A lot of lovely people are saying how nice it is to see us again, suggesting to me that they’ve missed our recent videos. We’ve put out one video a week for the past 7 weeks so if this is the first you’ve seen for a while, don’t hesitate to go back and check. They should be in the playlist ‘all videos in order’ and I think they’re all in the playlist ‘Coach House Restoration’.
This is Jerry writing first of all to thank Marc, Amy, Clement and Juliette for welcoming me in to their home and lives the past several days. They are a lovely and loving family. Marc and Amy have such an original and ambitious goal to return the chateau property and buildings to being a useful and beautiful addition to their community much as it must have been in the past. They love and honor the fact that they have been able to become the latest stewards of this very special place and I feel so privileged to be able to spend time together and to have them share their vision. I hope each of you reading will subscribe and follow them as I have been doing. The real joys and struggles they share on this channel inspired me to want to meet them and see for myself what they are doing. It is all so much more than what they can share on KZhead given the ambitious scale of their plans including the grounds. Reintroducing biodiversity to over a hundred acres is not as easy to show as something more limited in scope. There are hundreds if not thousands of feet of stone walls to excavate and repair. Invasive plants that have taken over and need to be strategically removed or managed. Basic infrastructure such as an eco friendly septic system, updated heat, plumbing and electrical work across numerous buildings. It is ambitious but I have no doubt in Marc and Amy’s ability to achieve this. It will be a great opportunity for you and I to learn along with them. So join me in joining them on this journey. Thanks to all who read this.
Hi Jerry, I think it’s wonderful of you to take the trip from Seattle to meet this wonderful family. I have been following them since they started the channel and I find them to be an intelligent, kind, loving, ambitious family. I respect them for what they are doing with this beautiful chateau. I hope more people subscribe and support them because their videos are really wonderful. -Stephanie from New Hope, Pennsylvania
You’re the best, Jerry. It has given us a renewed belief in our project to see it through your enthusiastic eyes these past days!
Tx for sharing. I love their use of permaculture techniques and ideas on sustainability. It's wonderful and so many things
So very well said Jerry
Here in the USA we have issues with the Emerald Ash Borer, I don’t know if that is a problem in France.
Forget the bucket brigade to move the gravel...set up a slide . Get a large diameter , thin walled plastic pipe, cut it in half and use it as a slide . Much easier than buckets or trucks. Love your chateau and grounds. Cheers from Canada.
Such a great video, thank you for showing us through the eyes of a guest.
Brilliant!
Sadly the distance is too great for that. The time and money involved in creating a chute that long would be prohibitive. Also it would require us to hand-shovel several tons of pebbles into the chute. The advantage of a large machine is that it can scoop up large amounts of stones in one go and transport them down the dangerously steep slope.
How fun to have a guest! I envy him. I’m sure it’s a fascinating tour to see everything in real life. Best wishes for a speedy date with the equipment needed for moving the stones.
Being mad as a box of frogs is better than being normal. Love your channel.
The idea of the tiles around the bathroom sounds amazing if you have the time, Amy! It was so nice see you chatting & showing Jerry around to see where you’re up to on projects. I love the feel of your property and home.. & your “rambling videos“!!
Ah, Gerry is lovely…how nice for him to visit you….The spring is a superb find. X Dottie
Hey Amy, I completely understand you living with the mess in the kitchen. We've washed dishes in the bath tub before, had the refrigerator in the dining room for weeks and had the stove in the middle if the kitchen before. It's not easy when we are all in a hurry to have our houses in order especially when we have small children. Just remind yourself it won't be forever. Hugs, Kathy 🇺🇸
Absolutely! Been there! 🇺🇸
So very well said. Many of us have lived in the midst of construction and it is definitely not fun, BUT as you said, it does NOT last forever (just feels like it during the process🥴)
Can't wait to find out what happened to the palm trees!
My late partner helped develop a similar filtration system using stones and aquatic plants to clean up a regional ammunition factory started before WWI. Explosives were contaminating the groundwater and leeching out past the property boundaries of the government facility. It's amazing what nature does to keep itself healthy if we let it.
Oh how interesting! Marc's niece is a geologist working for the French military to do something similar on their sites!
One of your most entertaining vlogs--thank you all!
So nice that you impressed Jerry so much that he went to visit you! Enjoyed this video lots!💯
So enjoy your Vlogs. Don’t get discouraged. Your content is wonderful and I think the relationship that you and Marc have is fun to watch. For those of you out there who are watching what does it hurt to subscribe? I think you should help out these very hard-working individuals.
Hi Marc, I helped build a cliff house the slope was about 45 degrees, we used a slide mainly to slide bags of concrete and gravel and timber, we framed it with side rail and the deck was form ply , later used in the build, but you could use second hand corrugated iron from other building sites,/ council tip. Support it with stakes and frame every 2-3 m. Good luck from Aus
That sounds like a great solution! I think the problem is this is a single job rather than a longer term building site so it’s not really efficient in terms of time or cost of materials to build anything just to get the pebbles down. Also we’d still need to shovel several tons of pebbles by hand. One of the things we need the machines for is the bucket to scoop them up! We simply don’t have enough time available on top of everything going on here to devote to the alternative solutions so we’re just going to need to find somebody else to do the work or wait!
👍all good , if I lived in Europe , you’d be just down the road, a couple of days I would have done it for you. With such a big big property the work load would be high, good luck. Best wishes from down under.
what a lovely visitor.. thanks for the vlog; always a joy!
Wonderful having Jerry there getting to know you all. Take care ❤.
Great to see you again, meet Jerry, and continue with all. It's a miracle to see so much multi tasking with two young children around...Till next time !
It is great learning about your projects, even when you are experiencing slow downs that must be irritating. You both display such good humor in the face of all the challenges. Also, the creative and innovative spirit of your approach is refreshing. Cheers and keep going!
Amy, I always enjoy watching everything you and Marc get up to. It’s a real treat to sit down, with a cup, no let’s make it a mug, of tea and immerse myself in your world. Thank you for sharing all your trials and tribulations as well as your successes. Looking forward to your next video. Until then, thank you and take care🙂🙏🏻
That’s so nice to hear - thank you!
Sooo happy to hear that you were able to take a well deserved vacation. Really enjoyed listening to Marc talk about his forestry management strategy. Not that anyone would wish you misfortune, but the flip side is that it does make for great content for your channel.
I am always so inspired by the two of you! I watch and think, " my goodness look at all they are doing! Surely I could get to that spark room." Then just accept that you two are so much better than I am! I adore the smiles, laughter, and joking you do. You make me smile, and I thank you. With joy and hope, Audri
Love the tiles! Amazing that you got the skills to do that Amy. Great find , the spring, Marc!! 💚🌿🌸
What a great episode, so fascinating, the discovery of another spring and great progress with the tiles!
I am so glad that you had a great family vacation. I look forward to future videos. They are so much fun! 🎉
I’m glad!
Thank you for going over the sewage treatment technique you are/will be installing. This might sound odd, but it will be a joy watching how the project progresses. It sounds like a wonderful idea for an off-grid property. I have seen one other that was built on a slope. Once the aquatic plants and reeds had filled each pond, they looked wonderful in the landscape! Best to all of you.
Ah, the trials and tribulations of chateau life! You are both doing incredibly well, considering you have 2 very young children. I am so glad you all got away for a family vacation. Thank you for introducing Jerry to us all. It was nice to meet him. I very much like the analytical approach you have in your projects. Amy, those tiles are looking really good. Pepper is such a good dog. ❤
Mark finding springs is my favorite kind of video
You could dig a well where the spring is, we had a hand dug well, it was stone lined from many , many years before but today you could get a concrete sleeve to insert into the hole . Once you finish and cover it , it settles down and we kept a trout in it to keep it clean. Once the trout got big enough it became breakfast and we put a little one back in. Lovely video.🥰🙋🏼♀️
Really love hearing about your journey and your insights. Great blend of history and innovation!
The tiles are beautiful, looking for to seeing them installed. Sounds interesting with all the plans. ❤
Encore bravo😊😊💯💯
Merci beaucoup 😍
Welcome, Jerry! It was fun to see the walk-around, but that sewer situation must be insanely frustrating for both of you :( It sounds like what you're making down the hill is a giant composting toilet, haha! I wish you could just ROLL the rocks down the hill, but perhaps they're not boulders, but little ones. I do hope that situation is resolved soon. You've done so much, and with so little time to do it.
You’re right, they’re little pebbles so it would take an awful lot of rolling!
That format was a joy to watch! Your tiles are looking fantastic! Could you ask your Mairie about local volunteers to help with the septic system?
Also I really like and agree with Jerry- your personal touch has much more meaning. The tiles you are making are going to be beautiful and will be enjoyed for a long time. A labor of love! Creativity at its best. Take care, glad to hear you all enjoyed a holiday and got refreshed. Stay goofy 😊
Definitely agree with Jerry. Wonderful idea, Amy 💕
Well done on all fronts! SO good to have someone from the outside come along to give you some perspective on all that you have accomplished!
You guys are such a joy to watch. Your sense of humor is marvelous. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Lioove you .
You're very kind - thank you!
❤ just want to leave comment to help you guys. Nice to see you interact with Garry, who seems like a very sweet and gentle soul.
What a tease…Palm Trees…can’t wait to see how they are doing.. Really enjoyable thank you Amy and Marc…x Dottie
Can I send some Palm seeds from the Paurotis Palm we have growing in our area. Tons of seeds. Grow quickly
I continue to be amazed at how much you know about building, restoring, plants, irrigation, and much much more! YOUR TILES ARE GORGEOUS! WELL DONE!!! You compliment each other! Glad you had a wonderful vacation from all this! ❤
Just great, love your dynamic, totally your own style, uniek, love the tiles.
So excited to find out what happened to the palm trees! As always, thank you for opening your home to us!
Another delightful story from "The Adventures of Marc & Amy"! Bravo! 😍
Lovely ! Following the progress is fascinating.
I love watching your channel and I’m so thrilled by the great discovery Marc made. What a terrific thing for Jerry to come and visit you. I hope you can move forward with the septic system so you can move into the coach home and have a better functioning kitchen and bath and a safe place to live while work is being done to the chateau. I think you need a metal chute to send the gravel down the hill. You also need helpers. I hope you can get some volunteers to help you along the way. Many hugs. xx
Your sewage system sounds almost like the one King Charales had installed at Highgrove. There was a special on TV not too long ago.
It’s basically the same, yes!
So nice to see you again, and get a little caught up on your many projects! Also your guest from Washington, our home state as well! How very exciting about the discovery of the spring! The tiles are amazing, I love the flowing top edge! Can't wait to see them put up! Looking forward to seeing what you did with the palm trees! Till then, take care and God bless you! Oh and I like your shirt! I have one exactly like it! 🤗💞
What a great (secret?) find by Marc. And all because he noticed the Acacia trees were bigger in that area! You did a great job of filming too Amy and I never detected the ‘panting’ in the background.🤣🐕🦺 Jerry must have had an enjoyable and fun time staying with your family, we know you are both ‘What you see is what you get!’ type people and that comes across the screen as being the lovely people you are.🥰🙏🏻 for more subscribers!
Thank you! Poor Jerry got the full ‘what you see is what you get treatment’ including me in my pyjamas for most of the weekend, Pepper slobbering all over him and Juliette co-opting him as her own personal servant!
@@Chroniclesofrosieres 🤣🤣👌❤️
I am praying for your family. And i'm praying that you are can get into the coach house. And get the sewage problems fixed.
Still enjoying the journey with you at Chateau De Rossiere!! Thanks for dealing it with us, your viewers.
Really enjoyed your video,so much fun! It's interesting having someone new there asking questions and somehow bringing a new perspective. If you're wondering are you as you seem in your KZhead videos...NO! You are even sweeter than I thought!!!! Especially Marc, who often seems to come across as a...how to put it, hm, a brat? or an uncaring naughty child? My heart goes out to you about this kitchen mess! I can understand this terrible delema. Remember to count your blessings. It really helps to combat stress and feeling down about things you can't control. Im preaching to myself too. Oh, I wanted to let you know I'm subscribed and I liked your video!
Marc is definitely funny!!! He has a fun sense of humor! Has me in stitches. Love you two together 💕💕
I always love to watch your vlogs. They are so interesting, and amusing . I can't understand why more people aren't aware of your channel
You should look into installing your own ram pump at your spring to pump your water to containers at the top of the incline. It's a cheap and easy method to utilize. What wonderful news to find a spring!
Interesting! I wonder if there’s enough pressure in the flow of this water. It seems to be more of a trickle.
I find it fascinating that in the same video you find a new source of water and and show how you are going to get rid of 'used' water! It all has to happen.
😂😂
Yay!!! 🎉 My first premiere!
Really enjoyed the tour 😁
Great find, the Spring will add much to your life when completed. I enjoyed the tour. ❤️🙏
Jerry is spot on about the room in the coach house, look at the beautiful room and don't focus on the 1 unfinished wall, what ya'll have done is amazing and hard...
So much progress & insight from recent visitor...Amy & Marc are so talented with perfection & care for their home & family. So rewarding to watch their weekly videos. ❤
You are a both very talented and very knowledgeable! Love your sense of humour!
Good evening everyone.

Always so happy to see a new video waiting to be watched. You guys make even the simple tasks seem interesting. Keep up the good work
Finding a Spring is wonderful!
You may need to start moving rocks with a wheelbarrow! 😂😂😂 So you can get that sewage fixed and get into your coach house kitchen!!!
I can barely walk up that slope let alone push a wheelbarrow up it 😂
I love the mood in your videos, especially this one! ❤ Never let go of your mirth, cheerfulness and friskiness 😊
Another great vlog. You are both so inspiring.
Yes yes yes,,Amy tiles!! Ot will be excellent for bathroom! What a great idea to show your visitor and it looks like you are all having a great time! Yay!❤ ❤😊
I didn't know comments would help the algorithm. so - Here's my comment. ;)
God Bless you Dear. The struggles of in between living. I enjoy your upbeat spirit and nature. Nice to have a visitors set of eyes on all you have accomplished as well as sharing the vision of the future. Brilliant
So glad you were able to have a good family holiday. This was a lovely video today. All the best.❤

Oh what a blessing Marc has find the spring what a bonus for you. The tiles turned out amazing Amy well done after the trial and error you done it Parfait😘😘
Hello from The States! So happy that you are still making videos and including us in your renovations and lives. Your ambitions are truly admirable and I don't know how you do it with two little ones! Love your dedication to doing things the right way with an eco-friendly approach. Prayers all of the roadblocks are removed or solutions found to circumvent the issues. Keep it up!
That was me, I think for the row of tiles. It will be a finishing touch for the room.. Yes!!
Best of luck with all you do.
I am so happy for you that you found a spring!
Once again a really interesting vlog. It really is all so much for you to do and hardly possible to show how much is involved in every step, but you're doing very well on all counts. And entertaining us at the same time in your own special fun way. It sounds as if you and Jerry had a great time together and his visit gave you a great opportunity to explain a lot to him and at the same time to us - with a lot of laughter along the way. Thanks so much.
I missed the livestream! Mid-day Saturday is pretty busy. It's nice to have another tour and explanation of the sewage ponds. I wonder if you should set up a slide or chute for getting stones down the slope - rather like what is used for tipping rubbish out of windows. As for the kitchen - can you get Ikea appliances and then move them across to the coach house?
Amy and Marc: Love the discovery of the hidden springs. This proves that following our gut instincts and curiosity often pays off! I'm glad that you have a supportive visitor from Seattle who can offer a different perspective - "Cheers" from Iowa!
Firstly I must say you look so well Amy, the holiday has definitely been beneficial to you. Relying on delivery dates is very frustrating, as the weather is the key to preparing the water filtering in the lakes. Your tiles will be beautiful when finished I'm sure. Enjoy your guest 💕🇦🇺
Honestly love the progress updates regardless of how small they are they're the small stepping stones to great things, thank you for sharing so much with us! ✨
Always a TREAT to watch you two and the goings on at your castle. (TeeHee). Beautiful property with magnificent views. So glad you both can laugh at the struggles it takes to make daily life worth it all at the chateau. 😊 Always nice to look back at your accomplishments, little by little you’ll get there.
Amy that is a very ambitious project of making tile that goes around the entire room. I know you can do it and I know they’ll be beautiful because the designs that you have done are absolutely breathtaking. In my opinion it will certainly put your mark on the bathroom. I can’t wait to see what the finish project is no matter how long it takes. Bravo Amy I would celebrate the flaws to. They look fabulous just looking at them in the rough form. I have been wondering about the palm trees because they weren’t laying around the out house. Thank you Marc and Amy.
I would watch your channel just for the intro and the chicken chasing after the digger!
Great update, thank you I so enjoy your videos. Don’t know how you do all you do with two small beautiful children. Hello from New Zealand. Subscribe people ! Doesn’t cost you anything!
I am so happy to see and hear all of you!
Thanks!
Wonderful video. Thankyou! 🇬🇧🥰
Enjoyed the tour, thank you❤
Around time 12:06… Marc and Pepper both have big goofy grins on their faces..funny with Marc in the spring water and the dog behind him just so happy! Glad you found that spring and can use it
omg Sounds like something my father would also say about me! lol , So great to get to see through the eyes of someone watching like the rest of us . great idea !!!
Love the ramblings.
we call them leach beds and the system works very well.
Watching you from Auckland New Zealand 🌺
The tiles are amazing!
Thank you Amy, I really enjoyed your video. I just love watching your progress, and the spring, what a great find. Well done Marc xx
