Sennheiser sent me the new GSP 500 headset so today I'll taking a look and seeing how it stacks up to their Game One, which is the newer model of the headset I've used to record for over 4 years now. Let's have a HEADSET THROWDOWN!

Sennheiser Game One vs. GSP 500
• Sennheiser Game One vs...

/ fightincowboy
After going back and watching the video myself I'm inclined to agree that the GSP 500 does sound much better than the Game One. I'll be using it from now on to reduce the "plastic crunch" sound you all seem so found of. 😅
FightinCowboy I'll miss the crunch
It doesn’t sound *that* much better...there is just a few less noises your headset makes.
Really love sennheiser Sound, quality and mics Have tried out lots of different brands, but i always came back to sennheiser And with good reason 😊
Thank you for this review so much! Literally trying decide between these.
Thx for the good review and comparison man. I have the GSP 600 and I just love it. Just a tip about the pronunciation: Think of the word "Zen", when saying Sennheiser, and not "Sign".
The mic on the GSP is excellent, extremely crisp and clear
My greatest concern is the background noise cancellation on the Game One is far superior than the GSP. Test with how much each pick up when you mash your keyboard.
Nice, I just got a new headset :) I loved this video. I love all of your other work as well. Keep up your honest work.
I'd say the new Mic as long as it's comfortable for you. It doesn't pick up as much of the crunchy sounds when you move around.
I hoping you'll grow out your beard again. Love your videos!
The new one sounds better but the white one is still very good. Funny thing - I've been following you since the goddamn Black Flag days and your mic have always been cutting out :D It's mostly when you're mumbling or at the end of sentences...probably something to do with the sound level pickup sensitivity. Happens quite often in the God of War series too. Anyway keep it up!
huge improvement in overall definition, fuller etc. Still amazed at how incredibly pro you are whenever you do a review or an itw!
Would you try or recommend The Astro Mixamp Pro TR using the Sennheiser Game Ones? Your opinion matters. Good video!
What program are you running to add the noise gate and compression?
I know this is an old video but as a gamer on a budget I just purchased a GSP 302 because it was a good deal. I’m hoping the mic sounds this crisp. Thanks for the info.
I like the new mic honestly. With some tweaks it’ll be prime
The sound is better on the new one, but most importantly it does not have the plastic crunch sound that the old one makes every time you move your head. Do recommend the new one for future videos. There is lot of plastic crunchy moving sounds in your videos.
The noise compression on obs can you set it, so the max volume is a little lower. when you yell or get excited it gets a little jarring at least for me idk for others.just a suggestion, keep up the great content Cowboy.
I love the shirt. i would like to see other comparison videos like this one.
Great review! Different than most, very enjoyable. :)
the gsp500 is louder but the mic i think i alittle more defined but the game one is clearer if that makes sense
I don't even need to watch this review to tell everyone how good GAME ONE's are. I've had game one's for over 4 years and my wire just got a broke near the headset where it plugs in... I IMMEDIATELY ordered replacement wire without hesitation. I've used these for 10+ hours a day almost every day as I work from home and game with these. Don't settle for anything but game one's....they are simply the best headset I've ever had and will never use a closed back head set. TRUST ME!
A little different vid, for sure, but a very good, authentic tech review, CB. Thanks.
I actually preferred the game one to the zeros in regards to sound. Only prob I have now is it seems like the mic picks up the sound of game easy since it’s an open headset.
Is this plugged into an audio adapter for that crisp mic?
are you using a dedicated soundcard or whats in the motherboard ?
The joints on the earpieces are fine. Unfortunately the plastic housing of the size adjustment mechanism seems to be a weak spot.
Hi Cowboy, Good video and sound check comparisons too. One thing I'll comment though is your frontal light you're using to light your face is a bit hot. . and camera focus was fuzzy and out of focus many times. I pre-ordered a pair of these a few weeks ago, but they won't be available for another week. I live up north of you in Ontario Canada so us Canucks don't get our hands on them for at least another week. Plus they are considerably more than what you pay for these. I just looked at my bank statement and it said Sennheiser charged $338.75 which includes our 13% tax. I'm going to look at a few more videos you put out, and if it's something I can use, I'll sub and note your YT channel. Thanks again
Is the material you were thinking of Alcantara? A synthetic suede-like material. It's nice and soft but isn't as durable as leather
I just got the gsp 500 för 160 dollars. Bought in a heartbeat!
the sound seem of equal quality between them. Possibly the 500 also get a few more micro vibrations but that probably has more about one mice being more to one direction than the other. so we are talking about a almost non existant difference. I would say they ar of equal soundquality based on this test.
Hey cowboy when do we get the other havels ring in ds3
volume seems kind of low on mine...seems a lot of people have this same issue. tried on numerous devices, and settings. Earphone volume knob is maxed, and feels like this is middle level volume...think i will return these expensive, low volume is not worth amount of money to buy.
6:57 "Kinda feels like the same material with my co.." 😂😂
Bro just got the gsp 500 today.I am using the game ones for like a year now too but i just felt i need to get the new one. Well i rly like how they feel. They feel rly light on my head not much preasure and the sound.. the sound its better and the mike its an upgrade over the "ones". I drive my headsets with soundblaster g5 amp and they feel so much alive. Those sennheiser products despite of what it says 28ohm on the 500 or the 50 on the Ones, they are power hungry.U rly need an amp to drive the properly and appreciate the true sound of sennheiser products. I guess i am fanboy now.
Александър Стефанов can i use an amp with Xbox one
Do you used a sound card?
Does the GSP 500 have Mic Monitoring?
I am still using the original PC360 for something like 6 years now. Been trying out other headsets but nothing came close. I wanted to upgrade but saw that Sennheiser basically used the same tech and called it Game One. Even the HD 598 is basically the same. And now the GSP 500 also seems to be the same but has less comfort. Why am I being tortured so much with this perfect headset?! My first world problems are killing me!
Indeed.
Its sounds so good i need one i just broke my headset
which one is beter for a dex build
The game ones were $199 when new so it's actually a $30 difference at release date of each. My game one head band pad is about shot and I'm debating on the gsp500 and 600s.
@@ethan7633 I have no idea
Thanks for this cowboy gd vid helping people all the time ^_^ oh would u recommend this for PS4?
Woah, the GSP 500 sounds significantly better. More full sounding with better consonant definition.
How do you enable those filters?
I like the plastic crunch sound
The newer headset definetly sounds better but if the older one feels more comfortable then use that one
How the hell do not hear the difference in sound quality
Should’ve done the potato chip test cowboy
Hi cowboy i'm asking why you have not done a lets play on nier automata, i've started to play yesterday and this game is amazing, so please can you do this lets play ? 😁 PS : i'm french then don't blame me for my english 😊
He did do a let's play for it... it's in his playlists
Also I don’t see them for 150? The game one
Are you Cassady Campbell's brother?
The 3.5mm or whatever in your headset doesn’t unplug!
kitty in the window
do i need to buy a mic and audio adapter for xbox or does it come with one
It comes with a cable for console.
Count me a subscriber because that is what I call brutal honesty !
The biggest difference is that the Game One series is a music headset that was tuned for gaming. The GSP 500 and 600 were built, from the ground up, just for gaming.
LOL ... wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong
Any updates about the gsp500? I'm interested in getting it but I'm afraid of the clamp force.
They're great now. Don't even notice them anymore.
FightinCowboy nice to hear that may get it. Is the sound good?
I just got the gsp600 right now I decided to return them cuz they fit really tight even after adjusting them, the mic is def more sensitive then my game ones. The sound is def better and more base in the 600 tho. Just the pressure I couldn’t take so I returned.
Joel Garcia some reviews says that the gsp 600 is tighter because of the paddings. I think I should go and try it before I buy it :) same for me for the mmx 300 gen 2, the pressure is too tight
FightinCowboy I've bought the GSP500 comfort level was okay feel like getting the GSP600 earpads as I prefer memory foam over foam of gsp500 have you tried the earpads from GSP600 on it? I
The white one makes plastic noise when you move
Cowboy is one good looking dude!
He’s got glorious eyes.
Yes, he is one sexy man.
in canada, the game 1's are 130 dollars off, so its now $200 from $330 cad. is it still worth it to get the game 1's in 2018?
Jirom _J got mine for 70 usd open box return
eking11 was it worth it? There only 80$ on ebay so i was thinkin of pickin them up
YES, very worth it. I thought they wouldnt be as comfortable as Corsair Voids or hyper x Cloud 2, but they are literally the most comfortable headsets I've tried yet. Sound quality beats any gaming headset on the market. Compared to cloud 2s and voids, sound clarity is top notch. Bass is tight, satisfying but not overdone. Best headsets you could get for under 100 dollars. If i could afford it, i would have bought a second pair as a back up. I don't think I'm changing headsets for years
also i have a giant noggin, and there is more than enough room for it Lol
The newer headset mic sounded a lot better
I bought pc 360s for both my brother and myself because of the mic quality on cowboy's vids. I honestly can't tell a difference between the One and 360 as far as mic quality goes but for the price the 360 is right now, they're some damn good headsets.
So what your telling me is all headsets sound the same just the mics are different? I’ve seen a lot of reviews about the game ones and everyone says amazing soundstage etc but your telling me different
There's more built in filtering with the GSP series than the GAMEs. Sound size they're similar but I wasn't able to tell a major difference in audio between the two.
I'm watching this video because gsp 500 is ln sale for black Friday, it's the same price as the game one. I must say I love everything about it, I just wish it wasn't so bulky...
tekgeekster that’s what’s making me hesitant to buy them too!! They are bulky, but they do look cool.
@@kayceeare393 I got the massdrop pc37x instead. It was $90 on Friday. It's still $120 normally which is cheaper than the game one they're modeled after.
That thumbnail kreygasm
Those white headphones make you look like D.VA from Overwatch.
They're at about a 50 dollar price gap atm. I say get the gsp 500. If you have a big head it will hurt. I'm sorry so if that is an issue get something else. Also the gsp 500 is NOT loud. So if you like loud headsets then you would need an amp or some sort of audio software to boost your sound.
This review is good.
Can you make a review of your cats?
I would but it'd probably make the internet explode.
FightinCowboy what are more comfy these or other “leather” headsets? Also do these ever make u sweat?
how many cats do you have?
3
oh cool i have 2, and they love to eat cables
can confirm, cats do enjoy nomming cables
3? So a fairly low number.
I have 9 cats lol
Sooo...you can dissect minute details in the sound/record quality of a mic... but not the drastic differences in the audio output quality of various headsets. Interesting...🤔 Seems a bit 🤥...or you just don’t want to crap on various sponsors...
idk for me the game one picks up breathing so easily for me lol i swear im not breathing heavy
Not be that guy, but it's SENNheiser, not SEINheiser.
God finally a guy who sound genuine and legit I know he can be a bit biased cuz after all partnership but anyway... Ty for your opinion
very informative. they all sound the same huh. ill just buy all of them ok
I can tell that new headset would punch my fat head like a vice grip.
cowboys stoned
i cant decide between the two. i will mainly use with xbox and ps4 controller. which one should it get? side question, if i am using with xbox directly plugged into controller, (not using headset adapter with buttons on it), will that work ok? will i be missing out? i see that xbox adapter is really expensive now, so just questioning if i even need it. also on ps4, since there is no adapter with buttons like xbox has, im guessing all game/chat audio is done in a menu?
It would work just like a normal headset.
FightinCowboy you ever use either with a ps4 controller ? I heard the controller has issues powering the gsp 500, even with its lower impedance?
It shouldn't matter, it's a 3.5mm headset, not a USB powered device.
thanks for the info. it looks like like some reviewers of the hyperx cloud alpha report the same issue. i think it has something to do with the ps4 controller not "pushing" certain headphones enough power through the 3.5mm port. but that the xbox controller pushes more power. i might just have to buy and test?
I've got game a pair of Game Ones and it works just fine on my PS4 through the controller. It won't give the same quality of sound as you would get on the PC (it seems a bit quieter to me, but the on ear volume adjuster fixes this just fine). The mic quality is worse on PS4, but I'm unsure if that's just due to the headset itself or the voice quality on PS4 party chat. In any case I can vouch you will be perfectly happy using the Game Ones on your PS4
The game one can’t have cable detach from headset, at least not on my game one
All game ones can detach, are you sure you have a Game One?
FightinCowboy absolutely, though just recently bought mine and I heard they made some revisions including requiring less ohms
JohnConnor333 ..you have the original G4me One and not the newer model Game One. New one has removable cable and lower impedance. 50ohm on the new one and 150ohm on yours. Much easier to drive the new one
FightinCowboy the original ones did not detach
I think the GSP 500 mic sounds 10 times better
2:12 😂😂😂
71$ on amaz right now 😮
The GSP 500 mic is way better then Game One's mic.
I disagree....Besides the volume gain I could not hear a difference.
SENN-HEIS-ER The GSP 500/600 are an improvement in every way for sound and mic quality, as well as actually having lows. For me the Zero and One are pretty poor as I like the bass aspect in games, movies, and music. Both were such a downgrade from my old Razer headset, but it broke and I already had both the Zero and the One, so I didn't care to spend for that headset again.
Can tell the difference between headphones... Thinks they all sound the same 😒 Stands up closes KZhead for forever unsubscribes from channel.
Get a pair of stax headphone
2:14 🤣🤣🤣
To be honest, the differences with both headsets are almost entirely negligible...what it’s going to ultimately come down to is comfortability and ease of use. The audio sounds incredibly crisp on both headsets.
Seinnheiser🤣🤣🤣 its SENNheiser
seems to be a super common thing and it triggers me lol
@@frostyworgz Yeah, I don't get why people say that when it obviously says SENNheiser. Lol.
Bro?! He has a Dodge Challenger???
Challenger is my baby, bought it right out of college.
Can you post a picture of it on Twitter??? PLEASE???!!!
GSP sounds good, but comparing the 2, I do not see the value in spending $80 more for them, as the Game One sounds very crisp as well.
So no monster hunter Monday? Feels bad bro
Well today is Tuesday for one, also Monster Hunter Monday did happen so I'm not sure what you're saying.
FightinCowboy I just missed the stream and usually upload the video on Tuesday. No worries though that's on me 👌
Dude! Are you clueless? You haven’t tested the sound! Oh my!
What fucking currency are you in? I paid 375 NZD on a discont for my game one
Love your game videos but to much use of F word
God damn the GSP500 is hideous.
are you even using the amp from sennheiser? LOL
Amps aren't needed.
No one cares how the headset cord affects your cats
Nice video but way too long, the intro was really irrelevant to what most of the people came here to watch. If you're going to compare the headsets, just do a 5min video about the comparison, not every single detail about why you're doing the comparison in the first place.
Hay cowboy or what your real name is but that KZheadr joe I don’t know how to spell his last name anyway he did a challenge video will he ated dog treats when he played call of duty mw
