Book of boba fett is like that crush you've had for years until you actually get into a relationship and realize its not like you imagined. Then you realize that your other best friend, the mandalorian. Who was there for you at the worst times (rise of skywalker) was actually your one true love all a long

I think that a bounty hunter is not a good choice for a protagonists for a kids shows or well a show for every age. I think that Boba fett and the others bounty hunters and crime lords would be better for a R or maybe PG 13 rating but well is Disney so everybody have to be a good guy and a good role model.

This show highlights one of the most frustrating aspects of Star Wars being owned by Disney- they can't make up their minds about how violent a show can be.
Mando in the Book of Boba was pretty violent, which make it even more bizarre that Boba is less.
This show is to Starwars what Hawkeye was to Marvel. A potentially compelling story that becomes unwatchable when the show has to be stuffed with too many ingredients that scream "Disney!". Both shows make me worry for every streaming show going forward on this platform.

@@acgonzales7 Yeah it js puzzling how the writers don't seem to understand we just want to learn more about the characters the shows/movies are named after. Not the 50 extra side characters that appear out of thing air and just exist to fill up the runtime. I was really hoping this would actually be a bounty hunter show where he hunts bouties but silly me thinking Disney would do something so simple.
This show feels like when you've already beaten the main story and doing all of the side quests

The issue is they already turned mando into everything fett was supposed to be. And for some reason they thought they had to do something different. It would've been wayyyy cooler if he was unhinged and trying to punish every sleight with death and it was fennec who had to reign him in "if you're a killing maniac they'll fear you but they won't respect you" and his story is coming to terms with his old way not working for him any longer. Instead of "oh he completely changed from the sarlacc" except none of his aspirations denote that
Except Mando has a moral code whereas boba has always been in it for the money , they definitely could've still made a good story without changing his character

Show genuinely felt like Animal Crossing half the time. Making friends, catching animals, meetings with the mayor, walking around and talking to townsfolk. Yup, checks out.
Except one is good and one is bad
What kept distracting me during the Boba Fett series was the Tuskens use a lot of wood. Like so much wood. Their weapons, their tent frames, their fires, the things they stake prisoners to? All wooden. But there isn't a freakin tree (outside of a dream sequence) on the planet. We've seen like 50 movies and TV shots of Tattooine and not a tree to be found, but the sand people literally burn through wood like it wronged them somehow.

They are exceedingly rich and import it from other planets far away by the rocket-load. The same is true of the steam-punk masks and pre-distressed high couture sack-cloth.
Well, maybe the wood comes from plants that are below the surface and use water that us below the ground.

Poor Boba Fett. Nobody seems to know how to use him in a story, even when he's the main character.
He had a fine introduction and role in Empire Strikes Back, but I like his major role more in The Book of Boba Fett.
He was great in The Mandalorian, not sure what happened to him between that show and his own, his whole personality seemed to change

That clip from "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" and "Twiiiiiins" had me in literal tears. This one was hilarious!
A wise person once said, "Do, or do not. There is no try." Jon Favreau should have taken heed of that bit of advice. If you are gong to make a TV show about Boba Fett becoming a crime boss, then do that. Don't spend four episodes skirting around that idea, with lots of thematically repetitive flashbacks, then give up half way through by shifting the focus on to another character/set of characters. Jon Favreau owes Temuera Morrison a massive apology.

The problem is, they already made a great Boba Fett show that was called The Mandalorian.
This is how you pass the torch, make the original look so bad everyone forgets about him. That's what the sequel trilogy was too, those original heroes? They all suck, look here's your new younger, more diverse, better ones.

@@khsuki1 Don't forget, in a way George Lucas actually made Boba Fett himself retroactively more diverse! Not sure why the umbrage over diversity. The primary gang in the original trilogy included a younger white male, older white male, a woman, a black male, two robots, and a Wookie. The sequel group was smaller, but it included a woman, a black male, a light-skinned male actor whose diversity status doesn't matter because it's Oscar Isaac, the very same Wookie, and a robot. Not really much of a difference, right?

The main problem was that the show was basically How Boba Lives In Retirement. It’s like if Lord of the Rings had all been how Frodo deals with obnoxious neighbors in the Shire.

This video was significantly more entertaining than the entire show.
I could’ve forgiven everything about this show if at the end Fett is in a position where the mayor or someone isn’t cooperating and he says “Screw it” and shoots him in the head or something. Heck, when Shand killed the mayor and all the other crime lords I was hopeful for a second that that was Boba. Then I remembered he had sent Shand out to do that, instead of him just going himself. So much wasted potential
Makes you want a Shand show, but then you remember they could only ruin her character.

I could have gotten over how slow the show was if Fett wasn't so gormless about starting his empire. He literally just went around like "I am the new king of crime. It's my first day tho, what do I do?" This show has formally established that Boba Fett is not cunning, ruthless, or particularly dangerous. He's just a guy with armor.
Doesn’t really lend itself to the idea of the guy walking into a palace, murdering the current ruler and sitting on a throne above his fresh corpse, does it?

The writers of this show seem to have COMETELY forgotten that Boba Fett was a villain. He was a bad guy. He killed for money. He tried to murder Jedi on the spot. He worked for the most evil and sinister people in the galaxy when he knew they were corrupt. He knew they blew up planets and ran crime rings and he didn't care. Then one day the people he tried to kill and who tried to kill him SHOW UP IN HIS CITY and he immediately joins up with them (talking about Grogu being the apprentice of Luke who had many fights with Boba and nearly got him killed) literally WEEKS before the start of the show... Just what in the f*** were these people thinking when they made this??

Book of Boba Fett should've been Narcos in SPACE. Crime connections, building up power, squaring off with rivals while keeping a careful balance with the populace and various authorities. It could've been great. Instead it was just... empty.
Which reminds me, Narcos is a badass show.
People say it was a bad idea to make Boba a main character but it would have worked if the writers actually tried and make this Narcos Breaking Bad esque show

The Book of Boba Fett's runtime would have been better balanced if 100% of its 50% space meetings and 50% dramatic entrance scenes featured a space meeting that included a dramatic entrance.

This dude contracted with Darth Vader, and a few years later he's refusing to kill, steal, harm, cheat, or generally hurt anyone's feelings. I know it's Disney but c'mon you'd think a show about a bounty hunter crime lord would have the faintest hint of an edge to it.

Imagine a Boba Fett version of 127 hours, with Boba in the sarlaac, it could still have flashbacks that expand his chacter, perhapes to Jango or to Cad Bane. It would be really satisfying to see him escape if he has to struggle more and longer than in the series

to be honest the deep fake Luke is really really well done its almost not recognizable that it has been altered anymore
The coolest and badass thing about Boba Fett was his helmet, and they spent so much time with him not wearing the helmet! He was literally a headshot away from being killed. Not to mention, his suit also looked so small on him, like his gut was bursting through it. Mando's suite is so streamlined and proportion to him, and just looked awesome.
Mando looks great in his armor. But it's like they picked up the EXACT set of armor from the Return of the Jedi, handed it to Boba and said "see if this still fits". Narrator: "It didn't."
It's fine, hardly anyone on Tatooine uses blasters anyway, not even the super duper Night Wind assassins. They have blasters, they just all choose not to use them for some reason.
One of the side effects of being eaten by a Sarlacc is you gain 50 lbs.

Thank you so much for watching through this for me. I watched most of the first episode and almost fell asleep. Then went here to see if there was any hope. Now I know you guys saved me a lot of hours. Your sacrifice will be remembered.
I don't hate this show, but I WILL admit I had more fun with this eight minute trailer then I did with an average episode that didn't have Mando or Baby Yoda.

I'm not mad, I'm just very disappointed.
Fennec Shand lacks any kind of character development. She's the loyal assassin who's sceptical about everything Boba wants, but goes along with it anyway. If it weren't for the fact that he'd saved her life, I would have expected her to betray him. I also hoped that the Tusken Raiders would be Boba's secret ace up his sleeve for the other gang's sudden but inevitable betrayal, but that didn't work out. And how come there weren't any aliens amongst the colorful scooter gang?

Shand is my favorite character so far and she's amazing in The Bad Batch. I can definitely see the artistic issues and conflict in this show (it was heavily rumored amongst the production staff). I know they can do better. I don't know who wrote this, but please, hire me instead. I will make this show so damn ruthless and awesome.

It was just sad that in a show about Boba Fett, he shot his blaster like once or twice and didn't give us the bounty hunter reunions we had hoped for by instead giving the star wars equivalent of the power rangers.

The decisions in this show made so much more sense when I found out the 1st, 3rd episodes and the finale were directed by the director of Spy Kids.

The mod street gang was such a laughably bad part of the show. Showing Fennec get her mods was neat but the "gang" could have easily been replaced with regular people or retired soldiers, stormtroopers who hated the Empire, rebel fighters, other bounty hunters. Any of those would have been an improvement.

Yeah the reason they fell flat for me, was they looked like something out of cyberpunk and not Star Wars, also their bikes was spotless, what did they wash them with? Water? It's a scarce substance on Tatooine, which they had been stealing to drink, BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T AFFORD IT !!! DID THEY WASH THEIR BIKES IN THAT!! Sorry that have bothered me a lot.
The girl was REALLY cute, tho. So that's a point in their favor.

After watching Luca and The Book of Boba Fett I seriously think some producer just really loves Vespa or has a ton of its stock or both you know.
George Lucas made a movie called American Graffiti that featured colorful hot rod gangs. This was supposed to be a tribute to that. It was so out of place though.
What I loved about Boba Fett was the fact that halfway through, it became the Mandalorian S3.
The Mandalorian should have been the standard they tried to meet with this series, but idk what they were thinking when they turned Boba into a pacifistic savior and had street bike chases that looked like they came from Big Bad Beetleborgs.
What I loved about BoBF was the actress who play Fennec Shand

The 'I like Shand...' bit was gold, lmao, Ming-Na Wen's character was the best part of this show
I like her, but every scene she's in she rolls her eyes and looks to the side. EVERY ONE.
She was cool, I just really wish they had given her more development, instead of introducing the Mos Vespas.

I loved that part too lmaoo and I love Fennec but they also didn't do her character justice in the show. she could have had better lines and more badass action scenes
She is a bright spot in an otherwise forgettable show.
And somehow they still took it easy on the show. Bobba is an INCREDIBLY bad leader. He doesn't hire troops except teenagers with attitude, he doesn't pressure or threaten the other crime lords into helping him, just meekly asking if they could please not betray him, and is shocked when they do, needs Fennec to remind him that they could just kill the enemy leaders...
Talks about respect but then does nothing to earn said respect...
My favourite part was him declaring himself daimyo... of what exactly? There didn't seem to be an organisation for him to be in charge of.

A Cowboy Bebop-style anthology series would have been great for a Boba or Mando series. It's a show about bounty hunters going on random adventures, where each episode has a self-contained plot. Mando seasons 1 & 2 had elements of this (going from planet to planet and doing side quests), but in the end it was all to serve the Grogu and Empire story arc

It’s like Disney knew that they had a lemon and tried their damnedest to make lemonade by adding episodes with Mando, Luke and Ahsoka.
The original Boba was a skinny guy, so his shoulder pads covered his entire shoulders. Now with a beefed-up Maori his shoulder guards are more like tiny decorations.
The issue is mostly the new undergarments on the armor. Temuera is a bit bigger than when he played Jango, but the armor is being placed over 2 layers of robes now, instead of 1 layer of form fitting material.
@@nooneyouknow13 It's what I said, plus what you said, plus compared to The Mandalorian (who clearly IS now correctly armoured) Boba is basically in Bikini Armour.
The men in tights scene was a nice touch. Speaking of which, you now have to do Robin Hood: Men in Tights (tight! tights!)
This man has the perfect voice and voice delivery for this channel. His mojo and vibe makes the stuff so god damn funny. Perfect candidate to narrate. 😏
