I’m a mechanic, and I find it hard to take off a wheel without a power tool. These guys stripping down this beast with just hand tools. Respect,👌

Well their trick is so obvious it is hiding in plain sight....working on a big beast like that without power tools ..you have to do it on a non skid surface ...dirt 😂🤣🤣😂you are accustomed to too many luxuries ....heat , ac , concrete floors and power tools😂🤣😂.These guys earn their daily bread, hats off to them 👏👏👏

I'm a mechanical engineer from Germany and I keep watching different mechanic videos from Pakistan. As a hobby in my free time I have been repairing cars, tractors, motorcycles and small engines all my life. I am absolutely delighted with your work there and your videos spur me on more and more to dare more and more difficult repairs. I think it's great what you're doing. Anyone can throw something away, repairing a machine over many years and continuing to operate it is a much higher art than spending a lot of money on new ones. Many of my work colleagues are also enthusiastic about your videos.
People in poor countries are champignons in sustainable cradle to cradle principe. Re-generation fix it done,t dump it. The western countries can learn a lot from poor countries. Thinking in possibility,s
Meanwhile they make it harder and harder to repair anything.
@@Skval2254 western countries were this way for a long time. Ask anyone that lived during the great depression. Western countries are rich now so, it's just easier and cheaper (usually) to just replace things. Personally, I prefer the idea of fixing things and keeping them going until it's no longer fixable but, it is what it is.
@@jonathaningram8157 too freaking true
@@jeffhall768 in the end fixing things is cheaper but for the mass they lost the skills to fix things. I owned a lot oldtimer mopeds . Still running good after 50 years and more. Modern scooters are mostly a total loss after 10 years.

What is interesting is how someone could acquire the knowledge to complete a project like this. Amazeing.
CAT parts books and maintenance books are very informative, you could work on most of the equipment without being much of a mechanic. But yeah an engine rebuild is pretty rough if you arent experienced

As a mechanic, I have to say this is one of the best operations I’ve seen from this country. At least everything isn’t laying in the dirt, they use specialty tools, and they actually use a torque wrench.
Thank you so much for your comments 😍❤️
I found it good to watch. These guys know what they are doing. Lifting heavy objects, they must be very tired by the end of the day. Well done to you all.
Sorry but I see the engine in dirt and a very unclean way to work on an engine come on ..do it properly
Yeah, but when was the last time the torque wrenches were calibrated? 1968?
aside from the massive over torquing they do on 85% of the major components
You certainly know who the main actor in charge is just by watching the entire video. And he does his job with humble cool and calm stress free attitude where the entire team are all happy and in the same boat. I would certainly love to work with an A Team like this. Great respect to the entire team. Awesome display of real mechanics.

These are the real mechanics. Their skill, confidence, and dexterity are amazing. See how they dismantled this beast and put the numerous parts together again. Considering the environment, this was an impressive undertaking. They cleaned the parts as much as possible, used lubricating oil in critical areas and torgued critical fasteners. Nice job gentlemen!

We are going up market on this channel recently. I watched one video where the guy used air rattle guns. Another recently where the business had fancy warranty stickers. And now an engine rebuild with torque wrenches and feeler gauge. New crankshaft. And several other new parts. The big guy knows his way around an engine. Definitely one of the better rebuilds I have watched on this channel. Now all they need is a posh out of sight guarantee sticker. Made for enjoyable viewing.

I am a hobby mechanic, and I learn much from such videos. Using power tools does not mean that you are a good or bad mechanic, infect its smart to use them when they are available in order to save time and energy, Mechanic skills and capabilities are not in the tools, it's in your head if you have them. Power tools aren't gifted by Aliens, they are human-made tools for their comfort and more officiant work. Don't forget that the Bulldozer is also a large power tool.
Right, thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
This is mind blowing, big ups to the team and the lead mechanic is just absolutely incredible. Great work guys 🙌🏽
This would have been perfect for an "Under-Cover-Boss" episode TV series here in the USA, they all would have won something. WOW, this was the most primitive engine rebuild on a huge CAT motor I've ever seen on YT. This is how mechanics worked in WW2 in the Pacific on remote islands. Very impressed with the teamwork and attention to detail. I see pride in all these guys working on this engine, and using what they have to do the job and get it done. I was actually mesmerized by the conditions they worked in, but didn't look like it bothered them at all. I'm sure they all would love to have a clean shop with work benches and new tools etc, Good on all of you :)
Yes & agreed in total...
thanks for watching & comments ❤❤❤❤
I'd rather see them doing just a ring job on a Cat 398 in a boat or something. Now that would be some entertainment. Re-using pistons and liners, just re-ringing the thing.
Same with the 15th Airforce in Italy, worked on mud fields, no hanger, much different from the 8th Air Force that had all the Hard Facilities in England.
We like to work at ground level. Why does every video comment go on about work benches. If you can't sit on your haunches tough luck for you. We use all our limbs !!
This is probably one of the most satisfying video I’ve ever watched, excellent teamwork there.

Awesome job guys really enjoyable to watch. Canada
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent work gentlemen. The only critical recommendation I have is for your torquing sequence. Anything that has multiple bolts (fasteners) should be torqued in a star pattern instead of one bolt after another. This is even more important when installing circular items and the reason is to guarantee components are flush to the surface evenly. I enjoy your videos and keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience ❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely riveting and glad to say it wasn't ruined by 40 zillion adverts. I watched every second end to end without distraction and I can't praise the work enough. I just wished these guys painted the block and shot blasted the parts (ok it adds to the expense a little) but then it looks so much more professional. Best repair video that i have seen so far from Pakistan mechanics. They use torque wrench, new spare parts (rings, bearings), new sealings, clean oil. Good job!
And not a workshop manual in sight! Truth be known, there probably isn't one anywhere near. I have the feeling that even if a 5000hp locomotive engine was brought to these gentlemen, it would go nowhere near the too-hard basket!
