Child Screams For Most of 8-Hour Long Flight

We've all been in the situation of flying with a fussy child or sitting next to one on a plane. Just last week this mom got national attention when she was kicked off a United Airlines flight because her baby was crying. The Vancouver-bound plane carrying Canadian singer Sarah Blackwood and her son hadn't even taken off when the trouble began. Sarah admits little Sebastian was screaming loudly. #InsideEdition
I got annoyed after 5 seconds of hearing the kid... imagine 8 hours
I would request a parachute.
I have a headache just from watching this video

Flight should not have taken off. They should have been asked to leave the flight. I'd rather have a delay then listen to him.
I think I'd rather flap and try and make it a go of it on my own.
You find these same parents in restaurants with kids who don't know how to behave in public. When I said my parents wouldn't go anyplace nice until my sister and I knew how to behave in public, and of course, we got spankings for acting out.
That happened quite a few years back on a flight from London to South Africa. The kid was part of a custody battle and was being repatriated to be with his biological parents in SA after being taken to the UK by an "adoptive" parent. He screamed so much because he didn't want to go the Captain refused to take off. I think in the end they agreed on some kind of shared custody.
dude this was 6 years ago. what any of us has to say about it now is rendered absolutely futile.
Exactly, get the brat off..
If you know your child behaves like this, don't go on transatlantic flights with him until he's older. Simple as that. It's pure selfishness.
I think he does this too in restaurants, cinema, in a train, on the street, at home....😅😅😅
So is flying when you have a cold or the flu or covid. But everyone did it because they really wanted to get somewhere.
How do propose they cross the ocean then, swim? It could have just been a skippable vacation or they could have had a real need.
@@Snicklebeckfirst follow a parenting course and or see a therapist with your child, then fly overseas. Although swimming might help him get rid of some of that excess energy.
@@goldeagle8051 And whose to say she didn't? Your assumption that she must be a bad mom is unfair. Notice there is no mention of dad anywhere in this article. Although I do not know the situation and neither do you, I think a likely scenario is that this is a single mom trying to raise her child AND work full time. She probably has less time to try and parent if she's gone for 40 hours a week.
“The one time when we needed a Karen. She was nowhere to be seen”

“Hey why not let him go out? It would be a good idea”
Maybe thrown him out of plane might be not good idea, but if I'm in that plane, I can't stand it anymore
I couldn't agree more. If only the law against murder would condone it this one time and make this one exception.
also, if only there is way to make the strong cabin pressure when opening the door affect only this boy and no one else on board.

An iPad in cases like this is perfectly fine and understandable, it’s when they start to use it at home to keep them quiet that it becomes an issue.
@@prodChristo9her Yeah but the fact thaht she was asking for wifi for the Ipad alludes to the fact the they use the Ipad for everything, and now that it's the only thing that can calm the kid down.
@@hunacean it doesn’t necessarily, in this case if my child was behaving like that in a public space and I was unable to calm them down but I had an iPad on hand I too would probably utilise it. I have a grown son with autism, & when he was a baby & young one we had situations where we had to fly with him. Whether the mother has had her son diagnosed yet we don’t know, but this type of behavior is classic for most types of autism. She knows her son, just as I know mine, & I bet she anticipated this behavior (anything outside of their normal environment or routine is very scary & upsetting to the child) so I wonder WHY she didn’t do what we did? We anticipated problems & went to our pediatrician. We were going from NY to Seattle & needed him to SLEEP as much as possible. We were advised to put him in his car seat which is familiar & comforting & gave us a prescription for a strong sedative. It went great- both trips. We did have to buy him a seat, but it had to be done. He only cried on takeoff. The rest of it felt like a long car trip & after sleeping many hours he ate & played. I’m shocked the mother didn’t anticipate this. Sounds like she’s in denial. I’m sympathetic but she should have at least bought him a seat & put him in a car seat. As a passenger I would’ve lost my mind!
When you look at the costs of healthcare in USA, you can understand why she did not "anticipate".
I was just about to post this. I think he's on the spectrum for sure. I agree with your solution.
I don’t think pumping your kids with drugs is an answer here.
Maybe because she's naturally selfish and narcissist and thinks the world is unfair so she wanted to do an act of revenge and she felt relieved by making other people have a taste of what she goes through.
Lazy ass parents the world over claiming their kids have autism. It's people like this that have taken the severity of autism away from the FEW people who actually have it.
Bad terrible mother, she should be charged with disturbing the peace.

That must have been an absolute freaking nightmare. Had this happen at a restaurant. Completely ruined dinner. I can’t believe the parents just let it happen and ignored it like it was normal.
I've seen that nowadays parents don't even care. Sometimes, they even get aggressive when people complain. I'm very sensitive to noise. I can't even imagine if I could had keep calm.

Did a "parental expert" just suggest giving your child an iPad to shut them up? Interest times we live in.
It's not like she's saying you should do it all the time. In these types of situations it's not a bad idea.
At that point just give the mf anything to shut him up
The mother of that child has no right taking that screaming child anywhere let alone on a trans Atlantic flight to NY. She should be ashamed of herself and her child.
Imagine thinking to yourself, “Yea my kid has behavioral issues, I’ll just take him on an 8 hour plane ride.”
Stupid parents that all
Its not that easy. My sister moved internationally and she has a autistic son. He is extremely unpredictable. If you have no other choice but to fly, then it just has to be done. What should she have done? Give him up for adoption because she didnt want to ruin people's flight? I know it sucks, but it's a part a life.
@@healyrose4957 no, you medicate the child for the duration of the flight. Nothing wrong w some melatonin and Benadryl
And she has round trip tickets! Airlines should have a sealed compartment for these kinds of parents....kids. Not pleasant for everyone on the flight. It could have escalated if there was a ....on board. Mother...wake up. He’s got issues because of you!
If the child is so "unpredictable" go to the doctor and get him something to make him SLEEP. Benadryl works wonders

Noise pollution is a much bigger problem that people want to admit. Bad parenting too for that matter. If I were on that flight I would sue the airline not only for my ticket price but also for unusual pain and suffering. And I've never sued anyone before in my life. I just couldn't stand being in that situation. It would literally drive me crazy.
If I were the pilot, I would make an emergency landing and give everyone free first class

Okami Jubei yep a really bad one
Aside the fact the kid was screaming, Can we imagine the passengers hearing a child scream for 8 HOURS!
I always bring my earplugs... for situations like this
earplugs might help a LITTLE
I have a 4 year old brother, so that is normal to me lmao
I would ask the person next to me to snap my neck
I was actually on a flight like this from Paris to Atlanta, Ga. The child was in the seat in front of us, and she roped her little brother into it too. At one point the yunger brother stopped, but the girls continued, having screamed and cried for literally 3 hours straight. The flight attendent came by more than once trying be polite, but also get the point across to stop screaming. Her father eventually took her to the bathroom, tired and exasperated, and asked her what she wanted. She screamd, "I DON'T KNOW!" The whole plane could hear her tantrum for the flight so far. Around 4 hours into the flight she stopped and I instantly fell asleep.
Bad parenting and should be charged and never allowed on any public transportation until she does her job as a mother!!
“He has behavioural problems” - Not good enough damn it, not good enough!
I would understand a baby crying but this is unacceptable. Nobody wants to hear that for 8 hours.
Gibb3x x3 yes. I’ve travelled a lot, as my husband is an Aussie and I’m English, so every year I go to visit family from Australia to England. Babies cry, and it’s fine. This isn’t a baby. Surely the parent knew he’d be a nightmare? Some mild sedative would have settled him down for a while and given EVERYONE a break from him. He’s obviously hyperactive, ADHD, or just not disciplined. I’ve had my children fly long haul when they were young, and never would I have allowed this. It’s unfair to others.
Pommie bears wow such an armchair psychologist
Viking Dogmanship who said he was a baby? That’s a child... far from a baby.
misunderstanding there. Still unacceptable if he is 3
Viking Dogmanship Eh, 3 year olds should know how to properly behave at home and in public, but they’re still technically babies in my eyes. I mean a 3 year old will cry if they’re hungry or something like that and it’s ok but a 3 year old shouldn’t go 8 hours screaming and crying like that 8 year old boy now that is unacceptable.
No one had the balls to scream back. Shame.

No no. lol you want to be sent to jail? Christ. You're crazy.
Or the mind. Theres a woman eho scream back at a baby and she sound crazy and I be embarassed if that was me being recorced and being seen and look by other passenger. Its not very whats the word? A good action? An action that will not dishonour your familu or fsthet name.
We all would have screamed back lmao

If your kid needs an iPad to stop screaming, you did something wrong as a parent.
