Need help buying your next car? Click bit.ly/Help-Me-carwow and my team and I will help you choose your ideal car at a fair price - from Mat Watson!
.............................................................
It’s time for another first for Mat and the carwow team - We’ve got our hands on a Corvette! But it’s not just any Corvette… It’s the all-new Corvette C8, and it’s the first mid-engine Corvette since the original model was released back in 1953!
It was first revealed back in Summer 2019, and when you look at the specs, it’s no surprise we’ve been dying to get our hands on one! With a 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8, the Corvette will be able to put down 496hp and 637Nm!
Sounds pretty good, right? But that’s not all… It’ll only cost $62,000 - less than an AMG A45 S!! So what do you think - is this all-new sports car worth the ‘cheap’ price? Keep watching to find out!
Thanks to Clive Sutton for lending us the Corvette for this review - www.clivesutton.co.uk/

  • Lots of misconceptions and misinformation going on here. Here's the facts: 1. The car tested had less than 500 miles 2. C8s under 500 miles are still in the "break-in" period 3. While in "break-in," torque is electronically reduced by up to 30 percent in 1st and 2nd gear. Launch control does not override this. 4. The break-in period is not the same as limp mode. 5. Also while in "break-in," the visual redline of the tach is reduced. However, there is no reduced hard rev limiter, you can rev all the way to 6600rpms Due mostly to #3 above, it is pointless to record 0-60 times before 500 miles. You are not getting full torque in 1st and 2nd gear. Keep calm and carry on.

  • This car is everything I would ever want in a car like this. The power, the price, the engine placement, the storage space. It just gets better as the review goes on. The only problem with it (apart from it only being trully cheap in America :(((( ) is that it feels like its an imitation of a mid-engined sportscar... I dont know why exactly, something about the exterior makes me think "Wow, it looks like a briliant concept / stage car, I wish they really made them" ... but then, it actually IS the production car. Its the weirdest thing, but I cant shake that feeling when seeing it.
