Rebuilding this wrecked Aston Martin vantage has been a journey itself. But now its time to make it my own before taking it on a roadtrip of a lifetime! First thing is an Exhaust upgrade. Alot of parts were not available for the aston exhaust so i had to improvise and customise. But the end result is immense!

I really liked the sound of the stock car. Very powerful sound. Much better than its c63 counterpart. Also the tailpipes are quite fitting imo.

I think the tailpipes need changing slightly bigger and fresher but agree prefer the sound stock.

What I love is you are so hands on with cars AND enjoy driving them, instead of just collecting them. I love the mechanical side, not many other auto tubers do that so it’s a massive neiche, especially in the uk scene

I've recently found your channel and I'm hooked. As a muscle car fanatic from the age of 10, I wanted to work on cars as a career when I left school but for a female, especially in the mid eighties, it was virtually impossible. Like you, I'm self-taught, I only did evening classes for mechanics. You have absolutely smashed it with this build and she sounds incredible. You're an inspiration, you always look outside the box for solutions and don't give up. Your boundless enthusiasm is awesome. Unfortunately my disabilities now mean that I can't do what I used to, but watching you work brings back some great memories for me. Seeing you give this a blow out reminded me of my quarter mile experience with my 6.1 300c SRT8. Never stop doing what you're doing, I for one will continue to watch. 🚘🚘

I'm not overly sure on the exhaust it sounds amazing but an Aston Martin is supposed to be a refined sports car and not sound like some v8 yank tank

Yeah must admit… a little bit tractor-y on idle. Love the pops and cracks, but I honestly proffered the stock.

Completely agree , the pressure seems to be too low and the sound is farty . It doesn’t have the crisp raspiness of the C63.
thats what you get when you have a amg engine fitted. the V8 in the vantage for example was astons own creation(well jags) and that sounded much better and equally as aggressive and being a more fit to the image. i dont know what the v8 in the jag F Type is, but sounds better too.

You should gold plate the heat shielding in the engine bay because I think it’s going to look really good and special. Not a big cost.

I agree with you. Straight piping a car in 2022 it’s just not it. Bad for the environment and just a nuisance for everyone around. It’s fun to hear how it should sound but after those 30 seconds it’s just annoying for everyone around. I love cars and how they sound but i absolutely hate when i’m chilling in my house and someone blast their rocket ship sounding car at the middle of the night

Mine has enough trouble putting the 510PS down - spins up the wheels in the dry in 4th gear if you floor it doing 60. 600 must be ridiculous - maybe my tyres are shagged though.

I'm the same way. I too have a 2007 V8 Vantage, and now want to do a couple of things. Already have wheels, so maybe a V12 grille, and somehow update the lacking infotainment system.
@@johnm5562 good luck changing the infotainment 🤣 I purposely don't use mine.. the noise of the V8 is all I need and I can make do using the phone for sat nav 👍
@@DanConroysChannel Thanks Dan! My thought is only changing out the sat nav somehow for a stand alone unit that fits in the same place, and then plays music/sound through the stock radio/CD system. This way I keep the stock system in place, but gain Bluetooth, better navigation, and maybe Carplay. Who know, it might be a pipe dream, and not even possible. 😊

Another example that straight piping never improves the sound. It is just louder. It deletes every sound and leaves simply noise. Sounds more like the the engine is puking all over the place than creating anything special. Love the car and the project though.
Great sounding exhaust work just enough pops but doesn't dilute the engine noise perfect blend

To be perfectly blunt about it, I'm one of those people who finds loud exhausts very annoying. I'd rather have my car be fast and stealthy quiet. The noise of a straight piped engine at full output may dazzle some people but I just want it to stop. Unless it's at an actual race track.

@@Mikey.. Different people have different preferences. I don't want to hear really loud exhausts running up and down city streets, wrecking my quiet summer afternoon whem I'm lazily floating in my pool, even if it's my all-time dream car, a new 911 Turbo S. Or any other time, either.
It's a bit much on a long journey, when you're cruising on a motorway at more or less constant revs. It just drones away and gets annoying after a while but I guess that's where a switchable exhaust comes into it's own
@@Abo999 I have a full straight through from the exhaust manifold back and tbf it's not too bad when you're sitting at 120km/h
@@Mikey.. Depends on the car, exhaust and personal tolerance I guess. I've got a straight through on my dirty diesel and it just sounds a bit deeper and louder when I'm cruising at 70mph. I'm probably getting a bit old lol

It’s doesn’t have any sound or tone to the exhaust at all now dude, just loud noise 😢, sounds like a lorry or a bus 🤷🏻♂️ Maybe try focusing on some induction noise instead of just super loud exhausts ? It Was my favourite car and favourite build up till now 😞

The 2 things Aston Martin do best is how the car looks and how the car sounds, you’ve taken part of that away with what you have done to the exhaust, std exhaust with some induction noise would have been awesome to hear dude 🤙🏻

Glad you did that as the original downpipes have the heat shield on it to protect stuff wires etc, if they had fitted you wouldn’t of had that protection.
