  • “He’s the favourite, with a big FTP” … says Glen, who opened up the race by doing 380W for half an hour 😬

    • @@roebbiej yup! When I started to train properly after completing 4 full training programs i boosted my "coffe ride ftp, I ride without the reason and structure" which was around 230-240 wattts at 75 kg (i was boxing for many years before so I was always in some kind of shape) to 320 watts at 72 kg. Now when I ride the same climbs from year and a half ago I can't really comprehend how huge the difference a proper training makes. The hills I struggled with are now a walk in a park, my HR barely goes up.

    • They knew, i think these guys lost the race before it even started. If they wanted the win they should've attacked the winner from the first moment on in the race. They instead waited and let the winner take control of the race by letting him using his strongest ability. I think the sentiment was more that a military employee had to win the bike race instead of anyone else and therefore they lost the championship even before the race even started. I was more than willingly to work with one of these guys if they wanted to make a deal :-). Obviously they werent in any state to prevent the guy from winning. I definitly would not care a single bit if only i could grab the jersey, that is all what matters in a (national) championship.
