I used to hunt and fish. But after a years break... trying to return to doing so makes me feel so bad for having to kill such majestic beasts. Or have to pull a swallowed hook out of a mackerels mouth... I cant imagine that pain. Yes it feeds my family. But it just does not sit right with me. Yes I do eat meat, and it tastes damn good. But seeing the pain an suffering before it goes on my dinner plate is just depressing.

@@nunyabizzness8 Almost anyone can make a rifle with CNC machining and a lathe, and access to youtube. Most people don't need to hunt to survive either, except people in backcountry alaska and around wyoming, colorado, or montana. We hunt for the challenge of getting close enough to a animal to humanely dispatch it, or stay far away after training to shoot from extreme ranges. The meat and "trophy" parts are a welcomed add-on that is put to good use, be it a christmas dinner, antlers mounted on the wall, or the leftover meat being turned into dog food. Humans have hunted since we figured out how to sharpen sticks, we just figured out how to make the sticks faster and more accurate.

What do you guys think about the Digital camo is it worth the money?
@ohiowhitetailhunter8606 Жыл бұрын
Which digital camo are you referring to?
@MuleyFreak Жыл бұрын
Probably not, unless you think it looks cool. In which case it will do just as well as most camo. The main selling point of "digital camo" is that it tends to somewhat mess with modern electronic optical equipment like nightvision or cameras with IFF system. But against game, you can go with just about any camouflage that diffuses your silhouette reasonably well. When looking for a good hunting camouflage remember that human and animal eyes (usually) see differently, camo that wouldn't work well against humans may be more than sufficient against deer.

When I was a boy the first animal I killed was a Magpie. Tough bird and didn't go down easy. It was then and there I realized I was not the type of person to get any enjoyment out of killing. The next day in hunting camp I had a bead on a huge buck deer at 200 yards and was a dead-on shot. Lowered the butt of the rifle 1/8" and missed on purpose. The Magpie didn't die without a purpose. He saved the deer and probably many others. Hunting for food? Go for it. Killing for pleasure, different strokes for different folks. Just not in me.

Its a good thing you found out early. If you found out after you had put down that deer, different things could have happened. A. You could have fallen into a depression. B. You could live with that moment the rest of your life. C. You could've moved on, kept hunting, and learn to deal with the emotions. These are just possibilities, not certainties. I am no therapist, but if you think you did the right thing, then that was probably the best course of action.

@Revheadrev Жыл бұрын
Mountain lions are native in parts we hunt out in the west. There are estimates on mountain lion populations but it's hard to say how many there really is. But in the end everything is controlled by the state for how many tags are available and hunting mountain lions isn't easy. You can go out and try to find them by glassing but that's pretty hard or you can use trained dogs to track them. Houndsmen spend so much time training these hounds to track cats, it's pretty amazing. Overall mountain lion populations are doing great but hunting them does help the deer and elk survival rate.

@@danielzunigagutierrez6300 not apparent to those who doesn't know the reason for hunting. Hunting helps control the animal population. Responsible hunting is a form a humane wildlife conservation.

@@cryptdvr5127 you have no respect for it if that doesn't bother you
@@nunyabizzness8 Almost anyone can make a rifle with CNC machining and a lathe, and access to youtube.
I love watching these satisfying videos. But seeing animals struggling to run after getting hit has a place in my heart
Unfortunately that's just part of taking game. With a well placed shot, at least they don't suffer long.
it's not a clean kill 😢
It's always good to remain compassionate. That's a very good sign. I always remember how cruel the end is for nearly all animals in nature. Far worse to be eaten alive then a 30 or 60 second death by rifle.
2:35 HOLY! 750 yards?! perfect shot!
What do you guys think about the Digital camo is it worth the money?
Which digital camo are you referring to?
Probably not, unless you think it looks cool. In which case it will do just as well as most camo. The main selling point of "digital camo" is that it tends to somewhat mess with modern electronic optical equipment like nightvision or cameras with IFF system. But against game, you can go with just about any camouflage that diffuses your silhouette reasonably well. When looking for a good hunting camouflage remember that human and animal eyes (usually) see differently, camo that wouldn't work well against humans may be more than sufficient against deer.
Incredible shooting as always!! Strong work!

Healthy way to look at it, i like it
Its a good thing you found out early.

You don't know jack shit about hunting. Stay in your lane.
I’ve been hunting in Australia for around 35 years - and while we have lots of things that would like to kill us, we don’t have mountain lions. I hunt feral and introduced pests - but I’m not sure I understand shooting a mountain lion? Can you educate me? Are they are pest or introduced etc? Thanks fellas.
@@MuleyFreak thanks so much for getting back to me mate - that's greatly appreciated. God bless bro
Just thinks his balls got bigger is all.
There was no apparent reason to shoot that mountain lion.
@@danielzunigagutierrez6300 not apparent to those who doesn't know the reason for hunting. Hunting helps control the animal population. If everyone stopped hunting then more animals would come into populated areas looking for food, they'd slowly starve from the big animal population eating too much of their natural food supply, and there would be an increase of diseased animals. Responsible hunting is a form a humane wildlife conservation.
Where did the second one hit
I personally don't enjoy the laughter after ending a life, though I also understand the complexity of some of these hunts, and the buildup and the release of endorphins that no doubt occurs. I want to hunt, but I want to be respectful of the animal as well.

I wouldn’t count shooting a cat cornered up a tree by dogs as hunting!
The dogs and houndsmen probably think otherwise, but everyone can have their own opinion.
You obviously don't know the amount of work that goes into it.
What are the dogs doing?
A cat jumping on a deer it trapped in a canyon isn’t hunting either I guess
I wouldn’t either just like I don’t like using dogs for bear but cats are ambush hunters and I can’t imagine a safe way to hunt a mountain lion with a bow without one and I don’t shoot anything I can’t eat so I wouldn’t hunt it in the first place unless it killed someone or was killing cattle that’s also why I don’t like African hunting cause it’s just pure sport hunting

I don't understand why people kill mountain lions.
I agree with most of the animals being hunted but not so much to the mountain lion sadly
The thing about hunting, it helps to control the animal population, if mountain lions aren't hunted then they become over populated in many areas causing them to come into town, not to mention they can start decimating they're prey population causing them to starve, on top of that they can start contracting diseases. Basically not controlling animal populations can be devastating to an ecosystem.

Too many mountain lions means less food to hunt for
So the herbivores that avoid conflict deserved that shit, but that mountain LION!!! That would surely attack you no hesitation being killed was wrong. I just started shooting nd am thinking about going hunting by the way.
