The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

It did.... This is just a prelude for next season...
@@strongbrain3128 you mean they were both born in canada not that their parents were canadian right?
The mental attitude of both Emma and Laylah is astonishing, way beyond thier years
More like our society should behave them these days. Sadly alot acts like kids and are selfish and lazy
Absolutely.. And the pros are the exact opposite...

I have been watching tennis for over 40 years, usually men. The US Open women's final this year is the first time in a very long time that I can honestly say I am excited in looking forward to. And how refreshing are both Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez, on and off the court!
This will probably be the most watched women’s final ever, the Filipino’s are excited for Leylah and the Chinese are rooting for Emma.
@@Bountiful_Events Lol no. Li Na’s FO final has the record, being watched by over 200 million people (mostly from China). And no way this match breaks any of Serena’s Final USO’s
@@Legend-gv2nx Nope! Especially now with Covid-19 still around, the final match could... pulverize any record. Wait & see. Then, be convinced... ;=)

lol there only 1 winner emma is basically on a 13 match winning streak ain't dropped a set and has the better serve and can hit winners from anywhere easy straight sets victory
@@ronnylee1520 i think mentality will also be a big factor. Both ladies are currently the “teenage sensations” and of the same lower ranks in women’s tennis beating expectations. This is going to weigh on their minds for sure. But anyhow, it’s going to be fantastic to watch this showdown.

They made Tennis so fun and brought back its greatness through the joy and love of playing tennis that you can feel their emotion while playing and with this final US OPEN match it really doesn't matter who wins. it will be a victory for all and the sport of tennis.
Yes, tennis is not just a sport. It brings people endless happiness
Thank you! Well-said. They both deserve to win. I will celebrate whoever wins. A pitcher of Margarita with crushed jalapenos.
I'm so excited to play tennis Mr (:
Yeah, these teens made female tennis matches more exciting.
What did they do that they made tennis more fun for you and many others? Is it their youth? Cause we have seen many young players the last years, so I don’t really understand
This will be the most watched woman finals in history!
Legendary
@MR It already is, you lose
I truly wish somehow they could both win. . . I want to see the match though!
Yup. I cant bear for any of the girls to lose. But i am rooting more for Leylah, she had a tough life... her Dad said they had nothing.
@Jakob B There are no draws in tennis unless both players withdraw or retire. 1st round Wimbledon 2010, Isner-Mahut lasted 11 hours lol
I could careless who wins as long as it’s one of them 😀
@@Binatasj Don't worry. The loser of this year's final will win the rematch ... next year. About time go start a dynasty in women's tennis again, after decades waiting...
They've both played great tennis to reach the final, so whoever wins the tournament, it'll be well-deserved. Personally, I prefer the story of the qualifier who defied the odds and won the slam.
Haven't been this excited for a final EVER
Me too. It is gonna be amazing
For women's final, kinda the same
Why is it more exciting than other finals?
@@hanswurst7817 the buildup was more exciting, two young teens coming out of almost nowhere as the stars of the future

This final needs two champions. I am for both 😄
I’m not I am for the Ecuadorian ! Viva Ecuador !
I'm a fan of both of these young girls. They made me watch tennis because I'm a basketball fan. Both of them are already a champion 🏆. Let's just enjoy their game.
I wanna like so badly but ur likes are at 69
I love how Grand slams make these "Road To The Final" videos. It kind of motivates the younger generation, especially this specific final, because both finalists are TEENAGERS, and kids can see their path to greatness and success.

I haven't been this excited about a U.S. Open final (men or women) in two decades. These two are so evenly matched with similar meteoric rises to the national spotlight.
This will be the first women’s final i have watched in years. Cant wait.

I think the is one of the most Amazing things I have seen in decades!! THere's so much Happiness and Joy for the game between these 2 players! These 2 young ladies are both in the Finals!!
Those two phenoms are the best thing that ever happens in TENNIS in a long time. Tennis is exciting to watch once again, thank you Leylah and Emma!
They have breathed so much life into women's tennis.. It was so needed.. and I'm looking forward to this rivalry.
Well, we just had the winner in Emma (my pick) and it didn’t disappoint. Hardly watched tennis with enthusiasm since the Graf, Capriati, Henin’s era of exciting tennis. But Emma is the real deal. Her game is so watchable with that inner strength and steel applied with intelligence around the court. How she conduct herself on and off the court is remarkable for an 18 year old..very classy.
Yes! Towards the end she completely broke Fernandez physically and mentally! Look at the sheer power of Emma's shots! But if you see her physical training it is just scary!!
Me llena de orgullo que una mujer tan joven hija de padre Ecuatoriano tenga semejante Talento: sigue Adelante Laylah superando a las rivales de turno. 🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨🌹🙏
My head says Emma and my heart says Leylah. But I love both players!
I literally texted this exact sentence to family a couple hours ago lol

Me too. Heart Leylah because she basically had very tough road to the finals and she sweat blood to get it. She dersve the title outright. But my head says raducanu since her game is actually more complete than Leylah

@@silveriver9 Leylah Fernández es Latina Ecuatoriana
Both Fernandez and Raducanu are already both winners. If you think about it they both become millionaires after this match. They have both taken out top seeded veterans to get to their final. They have made history together with Raducanu being the first ever qualifier player to make the finals in mens and womens draw and Fernandez beating 4 seeded players and 2 of them grand slam champions in Osaka and Kerber. If your not excited for this grand slam final then I don't know, I'm cheering for both.
Fernandez definitely has had the way harder draw and more grueling matches. I’m pulling for a Fernandez win but much respect to both players.
She has had the harder draw, but Raducanu has completely dismantled very strong opponents(Bencic, Sakkari, Rogers ) and hasn't lost a set in the entire tournament. I think this will be very very close.
@@Marvelerence Agree. Raducanu has demoralised all her opponents. Will she do it again in the final.
Can only beat who's in front of you. Saying one has had a harder draw than the other is irrelevant
Emma also has played 3 qualifiers before she was even in the main draw!!
@@jameshunter6289 It's the fact Emma is amazing but she didn't face any top seeded player . Leylah played against all the top players who won slams and lot of three setters . Love them both but Leylah is the one I'll be rooting for to win this tournament .

Although I have a strong investment and wish for Emma to win tomorrow (UK citizen), I just hope that the match will be interesting and that both players live up to their own expectations, and that the loser does not feel too disappointed. The real result will be the huge surge in interest in women's tennis, and the enthusiasm for the sport in all of the supportive youngsters watching and wanting to emulate their heroines.
