This man is so unbelievably funny! This child-on-a-pallet-thing was the best ever! No Hollywood movie could ever be better!
Your children are so adorable! Just like their parents! Love your chateau posts !
He’s hysterical! This family is beyond precious❤️
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Joseph Kellen Instablaster ;)
It's the type of thing Charlie Chaplin would have done haha.
Just showed my nine year old son the intro. He was expecting a monster truck to come out but had a good belly laugh when he saw what you were actually driving. Told me he was going to tell his friends at school tomorrow
How sweet, thank you! :)
„I need a child...the small one“ cracked me up 😆
"we need to toughen them up" was a great reason why he put the child there kkkkkkk. OMG!! Philip always surprises me, ALWAYS. rsrsrsrs
@@rafaeltorres4728 That would be something I would say and then hope someone wouldn’t call child protective services. lol. Four of my five children made it safely to adulthood. My youngest only has two years left at risk.
@@susanrussell8195 He / she will make it hahah. Philip is really funny
@@rafaeltorres4728 I’m just glad to see a parent involving their children. That statement was hilarious.
Me too 😂😂😂
He chops down a small tree. "For you guys out there, garden professionals, that might not have been much of a tree. but for somebody like me, with a degree in Philosophy -- it was some sort of achievement." I laughed out loud. Thanks!
When I'm feeling a bit down, I watch Phillip, it's a guarantee that there will be a bunch of laughs. Sorry Phillip, it is what it is................
And Phillip is right! You can't say project would have ever been completed without all the weeding! I'm so glad you had that amazing tool to use, Anna! You did so well! Fabulous garden it's turning out to be!!!
Wonderful opening...as usual. “I’ve got my hoe.” “Language Anna!” Philip, you are wicked! Love your humour! You are wonderful entertainers!
Thanks! I could not remember how to spell hoe!
🤣😅😂
Come for the chateau renovation; stay for the comedy. You guys crack me up.
I've watched the start three times and can't stop laughing. Although I keep expecting Philipp to trip before reaching the carriage house where his Ferrari tuned mower resides well guarded..
😂
I too crackup with these funny entros......You never know if you should take Phillip seriously or not :)
Lol, my son races BMW and came running to see what I was watching ! We had such a laugh
We did and said the same thing!
A child, a pallet, smooth out some soil. Love it. The gardens are coming along. Well done... ❤🇦🇺
The opening had me in stitches!! Sounds of an amazing power car, but the reality was hilarious! Also, “Anna I need a child, the small one.” Pure genius! Love these!! 👏🏻😂👍🏻
Phillip is such a ham - wonderful! From someone with a degree in English literature, I think we are both doing fine. Landscaping is a major task - weeding is a nightmare. Hours of toil with a mantra - "this will look great once we plant." I hear you on wisteria! It is such a romantic plant that turns into a stalker. Along with potato vine, jasmine - now it is hops for me. Add ivy along the way. I just keep some of these plants in my life ( for fragrance and torture) whilst acknowledging - they are trying to end my gardening life. OR my actual life. As I have said before, we step into your journey down the track and you have already done so much - amazing! One bit of advice with gardens - when I had 100 acres, first property here in TAS - I could not step outside without seeing work. I lost sight of the beauty and why I moved here in the first place. 20 years on - different space, I still have work but I can step back and celebrate the achievement and beauty. Enjoy lovlies, as I enjoy all you do xx
That's very precious advise, thank you very much, Nadine!
Love Tassie ❤
I LOVE EVERYTHING about this DYI series! The photography, the videography and cinematography, the amazing music! Perfectly woven together! And the crème de le crème, this couple and their family are simply BRILLIANT! So entertaining, educational and just FUN! HOLLYWOOD Quality! But Better! Thank you!
🥰Anna, I was pleased to hear you didn‘t think the coin was “that” old! Since I was born in 1957😜
Phillip could be the new James Bond! Loved the intro.
The music at the beginning was epic! It fit the scene so perfectly - so hilarious!
Love Phillip's humor! But I also think Anna is so smart, and has her own dry humor a long with much wit!
Oh very much so but no one gives her credit. TY
Phillip, for future reference, there is a procedure called ‘heeling in’. You take your newly purchased plants, dig a trench and lay them in the trench and fill it back in. This will keep the plants moist and viable for a couple of weeks or so. When you are ready to set them out, they will be easy to lift and plant into their permanent location. As an example, when I moved to my new house in the late fall of the year I was able to heel in my favorite plants in my friend’s vegetable garden for the winter. I was able to prepare their final locations and plant them in the spring. I did not loose even one plant! In the meantime, all the best to you and Anna and the girls. We enjoy your videos soooo much!!! Sarah and Michael
Thank you for the tips! Cheers
To Philip and Anna.... Kudos to you both for taking on such a mammoth task. I know what it feels like to labour for hours ( days!) and nobody can see where you’ve been or what you’ve done!!! Keep at it and eventually the pieces of the jigsaw will make the picture complete. Love your videos.
Is anyone else gobsmacked by Philipp's language skills?! Great episode. Keep going!
yes!!
I am flabbergasted, indeed. Can't be gobsmacked though, since I ain't british 😅
@@tally1604 Ha Ha! What nationality do you have to be to be flabbergasted? You can be an honorary Brit if you'd like to be gobsmacked.. you know, just to see the difference.
@Stella Marie Poetry and Green Arts first off, he is quadrilingual: German, Italian, French, and English. That I know of. It is quite possible he speaks more. If speaking 4 languages is not a reason for you to be impressed, perhaps you can upload a video where you speak all the languages you know fluently in conversation. 😁
@Stella Marie Poetry and Green Arts I know, but his use of idiom and expression in English is very good. I don't know about his French but is sounded good to me. Overall I think it's very impressive; lots of people don't speak one language very well!
In the next episode, Phillip removes the three shrubs he planted because the arborist told him that he needs to fell the other two trees right in their path...
How do you know?!!
@@HowToRenovateAChateau well it's Phillip and Murphy's law is always involved with him lol
The little one helping by sitting on the pallet! Bless her cotton socks. Sowing the seeds of love in your soon to be fabulous garden, xxxx
I love how you guys took the time explaining all of the previous events with the landscaper, where you're at, and what you're doing today. It's so simple but for us just joining you guys on the journey - it help makes everything make sense. 😁🌿 Loving the garden videos and here for the many, many more to come during your warmer seasons. x
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely Enjoying Phillip in every single episode, lovely family.😘🙏👍👍❤❤👍👍👍👍
So smart of you to hire a professional landscaper. They will help get the scale of the planting area and plants correct. Always a challenge with a large property. I don’t think you put any fabric down before the much so WELL DONE!!!! The fabric is not beneficial to your plants. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you and no, not a fan of fabrics either
@@HowToRenovateAChateau Natural burlap around a root ball can be left in place after the top is opened once in the planting hole. To prevent drying out & damage on larger root balls, it's often better to plant them burlap & all. The natural burlap will disintegrate in the ground. Obviously this does not count for man made fibers that must be removed.
The start was hysterical. The eyebrow move, the reving and then the mini tractor was so so funny! Then the request for a small child to weigh down the rake. Funniest vid yet. Love what you are doing with your chateau and grounds. I so look forward to your vids. So joyous and amusing
I laughed out loud with Philipp and the licking of eyebrows. Too funny. I knew he was going to not be driving a zoom car. Love your sense of humour.
Am I the only person who hold their breath when Philipp has a chain saw in his hand😂. Hilarious coming out of the garage - I had an idea the vehicle would be small. This is brilliant watching and so enjoyable. Thank you both. 👏👏
The start...oooooooohh! The rider mower....LLLLOOOLLLLLL! As usual, you two make my day. Many thanks! Your skilled labor (small child) was delightful and Anna’s ready smile is wonderful! You all work so hard to make the Chateau a paradise, I’m certain your hard work will be a success.
Here’s what I found re watering in the 1st year: Water Keep moist when first planted, watering deeply to help the shrub establish its root system. Once established, watering should still be deep, but less frequent. Most importantly, I would check to see if you will need to protect the Mexican Oranges in winter as they don’t tolerate frost or wind well. But they are a lovely choice to greet your guests! Their fragrance will be an added treat.
Thank you very much for your tips, I will water them every day now!
@@HowToRenovateAChateau You are so welcome. I hope you don’t mind. I think you are attracting a lot of frustrated gardeners like me, who are so grateful to you for letting us garden vicariously! The first year is always the time these shrubs, trees and perennials need special attention. Once they are established, you will be able to relax about them.
@@HowToRenovateAChateau I’m not sure they will need watering ever day. Just poke a finger in the soil and if it’s dry about 2inches down (middle of your finger), then you can water. A practical old wives’ tip.
Philip licking his fingers to fix his eyebrows made me laugh so much hahahaha love the intros!
Philip is hilarious, I get such joy watching these videos.
I can always count on having a big smile on my face after one of your videos!
What a groovy opening scene! Tom Cruise has got nothin’ on Phillip! Speaking of Phillip, I am very impressed with his ingenuity in this video. The use of his canine tooth as a pocket knife will most likely go viral and dentist all over the world will be thanking him! Congratulations Anna on finding treasure while weeding with your fantastic proper gardening tool! 🌸
I rarely comment but ........ the start of this video had me in stitches!!!!!!! Well done!
Thank you very much :)
I'm only 1 minute in and already hit the like button!! My husband is the same way with his "tractor"!!!
You guys are absolutely killing it (which is a good thing). Such a fun and funny family! Informative, educational, and entertaining all wrapped up in a high quality video. Thank you for sharing with us. I’ll try to watch as many advertisements as I can without going mad 💕
It is so wonderful that you have all the original plans and documents, unfortunately when we got ours last year we did not even get a key with it 😂😂 Very well done to you 👍❤️❤️
Yay! It’s Anna & Philipp time 🥰🥰🌷
When you borrowed the small child on the pallet 🤣 this video was a delight. Can't wait to see the orange 🍊 blossoms, I can smell them from Canada!
Your sense of humor is great. It wouldn’t be as fun to watch without your commentary (and Anna’s). I also love to see the girls getting involved. As a former early childhood educator for many years, I was very happy to see you both protect those precious little eyes, ears and hands with goggles, earmuffs and gloves! Great job. They will have many fond memories of this chateau, and vlogs for them to laugh at later! :)
I like the theatrics! Philip is so sweet along with the whole family!
"I need a child.....any child you want.....a small one" hahahahaha, I almost choked listening to that comment, while having breakfast hahaha
Philip cracks me up. Quite a steady sense of humor. Love it!
As usual he does not disappoint with his humor so funny the opening
I am still dying here. I had to go back and watch the video before the opening credits . OMG.....Philip was sooo funny with the sun glasses, walk and lawnmower. lol
Thank you, M P, Anna was very surprised the other day when she saw me dressing up for mowing the lawn.
@@HowToRenovateAChateau lolololol
Your sense of humour made my day! 😃
I love you three! Ella is taking after her papa with witty charm, and her Mama sense of what’s right! Bravo on the beautiful new garden!! Can’t wait for the next post
Philipp, you just proved that you can make me laugh before you even speak one word! Good luck with your beautiful garden.
Sunday's are my favorite day of the week!!! Been waiting for Garden# 2 patiently ALL day!! Bravo from Massachusetts USA!!!
Only 30sec into the vlog and Philipp is already cracking me up!😂
I am STILL dying here. Philip doing his eye brows right at the very, very beginning of this video. OMG........you two are too much. Love the interaction you both have with each other. lol
The girls are darling. Anna and Phillipe are witty, intelligent and feed off each other wonderfully for entertainment purposes. May u find many more coins.
Opening scene....Pure Gold. . .
Moment one, look on Phillip’s face, knew I was in for a treat!
LOL that was a great beginning, and the eyebrow lick priceless, what a fun personality Phillipe has
LOL, your story-telling talent is greater than your gardening. The comedic bits are TDF. Wonderful content, thoroughly enjoying every minute.
Those Orange Blossoms are going to be spectacular. The soil is going to be thanking you for a long time yet for that wood chip mulch. Well done.
I love it when you share different design related insights, like the wallpapers or the landscaping!
You guys are a gift to the Chateau world!
I'm dying at the Intro!!!! Found your channel yesterday and am binging your Videos now! Love your dedication and how beautiful of a Home you're building! Wish you the best of luck and nerves of steel!
You have definately missed you calling as a comedien !
This channel is hands down the best thing on KZhead! Your two lovely personalities always make my day and your stunning Chateau lets me dream about the day when I'll be ready to finally buy and restore my own.
I saw y'all using that weed root pulling tool an it was just what I needed!!! thank you. I ordered it an it's awesome saves my back. So thank your wife 😁 my mom an my myself love watching y'all. Y'all have given us so much inspiration.
That pallet trick is awesome! And yes you need a metal detector! The beginning was hilarious 😅
This came up on my feed a day late - very strange. I love the opening- the humor along with Chateau life is pure gold. I didn’t realize how beautiful the area is around your home and other properties. This is a beautiful drive up to your Chateau!
Looooovvveee you guys sooooo much! Especially the V8 Turbo lawnmower! 🤣🤣🤣
I am crying, that is the best intro I've seen yet! :D
This was my favorite episode so far. 😊
Philipp, when you said, Anna, I need a small child and kept looking toward the sky I was holding my breath waiting for your daughter to suddenly drop out of the air....
I love this family and their fabulous home. The couple take great pleasure in the gardening and it is back breaking work but so worth the effort. The dad is sooo funny, I was expecting a ferrari to come roaring out of the garage 😅 and 'I need a child, a small one", brilliant 👏 I'm hooked 😀
Thank you very much!
"That was relatively painless...not for the tree..." 🤣
lol, best intro ever Philip.
Thanks 😊
Phillip, you did an outstanding job on the tree cutting and all the ground breaking for nearly 300 plants!!! Stunning idea for the Mexican orange blossom! Have they bloomed yet? I bet the fragrance is wonderful!! You'll gave to update US on how all is growing! Delightful! Thank you for your hard work and sharing your time here with us! ❤😊
I really love your husband,s sense of humour he makes me laugh every Sunday 😂😂
Danke! Thanks for the Moment at the beginning. 😂 I think, you deserve it. Anna, you won the lottery with this man. What a sense of humor. We Germans like this.
Glad you enjoyed it, Kayla! :)
Really enjoy your family’s great banter
What a great couple you are, such wonderful sense of humour with each other. I really enjoy watching what you are doing with the chateau and gardens. A fabulous adventure and life for the children, you will make such unforgettable memories.😊
Philipp you have such a fun sense of humor with the start of this vlog!!! I love the idea for the hedge in front of your chateau to help connect it to your grounds!!! The hedge along the road and all your new plantings are going to be so beautiful!!! It will be so fun for you to see all your hard work pay off when they start to set and mature.💖💞💖
Im wishing ,right now, that there will be two videos every week !
It's gonna be tricky as we have a Chateau to renovate as a side job ;) but there is always our Patreon page if you're up for more of the chateau :)
Philip cracks me up! He always double digs🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he will learn one day. And his pruners / felco’s he can send away to be sharpened , so he doesn’t have to use his sharp 🦷 🤣🤣🦷🤣
The Mexican Orange blossoms are going to be so beautiful in the summer, and not just that, once the flowers in them bloom the scent will add so much to the entrance , plus not to mention how all the pollinators will be benefited!
Love the pallet-trick. I have used it to flatten my Potager garden too. I didn’t have a 3 year old (only have 6 and 8 years old 🤣) so I just put another pallet onto the other for more weight and that worked perfect 👌
Great idea!
@@HowToRenovateAChateau thaks - hope you can use it. It looks like you have big exciting plans for the hole garden
Fun Fact, Traditionally laurel hedges were planted outside kitchen windows and servant areas. :)
So glad you got yourself a garden designer it will save money and hours of time in the long run x
🤣🤣🤣 The first 50 seconds of this video got me rolling. Bravo to Philip. I’ve been watching many episodes and never been so entertained. You guys are wonderful. I appreciate every bit of it.
Man, I thought you were going to bring out the FERRARI from the garage! I am disappointed 😂😂😂! That was a good movie script 👏👏👍💖. You got me there for a moment
Honestly that optical illusion that Phillip moved the plants was so convincing, maybe he should become a full time illusionist!
The just, the dedication and hard work that you both have put into this home is absolutely astounding. Most people may have given up at several points along this journey. So glad to see how the land is changing. It must be so thrilling for you to see these projects come to life :)
That weeding tool IS great- just 'knock off' the excess soil back into the garden before tossing the weed. 👍❤
I love your videos! As the former owners of an apartment in Provence, we miss France and you help us get our weekly dose. Merci!
The intro just “cracked” me up! I really love your sense of humor!
You bring so much joy to so many people. Thank you ❤️
Wow! You folks have come a long way in two years though. All these work done! Very well done. Truly inspiring.
Thank you both for your entertaining and inspiring videos. Phillipp you are mad, bad and dangerous...! I am a professional gardener, and it fills me with joy to know that you have consulted a professional landscape designer. It's so important. Please go back to her and ask if you are unsure as you go along, it is so important to get it right, and Philip, always measure twice and cut/plant once. You just need a small file to sharpen tools, but come on you could even use a knife sharpener from the kitchen. Blunt tools are dangerous and hard work... , great job with the planting.
Thank you so much and yes, we are planning to consult with her on a regular basis :)
That intro was so cute.🚜
Omg! The opening... definitely can't unsee that one 😂
Enjoy you all so much!
It's so refreshing that neither of you gets bent out of shape over the ribbing of each other. Wonderfully charming couple, beautiful children, lovely chateau, and always a good laugh on a Sunday afternoon.
Glad I am not the only man who smoothes out his unruly eyebrows before striding outside 🤣
Phillip is so dramatic lol I love it
Really interesting - thank you! Of all the Chateau channels, yours is the one of which I am the most envious.
