@@SamFBM 99% of new car buyers are buying for how cool they look, their interior, and the brand name. People hated the C6 because of its cheap interior despite (still) being an amazing car for the price. It's dumb but they've gotta do it

@@CMAC.1483 No... not at all. Anyone who's been in a c8 can tell you, it is built very well. It feels as solid as a modern mercedes, and the fit and finish is as good as it gets.

Awesome review. I have seen at least 100 reviews for c8 stingray and z06 and nothing close to this review. No one drove this car as regular driver but this guy did it to show how smooth auto up/down shift works. Amazing review.
Im blown away by this car, its so beautiful with its figter jet looks that really appeals to my personal taste, interior looks so nice, like e cockpit, the sound, the performance, the engineering. Oh how i wish a was born under a lucky star to afford such a beautiful vehicle. Im not an american, but this car awakens something in me that i believe every true american feels 😊❤

As someone who works around and talks about these for a living, the E-Ray is the most exciting Corvette model to date. EAWD means no regular AWD powertrain loss, immediate torque from the electric motor when you're on throttle if the 6.2 has to downshift or whatever. Can't wait for the customers to start getting these! Z06 is hot, but this is my favorite. So much engineering and thought went into the powertrain.

It's too bad Acura doesn't make the NSX anymore. It would have been the most obvious competitor to compare the E Ray to. Especially the Type S version.

You can see the engine on the convertible now too as there is a factory clear cover as an option this year, also the Stingray emblem on the trunk is different to the standard one on the C8.
what I love about the Corvette engine sound is how different it sounds compared to pretty much every other Supercar even compared to other american muscle cars it sounds different, which I appreciate

It won’t much much more difficult to fix than the regular corvette. The battery and motor are pretty easy to access as they don’t require the car to be lifted. Not to mention GM has over a decade of electric powertrain experience in their portfolio.
@@beanapprentice1687 I'd like to say that is reassuring, but it is not. This is GM we're talking about here. These cars will be super expensive to fix. But hey, it's NOT a blue collar car anymore so it doesn't really matter.

I love the sound of this thing ., wow v8 and that whine is fantastic.. Zo6 sounds like a bee hive lol.. damn this car sounds great 👍
The way this thing behaves combined with the hybrid aspect makes it seem like a PERFECT SUPER FUN SPORTS CAR DAILY DRIVER... this thing will get you to and from the grocery store, but it will also get you to anywhere else with a TON of power, fun, handling/grip, no inconvenience of having to charge like an EV, and with hella head-turning style... plus that v8 sound... phenomenal... I still don't know whether I would go for the ordinary petrol one or the hybrid but honestly having driven full EVs like teslas and VW ID4, I have come to enjoy the EV aspect, and in this case it's perfect because you have the best of both worlds... no range problems, no lacking on either end (both EV and v8), plus you have those beastly electric motors in the front adding to anything you do in the back which are probably also electronically controlled along with the back axel to improve handling and traction to lay that power down perfectly... another thing I appreciate about any corvete is that chevrolet is super experienced in making them... they've had AGES to perfect the design, chasis, and everything else about it, plus they've been making family sedan hybrids for AGES and have pretty much perfected both departments and technologies, it's definitely a sure bet... plus it's a mass production car so it's not too expensive but gives you the performance and luxury of a much more expensive european car and these new vetes are super sexy... so overall, relative to the entirety of the auto world, I'd give this package a solid 7/10... where the rest is restrained to hypercars... as for supercars I think this vete is one of them hands down... I'd rather buy this car than a lambo quite frankly... the only other classic supercar I'd entertain is probably the Porsche 911 GT3 (and possibly the good ol Nissan GTR)... those are my current humble dream cars because I like to drive in normal street settings a lot, I'm responsible and ex-professional driver, so I don't want something I can't for example tour up and down the east-coast around subtle freeway potholes, I want my creature comforts, I want my style, I want my reliability, I want my servicability, I want a non-overpriced price tag, I want something unique but not screaming "I'm a rich snob, look at me everyone, I bought this crazy car and I don't even know how to drive it faster than 30mph while burning the clutch"... I prefer manual transmission but with a car this perfected through so many generations, I think the auto is the way to go... it's enough to say "manual in this power train is a bit of a dumb idea... keep the manuals where they belong, in down-to-earth cars... because this thing is a rocket ship past Mars". If I were to buy say an Audi A4 for a family daily driver, I'd get a manual if it's offered, but I don't want to deal with laying down this much power in this power train with a manual clutch and gearbox... it's not only a pain because you're constantly making sure you don't abuse it by getting lazy, but you're dealing with stop-go traffic in a car way overpowered for a manual gearbox... so a robot with paddle-shifters is where it's at for sure (or my other favorite, the gear-knob up/down shifter that feels more like a manual by habit... in this sense I'm not a huge fan of paddle-shifting, I'd rather just sports-mode it, but my whole thing with paddle/knob-shifting is solely for doing highway or acceleration pulls where you want to feel that moment you want to shift or downshift, rev up, and apply that boost gradually to go fast)... anyways, this car is a solid 7/10 for me and a 10/10 will buy it soon. Plus I am not into American muscle, I love the corvete though... it's the only American car I am truly interested in because I'm not the hellcat or whatever other car guy... I want my performance without horrible handling gimics... I want more than to drive in a straight line as fast as possible, granted I am Russian and we lean more european (handling/rally) and asian (drifting/JDM) than we do anything muscle car... anyways, going to go work on my grind so I can afford this car lol... so clooose. Lastly, the one thing I also truly appreciate about these corvetes is that they are NICELY DONE... it's not cheap crap... it's not overpriced... it's legit the perfect down to earth super car. It's truly a bang-for-the-buck type of intelligent driving-guy (moreso than car guy) ride... it's pretty much perfect. I also love the fact it feels like you're in a race car cockpit while you have all the modern luxuries and crazy power... it's just awesome, I want it, as you can tell if you got this far...

I pilot a 2014 Z51 and it has been such a great car but this new ERay is just insane. Maybe one day I can get one if I am fortunate enough.

I cannot afford a Corvette ERay however, they said the Camaro on the announcement of the end of the current generation that the Camaro is not dead. So when they come out with a 7th Gen coupe and and put that Electric motor with the same sound on the rear axle and V8 in the front and make like 50 grand cheaper take my money. That Electric motor does sound like a super charger and I like it with the V8 sound.

Im basic sold on the eray from this video alone. Every sports car should have this type of hybrid system. One gripe given me stealth mode on a isolated switch and I’m content
The Charge Plus mode seems to be a glorified regenerative breaking. So you'd rather use it going downhill than uphill. And like you said, it must be pretty neat if you want to start up your car in stealth mode the next day. But for track purpose, I don't know if it would be really useful. Sure, you'd charge up the battery for the next acceleration, but that drag that you feel must be pretty detrimental to your laptime.

I know nothing about this class of cars but what I do like is it is made by GM and you would not be ripped off paying for European prices for a European car in this bracket, fit and finish looks perfect.
