It's a fairytale trope and Star Wars is just a retelling of a classic fairytale in space so it makes sense.

Honestly, with all the characters that wore masks and took them off to reveal their faces were perfectly fine, I can easily guess what Japan’s biggest takeaway from the sequels were.
Just finished Visions. Out of all of them, the Ninth Jedi and Lop & Ocho should become full series. And my favorite of the nine episodes was definitely the Elder.
This is the most anime Star Wars has ever been since Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars.

But it’s been so long. So them choosing to say that and doing the clone wars series that was done before the canon one and the fact that they also did trailers for the prequels too. I don’t think that’s the reason why
Each one of these episodes was so different and creative in its own way. Even though I preferred some moreso than others, you have to appreciate the amount of work that went into crafting these stories. Bravo to Disney for greenlighting this project.
Honestly, it feels like a stealth focus group for a collection of New Expended Universe tv pitches. If the episodes that got the most online buzz end up being turned into full-fledged shows...well, maybe this approach would be better than most of the ones they've been taking so far.

Im absolutely certain the studios made those two specifially to feel like pilot episodes so the fans would annoy Disney into giving them profitable series deals. And Im not even mad, both were great.

Im 100% sure at least a couple of these were made to be a pilot episode in the hope the fans would annoy Disney into giving the studio a series deal. The ninth jedi and the bunny one for example.
The duo from The Elder could _easily_ be a proxy for the Jinn-Kenobi series we can only wish to happen, imo.

Neat thing I noticed, the first episode was much more Akira Kurosawa in terms of style very much Seven Samurai/Yojimbo, but the plot of the last episode was much more reminiscent of Hidden Fortress the Kurosawa film that directly inspired SW to begin with, so it comes even more full circle, with the series beginning with Kurosawa and ending with him
“Space Dandy and Kobayashi-san's Maid Dragon will never be mentioned on this channel.” “Unfortunately for you, history will not see it that way.” And secondly, nobody tell them that the Studio behind T0-B1 is also behind Devilman Crybaby...
Apparently they couldn't even figure out the obvious Astro Boy/Mega Man reference. T0-B1's dad is literally Jedi Master Dr. Light/Dr. Ochanomizu/Elefun/O'Shay. I didn't even know Prof. Tenma had a son named Tobio that made the connection all the more obvious.

Even every Time the franchise does it again it feels less like a resourt and More like a call back to the "these ain't the droids youre looking for" scene. I'm sure the wanderer was in the town to collect that Sith's kyber crystal. He was going to fight, at some point. The droid didn't have anything to do with him joining the fight.
My head canon is that he's the right hand of a Sith Lord who is big on maintaining order and needed a warrior to hunt down all of the Sith psychos that would disrupt his worlds and his peasants from their work.

The Duel actually got a - naturally much longer - novelization, in case anyone wants to read up on backstory, motivations, and what happens next. Can't say I'm tempted to do so after having read the Wookieepedia entries, but just FYI, it exists. Anyway, whatever made him get up doesn't change that he let her slaughter the village's guards. And he left a Sith kyber crystal with common folk, which is just asking for the Dark Side to come for them - be that through a Sith sensing it or the crystal itself corrupting a villager, presumably the young chief. Which are the two points that drop it from top tier down to mid tier among the anthology for me...

Especially since the daughter was the one who freed her in the first place. And knowing this story came from Japan, where xenophobia has long been considered an important part of their culture? It all really hit hard.

While I understand that this is meant to be humorous, I am baffled that so few people watch Visions completely miss the fact that “The Twins” is an heightened exploration of what would have happened had Luke and Leia not been secreted away, and instead raised within the Empire, including versions of R2 and 3P0.

Dark Empire also, arguably, did the whole Palpatine clone plot better since said clone bodies started out younger/healthier before his labs were sabotaged by Luke and others...
I haven't heard that theory, but it sounds cool (not that these necessarily have to be fitted into Canon).

It's actually Astroboy, which Megaman was also inspired by. The name T0-B1 is a reference to Tobio, the deceased son of Doctor Tenma who he designed Astroboy to replace.
I had guessed that, but having never watched Astroboy I didn’t get the reference. But I figured more people on YT would know Megaman than Astroboy.

I loved the 4th one (village bride) the best Action was minimal but impactful, and the music slapped.
I saw “The Twins” episode first, and it was then I knew I was right in guessing that the whole anthology would be 🔥🔥🔥 I gotta say, the “teaming up with an anti-masker” line was too hilarious!
You missed how nearly every episode included the phrase "punch it!" I found that one a really funny fixation by several of the episodes.
Gotta love Mark Hamill's wink at the end there.
