  • I really wish more videos were done this way rather than playing music or talking over, only to tell you what you are watching. There's a real sense of satisfaction in hearing the operations of things and being able to watch without interruptions. Thanks for posting!

    • I agree if everything is automated with high quality machine tools. I can't trust it because there are many people who don't make efforts to constantly improve their attitude and quality when people are involved. There is also the problem of the person himself, but South Korea is a country that disrespects workers, so it ends up like that. Because the primary goal is to make money as soon as possible rather than spending time and effort. That's why I still don't trust Korean products.

  • 50:09 The borax has no affect on the steel but only to act as a flux or a material to displace air from creating pockets or cold spots that could affect the integrity of the steel. When the borax/flux melts, it turns into a glass like material that fills the gaps where air was but moves when steel is manipulated into that area.

  • I did a job for Tampa Water Department to install a huge pump and three foot diameter bypass pipe with three foot diameter huge valves. To install the pump, first divers needed to go in and construct a clean room so we could core out a hole for the pump. Then we had to pour a huge pad for the pump and install the bypass. It was a major job but really satisfying. This pump was atop one of the main underground water tanks and I forget the size but it was like 3,600,000 gallons. The pump was seventeen feet tall and had a tolerance of 0.015 inches level at the base.

  • 55:16 steel is made of tiny crystals. Acid etches some grades of steel more rapidly and some grades have slightly different colors. After polishing you can see difference with naked eye if you look closely under the right light. Etching makes the grain of the steel stand out so the various crystal pattern is easier to see. Staining the steel with concentrated coffee can make the patterns even stronger.

  • The wheel bearings on a car or truck is actually one of the most important parts of the vehicle. All of the weight of the vehicle sits on these bearings and their hardness and accuracy is critical in order to reduce friction and increase efficiency and reduce rolling resistance. Tires are important too, big tires kill gas mileage. Heavy squishy tires add tremendous rolling resistance requiring much higher horse power to move the vehicle forward. On a car or truck, the hardness of the spindle and the hardness of the bearings and the efficiency in which the bearings rotate on the spindle are extremely important in high efficiency and high fuel efficiency. In between the wheel and tires and the car are the wheel bearings holding up the entire weight of the car and how good they are and how free they spin is critical in improving gas mileage. There used to be a video showing a Chinese wheel bearing and a German wheel bearing, they spun both. High quality steel is incredibly important, we cannot be depending upon cheaper grades of steel which are too soft and not machined and properly polished. It's far more important for a society than people realize in saving billions of gallons of fuel and significantly lowering cost. We absolutely have to protect and improve our steel industry to produce the highest quality steel we possibly can and that will save us billions of dollars in fuel savings and lower repair cost and longer product durability. But, when u mill or turn cast iron, it is recommended to use coolant to bind the dust, because it is a lot of dirt and it is very very unhealthy for the lungs. "Manual CNC processing" its like "baking water".
