  • Have you ever heard the tragedy of Rick Bromley, the Sniper? I thought not. It's not a story Zeus would tell you. It's a Recon legend. Rick Bromley was a Sniper with a Prowler, so powerful and so wise he could use the Arsenal to influence the outcome of a mission. He had such knowledge of the Arsenal, he could even keep those who he loved from being lightning striked. The Arsenal is pathway to many loadouts some consider to be unbalanced. He got so many kills... the only thing he feared was crashing his prowler, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he gave his squadmate all his loadouts, then his squadmate killed him while he was AFK. Ironic: He could save others from Zeus, but not himself.

  • "The World's Most Dangerous Game" was adapted into a film called _The Most Dangerous Game_ in the early 90's (if I'm not mistaken, may have been later) that's pretty great, in my opinion. Changed the settings to modern day in the middleof the wilderness, the wealthy Russians to some philanthropy CEO & co., and the sailors into a single homeless man lured in with the promise of a financial assistance program. Feels like the first Rambo at times, specifically the cat-and-mouse action in the woods.

    • It was originally a book from the 1920s that was later adpeted into a movie in the 1930s. either way the big different from the book and the movie you've described is that both charecters, the hunter and the hunted, are actually hunters, infact the protagonist was an American Big Game hunter with his buddy to hunt jaguars in the amazon before crashing. The Russian Hunter actually wanted the protagonist to join him as a fellow hunter but the Protagonist refused causing him to be a fellow hunted. The Book is more about the dynamic of hunting, if sport hunting is something we should keep doing or if it's just a barbaric act, using hunting humans as an example of how barbaric the act is. The Fact that protagonist is an hutner himself makes the movie and book much more interesting as it's not just some random guys hunting but are two proffesionals who knows each other tricks, in the book, the Russian Hunter actually admires the protagonist many times for his traps, as despite how grimm hunting another human is, he still see this as a game rather then what's actually going on, in the end The Russian Hunter actually keeps his word for freedom but the Protagonist challanges him to a battle to the death, mano a mano. it's very good

  • Would be interesting if the hunters actually had a lose-condition, like finite resources at base and finite respawns. Obviously that's not in the spirit of torturing rats, but what feels more like torture: thinking you have a chance to win and then having it be taken away, or knowing that you're going to lose eventually and just trying to outlive the others? Now that I've written it out, I think the true torture would be combining them. Do a similar thing to what you did in the video with simple vehicles in the first "round" and have the rats think that they just need to outlive your arsenal of SUVs, and maybe one Osprey, then when there's no more SUVs, you announce that the hunters will get reinforcements and start attacking from a second base with a lot more and dangerous gear.

  • I've had an idea for a game mode like this since Arma 2, but instead all the players would be animals and the hunters would be actual hunters with just bolt action rifles. But I think this is even better. I'd love to see a lot more stuff like this.

  • haha this reminds me of a thing we did in the early 2000s in halls on counterstrike... basically there was me and another guy who were actually good at counterstrike, and we got any residents who had a PC to install the game (all the bedrooms were hard wired to a lan, and counterstrike, actually halflife, has no copy protection). There was girls who had never played a computer game in their lives having their first game of counterstrike. It was 2 vs about 15 or so..... You could hear screaming down the corridor as some of them playing for the first time were cut down with bullets while they were still trying to figure out the buy screen. Pretty much everyone loved it and many of them eventually became good counterstrike players..... This was the days before making games exclusively for 'gaming' PCs was a thing - pretty much any potato PC could and did run counterstrike.
