The GSP 500 has all of the amazing features I loved from the GSP 600 but with an open-back design. But which one should you buy?

I just picked up the Sennheiser GSP 600 yesterday and I'm loving them so far.
I would love if you would make more videos about budget tech! I loved your Drevo Calibur video! Keep up the amazing work But please keep making these videos about "flagship" devices too!
Articulated yourself very nicely, and covered details that were pertinent- sub earned! Thanks
very helpful video, thanks mate!
Thanks it's 2nd viable video I found whole youtube
I have the GSP600. Got it as a pre-order. It's great for gaming. Sounds awesome. But it does clamp pretty hard over time. But I'm having an issue with the left can, with the sound sometimes going out. I think it's the audio cable connected to the left side. Not sure if I can get them serviced my Senheisser due to the repair place not working on things due to Stay at Home. So I might just order another pair, or try the GSP500s. Decisions decisions. :)
I had the gsp 350, closed headset with the usb surround dongle, after one year i got the GSP 500, because i want an open build headset, and its fantastic, and i can use the usb surround dongle from my GSP350. On Sennheiser Page i bought the earcaps from the 600, and put it on my 500, and yes, its a really good choice, thanks for your Video .
Tkohr78 any updates??? How does is the sound! I also have GSP 350 and was wondering how the surround sound is on the GSP 500! Is it better?!??? Would you recommend it?
I have the GSP 600 and I found them to be really good with competitive gaming, such as games with fortnite and BF1, I’m Into gaming like that would it benefit me to get the 500? I only have experience with closed back headphones
Having just purchased the GSP 500 i would say i am very happy with my purchase. They're super comfortable. I have heard the GSP 600 is too rigid and "grabs" your head too strongly for comfort in long gaming sessions.
i'm about to get one and i'm curious about it will leak some noise because it's a open back headset. For example will my teammates hear my game noises from the mic?
@@abbaese3613 No i have not found that to be an issue, the mics got some sound cancellation included, besides you can always set the mic threshold higher if you ever feel its bleeding through.
@@fuckyougoogle3328 I bought a pair awhile back and I tried closed back headset. I want to get the 500s again but mine were super uncomfortable, didn't have em long. Did I not give them enough time to break in? Edit: I have a small skull
@@muffin70507 I cant deny on long gaming sesions i do need to adjust the angle on the 500s from time to time as it does get slightly too grabby. If you do decide to give it another shot, some people suggest you can get them "loosened up" by putting them on a box or chair and leaving it for a bit.
Hi great video! can you compare which is better between these and Steelseries 7p? thanks
Thank you!
My PC360s have been going strong for 6.5 years and I have no need for new headsets..., but man, I think I want a set of these.
I am in the same boat, I have PC363. Did you end up upgrading? Was it worth it?
@@michaelmckay I actually am now on the HD660s! So much better for music and gaming!
@@JustinHEMI05 thank you! Looking into that now!
@@michaelmckay I should mention that I also got the Sennheiser dac/amp to drive them.
@@JustinHEMI05 Yes, that helps I have an astro mixamp Thank you again!!
Good video m8 :)
Would the GSP 500 work for occasional LAN Parties or will I not be able to pinpoint enemies with the ambient noise?
TY FOR THE REVIEW, love em , i just need help on 1 thing, on quality , do i set 24 bit 98khz ? or less, or more xD, PLS HELP
I'm sold on the construction quality here, and i like the open design, but what about the sound quality? Highs/ Lows/ mids, etc., are there separate drivers?
I paired mine with GSX 1000 amp. The amp makes a huge difference. highs/lows/mids all sounds clear and very high quality. This is the best sound quality I've ever heard coming from headphones.
Low audio on the gsp 500 just got em and the audio is low asf but when i try my old headphones everything is fine, any fix someone???
GSP 500 is awesome with the GSX1000 but my gawd are the earpads terrible! they should have used memory foam! but none the less I ordered third party PU leather memory foam pads and its incredible! I would have gotten the OEM GSP600 but didnt like that they had a microfiber material and was 30+..... but maybe ill get them too
What is the soundstage comparable too? 558? 598?
hd58x (i think?)
Hi TF, loool 😂 it was funny that a few days ago I was watching your review of the 600’s, and I asked you about doin a vid on the 500’s, aaaaand “B O O M there it is” .....”hmmm”... sounds like something MC HAMMER would say 🤣 I’m liking the subtle video effects you put into this video this time around. And as usual, great lighting, intro, as well. But that’s nothing new for you and you know that. After hearing your review on these cans, I’m confident I made the right choice. The deciding factor for me, was 4 things; 1. I needed an expensive pair of open back cans that gets good reviews. (I already have 2 closed back cans, the Bose QC25’s, and the Sennheiser Momentums. 2. It needed to be a low impedance otherwise I would not be able to run them with my GSX1000 3. Now that I have the Mayflower ARC, I have all my bases covered because this amp will drive any cans up to 600 ohms. I should be getting that amp next weekend 4. I wanted to get a premium set of cans that would play well
Why u calling them cans tho.
SavageCabbageYT headphones are usually called cans in the audiophile language for high end areas
im concerned about my team mates hearing in game noise feeding into the mic from the open back design. Is this something to worry about?
Highly unlikely, I have the game ones and they're open back, unless you listen to deafeningly loud audio, the mic won't hear a thing. The mics on these are the best I've found across the board.
Had this headset and unfortunately there was audio leaking into the mic.
Nah unless u fucking having some kind party next to u
Will the GSP 500 work with the astro mixamp 2019 edition?
As long as a 3.5mm jack cable is supported, I do believe so
Yes that's one of my set up !👍
The audio quality or this versus the Hyper X Revolver?
if you want real audio quality (and mic quality as well) steer away from these gaming garbage and buy true studio headsets like an Audio Technica for example the ATH-G1 or a Beyerdynamic like the Custom Game. Both sounds miles better than any of the GSPs or any gaming headset. If you really really want Hyperx go with the Cloud Orbit - which is about the same as a GSP 600, the Revolver is even worse than the Cloud Alpha.
Great comparison. I'm really wanting a pair, but the price? Still a little to much.
$150 on BestBuy website right now. Just ordered a pair. If they don't do as well as I'm assuming, switching them out for the Cloud Alphas S
Bro 150€/$ is not to much for really good Headphones
I tried both the gsp 500 and 600 on a PC with a good sound card. The gsp 500s for some reason sound really poor, they also do not sound loud enough. My Plantronics Rig 500 esl open back sound a lot better. The gsp 500 earcups are also uncomfortable.
If the GSP 500 did not sound loud enough, you dont have a "good sound card" to drive them properly as you said - That even can affect the sound quality.
@@BloPsy__ It is an Asus Xonar DX2. It is good enough.
@@BloPsy__ As a matter of interest, looking at the Sound Blaster g6 or AE 5 plus. What would you suggest?
@@blesner1983 The Asus xonar D2X is quite old isn't it? Since you're saying that it sounds poor and quiet it seems like the sound card doesn't have the power to drive the headset properly - maybe only additional AMP would be enough, but you would need to test it. I would go with G6 since it's external and it can be used with a console if you have one. If you're not interested in 7.1 tho, it's kinda throwing money out of a window. Something like Schiit fulla 3 would be enough than - I actually use that DAC/AMP for my GSP 500 and it can drive them to uncomfortable volumes with great audio quality.
Are the hinges all 4 of them made of Metal or are they Made of Plastics ?
They are metal on both
Are they an upgrade from the Game One?
Yes
The GSP 500 sound is worst
I have a GSP 300. I'm happy enough.
*i recommend these headsets with the gsp 600 earcup attachments you can buy separately. and the GTX 1000 external device is a requirement if you want to get the full surround sound experience, but it is also required if your motherboards sound card is not a premium one that can dishout the required ohms*
What's the noise canceling of the microphone like (i game in a living room and need a lot of canceling to not have the conversation of my family send to my friends)
Sennheiser GSP 500 or Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX ?
I've read mixed reviews for the GSP 500. If you can get yours hands on the Massdrop one, go for it :)
Why dont you mic check!
I have the gsp 350 and the game zero best headsets I ever used does open backs really make a huge differents ?
Watching this video with the GSP 500, and the memory foam pad, and the GSX 1000 amp.
Hey buddy, im thinking about buying your combo, gsp 500 + gsx 1000, could you tell me how is the sound while listening to music? Is it any good for listening music? I listen to basically everything so i dont have one specific genre.
What size are the drivers on the GSP 500?
I currently use a Kraken 7.1, they're super uncomfortable with how tight they are. I last about a hour before i have to give my ears a break and not being able to hear my voice drives me crazy. I usually end up playing with a earcup off my right ear. So Im thinking the 500's are gonna be the way i upgrade.
Yeah the sennheiser ones shold be much better
Does the GSP 500 still have good bass?
1 year later, but better later than never. They probably have less sub-bass due to them being open back, but they probably sound clearer.
Basss fine not sure wtf this kid means I have z390 board which let's me have 32 bits 182khz audio and it sounds crazy smooth balance
is this headset wireless?
no
Well you can remove the wire but then it won't work, so take that as you will.
whats the difference between the Game One and G4me One?
what...?
All good. Same headset, less complicated brand/model name. G4me One came out first a few years ago, then they released Game One.
The G4me one has a non removable cable and are 150ohm impedance. Game ones are 50 ohm and removable cable.
Where tf can i activate the surround sound?!
It doesn't have surround sound built in. I think the 550s do. Unless you use some sort of amplifier, you're stuck with stereo sound
"try them both" dude how hhahaha
Man what a hottie!!
not immersive at all bullshit headset low on bass, it started losing contact where the 3.5 to the headset after a month!! the left side or the mic lost contact from the jack i was really angry and throw them to the floor a couple of times to break the shit out of them, never gonna get another sennheiser product...
qua1ntZz you ok?
@@LFB18 no, why?
Low on bass😂 it's open back duh. Also y break them. You have 2 year warranty
Angry outbursts, where you throw things around after getting whooped in your favorite shooter probably has to do more with the degradation of your head set quality than anything.
@@fuckyougoogle3328 nah, wasnt even playin that day. i was just drunk)
