  • Just finished Visions. Out of all of them, the Ninth Jedi and Lop & Ocho should become full series. And my favorite of the nine episodes was definitely the Elder.

    • @@mikehunt69981 they did honest trailer for the 2d clone wars short series and at the very beginning they said “look we will do the clone wars eventually it just ended” so they do plan to do it. But it’s been so long. So them choosing to say that and doing the clone wars series that was done before the canon one and the fact that they also did trailers for the prequels too. I don’t think that’s the reason why

  • Each one of these episodes was so different and creative in its own way. Even though I preferred some moreso than others, you have to appreciate the amount of work that went into crafting these stories. Bravo to Disney for greenlighting this project.

    • Honestly, it feels like a stealth focus group for a collection of New Expended Universe tv pitches. If the episodes that got the most online buzz end up being turned into full-fledged shows...well, maybe this approach would be better than most of the ones they've been taking so far.

  • Neat thing I noticed, the first episode was much more Akira Kurosawa in terms of style very much Seven Samurai/Yojimbo, but the plot of the last episode was much more reminiscent of Hidden Fortress the Kurosawa film that directly inspired SW to begin with, so it comes even more full circle, with the series beginning with Kurosawa and ending with him

    • Apparently they couldn't even figure out the obvious Astro Boy/Mega Man reference. T0-B1's dad is literally Jedi Master Dr. Light/Dr. Ochanomizu/Elefun/O'Shay. I didn't even know Prof. Tenma had a son named Tobio that made the connection all the more obvious.

    • I know one theory I've seen is that the twins are clones of Luke Skywalker... which makes a lot of sense. At least that means the Skywalker bloodline isn't dead for no reason.

Even every Time the franchise does it again it feels less like a resourt and More like a call back to the "these ain't the droids youre looking for" scene. And just like many call backs some of them are clever like what they did with cad bane, and others for laughts when ahsoka mispelled the order.

    • The Duel actually got a - naturally much longer - novelization, in case anyone wants to read up on backstory, motivations, and what happens next. Can't say I'm tempted to do so after having read the Wookieepedia entries, but just FYI, it exists. Anyway, whatever made him get up doesn't change that he let her slaughter the village's guards. And he left a Sith kyber crystal with common folk, which is just asking for the Dark Side to come for them - be that through a Sith sensing it or the crystal itself corrupting a villager, presumably the young chief. Which are the two points that drop it from top tier down to mid tier among the anthology for me...

  • While I understand that this is meant to be humorous, I am baffled that so few people watch Visions completely miss the fact that “The Twins” is an heightened exploration of what would have happened had Luke and Leia not been secreted away, and instead raised within the Empire, including versions of R2 and 3P0.

Dark Empire also, arguably, did the whole Palpatine clone plot better since said clone bodies started out younger/healthier before his labs were sabotaged by Luke and others...
