  • Also, how long do these risers last? Will they last 510 or 15 years? What do you think? I know they’re kind of a new concept

  • What do you mean by screw them down? Do you screw them down to the concrete septic tank and where does the yellow safety ring fit? Does it fit down where the lid does or up close to the cap

  • "like you'd want to anyway." My man, have you any idea how many people beat their meat at the idea of their master throwing them into a septic tank? Others beat their meat at the thought of stalking someone that they're obsessed with and then jumping into their tank to take a swim or have lunch. I mean, dudes were drinking Belle's bathwater. 😸😸😸 Idk, I realized about 5 years ago that Rule34 is absolutely as true and as real as the force of gravity.

  • Never seen those risers the tanks I use have a lip on them so I put tar outside of the lip and use plastic culvert for the riser and a concrete lid never had a problem you can pretty much drive anything smaller than a car over them.

  • Save yaself few hundred Benjamin’s. Use 24” corrugated pipe. Same lid. But the pipe is $40 per foot. Cuts easily with a dull saws all blade. Seals the same. That green riser is special made for use only with septic tanks. Therefore. They gonna charge the dog shit out of you. That one in video would be well over $350 retail on shelf. Color will be below dirt and won’t matter. The corrugated pipe is made for driveways. Yeah it’ll withstand the pressures of dirt resting against it. Everyone needs septic risers if you have a tank.

    • How did you attach that corrugated pipe to the tank with no flat edge on the end? and what type of lid did you use since there are no screw holes on the top end?

  • My school (high and middle mainly) had risers on all their septics, I think the middle school alone had at least 6 visible. Thing is, I wanted to ask if you're supposed to be able to smell the stench from 20+ feet away? At the middle school especially, you'd step outside the tech room (only exit is outside) and immediately be hit with the smell of human waste. So, is this normal or should they be doing more to change it?

    @Strix1213@Strix1213 Жыл бұрын
    • Btw, the tanks are closed in this situation and the smell is still incredibly strong (I'd hold my breath just to walk to the bus some days).

      @Strix1213@Strix1213 Жыл бұрын
    • There's a decent chance it's poor design or installation of the drain vents. As drains are used, air is admitted into the system through the vents (usually on the roof) and so they are open to the atmosphere. If too short or poorly placed it's possible to smell the gasses coming out of them at ground level. It could be something else though like a busted pipe.

      @PGspeed88@PGspeed88 Жыл бұрын
    • @PGspeed88 Ours were on the ground, right near constantly used classrooms, every time you left the room (door leads outside) you could smell feces.

  • My customers mostly refuse to install risers. It could be the price and they’re tight on money, but you’ll spend more in digging costs than the risers themselves.

    • What do you charge per riser, out the door?

      @MrJazzSaxophonist@MrJazzSaxophonist Жыл бұрын
    • @@MrJazzSaxophonist in general, about 30-40% more than the parts. With install of course. It does depend on how deep the lids are. As well as the distance to drive to the customers home. The parts are really expensive nowadays

      @Daniel-fu1me@Daniel-fu1me Жыл бұрын
    • @@Daniel-fu1me I only ask as we charge a flat rate of $500 per riser. Here on the beach, we usually only go up to a 12”, but it’s for the convenience of being able to operate the system twice a year. We’re selling tons of installs, and it seems to be the going rate around here. Maybe different where you are

  • For anyone wanting to DIY this, be aware of the soil in your area. Some dirt will crush poor plastic depending on the soil composition. Always check before you install.
