    • I saw her in person at a soul music festival and few years back and let me tell you, tv and photos don’t do this woman justice. I was in absolute awe looking at how much this woman made this think that perfection looked like her. Yes I was stuttering and drooling🤣🤣🤣

  • I enjoyed the interview. Met her when she came to Metropolitan Apostolic Church to meet with Dr. Leon Finney in Chicago. We said hello as I was walking by. I backed up after it registered who she was and I said, Thelma!! And she said yes and we hugged. I told her that I had just watched Good Times that past weekend. She was beautiful, sweet, and down to earth.

  • The only woman that can take me from Symphony... ❤... Side note: While serving in the military, Bernnadette was in WA state signing books and I was thrown off because it was unexpected... I panicked and called my wife... the next day, my wife went to the location and BS happened to still be there... my wife (who os a foreigner and became a fan of Good Times thanks to me) approached BS and said my husband has been a fan of yours for YEARS!!! He saw you the other day, panicked and called me... can I have your autograph? BS was like sure!!! Who do I make it out to? My wife says (her name)...😮BS was like how about I write it to you and your husband... long stort short... she saved my marriage that day!!! ❤

  • Typecasting is a real thing… I remember when I saw the movie Malcolm X… Raj from the show What's Happening popped up, and half of the theater yelled, Where is Rerun….🤣… it took a moment to get back into the movie..seemed everyone became typecast as I don't remember any other roles for the entire cast..

  • Good interview. I figured she might have exited tv to do some stage work, which is what Ralph Carter did, and who also did a play with John Amos a little over 20 years ago, I think as father and son. Still though it would have been nice to see her at least a few movies during the 80s, sometime after the show ended. But I get it, when a person needs a break, they need a break.
