They tried to make into their own show, with a dark, and a more serious tone, also with a bit of homage tribute to the original show with actors/actresses like Tatyana Ali as an example even though she played a different character. It fits.... I really, I just want them to add some humor to it and not to be taken so seriously all the time.

Netflix need to take it off the air. This NOT the family show of Good Times , it's so misleading to people who have never saw the show. PLEASE TAKE IT DOWN.....
Every show on Netflix comes with information including: its genre, maturity rating and reasons why the show got its maturity rating. So according to Netflix, Good Times is TV-MA which is for mature audiences only. It says Good Times is an Adult Animation TV Comedy that contains gore, nudity, smoking, violence and profanity. Nowhere in its info tab does it claim that it’s supposed to be a family show. The show itself or Netflix’s description is not the problem. The problem is that some people made the assumption that this Good Times reboot was going to be, or it just ought to be an animated retelling of the original.

I honestly think his widow and son had more to do with this than he did. Seems like they were just using Norman as a figurehead to justify their reboots of the shows copyrighted to either Tandem Licensing Company or ELP Communications. Yet the only time they even bothered to ask original cast members to come back to their old shows in anything other than a cameo was to bring back a show where the casting was a huge part of the problem (among other things): *wh’s th bss.* Their standards dropped precipitously within five years of *Good Times* going off the air.

I think that was just an easy profession to come up with for the show at the time. I'm not sure how realistic that is. it takes almost a decade to study to be a surgeon, then you need to train as an assistant, etc. very few people of any ethnicity or color would want that. plus you still need to go for an interview, etc., all the blood splatters, cutting people up, and all that, etc., it is not an easy thing to do. It takes a lot of money and time before you can even hope to enter that field. very few people would want to study and wait that long. you say you want it as a kid, but it isn't easy to accomplish. I get what you are saying though. it seems they aren't progressing forward in this cartoon show at all. I don't think you should be ashamed of any type of work you do though.

I watched Good Times growing up. I’ve seen what this reboot is. It’s disgustingly racist! And I’m a 60+ white woman, who loved the original. I would’ve absolutely loved to see JJ,Thelma, Michael, and Penny…..( the only ones left from the cast) come back, as grandparents and great uncles. Instead of this garbage!
