When James Evans died and Florida was on that phone I felt that pain with her It gives me goosebumps thinking about it. and this is what they give us for a remake. This breaks my heart in a whole different way. You can give this any other name and let it be its own thing.
I guess this is a reimagined sequel. 🤷🏽♀️ In the original series finale the Evans family and Willona and Penny moved out of public housing and bought houses next to each other. They also tore down Cabrini Green - the buildings in the opening and closing credits I believe - so that apartment, technically speaking, doesn’t exist anymore. But it’s TV - you can make anything up.

I’m a white man that group up in a predominantly white community in a home with a single mother working sometimes 3 jobs at a time to keep us fed and living indoors. Even through all that she made time to teach my sisters and I good morals, the value of hard work and that a family sticks together no matter what. I say all that so you understand my position on this show. I started watching reruns of Good Times when I was probably 8 years old. The Evans family was the first black family I watched on television with any regularity, even before the Huxtibles. What I remember seeing on that program along with the jokes I may not have always gotten and the experiences that were not quite like my own was a family that did what needed to be done everyday regardless of what tragedies befell them. They stuck together, did the right things and tried to make it. And I saw a commonality between the Evans family and my own. Obviously our experience wasn’t identical but the show taught me that at the family level we are all just people doing our best to take care of the ones we love. This trailer is so astoundingly offensive I honestly can’t put it in words. Every person connected to this show should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. This is an absolute disgrace. I would guess at this point the only reason the comments are still on is in the hopes that people will hate watch it the way they did Velma. It seems obvious that there is zero interest in creating programming that brings us together as a society anymore.

We're part to blame. We never demonize the Blacks that misrepresent us the way we demonize Whites just for being White...
@Mirage475 I understand what you are saying, but hood culture and Black culture are not the same. Unfortunately, a lot of people think they are the same.
Good times cartoon broke the barrier on TV, Mike wrote this up and it already made 600 billion
Netflix presents- "How to make fun of black people and pretend it is a show for black people - The Animation". Am I the only one who wants to spy on the netflix meetings and listen to them, while they discuss which show they should release and why? :D :D :D
White people have been saying that with the diversity nonsense. Sit down and shut up
Same. I wish someone would record and leak one of those meetings. . . WTF were they thinking? 🤦🏾♀️
@@zxyatiywariii8 They don't. Netflix like most companies, are woke. Progressive company with progressive ideals. This is an all black cast and writers except maybe McFarlane who is also a liberal as most people in Hollywood and blacks in general. So, Netflix not wanting to be racist probably gives blacks and other "minorities" like gays, asians, hispanic license to do whatever they wants while the white dudes at the top keep their noses out of the productions so as not to get backlash from white bashing media and twitter users or youtube comments. And this is they shit they come up with. So this is on black people. Asians do their own shit like Squid Games, anime, etc and they have their industry in their home countries that doesn't need to pander and go by quotas to please other races or whatever. But in the west, you have to play by the rules and please the investment companies and the new Diversity Equity and Inclusion or DEI gods in the name of tolerance and progression. The end product is usually a mess that looks "racist" created by the same people that politically align with left wing politics that constantly bash "le ebil hecking right wingers" while at the same time not realizing how stereotype and racist a lot of the shit they do comes off and as always the left ends up eating itself by being attacked by their own side.
But it was created and written by black people. Seth McFarland is just the producer
Hey, Dave Chappelle made fun of you all the time, but thats OK I guess. (Why do black ppl smoke menthol?)
This is a slap in the face to every black person that has ever existed......This is like if a production company just took every racial stereotype ever and said "Let's use them all"
Yeah and if that wasn’t bad enough, if you look past the terrible writing you can see how shit the animation is. The characters are so stiff and lifeless, the way their bodies jerk around makes it look like an early 2000s flash animation. Actually no, flash animations back then were MUCH smoother than this.
That's what they did.....while their Miley Cyrus', Taylor Swifts and JLo's of the world look like princeses.
@@Randomyoutuber-4831 they didn't care when they put this all together. The ones they found to do the voice overs aren't even top notch.....they ok but nope they not top tier.
Name me one black comedy that does not have any stereotypes in it
@@convertakill2max there’s a difference between using stereotypes as satire and plastering them on every available surface.
Did yall ever watch the Boondocks?
I want to know how they captured north Houston so perfectly
Man the boondocks predicted this shit
Exactly!!! Huey warned us!
That's why that show was so successful! The Boondocks literally made fun of stuff like this, that stereotypes us!! Smh
Can anyone reference when they did?
@@Tortilla.Reform Alot of parts in the show mock BET and the stereotypical depiction of blacks on television

the disrespect of an iconic show
Yeah dude. Total not what good times is about. Take the name and create what ever this is
Right like the whole thing of good times was that the family was getting out of the projects and bettering their lives. This outright spits in the face of all the progress that was made throughout the original series
Welcome to the party pal
Which character is supposed to be James and Florida’s grandson? Which one is his dad?
Ahhhh, this was what Dave Chapelle was talking about when he decided to quit his show, huh
Reporter: What inspired you to turn Good Times into a negative stereotyping animated series? Netflix: Money.
Yup. Pretty much. I think the show was pretty much completed before they decided to slap the good times name on it. So disrespectful
No matter what they called it it's disrespectful. It's garbage being thrown at us. They may as well call it Amos and Andy 2.0
Not really the one to clarify, how major businesses like Netflix does business but, let me play "devils advocate" for once.. lol Netflix doesn't, come up with a show's idea. They buy into them. That being said, this probably would be a, bad investment, on their part. 😂😂
@@jashanestone let's band together and make sure it's a bag investment

I know Cosby messed up in his personal life but the lessons we learned from Cliff, Claire, Denise, Theo, Vanessa and Rudy were ones I share with my sons to this very day. This is not funny, educational nor entertaining. This hurts.
What about Sondra, Olivia, Elvin, Cockroach and Cousin Pam🤔
*The Cosby Show* promoted classism and ableism. Cosby‘s personal life aside, even his public persona is responsible for promoting childhood obesity by shilling for Coca-Cola and Jell-O.
Cosby show wasn’t realistic , and didn’t reflect the actual black American experience
That is soo not true, there are black families where both parents went to college and had professional jobs whether it is two doctors, Dr and lawyer, minister and teacher, etc. So don't reduce us to only one type of family.
@@DelvisLatraLive those were not the core characters in the show. When Denise left they brought in Sandra and her family, which before thar, I never knew she existed. And as the Cosby kids grew up and left home they brought in Cousin Pam, etc.
Damn we're going to the liquor store for this one homies.
To anybody in question; This is nothing like the boondocks.
I always wondered what a minstrel show would look like in 2024. Part of me thinks this is an early April Fools joke.
Definitely a minstrel show
If it’s a joke it ain’t funny, but I feel relieved all the same
The big riddle for the century has to be how they got the talented cast and crew who are better off working on something else rather than this to join this cheap low level cash grab of a show.
@@ramirezproductions0826 I think they’ll end up really regretting it. Yvette Nicole Brown is in the denial phase right now and trying her best to do damage control.
