This is only 15 minutes less than the runtime of A New Hope. You wonder what Lucas and moviegoers of 1977 would say if you told them that 45 years later the film had become such a cultural touchstone that people created 1 hour and 45 minutes of parody trailers.
Moviegoers of 1977 would wonder what the hell you were talking about when you said "A New Hope". The movie didn't include that phrase until it was re-released when Empire came out.
He would say, "I had nothing to do with Howard the Duck."

Star Wars' tragically dysfunctional family in order of appearance: Darth Vader: A mass murderer, kills his mentor, tortures his daughter, tries to kill his son while his son tries to kill him, is killed by his other mentor Leia: Tries to kill her father, her son tries to kill her Luke Skywalker: Has romantic attraction to his sister, tries to kill his father Han Solo: Murders his partner in cold blood, and Greedo in cold blood, is killed by his son Kylo Ren: A murderer, Kills his father, tries to kill mother, tries to kill his uncle. This family is shakespearian in its depravity.

Han had to kill his partner Beckett because he knew that was about to be shot and he had to kill Greedo because he'd been a smuggler long enough to know what bounty hunters are like. Even calls them twirps to Jabba the Hutt before stepping on his tail. Don't forget Princess Leia kills him with her chain in slave outfit. No one knows if Salacious B. Crumb survives the Sarlac skiffer cruise ship but he is a tough one to kill
To be fair, in case of Luke: He tried to murder his Father before knowing that he was his father, and after that, he tried to kill him, because Father threatened to do bad things with his sister IN CASE OF KYLO, THOUGH (his Nephew), HE HAS NO EXCUSES
Still better than the trumps or Kardashians.

Somebody tell me that the Obi-wan Vader fight in A New Hope doesn't just look like a younger brother trying to poke his older brother with a stick and the older brother swiping it away while being mildly annoyed by it. "stooooooopppp! "lol
I was outside of a bar once and these two old hobos got into a fight and were trying to hit each other with their canes. It reminded me of that scene.

5:13 Fun Fact, in the original trailer for Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader actually said "No, Obi-wan killed your father." they decided to put this line in the trailer in order to avoid leaks.

Did you know...? Originally, Endor was meant to be the Wookie home world. A moon full of Chewbaccas, where Han's co-pilot could return to his people and we'd learn more about his race. But the bill for kitting out all these very tall actors in wookie costumes landed, and it was decided, to be practical and save some money, that what they needed were some "economy wookies". Spotted it yet? "Ewok" = "Economy wookie". Yes, that's where the name came from. An inside joke that got leaked later on.

Agreed. It was a great celebratory "we killed them all" song. You don't get those every day outside of a musical based on the Old Testament.

I love that bit around 8:16 "The Force may be around until 2001." I'm laughing so hard from the sheer HINDSIGHT going on right now. HI 2001, it's me, 2023, here to tell you that Star Wars is an unending zombie. Also, wow, that Episode 1 part seemed to resonate with the stuff with Star Wars the Old Republic (yes, the MMO that could've been KotOR3 if it wanted).
"Haden Christiansons acting choice was intentional?".......I almost woke up my son laughing so hard.
Two thoughts about Anekin and the acting: 1. It sucks 2. It's entirely accurate to how a stupid, young, power mad man would behave and act.
Most threatening villain in Star Wars was Disney. Rogue One wasn't that bad, though.
Revenge of the Sith will ALWAYS be one of my favorite Star Wars movie. I LOVED it. And Matthew Stover's novel is absolutely fantastic. I saw more times than I could count on two hands in the cinema.
The novelization really is dope. It actually expands on things that might have been good to know in the movie itself, lol. And it actually makes Anakin Skywalker seem like a legit badass (no hate intended to Hayden, it's totally not his fault, at least not entirely).

This Star Wars trailer compilation had been sitting in my watchlist for two weeks. I finally had a couple of hours to kill so I hit play. All I've got to say is that this was awesome! Thanks, Screen Junkies.

It was actually Harrison Ford's request. His son's name in real life is Ben.

Not gonna lie but I love the prequels. It was just such an interesting time period. The politics may have been boring but it just showed what type of world the characters lived in. Before the dark times
re - 4:12 This is freakin' BRILLIANT!!!! There's a Simpsons episode where a girl and her family who are all smarter than Lisa, play a game together where they take a famous actor and rearrange the letters of their name to describe the actor. The father suggests Alec Guiness to his daughter who thinks for a second, before replying with "Genuine Class." It's freakin' AWESOME that these guys would remember that throwaway joke from the Simpsons and give it a home here!! Ps: If you're wondering, for Lisa's turn, the other girl suggested Jeremy Irons, to which Lisa responded by saying "Jeremy's Iron."

28:30 The Order 66 scene might have been silly when the movie came out, but after the Clone Wars show and other media adding context, it became one of the most impactful scene in the whole franchise.

Wow! I saw the original Star Wars movies in the theater when they came out. Seen 1,2,3 and 7,8,9, seen the clone wars, seen all the Star Treks and TNG, all the Stargates series, The Orville, The Expanse and ever other sci fi series that ever existed and I never ever knew that the Star Wars Holiday special existed. I guess I was blessed. I looked that up. What a POS. I can see why it got buried.

This was a walk through memory lane with Screen Junkies.
Holy crap, I knew there were a bunch of Star Wars movies and serieseses, but this is insane! Also, look up Auralnauts and check out their Star Wars remakes. Voice-overs that take you through the same movies and spin-offs, but telling a completely different story. They're epic.
Same, got surprised when I saw the run time, did not think it would be more than 30 minutes, let alone an hour.
Where the Jedi are drugged up party addicts and the Sith run a soulless entertainment business :D

Okay now you have to do the greatest tribute film to this epic saga ever made...Spaceballs. In an oscar worthy performance William Pulman and co stars Richard Moranis and Johnathan Candy bring a fresh new chapter to this once great film series in this mind blowing action packed cinamatic masterpiece.
Spaceballs is actually funnier than I remember each time I see it.
It's an amusing comment, but Candy's name was just John. Not Johnathan. John is occasionally short for Johnathan or Jonathan, but not always or even most of the time, just occasionally. Okay, now that I've ruined the joke, back to your regularly scheduled commentary.

I was the target audience for the ewok era. Wicket will always be one of my favorite star wars characters.
47:40: This definitely did _not_ kill the original clash between Vader & Kenobi... don't forget that Vader (quote): "was waiting for you (Obi-Wan)", so it makes perfect sense that he took his sweet time to savor the moment.
