Bonjour à tous,
This week at the chateau, its part 1 of this huge job, work starts with installing the septic tank system. after waiting over a year to get it sorted it is finally here, the system is delivered but as the chateau was designed to welcome people in a horse and cart rather than a lorry, we have a little problem getting it in.
We talk through why we have chosen this system and how it will work.
If you like our videos please subscribe to our channel and hit the like buttom on the video as It helps us massively 🙏🥰

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

  • Wow, you sure are cracking on! Listening to you explain what has to happen to install the system, whew! I'm a Canadian so I'm glad we had the right system for you! It was so nice to hear the birds singing in the background. You are such a wholesome couple Terry and Ash and ditto with Tracey, Tony and Jonathan. A joy to watch, even watching a septic tank being installed!

  • We use a similar system in australia but our water that is filtered through sand sprinkles on to the lawn, happy to say it smells great and works wonderfully.

  • A sand and gravel drain field is the best. In the states the newer cheaper dome type systems tend to fail in 5-6 years. We have a sand and gravel septic system installed 42 years ago and it’s only been pumped twice and that was only because it seemed like a good idea but there has never been a problem. Good choice to do the sand and gravel!

  • Huge task - but won't it be awesome to flush a toilet! 😂 We had septic at our country cottage - keeping it clean and maintaining it was simple and it worked great. Always happy to see how much progress is taking place, leading to comfortable living.

  • have you considered widening one of the gates to allow for deliveries? The future will continue to need large deliveries. and in the future who know how wide the vehicles some of the guest may be driving.

    • Agree. The septic tank itself has to be sucked out every few years, and you do need that particular truck to be as close to the tank as possible...
