2010 BCS National Championship - Alabama Crimson Tide (1#) vs Texas Longhorns (2#)

2014 ж. 22 Ақп.
917 305 Рет қаралды

After completing an undefeated regular season by besting their division rivals LSU and Mississippi State. Then defeating their most bitter rival Auburn in a highly contentious Iron Bowl. And dominating the seemingly invincible Florida Gators with their Heisman Trophy winning quarterback. The Alabama Crimson Tide certainly earned their spot in the BCS National Championship at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California where they faced off against the Texas Longhorns. The game started out good but things took a shocking turn when a big hit knocked Texas quarterback Colt McCoy out of the game for good. Alabama went on to easily claim a National Championship and complete Alabama's re-emergence as the premier college football program in the land.

    • @@Fultonfalcons86 Most coaches understand the fact that almost no lead is safe until you get to the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter & you have the ball on a 1st &.10. Look at what Cam Newton & Auburn did to Bama in 2010. Winning by 4 TD's going into the 4th quarter & still lost. Idk, why or how it happens BUT ever since I was young, I've almost always known when Bama was going to lose & manage to not watch the game because of it. Because Auburn had a chance at a Natty, I knew Bama was going to lose that game. The 2 Ole Miss loses, I was just busy & didn't see the games. Same with the loss to "Johnny Football" & aTm. But that loss to Urban & Ohio State & the 2nd Natty against Clemson, I had no doubt Bama was going to lose both of those games & I made sure I was busy during both games so I wouldn't be tempted to watch them lose. And the 2017 Auburn loss, I knew that one too, & I thought it was going to put Bama out of the playoff too. I had stopped paying attention til I heard Bama & Georgia was both in the Natty. And that one, I had no doubt Bama would win. I don't think Georgia has ever beaten Nick Saban at Alabama. And if they did, it was in his first 3-4 years. 2007 or 2010.

    • @Tim Polcyn Nope. And to be honest, glad I missed it! Idk what it is, but I always seem to NOT be watching when Bama loses. I was out & about trying to accomplish some things, & I tried to watch it with the CBS app on my phone. But the stupid app would show commercials just fine, no problem. But then during the game it would stop during the middle of each & every play. I could watch commercials & the beginning of plays but I didn't get to see the end of any plays. Even with a fast wifi it would do the same crap. But anyway, that's one of the main reasons I watch KZhead. Is cuz I missed the game & want to see it. Don't think I'll be reviewing this one though. BUT a friend told me he was watching & said in the second half Bama had gotten 1st & goal at the 3 yard line & threw all 3x's. I didn't see the game so I have no idea WHY they wouldn't choose to run the ball in that situation. But if they passed 3x after having a 1st & goal, that is on O'Brien I would think. And in my honest opinion, that is horrible play calling when you have Robinson & a massive offensive line! And if they score a TD in that situation instead of a Field goal, that's the difference in the game. However, with Saban talking about the fact the Aggies just lost 2 games in a row & it being a "trap game"... Saban IS AN INCREDIBLY SMART MAN!!! Maybe, Nick knows this team is NOT determined enough to win a Natty or even a SEC Championship. Maybe, he saw them losing somewhere along the way, & in seeing it, figured that MAYBE if they lost NOW, the team might grow enough determination & balls to go the rest of the season undefeated, in thinking that, he sort of pushed them in that direction & at the same time threw Jimbo Fisher a bone. Plus, there is also the probability that the Aggies lost their last 2 games before Alabama cuz they were preparing to play Alabama the whole 3 weeks. Idk if I believe any of that myself, but I do know that I had HOPED that this team COULD go undefeated & finally give Saban & Alabama a 29 game winning streak & then maybe more next year BUT I knew in my heart this team would NOT be able to do it. Maybe this is the year that Georgia finally comes thru & wins a Natty. I actually thought that when they upset Clemson in the opening game. But Bama's close call at the Swamp, I was thinking maybe that would light a fire under the teams arse' but evidently it wasn't enough. They better watch themselves cuz the rest of the schedule ain't an easy one. And Auburn ain't going to be a pushover at home, especially with a QB that's already won & lost an Iron Bowl.

  • That Texas D came to play. With the early Bama turnovers, if Colt was playing it probably would have been 14-0 or 10-0 at worse. The playoff before halftime doesn’t happen. Bama was 1-10 on 3rd down. Texas was sacking McCelroy left and right. If Colt was in there extending drives they wouldn’t have been so tired. They finally broke down when the offense couldn’t do anything and they defense was on the field so much.

Colt has been semi prone to injury his entire football career and always ran, so it's not likely that Colt would've been injured at any time during this game. That being said, how can Bama fans truly believe they would've won with Colt playing. Texas was driving and going to score one way or another on that first drive and there was no doubt Texas was going to do it all night long if he didn't get hurt. Congrats to Bama.
