I found a Laguna Seca Blue E46 BMW M3 abandoned on the side of a race track last year. I bought it and decided to restore it, working through all the common problems and some not so common problems. Now the car is ALMOST complete i was invited over by @Drivetribe to the smallest cog workshop so Richard Hammond and his team could check it over and give there opinion on it. What an opportunity!

How could you not, anyone who grew up watching Top Gear is bound to have a fond spot for Hammond, May and Clarkson……and Richard is a really down to earth guy.
What I will say is that my impression of Richard Hammond before this was that he is a down to earth guy that knows all about cars and engineering. For him to get involved with this channel which hasn't got a million subscribers yet but soon will have. To me proves that he is exactly what I already thought top man. Great footage thanks.

Hammo’s going / gone broke!! He sold of all his collection of car’s and bikes to keep his garage open. Hammo is smart by getting the young exposure through this channel!! Don’t get me wrong I love Hammo always have and I think it was a case of corona sank him! I genuinely hope he turns everything around and wonderful success.

I got the opposite impression, it felt like this was a contractual obligation for him and he just winged it, he was acting a bit elite with what he said and how we carried himself. It didn’t look like much was offered in terms of him giving up a lot of his time for this. His team looked over the car which took an hour and Richard probably gave 10 mins of filming then went back to his day to day. Mat deserves more

First let me say I've been a fan this channel for a while and really appreciate the enthusiasm you bring to restoring and modifying automobiles. Massive props Mat. Big fan! With that said, I'd like to state that one of these days it would be truly awesome to see Mat along with Richard Hammond and James May doing a show where they review cars from around the world and give their impressions from restored mint, restomod and full blown custom. I think the dynamic would be so fun to witness! Just imagine!

Just found you Matt. Love the videos. The rear abs sensor was a lot of money and was damaged because the abs ring had expanded due to corrosion. The new one isn't going to last long. That said, you've got a new subscriber.

Just a heads up they are non M3 wheel hubs/bearings that you fitted. They will fit the stub axles, as they did but are incorrect for the car. For one they are missing the locating lugs. 🤷♂️

Laguna Seca Blue e46 M3. This has been my favorite car for a decade. Not sure I'll ever own one, but this car is amazing.
Can see Hammond's Chevrolet and Clarkson's Le-Seyde in the reflection of the VW from the latest Grand Tour at 10:30, no wonder you weren't allowed to film behind you!
