The transformed cistern and rescued greenhouse will function as a technical centre to control watering systems for our entire estate. This week Marc begins the complex piping system.
We live in a medieval castle with a huge, derelict estate in southern France. Follow our ambitious garden projects, from vineyards to formal gardens, tropical plants to self-sustainability. Our project is enormous and our enthusiasm contagious. We'd love you to join us.

I am always amazed at what Marc knows and what he is able to accomplish.
Marc does outstanding work.
Clement speaks English to mom and French to dad? Perfect. He will have two languages with the accent of each!! And it will be easier to process in his brain because of th associations with each parent and their native language. Later on, he will be able to learn other associated languages easily. Bravo!

You are very lucky to have the stone mason. It also makes him feel wanted. Nice guy with so much knowledge.
He's actually not a stone mason and just helps us work the land, but he's so familiar with the stones that he works on many of our walls, especially in the gardens!
Your knowledge of plants is so extensive. Lotus is one of my most favorite water plants….I have them in my ponds.❤

The cast iron drain is a great addition for the greenhouse. It will look really pretty together with the new tiles.

You can clean up that drain cover with white vinegar and salt and scrub it. Then coat it with flax seed oil. When the oil dries put another coat on. Then just add a coat periodically to keep it sealed. If it is cast iron better to protect it from rust as much as you can.

Wow what a selection of drill bits you have Marc I bet Chateau de Colombe would be amazed. Impressive but bet your hands hurt after that such an amazing skillset you have both of you have such adaptability is genius levels. Mosaic aquatic leaf is also beautiful in ponds but not sure it's readily available in France.

Yes the one he cut the lotus out of in this episode. Plus an identical one just down beneath it on the next terrace.
Does Marc name any of his plants?
Not that I'm aware of. But maybe he does and he keeps it secret!
Does it collect water?
I think it's being pumped in from a spring?
The plastic cistern we buried will be filled by pipes from our springs.
