sennheiser GSX1000. Sorry for My bad English. Cheers
Would you say these are better for gaming than the 363d as this is the same but comes with 7.1 surround sound and it's own sound card ? Which is better , I would really like to know ?
Me too.
Luke Nukes fahad bin shuwaysh Surround sound cannot be achieved through normal headphones, only stereo. (unless you pay 3000$ for something called the Realiser, it has motion detect and stuff) Last time I checked you have two ears, and rotating your head will also make your headphones rotate. Anything you hear beyond left and right is just your imagination. 7.1 virtual surround headphones are but a marketing gimmick, one I will not fall for again. And if you truly insist on getting the illusion of surround... there's software out there that will do the job. Your motherboard should be able to drive it. (also don't buy a dedicated sound card, buy an external DAC/AMP instead)
if i dont have a sound card or AMP with the sennheiser game zero, what frequency and bit format should i use in my realtek audio settings ? ( i have the Z170-A mobo)
wats a good external dac or amp to use for these? or should i just buy the sennheiser 363d?
7:13 ....wat
Should I get this in early 2018 if not any recommends
Can you review the Earforce z22?
do a comparison betwwen hd8 dj vs game zero if one should buy one headset for both gaming and music. hd8 dj play well in music but how it performs in gaming compared to game zero leave aside mic. inshort which is best for both music and gaming if one dont need mic
how did you set up that mic ... my mic just has ALOt of noise ... i did ALOT of reasearch nothing helps ...
This is actually gorgeous, I'm getting this. Since everyone cries about my bad headphones lol
Can someone tell me the difference between these and the pc 350 se? From what I could tell, they used steel on the ear cups instead of aluminum... And then painted them. Also these come in a black and red version now...
hello, this is relevant in 2021 or buy Sennheiser GSP 300?
I own the msi Z87-GD65 this mobo has an audio boost feature. The website says; AUDIO BOOST Reward your ears with true quality. Get ready for ear-drum shattering sound, with MSI Audio Boost! With Audio Boost we're delivering the highest audio quality so you can enjoy crystal clear sound and music in games. Because the complete audio circuitry is isolated from other features, you'll enjoy less interference and more stability. The built-in headphone amplifier allows you to use studio-grade headgear and get the most amazing sound quality out of your gaming PC. • Studio level Integrated 600Ω Headphone amplifier • Golden audio jacks for pure audio signals • EMI shielded audio codec • High quality audio capacitors Does this mean I don't have to buy an extra amp to use these headphones like they're ment to? Greatings from Holland!
Hmmm game one for good sound and open style or zero closed back? @HardwareCanucks
I'd like to mention, these things are amazing for glasses wearers. I (stupidly had bought) used to own a shitty Afterglow headset that gave me seriously bad sores from its horrible lack of glasses situated design. These (Game Zero) are phenomenal with glasses.
+Dysfunctional Fox "Glasses wearers"
Both of your names resemble your literature and attitude
Sennheiser G4ME ZERO (closed) vs Audio-Technica ATH-AD900X (open) Which one is better for gaming?
Guys, they've updated the headset so it now has a removable cable and different colors.
