I was surprised that the animal went that far after absorbing a 50 BMG.
It’s a nialgi what would you think
Bigger bullets gives the animals a adrenaline dump
It takes a moment to process the wound, and after a second of either, a pattering panicked sprint, or just the simple movement of its neck to stare out over the plain all still. That second ends and it falls to the ground.
@@ErN3S70 i guess a 308 would simply bounce off???
@@lynxybuddy no but I shot one with a 300 win mag and it ran off around 100 yards and then I had to shoot it twice it still ran off so a 308 would probably feel like a BB gun hitting a possum

Типичное поведение больного маньяка.
8:38 "Now the work starts." Presumably, he intends to eat it. Hunting has been a key element in the conservation of game. People that don't hunt think they're less responsible for slaughtering animals because the meat is already packaged up when they arrive at the grocery store. This hunter carefully selected his target, waited for an ethical shot, then hit it with enough bullet to put it down as quickly as possible. That's as clean as it gets. It's completely normal to admire nature while you're hunting. Most hunters are outdoors because they really appreciate nature.
@@reedr1659 I don't eat meat. Your summary is nice and clinical. Can you explain why the two guys were celebrating like they won the Super Bowl? Why do these hunters do an end zone dance while the animal is twitching on the ground?
😂😂😂😂that was funny
@@davidsamuels9557 Because they enjoy the thrill of the hunt? I mean how do you react when you pluck a flower and eat it?
.50 bmg is tough but i honestly think being able to take a single step after being hit by one is even tougher. what an animal.
I was suprised too
thats why people hunt with hollow points. this was not a hollow point so it just went through the animal and made a small wound channel, thats why it didnt drop faster. a hollow point will open up or fragment and make the animal bleed out a lot faster.
Should've drilled it into a hollow point.
@@pavelmorozov6599 I am sure you mean well but are not very up to date on bullets or ballistics.
Actually I'm not even sure that animal was hit with a 50 bmg, because even the energy shock of that round should have dropped it. I've scene animals killed by a 50 bmg without the round even touching them. But maybe it was a super slow and heavy round with nearly zero expansion.
That is truly amazing. At that range that antelope just absorbed 12,000 pounds of energy and still managed to run a little bit. Everything else I've seen hit with a .50BMG usually drops like the finger of God just touched it. That must be an incredibly tough animal. Great hunt!
I was going to say the same exact . I just couldn’t believe that animal was able to even move after being hit with that .
Eland bulls are even tougher!
Well...the 750 grain A max really isn't a hunting bullet and really doesn't expand much, so he just drilled a nice half inch hole through him. If a major bone had been hit there would have been more carnage, but most of the energy just passed right on through.
Proof “energy transfer” and “hydrostatic shock” are total BS.
@@John_Morrison “Through”? Didn’t look like it exited.
First time I ve ever seen any living creature move after being hit with a .50 bmg.
I second this
Was shot too far forward.... Just behind the front leg would have dropped it instantly.... With his "big man gun" wank wank.
Just watch some 50bmg hunting videos. On thorax shots even deer often run because very little energy is actually transferred into the animal
Since the bullet doesn't expand this is very common actually. The bullet just pinholes and does very little damage.
@@T-DsGaming so a hollow point 50bmg would be better?
For those wondering why the 50 didn't kill it instantly, 2 reasons, A: 50 bmg rounds are fmj's, they are designed for anti-material penertration, not causing visceral damage to flesh, 95% of it's energy probably went straight through it. And B: never underestimate how resilient animals are, I've seen kangaroos casually bounce off with their hearts having been completely removed by a .270 designed for expansion, only to then drop dead 50 metres away once they finally realise that their mid section is missing.
The amount of bullets I've had bounce off a roos head!
@@glennllewellyn7369 lol, i wouldn't doubt it, what were you shooting? .22 lr i presume, might pay to step up to a heavier bullet if you can, the added weight at a lower speed should lower the chance of deflects, and increase penetration, though you may find a smaller faster bullet to be more effective on smaller things like rabbits, where penetration isn't an issue.
3rd reason, shot placement and wrong caliber ( Especially silver tip )
@@gavinrobinson8925 22 can get anything if you have the right shot
@@TermIANator almost anything yeah, i'm not suggesting that he step up to a higher caliber, but if his ammo is skimming off of roo's heads, maybe the type of 22 ammo he's using isn't adequate.
the fact that a 50 BMG round can reach 15,000 ft lbs (20,337 Joule) of energy and that thing went that far is nothing short of incredible!
Not exactly meant for dumping all the energy since they the 50bmg isn't meant for expansion but penetration.
@@boygonewhoopdataZZ it didn't penetrate the antelope, didn't seem like it...

The funniest part of hunting is the dynamic from "look at these majestic animals! So incredible! .... anyway, send it" BAM
I have seen comments explaining why the animal didn't drop immediately after taking the hit but regardless being hit with 50bmg and still walking is an impressive situation regardless.
Nilgai are huge. Not surprised it took the .50
It was a low hit
I live in the Texas hill country and see this all the time. To act like this is hunting and to use a 50bmg is just a dick measuring competition. I’d love to shoot a nilgai but it’s not hunting just harvesting. For the meat it’s not a bad deal but still costly. All these people come here from other states thinking they are hunting but it’s just a farm with animals you can shoot. If you have money to waste more power to you. Not in this case but just some insider info, most of the animals are bought specifically for your “hunt” and are let out several weeks before for you to shoot. This is why hunting gets a bad rap. Do whatever you want but don’t do stupid stuff and put it out for the world to see.
That's what I was wondering too. As soon as I saw the wildebeest I knew something was up. Kinda lame to shoot fish in a barrel but money talks I guess

@Simbor Nabor Murderers? in almost all religious text, including the bible, the killing and eating of animals is totally ok as it has been our source of food for AGES. Hunting and killing totally ok as long as the animal is killed with a clean shot, The animal is cleaned, and eaten. It is also ok if the ecosystem of the animal and the area is in good shape. For example, shooting a rare animal is looked down upon, but shooting deer in thriving communities is totally fine as it provides balance. Energy is transfered, one ecosystem to another and balanced.

What is lacking is lighter bullets with ballistic tips or hollow points so you get some expansion. I would love to load up some 600 grain ballistic tips. It's my guess that the bullet went out the other side with virtually no expansion so didn't transfer energy the way we would like. It is surprising that one of the manufacturers didn't tool up some game bullets. Hopefully we see them sometime soon. 👍🇺🇲
@@DoraTheMFDestroya I do not disagree and it's history is well documented. I was just thinking that it does not have a full compliment of ammunition. I would absolutely admit that I would like to see what could be done with it for heavier game. A thin jacketed bullet loaded at some slower speeds would also be safer if it was more easily upset. I find the idea intriguing. 👍🇺🇲
You are absolutely right ! It loved so fast through it , with thin skin and even lighter bones , there was no expansion and probably passed right through. like a field tip arrow ! @@NoobSaibotVII trust me I know. No animal that size can take 12k pounds from a hollow point and not be decimated. I was more trying to inform the people asking questions in the comments.
For those wondering why the Nilgai didn't drop, here is my understanding of the terminal ballistics... the two common ways a gunshot kills are decreased oxygen supply to the brain or destruction of the nervous system. If you hit an animal in the upper spine or the head with an appropriate cartridge/range for the species, it will die immediately. I'm not entirely sure where the line is drawn but if you either hit with a weaker projectile (broadhead of an arrow) or you hit further back along the spine it may cause local paralysis for the animal. If you hit the animal in the lungs or the heart, the blood supply to the brain will either stop or will no longer contain oxygen, causing loss of consciousness and death (what happened here). If you miss the lungs/heart but pierce the chest cavity, tension pneumothorax will occur (Google it). The time this takes to kill an animal varies based on the species, what organ(s) were hit, and what the animals adrenaline is like at the time of impact. Bullet energy matters for when you hit the spine or the shoulder. A high energy impact to the shoulder can both cripple an animal and mortally wound it. A bullet with lower energy could potentially only cripple the animal. What matters for heart/lung shots is penetration and diameter. How much tissue does the bullet penetrate through and what is the diameter when it does. This all only describes very conventional terminal ballistics. If we look at something like 22-250 (or 5.56 for that matter), a very light bullet travelling at un-Godly speeds can fragment and yaw upon impact, causing more damage than would be expected.
انت انسان ذكي ويجب ان تكون علما
you certainly are a hero no doubt about it a regular tough guy!
Im amazed even with a 50 BMG it ran, I would have thought with that much power it would have dropped it on the spot. That is a big strong animal for sure!
It's about how much energy you can dump in the animal and where. And as that shot was both suboptimal but importantly used a target-bullet instead of a hunting-bullet, this animal suffered needlessly, as that bullet passed through without opening up much. Would have been a lot cleaner kill with a 300WM or 8x68s loaded with a proper Barnes TTSX, Nosler Partition or Swift A-frame bullet. Shooting at animals with the wrong bullets is just unsportsmanlike conduct.
Antongudenus I have never hunted before but I do have a basic understanding of firearms... I thought the same thing when I saw this. Could have easily taken it out much more humanely with a different round.
@@AntonGudenus I didn't see the exit hole, did it penetrate all the way through ?
@@michaelmyers8664 That bullet has about 18-20k J behind it. Which is about 4x as much as a 300WM. And is aimed at an animal about the size of a European red stag. Even with a very very soft bullet, that should lead to a sizable exit would. The only way for it to not leave an instantly visible exit wound, would be due to it not expanding and going clean through at caliber size.

It's amazing like the antelope, I can resist, but most of all, he had about 0.57 seconds almost a second to dodge the bullet that reached 1,624 m to react but he stayed there, still, as if for some reason he wanted to die. . .. .. INCREDIBLE VIDEO, I give you a like. :)
This was like National Geographic with guns.
I guess I don't get it. Is the goal to see how big of a gun you can't hunt with? An unsuspecting critter at moderate range...what happened here that wouldn't have happened with an 8 pound .30/'06, other than lighting a $10 bill on fire when you pulled the trigger?
I'm thinking the same thing... Civilians SMFH
More like $100.00
Because he can. If you didn't like the video go watch something else snowflake.
He used a Hornady match bullet which is absolutely not designed for hunting and cost about $8 each. It likely went right through the animal. I think it's fucked up how they're praising the beauty of the animal after just experimenting with a BS setup that caused the animal a fuk ton of pain for a good minute or more before succumbing to that shot. A regular gun with good hunting ammo would have ethically dropped the animal on the spot without torturing it...
nilgai, (Boselaphus tragocamelus), also called bluebuck, the largest Asian antelope (family Bovidae). The nilgai is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent, and Hindus accord it the same sacred status as cattle (both belong to the subfamily Bovinae).
that 50 cal is like an anti tank rifle !!!! wow
Thank you for taking so many of us hunting Keith! Why didn’t we shoot the monster at 1:30?
