Discussing the breaking news about EPOS, they will no longer be making gamin headsets. This is a very sad day :(

EPOs were shortlived but loved.
Such a shame! Just bought the Sennheiser/EPOS GSP 600 last week as they had a sale and I love them!
That explains why they were on sale.
too bad the EPOS software is garbage and doesn't detect my GSP 670's ever, I have given up
Love the comfort, the looks and directionality of the green and gold H6Pro Open (+ Earpadz Jerzee). There is something to love about the simplicity of analog plug and play, magnetic removable mic and volume wheel without software. The lack of extra features and software means the headset would be best for kids or people who dont like tinkering, and I think it would be awesome to pick up on sale.
Can i ask which camo did you used?
my shit isn't even working and i got it for christmas today
Thank you for the information and insight.
Huge ouch… A few months ago I recommended a friend to buy the Epos H3 and he loved it. I’m still planning on buying the H6 Pro if my Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro (Wired) breaks.
Been using my Racing Green Epos H6Pro for a number of months now and still enjoying it. My brother also bought one after having tried mine. Hearing this latest development, we both bought back ups before these are gone. Went with the Sebring Black.
Wait so no more getting replacement mics
@@creshaunjohnson477 yup
sad, the h6 pro was amazing and im currently on a mmx300, but would have considered mainly a new epos headset as the next one if this ever breaks.
I'm gonna need a review for the razer hyperspeed that just dropped! the new budget blackshark v2 pro option. Looking forward to it :)
I love my H6 Pro closed back but I’m honestly not surprised at the news based on the current gaming market. Sure they sound great but as mentioned in the video $180 unless on sale for a wired headset with no additional features just doesn’t cut it. Sure you have people that can respect the audio quality and will purchase it but most people want bang for your buck nowadays. They also really should have released wireless versions that worked on all platforms as a lot of people want wireless now. Oh well now the search shall begin for my next wired set.
Hey Techne, would you say these are worth buying for $60? Found this model for a black Friday offer. Also the gsp 500 senheisser for $60 as well.
I am using the H6 pro with GSX 300 + WC freeze pads. I can tell you with 100% honesty It's a fantastic experience. I always prefered wireless headsets but had a lot of trouble with them (all of them has some kind of sickness even EPOS struggled a lot with their wireless lineup), so eventually tried this bundle instead. I fell in love in minutes, the sound quality/balance/mic quality/comfort is top tier. I didn't regret my choice, I will keep it even If I find and buy (cloud III wireless with big sale for example) a very good wireless headset. R.I.P. Epos, Techne said well, this is just sad.
Do you have the open or closed back version?
@@Blaze-mt9ir I have the closed back version.
@@palfotta Cool! What type of games do you play? FPS or open world? How is the sound on it for both types of games? Also, I was looking at the Cloud III wireless and I'm deciding between it and this headset. Which do you think I should get?
Some reviews said they have a software/firmware issue, is this still the case ? and since they're discontinued I won't expect any future updates if an issue pops up and that worries me tbh edit: will it have surround sound with the gsx 300 ? I'm mainly a fps player
@@Blaze-mt9ir It's slightly better for directional audio in tight spaces (FPS) according to most reviewers, whereas something like the PC38x I can attest to being phenomenal in open world games due to the extremely neutral balance and open-back soundscape. Bottom line, the H60 will perform incredibly in fps and get the job done in open world.
Somehow for me, The mic is picking up more noise than I would like them to pick. I sit in a room with a ceiling fan, it just picks up fan noise and produces sound mixed with the disturbance. I Don't know if it's related to bad audio drivers on my laptop or the lack of software for tuning the sound profile/noise suppression
techne please review the redragon h510 zeus x and h520 wired headset , i remember you used to review good budget headset what happened now ?
I've been advising the H6 pro to everyone, I really love this one. This makes me sad :(
I bought my pair for €110 btw, normal price was €180, I found it too expensive at that price too. For around €100-130 it's really good.
Me too. Best gaming headset available
As an assistant director, I can honestly say that email sounds more like they’ve used the pandemic as an excuse Yes the demand during the pandemic would have naturally decreased not just for the gaming market, but for all businesses However, gaming headset market is a super competitive market and it’s obvious the competitors have outsold any offering from Epos This to me sounds like they’re gaming headset sales and profits have significantly decreased since separating from Sennheiser I wouldn’t be surprised if in the future they announce they’re back with Sennheiser again
Of course they were, their products were so overpriced and not worth it tbh.
Couldnt agree more. They made junk and everyone else made better.
They innovated ZERO to what Sennheiser had done, used the same drivers and changed the design, WOW, what a big effort.... Cant be doing nothing as a business and then wonder when sales plummet...Also Sennheiser was KNOWN, why the fuck build a new brand EPOS that no one knows and has no credibility? Whoever managed this disaster....
@@jonm8662 Have you never heard of an assistant director?
In fact the pandemic was the most profitable moment for gaming in years, thousands of people in home with nothing to do and a lot of games to play? The gaming market (and Ikea) got the best scenario possible for months
Had the open back H6Pro's for the past year or so and got the closed back variant after driving myself crazy with the sounds of aircon over the summer, shame they'll be closing down for gaming.
What is the best option to play?
I had the Sennheiser PC 363D for so many years, I almost cried when it broke, I loved it!
That's a really sad news. I have a H6pro and the H3 Hybrid and they're both top quality. From the sound to the comfort, material used and the mic is actually good. I was wondering when they would release a new one and started to research a bit but instead I foudn your video. Thanks for covering it though.
also the fact that you can remove the mic was just really good.
Whew, i bought mine 2 days ago. Got mine just now and get this on my recommendations. Daum
I just bought my H6Pro last May, REALLY LOVE IT. Simple plug and play, no software driver, excellent audio quality. Too bad there would be no more products from them.
Somehow for me, The mic is picking up more noise than I would like them to pick. I sit in a room with a ceiling fan, it just picks up fan noise and produces sound mixed with the disturbance. I Don't know if it's related to bad audio drivers on my laptop or the lack of software for tuning the sound profile/noise suppression.
Mustache is on point bro. Never used a EPOS before. I use the Corsair HS80 and love it.
I bought h6pro closed Jan 2022, still rocking them daily now. Only saw this video today because I'm looking to replace the stock earpads that's starting to wear out and I'm thinking of getting wc freeze with the memory foam. Sad to hear they won't be making these as they've been great for me this past 2 years. Might have to get another pair as backup before stock runs out.
This is really sad. I have been using my GSP 670 when they were 'best' wireless headset for its time - perfect balance of good audio drivers and mic quality. again, for its time. I was really in a hope we might see something new by Epos and this is extremely disappointing. I guess nowadays in order to keep your head above the water you have to get some sort of financial shark, as SteelSeries got saved multiple time, Roccat saved by TurtleBeach, etc etc.. but what's really sad, is in the end of the day, that we just losed a big player to the field, a player with quite high standard, and really decent for its time.
I absolutely love my h6pro wired open back headset. Sad that they'll never release a new version. I'll be rocking these for years
Always wanted to try them green epo headsets
With Epos not making headsets anymore, which set do you recommend?
the pc38x have legendary audio quality and in my opinion are leagues above the rest of the space if you want some audiophile quality cans for regular use with a simple flip down mic when you want to take a call or jump on a game with your boys, so this is a big slap in the arse in my opinion.
this is crazy ..i legit just bought my first pair of epos this morning after doing a bunch of research, from what ive read and heard from several people is that theyre a fantastic brand...what interesting times we live in
Same, just got my GSP670 2 weeks ago, I wonder if they could assign someone to keep track of Firmware / Software updates.
I’ve not seen a stinking cosy video from you in my subscriptions for a while man !!
Why not :(
@@TheTechne KZhead sucking at doing their job as usual :(
I hope Sennheiser would make gaming headsets again. I liket their old design better.
Absolutely love my Game Zeros! I can tell everyone's location easily. Great mic too!
Not surprising that Epos is moving in this direction after Sony acquired Audeze. That split from Sennheiser not looking so smart in hindsight.
Don’t forget turtle beach headset.also are you going to cover hex gaming controller just curious
It's a pity alright. Was hoping for a wireless H6 Pro at some stage. I have the Open back and just bought a Closed back pair for backup. Great headsets.
I just bought the open back H6 pro, are you feeling any pain on the top of your head? Ive noticed some pressure there for me and wasnt sure if anyone else had this issue
@@iamsunz616 nope. Been using the closed H6Pro for a few months now and gamed a few hours.
Epos leaving gaming is a huge blow. Hopefully my green h6pros last forever. I love swapping back and forth between those And my philips x3
I hadn't heard the news on this yet, but I think I might buy an extra pair of the H6pros now as it looks like they dropped the price. I have used mine since they released for both work and gaming, and they're probably dollar for dollar the best gaming headphones out there.
I know they're decent but for a long time I couldn't get over how stupid their brand name is. I mean POS, e-POS, can't get it out my head lol you know what POS is an abbreviation for.
@@GeordiLaForgery Well, epos, or rather ἔπος is the ancient greek word for word, more or less, and nowadays refers mostly to epic poetry. So pretty fitting for an audio company, I'd think
Is it smart to still buy a epos headset? Iw as thinking about the h6pro
I got the h6 pro closed as a gift whilst theyre on discount and they cane broken. The left ear doesnt work, the sound is super quiet on the right and the mic dont work
Sad news. I used the platinum headphones from Ps4 and when I moved to Ps5 I wanted something different and quality and I bought the open green H6 pro. The change is spectacular, the quality of the sound, the sensation of spatiality. Now I'm going to put the Fosi K5 pro DAC on them to have more control over the volume and especially the bass and treble and thus be able to adjust it to my liking depending on the game.
Sennheiser sold Epos. All the Epos headsets were branded Sennheiser before they formed Epos and then sold that branch off. And you forgot Astro, which is really Logitech now.
My Epos H6 Pro open is my main headset, its fantastic! Cant believe the sad news... :(
I bought their H3 Hybrid this January and I have to say I'm very disappointed. My main issue is the connectivity of the headset. When connecting through dongle, it sometimes drops, although it is automatically reconnecting it becomes really annoying when it happens too frequently. Bluetooth connection is also trash. After 6 months of using I just bought cloud 2 wireless.
I think you got the H3 pro hybrids if they came with a wireless dongle and they had onboard blue tooth and ANC/noise canceling. The regular H3 hybrids just have onboard blue tooth and wired connection and than they have the plain wired Epos H3’s that doesn’t have any bells and whistles
I have H3Pro Hybrid, they are so good! Sad news indeed.
Anyone please, where is the gaming suite for Mac? Saids you can use the suite with Mac however I keep getting a MSI download and no Mac installer..
PC38x, all timer. Almost tempted to buy another even though there's nothing wrong with my current
Ditto. As much as I prefer the build and comfort on the H6Pro (closed) that I have the tuning of the PC38X makes it perfect.
Picked up the H6Pro for 60 bucks the other day - glad I did.
I had my doubts about this brand and this is what happened, I don't understand why to invent a bicycle when the most excellent models are already invented and it was enough just to update them and add wireless technology??? It was on the surface and very obvious, for example PC38X / HD559 / HD600 are literally a couple of models that could really blow up the market!
I love my H6 Pro + GSX 300 combo. Only issue I had was the mic having static later down the line but the sound is beautiful.
Probably because of the dac they act weird after a long time
Best brand for headphone I'm fully equipped with their line no complaint I got the b20 mic h6 / 601 / 670 and 2 GSX 300 I'm sad ;(
It's a bummer. I love their headphones. I picked up h3 hybrid and h6 pro racing green since the shutdown. Trying to contact customer service for additional pads or earphone disk, no reply to email and haven't reached anybody on the phone yet.. I'm going to keep trying. Customer service and getting parts might be challenging.
does anyone know if the epos gaming suite works on windows 11?
For me I love the sound stage on the sennheiser/epos headsets. And as for price they are always on crazy deals on Amazon UK. I have the gsp 500 for £35 H6pro £105 H3pro wireless £150 Gsp 370 wireless £90 Gsp 300 £22 ( crazy price for the sound quality) And I've just bought the game one for £55. Another great price. Maybe Amazon us is different
Amazon US prices really are something. Epos prices hardly budge here, even after this announcement.
@@unholydonuts check best buy. I found one for like $65.
That's really disappointing, I just bought the h6pro + amp bundle and I'm blown away with the audio quality.
I just bought the Epos H3 pro’s that go for $279 at regular price on sale for $112.99 at Best Buy. The total price with tax and shipping was $120
As an owner of 2 different Sennheiser gaming headsets, Game One, and GSP602(im a bit of a headset junky), i can truly say that the build and sound quality of these headsets is great! I'm sad to see that EPOS is getting out of the market. However, a non-surround, wired headset at these price points is kind of a hard sell to average gamers who might be on a budget, especially since there are many great options available for less. There are also wireless options such as the Logitech G435 wireless is under $50.
Thankfully i bought 2 pairs of epos h6pro (closed and open versions)
RIg gaming headset was Plantronics and now it's owned by Nacon.
It's so sad, i use H6 pro open back and it's 🔥🔥🔥
Sad news 😢 Happy H6PRO + GSX300 user here ❤
can you review it
Does anybody know if the HS6pro has sound cancelling mic
My H6Pros are my favorites. How sad. 😢
Nice one! 🤜🏻🤪
I scored my self an extra pair of epos H6pro closed and back ones :) So i have stock
Damn bro, sennheiser game division gets acquired by epos and then they just kill the whole lineup.
I have the Sennheiser gsp 600 I have to hope they never break.
yoooo wtf unexpected, wonder if theyll have a massive sale
I bought these for 180 and i do not regret it its sad to see gaming epos go the quality is top tier
I will say this i own a lot of headsets. Epos h6pro, turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2, hyper x cloud 2, xbox wireless headset, razer kaira pro, logitech g pro x wired, razer barracuda x. Out of all of them the epos h6pro are the best in my opinion. The sound and the comfort and the mic is great and no flaws in the headset other then it being wired but i dont mind it. If you dont care about wireless or wired and just want the best headset this one is one of the best. Epos h6pro i have it closed but if you want it open either or are great
Are the h6pro supposed to sound muffled if not how do you fix it
That's how they sound. They are not good quality headphones. They also are very limited with respect to impedance meaning they require an external DAC and headphone amp to get decent volume and dynamics.
This really sucks cause epos were by far the best headsets, just bought a back up pair of h6 pros since they are half the price of what I got my first pair for
Man, this is the same fate Plantronics met!
Open or closed acoustic is better for Fortnite?
Sad indeed, but not a surprise at all. Now, I'm not a gamer, I'm an office rat, who likes to listen to music and when it comes to calls, have a good microphone, which can be easily muted by a simple flip of the mic boom. And it has to be wireless, because I tend to walk around, especially in some intense calls. So for me it's top audio output, mutable mic boom, wireless. And a USB dongle! That's a must! Bluetooth only sucks, Windows does not work well with that. At first I used Sennheiser GSP 670, which was then rebranded to EPOS. They were PERFECT! With one extreme downside. The compatibility with new Windows OS and MS Teams was disastrous. I tried to fix it with Epos support, Windows support, spent hours... well... DAYS trying fix the constant "not connected" crap, but failed miserably, so I had to get rid of those. The software/firmware on those was a mess. Next I got me EPOS H3 PRO Hybrid. Again, almost perfect. The sound was comparable, maybe even slightly better, however the mic was slightly worse, yet still very good... as long, as it was working. You know, I'm doing a lot of mic boom flipping to mute, so I guess it wore out, and the boom mic basically stopped working... first it was just scratching in certain positions of the mic and in the end it didn't work at all. Got me a replacement though (just yesterday!), but I'm reluctant to even open the box, I mean, read the reviews at Amazon. It's 3 out of 5, mainly because of the reliability issues. If only was it a stable product, I'd keep with. I'm testing the Nacon RIG 800 PRO HX now, the audio is OK, but the mic sucks. :( Getting rid of them soon. About to test EPOS ADAPT 360, my first head set without a mic boom. Besides, any recommendations, what else to try? :)
I got the a DAC from them I wonder will they keep that alive
I Love H6 Pro, I don't care It's that pricey, It's the most comfortable headset I've ever used. Everyone seems to don't care about shape of ear cusions and put oval or rounded which ALWAYS hit my ears. Also they're usually too shallow.
I submitted a support ticket because I have an issue with the mic. They replied once to ask for my information then stopped replying for almost two weeks now. I think they plan to leave warranties hanging.
And Epos H6Pro xbox edition announced LOL ans now the stop 😮
I never heard of them in the first place.
kiddo grow up
EPOS spun off of Sennheiser years ago. Yeah they had some Sennheiser engineers, BUT they don't have the big daddy senn money supporting them anymore since they are their own entity and Senn washed their hands of them and sold off their consumer audio department to a german hearing specialist. People aren't gonna spend money on a brand they don't know. Epos sold ok when they were part of sennheiser, but even then. People still bought the likes of steelseries and hyperX, razer and corsair because of brand recognition.
also, because hyperx sells their headsets for $100 for a wired headset
Green H6Pro owner here. Very sad, these are one my top 3 headsets. Unique sound, love them for story games and music.
i mean the H lines are extremely bad with the exception of the H6 Open being mediocre but there's no reason to buy that really since you can buy a discounted PC37x these days.
EPOS headsets are not total junk, unlike most gaming headsets I've seen and used. Not sure what I would buy next.
bad news epos used to be called Sennheiser they started making headsets in germany ww2 times, along history very sad they are the best i know of
I'm late, but I just ordered mine....
I'm genuinely upset.
Its never a good thing, every gaming brand is getting bought, i still hate that hyperx got bought by hp, of all brands it had to be that one...
Got myn on sale from best buy 100 bucks
Glad I just got my pair of H6 Pros on sale at Best Buy for $100. I have a big head with weird pressure points. So ALOT of gaming headsets dont work for me. This is honestly probably the most comfortable pair Ive tried. I didn't even have to go with after market earpads. Stock worked great for me. I'll have to baby these knowing they are going away.
Like a lot of greedy gaming peripheral makers, Epos chose profit margins over volume, and saving costs over innovation, the Logitech GPX 2 being a prime example. And they refused to adapt to new realities, such as a changing market and consumer demands, as well as new, lower priced competitors. What is particularly disturbing is the complacent mindset among buyers and the public in general about corporations gobbling up competitors and growing progressively larger and richer, as well as more powerful and influential. This is in government access and control, in addition to the marketplace. This new neoliberal (read: conservative light) acceptance of corporate growth is unhealthy in many ways, not just in lack of competition due to increasing oligarchical and monopolistic power. Antitrust regulations were created for a very good reason. For the love of democracy and effective markets, take an economics class, people!
who needs it when there's Alienware headsets, Alienware is king of gaming.
😢
Well they broke for me all the time no wonder this happens . Bad quality .
Epos gaming headsets were absolute garbage. I can't for the life of me understand how hyped they were online.
Screw them their software never fucking works anyways, I have a GSP 670 and the EPOS software never detects it so I cannot control anything, try to troubleshoot and that doesn''t work either, so fuck em, they absolutely are the worst software I have ever USED
You are also missing Sony.
finally some good news, from now on i hope is gonna be 100% Sennheiser manufacture. if it doesnt say Sennheiser it doesnt say quality.
i dont care be honest, pc38x a way superior to this
Gaming headsets will eventually be a thing of the past , since in the future, audio will be integrated in VR headsets .
Let's face it 99% of them are a freaking joke get hd599 hd560s and attach a mic BINGO EVERY GAMI G HEADSET DESTROYED DEEEEEEESTRROYYYYED
Honestly, gaming headsets are just cheap headphones.
