I don't find this very surprising. Of course a supercar is going to be light compared to a 30k Subaru. The only thing heavier is the larger engine, and larger wheels/tires. Edit: and actually the McLaren weighs 200-300lbs more lol. It's only 150lbs lighter than my 2011 Subaru WRX hatchback. So in comparison it's honestly not very light tbh. It's obviously light for the power and technology equipped with the car but it's clearly heavier than a BRZ, and a 30k USD Subaru isn't a very high bar to cross lol.
@@username8644 The 750S Spider weighs 3170 pounds, the coupe weighs 3062 pounds. A car weighing inside of a range between a BRZ and a WRX hatchback while having 2-3x the power is impressive, a lot of powerful cars usually push the 4000-5000 pound range nowadays
@@Justin_GFM It's still a 2 seater convertible supercar. No way it weighs 4000lbs lol, that's modern heavy ass bmw m3 weight. I don't find it surprising at all that it weighs 3100lbs.
@@username8644we got a keyboard cruncher over here. Your $30k car is light because it’s cheap af and low power. It’s just a small car. The mclaren isn’t small it’s carbon fiber. The larger base helps it handle even better than it already does with the suspension and it’s way faster. It’s not a direct car comparison it’s just a fact that it weighs around what a brz does.

This is pretty much the prototypical McLaren sound including the turbo wooshs. You’d be pretty hard pressed to tell any of them apart other than the P1 in the sound effects department.

Despite a lot of people complaining about the failure rate of McLaren parts, you can’t argue that the engineering is a true marvel. Chassis design, suspension geometry, aerodynamic simulations. It all plays a major role in what makes this an amazing driving machine.
I tend to find "supercars" to be obnoxious - all flash and no substance. But, this is a work of art.
