  • It must lighten your spirits to know that you can now afford Jean Paul, a master stone mason to completely redo the facade. Well done. Lovely work Jean Paul. Let’s remember, too, the young men JP has working with him, learning their craft from a master. Such luck for them.

  • Please let the craftsmen know how impressed many of us are with their knowledge and skills. Traditional skills are so rare.

  • Your parents are so much fun AND hard working. What a treat to watch your Dad "play" with the lawnmower.

  • Whoa those two years of dealing with the company that renovated the facade the first time must have been very stressful. I’m glad you were able to prevail. I hope this repair goes well. Best wishes.

  • I just love watching Anna’s dad help out around the yard! It’s such a normal “dad” thing to do and it’s so heart warming. It’s just what dads do! I often ask my dad to come and help out with yard clean up and cut down in the fall here in Michigan and he doesn’t hesitate to come help with his truck full of tools! This channel is wonderfully therapeutic while I sip coffee in the morning or afternoon :) thanks for sharing your life with all of us!

  • I have to admit that Jean-Paul and his workers make it look so easy. Good on Anna and Philipp trying it. Now we can see it wouldn't be easy on us either. Best of luck to all workers and hopefully no rain to make it dissolve and disintegrate before it's done.

  • I love watching the artisans fix the facade. I'm glad the world has these specialists. It looks like hard work but work that will keep you in shape!

  • Your parents are such lovely, generous and fun people. This explains so much about you, Anna. Your girls are so lucky to have you, Phillip, and their grandparents. Lovely garden work today, and I'm so happy that your facade is getting the repair it needed.

  • Most craftsmen, renovation companies or architects don't have a clue or even don't know that lime does exist. Most of old buildings are still plastered outside with cement or with ready made mix that are not breathable and cannot accommodate the move of the building. People are happy with the neat finish the first months but later they will spend fortune to cover the cracks and paint regularly their facade (and complain about humidity problems).

  • Such a shame it had to be done a second time but happy you hired a true artisan who knows the traditional way. Throwing it on does NOT look easy and takes great skill. Ziggy is such a beautiful dog but he doesn’t understand why you don’t want his paw print on your house walls. I love how helpful your parents are and seeing the girls helping their grandparents. Happy Easter to all!!! xx
