He makes his opponents ask themselves "What do I have to do to win a point off this guy?" He started off as a defensive stamina guy, with his backhand, service return, and movement, all the classic defensive weapons. But he's since become one of the best servers on tour, with a killer forehand and an excellent second serve, the ultimate weapon of the attacker. His genius comes from his ability to shrink the court to where his side of the court is half the size of his opponent's.

I don't care how hard you serve if you can't get it over the net or miss a line every time. Just his last match Nadal had 20% more success with his first serve and Nadal is not great server, that should tell you something. Having average 55-60% first serve success means you are certainly not "one of the BEST servers on tour"

Very well said. I am a huge Federer fan and likewise I've had many heartbreaking moments watching djokovic beat federer. But I'll say this, djokovic is the GOAT. It's starting to bother me that he has so many people against him. That makes it even more extraordinary really.

I am a rafa fan but I must say I have never seen such skill of defence by any other tennis player .. rafa also has superb defence skill but Djokovic is better...Moreover he does not hit so hard forehand or backhand but his placement is awesome..Most of the time it's down the line...
Rafa at his prime was a better defensive player ever. That’s just my opinion. U will not see a better defence than a young nasal. He was a force of nature back then. Now he is more aggressive as he grew old.

Nadal didn't have proper family wife early in his career, he was into dates-partying etc & started losing hair with face appearing tensed unlike below 24 Nadal who was happy, smiling & cheerful man

They need to put the balls in uncomfortable positions, that is what draws the error from the opponents. Novak is better at working angles from difficult positions with his flexibility and shot-making. You are simply taking a dig at Nadal and his legendary defense just being youth. why did Novak lose so many battles against that Nadal if he were so good? Because he made Novak uncomfortable. Nadal was not just fast, he was also better at putting the ball at uncomfortable positions, and even though he has lost 3-4 steps, he can still make great gets and win points from unwinnable positions even against Novak on clay and not so much on the hard court because inherently he is not comfortable doing slides on the hard court because of his ailing left foot. I will stick to my opinion. Nadal between 18-22 was a force of nature in defense no matter how you try to spin it.

The squeaky sound of his shoes sliding on concrete is both scary and beautiful. No player can move on hard courts as well as him. It's like his ankles are made of rubbers, but it's a lot of hard work and talent. He had no business winning most of those points, like 17:27 for example.

Djokovic playstyle is build on offence, but he is perfect at defence. And when he loses his attacking position in a rally he never gives up. That's not easy at all, to stay in a rally and win it, after losing attacking advantage. Also Djokovic is the most elastic athlete I have ever seen.
