He plays extraordinary tennis.. But it is mostly about pushing physical levels beyond anything anyone has done.. It's not always beautiful to watch like maybe players like Federer, whose best points are like poetry in motion unlike Novak. So, many don't find it attractive enough.. But as you keep watching he keeps growing on you and you can't help but marvel at the level he plays..

Someone would find slogging returns from the baseline, finding corners and hitting the balls at insane angles cross-court, exciting while others find it boring... Similarly a game involving serve and volley, sliced defense from baselines, artistic pick up shots, unbelievable drop shots and occasional passing shots might seem too cute and non complicated to some and pleasing to others.. But you still marvel at Novak's returns and his overall game, just don't find it aesthetic to watch or emulate.... I don't like Rafa's game though.. It's not even near to Fed or Novak in quality.. It's the fighting spirit and sheer audacious shots which wins him titles. I would rate him third after Fed and Novak.. Just a personal opinion, no offense..

It is a privilege to witness this man's journey. Jaw-dropping stuff, amazing athlete, amazing personality, incredible strength of character to be able to stand alone and let his spirit flutter.

I personally feel he needs to follow through to justify that claim. Djokovic's dominance has been more recent, so of course we feel that way now. but if they all retired right now, then a decade later, we're going to have to point at federer's career at the most dominant overall. Of course, djokovic is on track to prove to the history books that he is the GOAT...he just hasn't quite done it yet. - Getting most weeks at #1 would be a good start and would at least allow us to make the argument that he's the GOAT. But grand slam count would seal the deal. He's definitely on track, especially with federer almost certainly retiring within the next couple years. Nadal might not be far behind, considering his history of injuries. This is completely fair too, because Nadal and Federer accrued many of their accomplishments before djokovic reached his prime, so its only fair that djokovic can catch up after the other two leave their primes. However, we can't just give djokovic credit for things he hasn't done yet. He has to actually do it, and its not such a sure thing. He could get injured, or new players could hit THEIR primes and be able to start blocking djokovic's grand slam accumulation. - The race still needs to be finished. Federer is currently in the lead. The way things are going, he's going to be soon passed by both nadal and djokovic, but if the race ended today, or if the third place runner just stopped running, we wouldn't claim the person in third is now suddenly first place and give them gold you know?

@@sumnahlennon4516 Novak grew up in a war torn country, had NATO bombs dropped on his head, had pathetic career development conditions compared to Fed and Rafa, his father literally took a loan from a loan shark(which is extremely dangerous in Serbia) to support his tournaments etc. Throughout all of his career hated and demonized by the western media, DQ-ed from US Open, treated like a dog in Australia etc. I'd say he also went through some things.
