The chandelier is a perfect fit for the room. I like the idea of the bookshelf made of logs in the fireplace - very fitting! And the cushions are really the final touch to make the room feel like a home.
I think a quilt or a duvet made of that pillow cover material would bring out all the turquoise-y accents in the rug and in the chandelier & pull the room all together!!

I love a home with lots of books. Children who love books have a real head start in their education.
These two read all the time! Well we read to them. But they ask for books nonstop! They usually get three stories in each language at bedtime and then a few during the day if they’re at home. Sometimes during dinner!
My 18 month old granddaughter is like that. When we babysit she's constantly bringing books saying 'read' and snuggles in our laps. It melts my heart every time.

I cannot imagine a more charming home for your little family. And I imagine, that though you love the huge ancient chateau, you are both more than ready to settle down for a little while in a smaller, cozier and more manageable environment. And your plan allows you the freedom to just sort of damn the torpedos and go fill speed ahead next door. Every sniffle or cough or restless night will be so much easier to manage. And you will be doing it in such a charming environment. The bookcase concept, design and execution is adorable.

I adore that elegant chandelier. The bookshelf is a genius. It’s so natural and organic. I love the whole room.
...and the fact that the fireplace would have originally had wood logs in it ...makes it seem so natural to put rough logs with bark intact there. Also, the stone arch over the bookshelf gives it an added elegant dimension. Bravo to Marc for his great intuitive artistic flair!

FriXion brand pens are super. The markings will disappear when heat is applied to fabric and they come in lots of colors..

Great episode. Love the footage of the kestrels, even though they are small they are mighty and should help keep the insect and small rodent population down. The bookcase, pillows and chandelier are wonderful additions to the kids bedroom. Well done everyone.
Interestingly, the kestrels are also very good at preventing larger hawk attacks against our chickens when they're nesting in the chateau walls (every year). They get so protective that they chase the bigger birds away!

If the logs are fresh, I hope you treated them for bugs. If there are any, the books will be eaten. Thus speaks a librarian who has seen it happen😢
We didn't treat them. I'll double check with Marc but I don't think there's such a high risk over here in France. We don't have a problem with tree-munching bugs on the hole, other than a couple which are very obvious. But we'll keep an eagle eye on it!

What a blessed Margot is! So thankful she can be there and give you a nice boost when you must undoubtedly feel a bit overwhelmed at times! Its those things like the simple but lovely rustic hand (and heart) crafted book shelves and floor pillows that so nicely makes house a HOME! Sounds from her accent she's from here in the States, but are you able to say where? Im not picking up eastern or suthern much, so my guess is anywhere from the midwestern states on west to the west coast! Perhaps you've already said, but I happened to miss it! Love your videos!
