The new reputation system can be kind of confusing when it comes to what kind of rep you earn for doing different things in the update. In this video I do my best to give you all the details and tricks that you need to know to rank up fast in the Los Santos Tuners Update.

Yeah it's sort of silly that pulling off the mini-heists does not increase your fame/reputation among the car crowd. Especially since the in heist chatter among the NPC's is about how awesome a driver you are - and the NPC's are shown in LS meet.
So it's Arena War all over again, where you need to spend ages grinding to level up, only to find out you've unlocked a t-shirt for the 70th time. You'd think that doing the Auto Shop jobs would net you rep for the update because, you know, you're doing jobs related to driving...
But here it is easier to Level up and not to be forced to be participating in an Arena.
And us red dead players are begging for a reason to keep playing... Sigh
I must say I kinda like the area war and the car meet level system, but I don't like that everything is random what you unlock. The only thing I like is about the car meet you now you unlock trade price every 5 level

I like how R* added the reputation to get the clothes and other unlocks.., but why couldn’t R* just add them to the game without actually having to grind so much just for clothes, livery’s, and wheels?

@@IamMortui It was an ironic comment, I know that's hard to deliver via text. Of course it's no incentive to make you play more by just making everything super expensive. But that's what companies think: Making a long grind for smth you want will automatically make you play longer.
@@TheMuchti Just like how R* thinks that people grinding their ass off for 24h then getting all of their cargo destroyed by 1 out of millions of greifers will make them go buy a sharkcard, which again just makes them what to take a break from the game or just outright quit. But I understand where you're coming from.
all i want is an "Unlocked items" section in the inventory, the "you have unlocked" screen appears for like 5 seconds then never seen again
Pretty sure theirs a “brief” section in the pause menu somewhere where you can see stuff like previous dialogue and the stuff that pops up then disappears
Shadow-Squid yup you can use that In stuff where notifications don’t pop up like in A guided rocket or RC car or mounted gun or whatever
@@shadow-squid4872 yep, in pause, info tab, then Dialogue is calls and stuff, Help is like right dpad for ‘x’, and Notifications like time remaining before kicked for idling
It should be noted, Level 30 is when you unlock the last bit of gameplay hat's locked behind the Reputation System, for those who don't know, on top of unlocking new types of races via the Reputation, there's also Abilities you can use in the Contract Robbery Finale Missions.
What are the abilities? I haven't seen anyone use them
@@baconatur4039 They each cost $5000 to use... I think. Quick Fix, Wingman, Diversion, Setup. Quick Fix spawns an NPC who'll fix the Tuner you're using for the mission... and I have no idea what the rest do since I've not had the chance to read their descriptions... but I'd assume Diversion is something like it de-spawns a few enemies, kinda like how the Decoy in the Casino Heist lessens the amount of Police you have to evade.
Zak Ras do you need to unlock them to read the description? I’m level 35 and could go check but I need to start the mission in the first place before I get to the finale

I have gotten the "modify car" for rep several times in a day.
I've only ever gotten it once, you sure it wasn't a coincidence with the rep earned by just being there?

Got it several times aswell but it was between several Hours. Got a whole Level from 28 to 29 by just Tuning my Warrener HKR in the Carmeet Tuningsection and some random spectating me.
The rep increases as I mod a part & the amount each time is definitely more than the usual for just being inside the car meet. The interval between earning this rep seemed well over an ingame day, but nonetheless more than once a day, though today it doesn't seem like it's working anymore for me...

Just thought I'd leave this trick here. You can straight up choose what trade price you unlock next by force quitting the game as soon as you see an unlock you don't like. For example, I was rep level 14 and right on the edge of 15. I saved my game by changing clothes inside of the car meet.(set spawn to last location, you will spawn INSIDE of the car meet!) Then I simply bought a hat from the car meet shop to gain rep. If I don't like the car I unlocked the trade price for, I force quit and reload. Bought the hat and repeated until I got the car I want.
Clever!! I'm finally up to around 72 so one more trade price to unlock but I'll keep this trick in mind for my other character. :P
@@mr.razington7881 Glad someone might get a use out of this. :) I'm only level 25 but have chosen each of my trade price unlocks so far, aside from the first of course. Also, I wonder what would happen if you leveled faster than the new cars are released. Would you unlock nothing the next time you're supposed to get a trade price?

Earning Rep Points would be perfect of they added it with work from the new property. Especially for turning in the exotic cars, low pay could be decent if it had decent RP.
Better if they added it to all land races. Not just the new tracks

I'm convinced that they meant 100 but accidentally made a typo. Did this before when Moonshiners came out but in a much worse way.

I'm level 21 and just been hanging out at the car meet, doing time trials, tuning my cars there, buying a tattoo and some clothing - other than that I just rip around in the pursuit or street races and have fun =]

Pretty sure you can also earn reputation from delivering the export vehicles to the docks. You can deliver up to 10 in a single day and they can spawn everywhere around the map but you're likely to find most of them in the city.

I've been standing still in the corner for 24 hours, im level 50. The car meet folks must really love people who stand there quietly without moving or sleeping.
I believe you can go into the spectate test track as I think it counts as spectating as a activity
I prefer the arena war version All that did was discount, this locks you out of content

Level-locking the wearables isn't a big deal... Besides, it gives ppl the motivation to play the new modes & goals to reach with the fixed level unlocks & a ranking system that goes up acceptably quickly, unlike the Arena's tediously long & randomized system.

Opening a car shop website on the phone for me is not kicking me out. Idk if it's a glitch but it worked for around 30 minutes (the time it took me to make some dinner). Btw, you're destroying Mr Trash For The Bin here, if you know what I mean haha keep it going like this, I'm loving it :)
I don't really enjoy the races. Might be very bad luck, but I had yet to have a race without someone ramming into me and thus completely taking any chance of winning. And then there is the Calico. To be honest, if that AFK-Thing will be capped or something, I think the rep-system will die out and they gotta do something. Because with how it is like this, it's not gonna work in the long run.

The quitting this is a long time RP and Arena war AP farming technique, I don't think its gonna get patched lol. Compared to them this is wayyy better. Its way fast to earn Rep than grind the garbage AP even though they share the same system. Its way easier to do this solo and have fun than deathbike simulator arena war

I like that you can use anyone's Auto shop in the lobby to mod your own car, be cool if they received the money.

The afk cap is only for the bonus wearing the clothes. You can leave it in all night and I went from lvl 6 to 22 overnight

Currently level 27, i love doing Streetraces in my tailgater S. i am also most of the time bored in GTA so i end up chilling in the LS Car meet.
I wish the Tuners rep had a sort of lucky wheel like the arena wars one where rep points can be gained through it, cos that made it quite a bit easier for arena war at times.

While I don't mind having multiple rep systems in the game as sometimes that seems needed to put people onto equal footing for unlocks, those systems shouldn't have the bare minimum of activities to level up. The stuff should definitely extent to other race types and the auto shop work. Also I wonder if this wouldn't give us more rep if it was just using the same level scaling and xp amounts as the regular levels.

Apart from unlocking stuff in the LS Car Meet shop, what does reputation do for you? I know it allows you to call in various levels of help for the Auto Shop missions, but I've completed all 6 solo except the train one where I did need help from a friend.
Do you know if setting the car meet as your spawn counts as visiting it? I log on each day and do the daily things but if it doesn't count, I'll need to spawn outside or buy a nearby property. D:
I’m just glad you can level up without other players. Increasing your arena rank to get some of the later rewards is virtually impossible now.
Arena War was doomed to fail from the very start. It's bad enough you have to level up to earn trade prices for vehicles and upgrades. But then they added *clothing* to the trade price roster, and the final nail in the coffin is how all the trade prices are subject to *RNG* mechanics. You could be level 500, and *STILL* not have Trade Prices on some vehicles. If I could rework Arena War, I'd make it so simply completing a match would level you up, with wins leveling you up *twice* instead of just once, and replace winning Arena XP on the prize wheel with being able to win extra levels.
Tip : Before u go to sleep or somthing go to car meet make sure your character always moves and every min or so u get a bar of rep and for me atleast i get ,14 lvls of rep every night i just started doing dis and am lvl 32 rep as know
I was only able to start playing the update today due to my job but im already rep lvl 7
For me the business that gives less money but is the most honest is precisely the one that is full of bugs. Since I launched the DLC I have a blue Club that whenever I try to deliver or ask an employee to do it the "inventory price error" and keeps sending the game restart since I've tried it several times and it always comes back to the garage. And errors can still occur, such as not being able to interact with customers' cars or even when delivering the game, the game does not detect the car even when it is stopped at the mission delivery checkpoint, this one can be specifically resolved by switching between session or reopening and redoing the sale several times until it works but it is certainly not worth it for both the time spent and the payment. Sometimes I couldn't even tune my personal vehicles inside the tuning shop because the option to tune the vehicle just didn't work. I was excited about the DLC but I'm getting disappointed with the bugs that so far haven't been fixed, at least the player side spawning bugs have been fixed.

Im lvl 27 my favorite activity to rank up is the time trial and the races
For some reason i got the trade price for the jester rr at rep 10, idk when i got it but i noticed i only had to pay the trade place

Ah yes Arena Wars MkII reputation system, have heard the crazy amount of races you'd need to win alone just to reach max level 1000🤯 but that aside, there are some pretty neat unlocks along the way throughout, and a handful of different ways of getting some rep each day too at least!👍
Every two laps in the time trail on the test track will give you a small amount of rep points
2:50 AM LAST NIGHT I was level 24 with one bar filled now at 4:54 PM THE NEXT DAY I’m level 33 with 3 bars filled All afk while sprinting around in first person except for the past few hours while I’ve been awake Now I switched to all the clothes I unlocked and bought everything I could (actually that’s included in the level 33) Strictly as I was asleep I woke up at level 30 with one bar which was 8 hours
seeing that some of the nicer piecec of clothing require lvl 100+ i need to say, rockstar needs to add better and more ways to earn rep for soloplayers.
I have seen a clothing item that needs lvl 500...
Idling at the "return to ls car meet" screen from the test track doesn't work I just tried it
